How do you make the custom playlist in nhl09?

You go to the media hub, and then just basically choose playlists you've already created for the different teams and different events (intro, goal, penalty, etc.)

Wow...nevermind moo. After downloading a couple of those sound packs, I have to say, they're terrible. Whoever made them must have zero experience with audio files. They're all clipping like crazy. I understand wanting them to be loud, but making them sound like shit is not the answer. I think "Zombie Nation" is the worst. From :27 on, it's just unbearable. That's really a shame because it seems like he's got some good stuff.

Yeah, I saw that one. That one seems really involved though (not to mention the files are HUGE, haha). I uploaded what I'm currently using in case anybody wants something fairly quick and simple. It's based on that Hockeyist website I linked to earlier (plus a few additions I made myself). It might not be up to date, but it still adds a lot to the game.

It's not necessarily going for realism either, but rather something that is more pleasant on the ear but still sounds like a "hockey song." I don't even use the introductions pack. I used my own music instead because I honestly just don't like half of both the actual intros and the intros he used.

Besides, the Break in Play music, what you hear most the time, are numerous. I have about 85 ditties from that guy, and that's after removing 20 or so that I didn't like. Some are from the same song though, just different sections of the song.

Yeah, I downloaded it overnight. I guess I'm just thinking about the idea of streaming it vs. it being on the hard drive. It would take forever to put all this on my 360 HD, but I read about some people having problems with streaming it during online play.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. It just defies the laws of good audio modulation, haha. My guess is just that in game, the crowd drowns out all the distortion and popping from the heavy bass of these songs. I checked out the pack that Sean linked to. It does the same thing...not quite as bad, but it clips at points.

The cool thing about that pack though is it has the organ music from NHL94 in it too...plus songs for all the AHL teams. It's really indepth, but if you turn on file sharing through Windows Media Player, you can use the playlists that are already created. How well it works though, I don't know.

I beat Vulcan in two close 1-0 games. As advertised though, he injured Sedin. Luckily he has a twin brother on the team so we won't miss him too much. ;)

Destro and I split our two games. Although he won the first game with the SLOWEST puck in history haha.

Well, not to jump into this fray...but 75% of the guys on your team have "good wrist shot accuracy". You do have Detroit after all...but that is what it is. You can't expect people to not be upset with you when you bitch out on a game though. It's being a sore loser, no matter how you spin it.

I remember a game we played in MLB 08 when I no hit you for 6 innings, and you quit, and then bitched me out about not giving you anything to hit. I guess when you beat me in our two games in this league, I should have complained about you not giving me any pucks to shoot? I got frustrated in the MLB league because of a certain teams playing style that I felt was unfair due to the way online games are played, and at first I spoke out about it and then just decided it was stupid to do so. You just have to be that much more "on your game" and plan things out.

Destro in that one game I just got really lucky. Thats the most goals I've scored so far, while playing this game. Usually my guys fuck up all the one timers. If you want me to not get the one timers and crap, don't sit back and do the lay down thing, come up and check my guy so long as no one else is out of position.

Atlanta is just small and fast (much like most of the 99 glitchers in OTP). I don't have a ton of experience in real life hockey, but at the very least, speed is a tremendous advantage in this game. I can attest to it from when I had my OTP guy 99 glitching. When your opponent gets to more loose pucks than you and always catch up on breaks, it's frustrating as hell.

I've played Sean several times, both in league play and just for fun...and I think I hold my own. But usually he outshoots me and ends up winning a close game. Lehtonen usually comes up pretty big for him as well. You can't blame him for that...just like you can't blame Wpark for having guys with really great shot accuracy. Certain teams just have different strengths.

Ya, the Thrashers are a small fast team on the first two lines with mediocre skills except for Kovy who is amazing all around. Vulcan and Mr Hockey showed how small they were with them getting big hit after big hit. (Vulcan got 3 injuries on my players). Lehtonhen is also 6' 4" and I realize that helps in this game and he usually comes up pretty big.

Also, in case anyone was unaware...I 99 glitched from 2001 to 2003. You have to understand, it was just the culture at the time. I have no idea how I got into it. I guess I just wanted to be the best Crotch Shark I could be and live up to those expectations. I realize now that it was wrong, and I apologize. I hope my future performance speaks for itself, and just want everyone to know that I am now a 100% clean, non-performance enhanced Crotch Shark. Thank you :)

Before, I figured that most of the OTP people played in the league, having everything consolidated into this thread would have been fine. But, some OTP stuff has started to get lost within the league posts (which I am assuming left at least one person sitting alone in the locker room for a while. Sorry man :-( ).

I think Wpark has the perfect solution, all teams available, last team last "season" gets first pick in the "Draft". Classic hockey rules, it works for me. Obviously ;) I'm in for year 2. As we talked about Moo, I do think that it would be good to have a separate thread for the league, so guys can come on and trash talk each other as well talk about the ucoming games, and scheduale. I like the idea of best of three, if it's already set up like that, great.

Well, in my experience with creating leagues (and this is based on MLB 08), the number of playoff teams is usually dependant on the number of teams in the first place. For my MLB league, we had 12 guys spread out across 2 divisions, and only 2 teams from each division moved on to the playoffs. Not sure how it'll work with one big group of 12, but I really wouldn't expect more than 4. Even with 8, I wouldn't have a chance in hell of making it though, haha.

But I definitely want in on a 2nd league. Not sure which team I would want, but I need to prove to myself that I'm better than my record. I really feel that Miller screwed me out of a lot of games. There were at least 2-3 I was winning before he just fell apart and gave up numerous goals in the 3rd period.

Oh, also, sorry to everybody that I wasn't around tonight. I was playing GHWT with the wife. It's not often that she's in the mood to play video games (well, ones I like anyway). So, when I get a chance to have it count as "spending quality time together", that's an opportunity I don't let slip by, haha. Seems like you guys made a lot of progress though. Crotch Sharks Vs. NYR: A Tale of victory and punishment.

The game started just as any other, with both teams taking to the ice and the benches. All signs indicated that this would be a great, fun, fast pace game. The ice was smooth, the beers were cold, and players from both sides took their respective positions as the crowd cheered. The signs were wrong.

As the referee approached the face off dot, a foul odor hit the air. As the puck left the referee's hand, the source of the foul odor became apparent.

No, Palin and Lohan remembered to shower. And Russel washed his hands when he was done. Anaya looked around and spotted it. The NYR's left winger, #14 reeked of 99 Glitch. He was fast, and he was nimble. But that would be the cause of his demise. The Crotch Sharks quickly caught scent of the fish, and they set their sights. #14 became a marked man.

And they were relentless.

As NYR won the opening faceoff, they slowly worked into the Crotch Shark's zone. Seeing an opening in the slot, #14 quickly began to skate from the wing to the center. Russel would have none of that. He quickly steped in front of #14, but #14 kept skating forward. "Fine, if thats how you want it," said Russel. Both of Russels fists pierced through the air, straight into #14's shoulders, driving in stright into the ice. The crowd cringed, but still keys their eyes on the action as the Crotch Sharks cleared the puck from their zone.

Play continued as normal. Normal for everyone but #14. Whenever he was in striking range, which was nearly every second, a Crotch Shark would zero in on his prey. Anaya hit him along the boards, Palin and Lohan threw elbows, while Russel just dominated.

Though the Crotch sharks payed for their physical play through power plays, they made up for it by checking #14 every chance they got, effectively removing him from truly playing the game.

At the end of the 1st, the Crotch Sharks took a bite ou of NYR as a team. They worked the puck deep into he NYR corner as the timer counted down from the last minute. As the puck was poked loose in the corner, a NYR player pick the puck and attempted to clear the puck. Lohan stopped the puck at the point, and fed it to Russel. Russel blindly backhanded the puck from the high left slot.

Time slowed as the puck flew undisturbed towards the goalie. After what seemed like an eternity, the puck made it to the goalie. It his him in the right shoulder. As the crowd began to groan in disapointment, they saw that the puck was not stopped. In fact, the puck had continued to travel towards the goal in a knucle puck fashion. As fast as it began, it ended. The puck hit the white strings of the net, and the horn sounded off. 0.9 seconds remained after Russel's goal. Not only was #14 getting pummeled, but NYR gave up a last second goal going into the locker room. The Crotch Sharks cheered, entering their own locker with both the lead and the momentum.

THe second period continued much like the second; #14 was on his back most of the time, and members of the Crotch Sharks spent time in the penalty box. #14 was rendered completly ineffective. He looked more like an ice rink decoration than a hockey player. It is a sad story, when a player with all the power in the world is reduced to nothing by four determined Crotch Sharks.

As the end of the second approached, #14 had enough. #14 and Russel had a few words, and the gloves came off. #9 of the NYR would have none of that though. Before #14 and Russel could do the bare knuckle dance, #9 took #14's spot. "Enough is enough!" said #9. You've been hitting #14 all night, and now you'll deal with me! It made no difference to Russel. Two hits was all it took to put #9 in his own little world. Both players would have to wait until the third to set foor on the ice again.

The seconded period was uneventful after that, and quickly ended. Again, the Crotch Sharks went into the locker room with the lead, but this time had even more momentum. They accumulated exactly 80 hits in the first two periods, with over 95% of those on #14.

The Crotch Sharks showed no mercy in the third. There was only one way for #14 to avoid their hits: stay down on the ice. As the puck dropped at the begining of the third, #14 was pushed to the ground. Her got up, and was hit to the ground again. He skated over the center ice line, and was immediately hit. He crossed the blue line into the Crotch Shark's zone, and was immediatly greeted by Palins elbow. As soon as #14 got back up, he was hit again by Anaya. Lohan showed #14 the door by checking him into the boards and out of their zone.

This continued throughout the third as well, and the Sharks Maintained their lead. When all was said and done, the Crotch Sharks emerged victorious. They compiled 130 hits in those 60 minutes of action. Or in #14's case, 60 minutes of hell. #14 went home with icepacks all over his body. The Crotch Sharks celebrated as the parted ways that night. They know that night as the night they beat the 99 glitcher.

I read the reviews and got scared off of 3 on 3. I wish I had gotten to play with you guys, though. Last night, I had a party.

However, I had a nice hockey overtime doubleheader today. I went to LA to see a very good game in which the Kings really controlled the game the last 2/3 of the way (missed period 1 anyway due to traffic) but lost 3-2 after dropping a shootout. Then the Reign beat the Las Vegas Wranglers in overtime, 2-1, in my night cap in Ontario.

My schedule is that I am available most nights. School starts on Tuesday, after which I will be unavailable before 1 or so P.M. Pacific on Monday/Wednesday and maybe 4:30 Pacific on Tuesday/Thursday.

I played Destro once and then couldn't connect for a second game. Destro, are you wireless? You lost connection before the first game even started, then when we did play, the game lagegd terribly in the first period and a half or so and continued to have slowdown/collision detection issues along with green circles appearing behind the goaltenders.

But overall, good game. It was very evenly matched in everything except for my doubling of your TOA, yet yous till handed me my first regulation loss. I still can't believe I had like 3 straight shots ping off the post and then you scored the game winner on a blue line slaps shot by Ovechkin.

Mr. Hockey messaged me about playing, but I won't be available again until the WWE PPV ends 3 hours from right.... now.

I don't have a wireless connection... my game froze on loading, which has happened on my disc a tad... I never have lag at all so I don't know if it's my end.

As for the second game not connecting, I have no idea... it always says you are offline in NHL even when you are online, so maybe that has something to do with it?... in any case, when we get to play our last game, if it still won't connect you can just request me to play, I don't care if you have two home games, not like home ice matters.

Well I tried to play my other brother tonight in league play so he can get started, and for some reason at the first faceoff after the game starts, the game sort of starts... skipping... the players line up for the face, and then it rewinds like 4 seconds and does that continuously, sometimes it then rewinds to the opening faceoff, and then back to the present faceoff.

He said the same thing happened when he tried to play N8... he's in another league and it's never happened.... has anyone heard of anything like this??

Here are the release notes for the second patch.


Exploit fixes:

-Prevent players from entering games with attributes that are raised beyond the level they can reach with the card they are entitled to have. Players who have elevated their attributes this way should reset their character by changing the type and reassigning their points.
-Limit the size of human goalies in OTP/EASHL games to 6'4" (NOTE: it will still allow them to be set larger, but the actual height in game will not go above the new limit).
-Fixed some problems that could cause the game to hang or go out of sync when pausing.
- Prevent use of LB to get up instantly after being knocked over.
-Reduce accuracy of shooting while using vision control to skate backwards.
-Prevent high, accurate slap shots from in close to the net.

Other changes:

-Reduced the ease of beating the goalie on the short side.
-Decrease the tendency of the goalies to use a desperation save unnecessarily.
-Strict calling of interference, though you can still clear players directly in front of the net without getting called for interference.
-Added stick lift to Classic controls using LB+X(XBox) /L1+Square(PS3). It is also on R3 (press Right Stick).
-Fixed shot targeting using the Always Up control when skating down ice.
-Added new NHL rule to locate face- offs in the attacking zone to start a powerplay.
- Prevent CPU players from getting delay of game penalties frequently while clearing the puck from their zone.
- Prevent puck from being poke checked away from the goalie when he has it covered under his glove.
-Reduced the amount of time it takes to get control of the last man back, holding RT(Xbox)/R2(PS3)
-Reduced the amount of time it takes to get control of the goalie, holding LB+A(Xbox)/L1+X(PS3)
-Reduce the range of heights on randomly generated CPU players, including goalies.
-Eliminate the ability to accelerate and maintain high speed which stick lifting.
-More penalties for high sticking when stick lifts are done from behind the opponent.
-Made the colours of the OTP/EASHL indicators more distinct (yellow and orange).
-Made face-off outcomes slightly more random and slightly less dependent on attributes.
-Added assistance to prevent one-timer and shot attempts from leading to accidental hits and interference penalties.
-Goalie tuning to increase goal-scoring a bit to compensate for taking away the easy short-side high goals.
-Improve hit stat tracking to not count all of the small bumps in front of the net.
-Increased injuries caused by CPU teams.
-Prevent puck from being launched with very high speed following a hit.
-AI tuning for superstar. The Aggression slider now affects how intense the CPU team is on that difficulty level.


The patch is out for PS3, but not yet for Xbox360.

There won't be any need to cap skater size without being able to 99 glitch. Actually, before (and still...temporarily, I guess), I saw more guys who were like 5'7" 150lbs who didn't give a shit about being knocked down because they would just LB glitch to get up instantly. Being that small, plus having a 99 in speed, puck control, deking, etc. made it ridiculously easy for them to skate circles around normal players. But now, if you're too small, you'll get crunched. And if you're too big, you'll be slow as hell. It's going to force guys to choose what's more important. If anything, it'll bring a return of the "average size" player.

Also, I don't think they've really made it harder to score. They're just fixing loopholes that created an unfair advantage. The toe drag goal (skating backward and then whipping the puck around), while maybe a "legit shot", is near impossible for the AI goalie to stop. That shouldn't happen. Reducing accuracy is probably the only way to fix it without ruining other parts of the game by boosting the goalie's intelligence.

A top shelf, corner slapshot, a foot in front of the goalie should not blow past him. I could maybe understand it hitting off his pads and squeaking in, but there are far too many clean goals on these kinds of shots (including the wrap around slapper). Again, reducing accuracy is all they could really do.

Other than that, the only other "goal scoring" change I see is just trying to prevent the goalie from flopping unneccessarily (which happens a lot). Really, I see a lot of defensive changes that should make scoring easier as well. For one, they're making stick lifting a lot less effective (slows you down, causes high sticking, etc.). Plus, there will be more interference calls in front of the net. Depending on how well that's implemented, that should make a big difference.

Those two changes should make play in front of the net a lot cleaner. I would worry that this will just help the cross-creasers, but I gotta believe that when you don't have a 99 in passing and a 99 in offensive awareness, performing a cross-crease pass won't be as easy. I'm really interested to see how this patch forces people to adjust their playing styles.

I'm hoping that will be a byproduct of not having 99 passing. The passes shouldn't be as crisp or as dead on accurate. There's only so much EA can do though because they still have to maintain the balance in the game. They can't only increase the goalie's awareness on those kinds of plays. It would affect other areas of the game, and then we'd never be able to score, haha.

Yeah, I think it's smart that the game will adjust your in-game height when you play goalie. Since we're not locked to positions, this is the best way to do it.

I also wanted to post this since the release notes for the patch doesn't mention it specifically (unless that's what "-Fixed some problems that could cause the game to hang or go out of sync when pausing" means). It is the "pause glitch". I suspect this to be the new preferred method for cheaters to try to reach the top of the leaderboards. Just wanted everyone on our team to be aware.

For alot of you, this may be old news but it seems like for most people this is still unknown knowledge...

So, you played the whole game, you're currently winning, there's 20 seconds left in the game. They get the puck, skate around in their zone, trying to burn the last seconds of the game and will inevitably pause glitch it. (I don't want to get into details on how to actually glitch the game and prevent the game from being counted. If a mod would like the info, I can provide the little bit of knowledge I have on how to do it, this is irrelevant in this thread so I'm not gonna give anymore details).

This has nothing to do with the face off de-sync glitch, only the glitch that prevents the game from being counted.

So, the game is finally over, you won! Wait a minute... the grades show up right away and you don't get the menu like you normally do. They pause glitched the game and the game will not count if;

1) If you press "A", the game will proceed to "Waiting for users" and keep looping forever.
2) If you go back to your dashboard thinking the game "froze" or "lagged out"

So, to prevent them from getting what they wanted... simply press "Start" when the grades show up (DONT PRESS "A"), it will bring up the regular end-game menu, simply quit out of the game like any other game you would've quit. It is very important that everyone on your team presses start and quits out like a regular game. If anybody presses "A" or goes to the dashboard, you're toast. That game won't count and you officially wasted the last half hour.

This will prevent the game from lagging out and never getting your "W".

Hopefully this will help a lot of people to get their rightfully deserved wins.

Looks like our days of 100+ hits per game are over. At least Vulcan will be setting the record for penalty minutes in a game... ;)

I don't think the tag would be useful. For other games, it never got use outside of a few days, because everyone just adds everyone else to their personal friends list. You have 20+ people saying "Oh, I'll add the GT, just send me an invite", but over 1/2 will never accept an invite/actually play the game. Hell, look at the "Old" list of members, and compare that to how many of us post in this thread.

Besides, almost everyone who is a regular has several other regulars on their lists, and new people are rarely (if not ever) forgotten. Take panther1484 for example. He only became active last month, but is already "one of the guys."

Though the argument has taken off further than it should have, nate does have a point. It is common courtesy, and probably common sense, that a person that hasn't even played with the group should toss around ideas first. If you go to a job interview and get hired, do you immediately tell others what should change in a business before you even walk out the door? It's not about stratification, a hierarchy, or profiling. It's a matter of being familiar with things before you suggest changes.

Just wanted to post this before I go to sleep, cravintacobell and I squashed our beef like Shaq and Kobe. We played a club game together tonight and really held our own. He played RD, and I took my usual Center position. I really wasn't expecting great things from the game considering we were outnumbered 4 to 2, but we grabbed a surprising 1-0 lead early in the 1st off a quick John Stamos to "Some AI Dude" pass, who beat the goalie pretty easily.

We even held the lead until late in the game when the team of 4 mounted a decent offensive charge and got a fat rebound for an easy tap in. After that, I was robbed on about half a dozen different scoring opportunities. The goalie must have known how much John Stamos HATES the glove. There was plenty of glove, but alas no love. cravintacobell did a really good job setting me up for plays too, I just couldn't put anything home.

The game went to OT, but we ended up coming up short. We definitely weren't outplayed though, and the other team should be embarrassed that they were taken to OT by 2 guys. Hats off to cravintacobell, and welcome to the team!

The goal play by their goaltender saved them, the other three would have been beaten without his play in goal. I thought Nate had the angle on the glove a couple times and the goalie swiped it up like it was nothing.

Wow I'm glad to see this thread is thriving! I had no idea so many CAGs played NHL 09 online anymore, especially team play and EASHL!

I was going to come in here and complain about the lack of interference calls from my last two games but it looks like it's already been discussed and possibly fixed by EA. I'm still going to bitch about last night for a few moments, so stick with me here.

We were the Red Wings (not my call) and played against the Sharks. My teammate was simply horrible. I tried including him in the play on many occasions but he would simply take it in and get crunched. After a while I started doing a dump and chase that was working. Numb nuts couldn't put the puck in the back of the net even though I fed him beautiful pass after beautiful pass in the slot. However, that's not my gripe. My gripe is that there were literally no penalties called until 2 mins left in the third period when I decided to embody Sean Avery and start being a dick. I got an interference call after nudging a guy that was not too far from the puck. The other team, on the other hand, was absolutely getting away with murder out there. They were popping guys at the blue line, forcing offsides, absolutely raping me in front of the net, and nailing every guy that barely crossed the blue line, puck or no puck. Not one call was made. So this was all fixed in an upcoming patch?

Oh yah, From the PS3 impressions, if you even nudge a guy with out the puck it's a penalty. So I'll try one game as RD and then if it doesn't work, looks like I'm going with goalie. I gotta say, Alan is a great goalie and I inspire to be as good as him one day. :D

FWIW, I like where the league/otp is at now. We have a good group. I would be down with doing some legit OTP when the patch comes out, but I still think I like playing against people I "know" sometimes.

a bigger issue is my brother... I have tried to play him 5 times to start his league games, and the game goes into skip mode and eventually just goes back to the opening faceoff... he said the same thing happened with him and N8... so he basically can't play a game and make it past the 5 minute mark.



I don't know if the patch could possibly resolve this, but in his other league, it's never happened. Moo... what shall we doo?

On the other hand, as long as you guys don't mind the occasional bad goaltender, I play just about every position, and certainly don't mind filling any spot that's needed. A lot of times I pick my position last because I don't care which one I get.

I let up a bad goal, a glitchy goal, and then they beat me with three really good shots... my team was also playing no defense, both defenseman thought they were the second comings of Al Iafrate and McInnis...


anyways, after the 5th goal I hear my teammate over my speakers... "God... our goalie fucking sucks!"


at that point on I let up nothing and we rallied from 4 down to win the game... the other human goalie quit after letting up the go ahead goal with 10 mins left in the game, and I stonewalled them the rest of the time...


so, you just gotta play to get better.



I know this squad never wants to see me in goal again... but to be honest, I drink wine before playing on Fridays and I thought because of the game view I had set up that I was the other teams goalie.... oops.

Yeah, this is why I don't listen to chat when I'm practicing goalie with randoms. I sort of feel bad if I give up some stupid goals. But considering it's a glitch & cheese wasteland right now, attempting to learn the position with any group of guys is risking a lynching. Hopefully after the patch comes out there won't be so much hate for playing any less than perfect.

I think I've found that I play goal better then any forward and defensive position. I'm still trying to get the hang of shooting, s most of my shots are either right into the goalie's chect or 10 fet from the net. Its a work in progress though I guess.

I had a couple league related questions for you guys. I found out tonight how to lock in as a goalie during versus games (and got the two achievements that go along with it. ;) ) and I was wondering if for the league it is required to play as we have been, or is the option of playing locked as the goalie open? Also would you guys think this would be a good idea for the next league?

I have actually been playing d and went two full games without a penality!!!! Seem to be doing a lot better this way. I can see the pass up ice but can't score. So this works well. Plus I still get to hit!

Haven't been able to get on the last 2 nights for too long, but got some random pick up goalie in, and actually did really well. I turned of my mic so I wouldn't have to listen to people point out my flaws, but I think it also helped me concentrate, ended up winning 4-3, and I made 15 saves (and about 5 of those at LEAST I robbed them on)

Look forward to the patch for sure though, played a game today with a glitch scorer getting 5 on the short slapshot

I finally finished my first regular season with the Kings. It took me 4 months rather than 3 weeks as in NHL 08, but I have a lot more games now (Fallout owns my soul) and a lot less free time. I finished with 98 points (40-24-18), good for 7th best in the NHL, 4th in the Western Conference, and 2nd in the Pacific Division behind Anaheim. I beat the Sharks in LA in the final game to take the 4 seed and home ice in my opening round playoff series against San Jose.

The thing that sucks is that, while I started my season on All-Star and switched to Pro after I went into a funk, I still can't score on All-Star like I used to. I switched back and went 1-3-1. I lose by 1 goal almost every time, but it's always 1-0 or 2-1. I can score online on the All-Star difficulty. It's so frustrating.

I'm worried about the patch, too. I haven't checked the PS3 forum here, but lots of people at the Let's Go Kings forums really hate the patch. Apparently, EA overdid it with the penalties so you can't even graze a player without the puck without being called for a penalty.

I've read a lot of people's opinions, and hockey purists seem to like it. They basically are telling people who are complaining to stop hitting people without the puck... I never get penalties, so I'm not worried about it too much.

I've been reading on EA's NHL 09 PS3 forum a lot today in anticipation of the patch (next day or so I'm hoping). I'd say 75% of the people like it and only 25% hate it. Yeah, I've seen comments of "I hit guys a 'fraction of a second' after they get rid of the puck and get called for a penalty", but I really question their estimation of a "fraction of a second".

I've read other comments from people saying they can time their hits just fine. Even if it makes the game less physical, I still think it's going to be a better game. I think guys like moojuice are going to be phenomenal after the patch. He already only gets like 3 hits a game, haha. Some guys are going to have to adjust (not naming any names...*cough* Vulcan *cough* ;)), but I think the pros far outweigh the cons.

The glitch/cheese teams are not going to know what to do with themselves. Many of them will probably just say that the game sucks now and will trade it in. I say good riddance. It will be nice to be able to skate in front of the net without the puck without getting hammered over and over again. I really only started hitting guys heavily after they pissed me off by hitting me, or because of their cheating ways.

The best defense you can play in this game is anticipating passes/clogging the passing lanes, timing your poke checks, only checking when you have a reason, etc. The patch won't affect any of that. I look forward to the patch because I really think it will instantly make me a better player. I can't even have fun winning with randoms anymore because I've had guys on my own team play like assholes, and it's embarrassing to be a part of it. The patch should clean that up.

I don't think we need 12 players in the league to move to the playoffs.. I'm in another league set up for 32 teams, and the GM closed the number of people after 18 teams signed up... My brother's situation wouldn't be resolved until Friday even if it does work then, and then he leaves for a week for vacation.

So, I'll just tell him he is out until the next league and we can push on... my guess is once everyone plays all their games, even with only 11 teams signed in, it will advance the playoffs.

And I'd like to thank you guys for two good games last night. We took a split, but that first game we had a great comeback and held on for a 6-5 win. Can't believe I hit the post on the open net breakaway, but my 5 assists will attest to my PASSING to people.

Yeah, after you left, the guys won once more. And after that, cravin_taco_bell and I played a game and pulled out a 2-1 win against 4 human opponents (why do we always get games like that?) Fortunately, the other team wasn't glitching at all. And honestly, they weren't very good.

The AI scored within like the first two minutes of the game for us. The other team tied it up early in the 2nd. And then I got the game winner with like 2 seconds left in the 2nd period. We just played solid defense the rest of the game and got one of the easier wins I've seen in a while. That gives the CAG team 3 wins in our last 4 games. I'd say we're ready for the patch! :)

Hell yeah man, we were playing real well together last night. As for that second game, those guys were just way too strong, beat us up pretty good.

I haven't done too well the last couple games but I am trying to work on the goalie skills. I checked my stats with the CAG team and I'm 1-4 with a 2.43 GAA. Not too shabby average wise, but I need to work on closing out the game (FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!! ;) ). Vulcan did good last night, and really most of the goals he let up were cheap (i.e. the puck on your leg rickiling into the net). We've got a couple good goalies here, and I'm sure we have better then most of the teams out thee. Now if they would just stop the cross cease passes... :)


We had some vey good games last night. And what was great was the fact that we weren't playing the usual rock 'em sock 'em hockey we are used to (not that there is anything wong with that... ;) ) and we planned out our attacks. Really good night, and I am defentily looking forward to Patch Day. Although right now I'm listing myself as questionable for Friday night. I'll try to make it though.
