Suggestions for free hosting

Thanks to slickdeals.net I was able to register a domain name for free at godaddy.com. I am by no means pc savy but I see this as an opportunity to have fun and play around with html and see what I can teach myself. So now that I have a free domain name, I'm looking for a good free host. Any suggestions?

Aw this thread brought back memories of middle and high school where I would spend hours searching for free web hosts. I liked freehostia, I remember awardspace.com being really good. Check this page out for a list. http://www.free-webhosts.com/webhosting-01.php

Do you always have to pay to transfer yoru domain? Thanks Jest for the link btw!

Usually yes. What you could do is set up the domain at godaddy to redirect to your site at the other host.
