View Full Version : RUMOR - Leaked Guitar Hero world tour listing!

Ok note this is a HUGE rumor its hardly confirmed, its kotaku taking it from something awfull so on the likely to be true scale this one scores poorly. However its interesting, its news and IMO this set list kicks monstrous amounts of ass. If this is really the set list then this will be the first instrument game I buy on day 1 vs waiting for a price drop or to find on craigslist for cheap!

You're correct.
While I enjoy GH3, there are very few songs in it I actually like to listen to. This list kicks all kinds of ass in that area.

Hot for Teacher has been confirmed since the Neversoft devs played it on stage at E3. Rebel Yell has been confirmed as well so I think it has some credibility.

With the whole "No Covers" movement that Harmonix and Activision are on right now, how the hell did Activision get masters of Ozzy and Black Sabbath songs when all previous songs from those two bands on RB and GH were all covers? Did those get mistakenly lost in a drug binge, but these two survived the wreckage?
SpiderLocMTGO

I'm saving up and getting both Rock Band 2 and GHWT on day one.

^The same way Harmonix got a master of Working Man a year after putting out a cover? Money.

So you're saying Harmonix and Activision were unwilling to pay for masters all this time?

So I would pretty much buy this for "Nottingham Lace" alone. Honestly listen to that song by Buckethead.
A lot of stuff on here looks good tho. Hopefully this list sticks. Undertow tour makes me skeptical of the lists credibility however.

First off fixed the title yes its GH Tour! Second nice to see so many people excited about this list. I thought it was the best track list out of any GH or RB yet. Finaly though as I said this is a RUMOR do not get too excited.

This is upsetting,
Now I have to buy this and rock band if this list is true
Between Tool (favorite band of all time), Master of Puppets (hell yes), Crazy Train, Megadeath, Beat It (yes I went there), Dragula.
I hardly doubt it's true though. Can't see them having three tool songs.
Although, I'd really prefer Forty Six and Two over Schism. That's got such a great bass line it'd be perfect for a band type game.

3 songs by Tool is not likely. I would imagine they're pretty protective about putting their music in products that encourage kids to play fake plastic instruments.
Plus, it seems to fly in the face of development to have all of them in one tier. That would be a DLC pack at the most, and still not likely. Tool won't even put their stuff on iTunes, which is the only thing I can't understand with their way of thinking. I think they're just retro purists and adamantly consider the album art part of the package. Only half their releases would even be acceptable (or even be possible) as downloadable art.

It's mentioned in a survey, so it's possible.

In this new Guitar Hero game, join up with your band mates to form the ultimate super group and rock your way to the top. Shred on lead, rhythm, or bass guitar (three options on one guitar controller), rip on drums, or belt it out on the mic as you rock together on the greatest classic, modern, alternative, pop, and metal hits. 85 songs by artists including Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Interpol, Muse, Tool (at least three songs and a dedicated venue), and dozens more come together to form the coolest set list ever. You can even play as your favorite rock star, choosing from characters like Sting, Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent, Billy Corgan, Jimi Hendrix, Travis Barker, Hayley Williams, and Zak Wylde. If none of these are your style, then you can create your own character, including character construction, instrument creation, band logos and album covers. Then take it to a whole new level by jumping into a fully-integrated recording studio to lay down, upload, and share custom tracks online – for virtually unlimited rock. This game features the most authentic instrument peripherals on the market, including an all-new wireless guitar controller with the first-ever touch-sensitive neck slide, dedicated Star Power button, and ability to palm-mute. Also, the new killer wireless drums have ultra-quiet pressure-sensitive pads, raised cymbals, and are easy to set up and take down. Or, use the microphone to become the ultimate frontman. This new Guitar Hero game lets you rock together and rock for all.

You're easily 15 years too late to this party. The beer's gone, everyone's passed out still or left somewhere around the middle Clinton administration, and my parents will be home any minute. Can you gimmie a hand to help clean up real quick?
This list is pretty good, a few nice selections on there, but there's way too much modern stuff for this crotchety old bastard. Tool does nothing for me as well. Rebel Yell and Hot For Teacher are very enticing - and I think the idea of "No Sleep 'til Brooklyn" featuring Kerry King is an *amazing* idea. But the list just doesn't jump at me like Rock Band 2. RB2 has L7, Bikini Kill, Social Distortion, Dinosaur Jr., and god knows what else isn't coming to mind.
I don't think this game's list (if true) holds a candle to RB2. But, in the end, it could simply be a matter of catering to (mildly, very very very fucking mildly) different tastes.
Let's see if Activision wants to continue to be assholes and not allow the Rock Band gear to work on the PS3 version of this game. That will be the factor as to whether I even consider buying it.

but it hs to be real it wasposted on the intrnet!!
Let's do some logical analyzation, kids.
-QQ tour. Do you get it? Of course you don't. I was giving you too much credit, wasn't I?
-Legends of Rock tour. Yeah, they already used this name...for one of their games.
-Sloppy positioning of songs. Some tours have 3 songs, others have 2, and others only have 1 for the band. Some don't have encores. The aesthetic possibilities for this all result in failure.
-3 Tool songs for a tour? This isn't Guitar Hero: Tool. Every other band gets only one song, Tool makes no sense to be an exclusion to this.
-Sauce: SomethingAwful.
-Activision rep denied the list's validity. No. Read that again before posting. Think for more than two seconds. Feel free to cry yourself to sleep.

It's possible...but any game that invokes "legends of rock" and has more Tool tracks than fucking Jimi Hendrix songs has got some explaining to do. [-(
Besides, what makes Tool so special that they get more tracks than anyone else? If Sting is in the game as a playable character, why not throw a few extra tracks from the Police in there, or do the same for Billy Corgan and the Smashing Pumpkins or Zwan?
I'm not saying it's not possible. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
The track list pinballing between eras seems a bit odd, too, because none of the other Guitar Hero games have broken up the tracks like that before.
If this is the real track list, that's fine...but this wouldn't be the first time the internet's been wrong about features in an unreleased product, so forgive any skepticism you see here.

a couple of thoughts/observations...
1. As a huge Tool fan, I LOVE Lateralus on the list, but it's a long and complicated song. Not exactly for such a mainstream audience as GH will attract. It'll be fun as hell (anyone see Lateralus live in concert??), but still very surprising. Why not 46&2?
2. Interesting that Jimi Hendrix is the last tour. That, to me, adds legitimacy to the game cuz they're probably going to hype Jimi being in the game (already started) and he's such an icon in the guitar world.

And we're saying it doesn't make the list less valid because the SAME EXACT THING happened with GH3 last year. The full list leaked in early August, and they denied it. Yet they kept confirming more & more songs on that list until the whole thing was validated. They waited to reveal the whole list in it's entirety until like middle October, and that's probably what they're trying to do for this one too.

I never claimed to *know* anything. If you had the comprehension skills that you should have had in 5th grade (I'm so sorry for you) you would realize my entire point is that claiming this is real, or even has a good chance of being real is quite stupid. You're very adamant about it which means you must know something everybody else (outside of the devs) doesn't.
And keep ignoring the evidence that opens up the POSSIBILITY that the list is real. It makes each of your posts much stronger.
