I thought I remember last year someone had taken a picture at the NYC Nintendo store with all of the variant colors and this was one of the options. I also recall that it was selling at some sort of premium but not sure how much more over regular MSRP.

Obviously it's an important console to them, I would think. Personally, I sold my original Japanese import white DS Lite and bought a pink U.S. one eventually. I regretted the buy almost immediately, though, coming to the realization that buying a new DS and selling off the old one wasn't worth it to me. Even though I game more on the DS than I have any console ever, a simply cosmetic color change just isn't important to me. I won't do it again.

Serious pokemon players need to have 2 or easy access to a 2nd in order to trade pokemon between games. Other games also support linking/trading. In my case I already own a DS phat that I use for that. I really didn't need a 2nd but want it because it's pokemon. Not sure if I will just leave it in the box until my current dslite dies or hand down my current DS Lite to one of my kids (who still have DS Phats) and start using this one.

Simple, don't wanna share... Everyone in my family owns one, except wifey (she only plays pac-man, and only arcade version too). Also, Wi-Fi play, a lot of funs. Since everyone in the family have different taste, color of the DS matters too (not only that, but also to tell which DS belongs to whom).

Yep, I have a red/black DS that I got with the Brain Age 2 bundle, and it has a yellow-tinted touch screen. But I had actually bought and returned 5 DS Lites (yes, literally 5), trying to find one without a yellow-tinted screen, to no avail. I think almost all of the new screens are made out of a different material which makes them look slightly yellowish. It is only really noticable on a white screen, but still annoying.

I reserved one at GS a couple days ago and picked it up today. The manager said that they only had three and sold the other two in minutes of them coming in. They also said they are not likely to get any more of them. Luckily i found another one at a GS with very, very low foot traffic. They had two left. Just picked this up from gamestop, its really nice. The designs on the ds are slightly metallic and actually really classy (unlike the pokemon game boy color). The case is also cool as it has a strap to hold the ds in place and pockets for 3 games. The tshirt is also really nice, it has metallic prints on both sides and a ds logo on the shoulder. Id say it was worth the tax just for the shirt, though its only available in large.

u can set the brightness after the "power on". its when you see the settings before you start the game. if i remember correctly, you should see a little sun icon at the bottom right screen.

If yes, my guess is because there were no AV cables plugged in... which cause all 4 to light up.

Sadly the mystery dungeon DVD only has one episode like the last mystery dungeon special which aired on cartoon network and was given with the meystery dungeon red and blue at wallmart I think too bad I had already bought the game elsewhere and opened it up... :cry:

Also the new mystery dungeon time & darkness special airs on cartoon network on a labour day special at 7:30pm or around that if anyone interested..

It is glued shut and as far as I can tell, it's impossible to get the DS out without damaging the box pretty severly. I'm happy with my purchase (no dead pixels, bright white screen) but as someone who keeps hardware boxes, tearing up the packaging was a bummer.

My Zelda DS wound up having a wack screen. Slight yellow tint. If you call Nintendo support, they try to tell you it's normal and no one screen is a like. But if you press a second time, they'll offer you the opportunity to repair it.

Couldn't agree more. It took me forever to get the system out. They glued everything and I was trying to not rip up and tear the top panel on the box. I used a knife to cut through the glue but it still looks pretty bad in the end.

i followed someone's instructions for opening the box when i got the crimson/black brain age 2 ds bundle. i don't think the search function can find it anymore. basically stand the box up so it's facing you, take an exacto knife and cut the back edge of the top face. then your box opens up cleanly and nicely.

^ Wow, nice collection.Thanks for posting that by the way. I just opened mine and still managed to crease the top flap some, even using a razor. They sure put some really strong glue on these things. I'm pretty happy with this LE though, it looks great. This carrying case isn't quite as nice as I thought it might be, but the system itself is awesome. Amazing deal for the same price as a standard DS Lite nonetheless.

Ah, thanks for the tip about opening the box. I completely mutilated my first one (with the cracked screen), so when I get my replacement, I hope I don't have to destroy that box too...

I traded in my old DS at gamestop with a $30 coupon, so I picked this up for $43 after tax. Awesome system, and I'll need it for the awesome DS games coming out in September (Kirby Superstar, Disgaea).
