Ridiculous game. Very close throughout with the lead going back and forth. I was down and driving at the end of the game, threw a pick to I think Michael Johnson and as he was returning it managed to strip it free with an offensive lineman, then another offensive lineman returned it for the game winning TD. Unfortunately my 360 froze right after the game so I can't post the replay, it was absurd though.

That was the worst loss you could ever imagine one of the biggest loads of BS that I have ever encountered in Madden Football.

My team made tons of big plays, had two longs bombs to Hixon, had at least 6 sacks and 3 turnovers plus one that was called back on a facemask penalty?!!?

Reminds me of the time I made a youtube video of a LB keeping up with Devin Hester for 40 yards, then batting the ball away plus hit sticking Devin has he tried to catch it on the tip.

Madden just suck all around and you can never tell if you are getting cheated or if it happened legit.

So is that what most of us are doing? I plan on trading this in also right after this tourny. I really disliked this game from the get go but this CAG season/tourny was just to much fun to pass up.


If madden does bring its A game for next year I most likely wont even bother to pick it up.

Hey guys, not trying to stir any trouble or anything, but I still keep an eye on this thread from time to time. I just had a general question I wanted to pose. I know Azu was talking about doing a Madden league/tourney again next year, but I was wondering. How many of you guys are going to pre-order or even purchase Madden 10 on day one next year?

The way I've felt about the last few revisions has left me with kind of a sour taste in my mouth, and I doubt I'll buy the game again until every reviewer, website, and friend tells me that it's a "must own", and that I'm missing out by not owning it. I'll probably just have to wait through the "initial hype" phase (about a month) to get an honest opinion. Anybody else have a thought like this?

I can understand "tradition", but I just feel like that's what they're banking on now. They definitely made improvements this year, but with all the cheese that goes on in this game, it gives the impression that the core gameplay element went almost completely ignored.

The last 2 Maddens I've bought at launch for $60 and $90, respectively. I just don't think I can give EA my blind faith anymore. Considering that NHL 09 even got a patch to fix things people were complaining about (glitch goals, too high shot accuracy, etc.), it would be nice if Madden got that kind of dedication.

How many people would have liked a "fumble less" or "don't always play in the snow" patch? These are small complaints, but I just want Madden to earn my dollar again. I'd like Madden 10 to be amazing, but I have a feeling I'll be waiting a while.

I don't think I've ever bought a Madden on the first day except this year. Mainly because I played the demo and the gameplay was much more playable than 08. My brother bought 08 last year and I traded it for The Orange Box on CAG because we never played it because it was boring. For some reason, I've tallied up to 90+ games over Live in Madden 09. Plain and simple, I'm having fun with the game (or, I was until other games came out). I actually considered skipping 09 because it didn't have accelerated clock, but they announced a patch was eventually going to be released... which eventually never happened.

Yeah, you're going to have your issues in Madden. Franchise mode is unplayable and there are some tweaks people nitpick with the gameplay. I just think they need to fix Franchise mode to what it was in last-gen and I'll probably be sold.

Steelers win 24 - 0 against sstyler and the Bengals.

We only played 1 half before sstyler offered me the win but if you are a Steelers fan it was one damn good half.

I dont know what it was today, seemed like I could do no wrong. The 1st half we played, I scored 24 points including a 99 yard TD to Holmes after I INT it on the 1 yard line. Parker had a crappy day but still managed to get a 30 yard scamper into the endzone.

The story of the day as it always is with me was defense. 15 hurried pass attempts, 3 sacks, 2 INT, 3 Forced Fumbles (actually I think it was 2 one got over turned by the booth) one of which was returned 40 yard by a defensive lineman.


So as it looks now the worst postition I could be in is 3rd place right AZU? Is there any prizes for the 2nd and 3rd place finishers?

Lets please try to knock them out quickly as in some time this week. This league and tourny combo although very fun has been drawn out way to long and its time to actually end it.

I want to take this time to thank everyone who stayed until the very end it was really fun this season and made me slightly less annoyed that I actually purchased madden in the first place.

Big props to Azu outlasting the 2 other leagues and finishing it up even when he lost.

I will be trading in madden the very second I complete my last game in this. Whether I will get madden next year depends on if I win it all this year. I would hate to win this tourny and then not give anyone the chance to beat me next year but I dont know if even that is enough for me to get another madden. Madden simply is not football and EA seems very content to leave it that way.

There are just to many areas that dont even come CLOSE to representing football. 45% of the routes in the game are worthless beacuse you can only throw 2 types of passes, lob or low bullet. Man defense is completely broken. Line play is broken. The way RB run is completely trash as apparently every back in the NFL is both a power and finese back. ETC. ETC...ETC.

Just far to many problems that have been around for the last 6 or 7 years for me to every be excited for another madden. Until they scrap the entire 10 year old engine and actually make VAST improvements not just 1 or 2 and some kind of crazy gimmick I will keep with the trend of buying madden every 4 years or so.

Ryan Grant fumbled the first two times he touched the ball. The Steelers recovered both. I was angry the rest of the game.

Very gg, Sood. I could never really stop Parker enough to turn things around after those painful turnovers and a crucial dropped pass by Lee on 3rd down.

And the Pittsburgh Steelers still have what it takes to win a Superbowl as they defeat the Greenbay Packers 35 to 21.

"I knew we could do it. I knew if our defense could dominate the way we have been all season we could pull it off," Bryant McFadden said after the game. McFadden INT return for a TD was one of three Steelers interception on the day, others included MLB James Farrior and DB Ike Taylor. The defense also caused 2 forced fumbles in a row on the Packers next 2 drives.

Big Ben was quoted saying, "I am glad we have them. They bail us out a lot when the offense cant get going." This was as true as the offense although effective missed key opportunity for points off turn overs. Big Ben ended the game with a 70.9 Passer Rating throwing for only 134 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 INT although he did rush for a TD on a QB sneak.

Running Back Willi Parker carried his weight in today's game by rushing for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns which included a 22 yard scamper on a draw play to find the end zone.

"It was less about me and more about the guys in the trenches," Parker said, "With the holes they were opening up I barely had to do anything but run straight."

The Steelers were not all smiles at the beginning as Big Ben threw an interception on the very first drive of the game then had to make a diving tackle at the 4 to prevent the TD, J. Nelson caught a 5 yard TD pass from Rodgers 2 plays later putting the Steelers in a hole early in the first.

Big Ben and the offense would respond by scoring on the next drive. Parker capped a 80 yard drive off with 22 yard TD run into the end zone tying the game and ending the first quarter. The Steelers defense dominated in the 2nd causing 2 straight forced fumbles on the Packers next 2 drives and shutting them out. Meanwhile the Steelers offense scored on a Big Ben QB sneak and a INT returned for a TD by McFadden.

Another early score by the Steelers in the 3rd with Parker punching in a 3 yard run puts the score at 28-7. But the Packers showed signs of like when Donald Drive made an amazing catch that when for a 32 yard touchdown making it a 2 possession game at 28-14.

But Pitt would score again to open the 4th after a 46 yard Play Action bomb to WR Santonio Holmes which was capped off by a 4 yard fade pass to Willi Parker in the back of the end zone. Packers would score one more time with 10 seconds left after yet another amazing catch from Drive which went for 37 yards and was capped off by a Rodger QB sneak into the end zone bring the final score to 35-21 and bringing an end to a incredibly long season.

Anyone have any thoughts or comments on the whole thing? Kinda want to hear Azu opinion on the whole thing since he ran it. Overall I thought it was decent. There were so many slow downs though but the tourny seemed to go somewhat smoothly between most members.

I cant believe it took the entire NFL season to do this though. But again kudos to Azu for being the only league that survived.

I'm kind of pissed off at all of the people that signed up and never even played. I realize some people got screwed over because all their opponents were assholes, but still.

I'll run something like this again if they copy what they did with NCAA09. Otherwise, I'm not dealing with a bunch of jack-asses again.

For what it's worth, a double elimination tourney would normally have me facing off against the winner of the "3rd place match" and then the winner would face Sood again, but that's probably unrealistic considering how much it took just to get to this point.
