I'm looking for a good deal on one, I'm tired of having three remotes, since my Comcast Remote is basically useless when it comes to controlling my other devices
I have an Olevia 232V TV, and a Sony Bravia DAV-HDX267W HT system if that matters,
Thanks

bump,
would the xbox 360 remote be a good one?
Since it has the XBY etc buttons that I can use for the ab buttons on my comcast remote?

How much are you wanting to spend?
Best Buy had the new Harmony w/the touch screen on sale last week for ~$200.

I want to spend as min as possible that will get me by I guess, I'm really just looking to control those three products.
The whole concept of spending so much on a remote just baffles me when I was looking at some of the prices

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189109 This guy has one for 40 . I own the 360 one and regret nothing, as a friend of mine jokes it really is the one remote to rule them all. Was able to throw 6 remotes in a drawer never to be used again, once you get used to switching between devices and setting up everything to turn on at the same time it just becomes second nature.

That's a great price, only I don't see any buttons I can program to be used as the ABC buttons like on my Comcast remote
also, I was wondering on the LCD portion of the remote is what it says programmable?
Like will it always say "Listen to CD" but control something else, you know what I mean?

I have a 550 (Got is fro $50)and it works fine with my Direct TV HD DVR box. You can assign the four buttons at the top (Or any other button any way you want to basically).

Has anyone had any experience with the 360 remote?
Can the 360 buttons be reprogrammed? I'm really leaning towards this one if they can. Because my Comcast box uses the ABC buttons, and the other Harmony's I see don't tend to have them or a button I can reprogram that won't cost me a fortune

If you have an activity set up like listen to CD you have a choice of what you want to turn on for that activity, if that means you need a dvd player on you can set it up like that. As far as I know the lcd text can only have renamed activities and devices, devices themselves though are locked since it emulates the original remote like that. The ABC for the 360 is not a big deal at all dude, your comcast remote uses that but the Harmony can be set up to have any button do that, like I set my remote to switch through stereo presets by pressing 1,2,3,4 .
So just get the 40 dollar one, reprogram some buttons you'll never use to do ABC

I don't see any buttons I could use tho to do what the ABC does for me, like The A i have set up on my comcast remote to skip 30 seconds (or commercials), the B and C control the day function for the guide.
I would not be able use to the numerical pad for those, since they'd change the channel. The fast forward etc, would control my DVR's functions, so I don't know where that would leave me

There are 4 colored buttons that can be programmed. Hell, just about every button can be reassigned and learned if you have the original remote.
I reprogrammed the colored buttons on my to match my Cox box.
The answer is yes.

I have one its not the 360 one, but I got it for like 40 off amazon.
Whats great is it doesn't have the buttons but it has a screen where the buttons show up and you can choose em. I love it, the only thing it doesn't work with is our krappy little dvd player. I don't know why just won't work with it.

Ok, I think I have this all figured out. But I need to get the 360 Remote for it to work for me
Comcast Remote vs Harmony 360
Swap Tuners Button=Prev Button
DVR=Display Enter (since neither are used for cable on the comcast box)
ONDemand=Display/Enter
Guide=Y (since it's already listed as that on the 360)
A (my skip button) =X
BC= AB
The rest are pretty much the same, Menu for Menu, Exit to Exit, The last button on the comcast remote can go to the last channel or last recording, so I figured it do the same on this..

Amazon has a bunch (all?) of the Harmony remotes on sale, with some pretty good prices on a few of them.

How are the buttons on the 659? Especially the arrow buttons? I'm looking into getting the 659 since I'm always seeing them go cheap on eBay.

How do I know what to change the remote speed to for each device?

You shouldn't need to adjust the remote speed for any of them. I got a 670 a couple weeks ago, which was a great buy for me. I love it.

Just play around with it, I adjusted the speed on dvd players I thought lagged too much in input. A lot I didn't need to adjust though.

I have a 550 that's brand new...but opened that I'd love to sell. I ended up with a free Harmony One right after I opened it.

This may sound stupid, but it's to slow to respond, would I put a higher or lower number.
