The D-Pad on my DS Lite is worn out... I can barely press right on it now, and up and left are starting to give out too.

Anyway, anyone know where I might be able to get it repaired? Nintendo charges $75 for a repair, and if I'm going to pay that much, I might as well get a new DS, which isn't really something I want to do.

Does, like, Gamestop or Best Buy or somewhere do repairs on game systems?

Open it up yourself. The contacts probably just need cleaned.

Disclaimer: I have never opened up a DS and my knowledge of cleaning controller contacts stems from days of the ColecoVision.

All you need it a triwing screwdriver sold online for $5 and a small set of screwdrivers and to carefully open it up. As for reference they have a Youtube vid of one being taken apart, just don't dismantle the top lcd its very sensitive. Having fixed over a dozen DS lites the only parts you have to be carefull not to break are the power and sound switchs becasue they are very small and only fit a certain area on your plastic tab.
