[CAN] HMV PSP games sale

Stole this from RFD

Currently HMV has select PSP Greatest Hits titles on sale for $9.99. I believe there are only about 5 on sale in total. IIRC, the titles were:

- Killzone: Liberation
- Daxter
- Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
- SOCOM
- SOCOM 2

Might pick up a few, great prices for these games I think. I didn't even realize these were Greatest Hits games for the PSP. Makes me wonder if all the other PSP GH games are on sale too.

Hmmm, any opinions on any of these titles? Going on vacation next week.. might be something to do in between RPG's on the DS.

KZ:L has a downloadable demo so you can try it yourself. I played that and liked it a lot. I've heard good things about Daxter and Clank, but I've never tried them. There is also a demo for SOCOM 2, but again, never tried it.

I played through Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters and Daxter and I must say they are top notch PSP games. :applause: Especially for 10 bucks, there's no excuse to pass up on this deal.

I might get Killzone, I enjoyed the demo.

Just as a warning, I went to a HMV in Kitchener/Waterloo this evening, and the only game on that list that was $9.99 was Daxter, so it is likely YMMV.

Daxter and Size Matters are both excellent. I have been meaning to try KZ2 for a while.

This seems YMMV.

I went to Woodbridge HMV and they had a bin with Ratchet & Killzone at $10, but most other games were either 2/30, 2/40, or 2/60, including Ratchet & Killzone :-?. Not the greatest prices considering you can get most of the 2/40 games for less at EB.

I'm going to Brampton now, I'll see if things are the same there.

Just got back from Polo Park in Winnipeg -- HMV has huge banners up advertising the sale (with the games listed pictured). So, not so much YMMV in Winnipeg, at least.

Damn I would get the games, but I am OCD about the greatest hits labels. Do you think they could adjust the sale prices of the advertised games for those have the black labels?

Daxter may be the best game on PSP, I suppose God of War trumps it. More than worth $9.99. Ratchet is great too if you're into the Ratchet series. I haven't really gotten into Killzone, but it's probably worth $9.99.

As far as I know, black labels and GH titles are considered to be the same item by most retailers. Since black labels for GH titles are discontinued now, this is the time to jump on 'em.

Came back from Brampton, the sale is definitely on there. Lots of copies of all the games mentioned at $10, plus a bunch of 2 for $XX titles. I bought Socom 1 & 2 for my friend, and Socom 2 and Ratchet for myself. Tempted to get KZ, but my friend will lend it to me once I want (have time for) it. Weird how Woodbridge didn't have the same items. Then again, Woodbridge is a bit weird.

I doubt you'll find the non-GH games at HMV, that's all I've seen so far. Maybe you could try to PM it elsewhere?

My Ratchet & Clank game was a non-GH version. The Bilingual cover had the red GH banner, but when I opened the package, both the disk and cover were the original black. SOCOM 2 was still GH, but my guess is that some of the newer games just get a newer bilingual cover slapped on. Might be worth checking out, you might even be able to tell in store before purchasing.

I picked up R&C in Guelph yesterday, mine was the same way. I'm SUPER anal about those red labels, so I was one happy camper.

Killzone Liberation is the best game on that list period.

I got one for $20 at Walmart when the game was initially released. Absolutely amazing game.
