What unknown games have you played that are good, but have received little exposure? I'm particularly looking for adventure type games. Hopefully everyone can post and this can be an ongoing thread to learn about games we would've missed out on.

Somewhat unknown. Unknown to most I'd say. Never was able to find the game to buy. But I did pick up the sequel last year.

If you liked The Longest Journey, try Moment of Silence (http://www.gogamer.com/The-Moment-of-Silence-Front-Page_stcVVproductId4760511VVcatId444710VVviewprod. htm) or Culpa Innata (http://www.steamgames.com/v/index.php?area=app&AppId=12310&cc=US).

Syberia was not my favorite but this collector's edition (http://www.amazon.com/Microids-Syberia-1-2-DJC/dp/B0017HLYNC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1217857781&sr=1-1) with it and the sequel looks like a good deal.
Anachronox was mentioned... truly great game if you can get started.

For action, MDK, MDK2 (http://www.amazon.com/MDK-2-Jewel-Case/dp/B00005MEN7/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1217857694&sr=8-2), and Giants: Citizen Kabuto (http://www.amazon.com/Vivendi-Universal-Giants-Citizen-Kabuto/dp/B00006FXDL/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1217857731&sr=1-2) are fun and still have a sense of adventure to them.

Star Control II (http://sc2.sourceforge.net/). It's on my short list of best games of all time, and now it's completely free. Just remember to take notes.

Divine Divinity (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/divinedivinity/index.html?tag=result;title;0). Controls and plays like Diablo, but the actual gameplay style is like a 2D Elder Scrolls. You can get it at Target for $10.(budget re-release)

It's a surprisingly fun game!

The whole Jagged Alliance series but the best IMO is Jagged Alliance 2.

I second this game. It is easy to get into, yet is incredibly deep, space battles are incredibly fun and the exploration portion of this game is top notch.

My recommendation is NetHack. Although this game is more random compared to other roguelikes it has that same get to the next level and get cool gear that make roguelikes one of the best pick up and play games. It has many quirks as well that add incredible dept to the game, like trying to find which corpses are safe to eat and not.

Of all time, I'd say "King of Dragon Pass" (a wonderful game that you'd not expect to be so good.) I second Nethack. After abandoning Windows some time ago, gaming on my computer was DosBox or something similar (like MAME)... but once I found Nethack... I don't need anything else. :)

Awesome, so glad to see so many posts of games I haven't heard of. Now where would be the best place to acquire such games?

Ebay, Goozex, maybe gogamer.com or amazon.com.
