They were probably thinking this episode would be funny and cute but it JLU was just stupid tonight.

Synopsys: Wonder Woman gets turned into a pig, hijinks ensues.

Yeah, because when Otaru gets turned into a pink hippo it makes sense!

That's a shame you guys feel that way. I thought this episode was pretty hilarious. Especially that speech Bats gives at the beginning about dating Wonder Woman, that was gold.

And come on, how could you love the pig version of Wonder Woman DEFLECTING SHOTGUN BLASTS with the bracelets. That was great! Not to mention that animal hunter's reaction to Zatanna...

This season I think has been pretty good so far, it really emphasizes more character interactions in the style of the comics that JL previously has. The way they've been building a Batman/WW romance has been pretty tongue-in-cheek and amusing. The "guest" spots have added a lot of flair to the show, with Green Arrow, Captain Atom, Hawk and Dove, and the more mystical elements (Though that's been increasing since last season).

Heh. Well, come on - you had to like the 2-parter with Solomon Grundy and Dr. Fate from season 2. That was good stuff.

Just because it is made in Japan does not make it better.

That episode was pretty stupid but that guy Wildabeast was pretty funny when he started checking out Zatana. Batman singing was kinda cool too. It's crazy when Teen Titans is more serious than Justice League cuz the two part episode of Teen Titans with them fighting Tera was great.

This episode of JLU reminded me of a Ducktales episode where I think Scrooge got turned into a pig and Huey Dewey and Louie had to find a way to cure him. I think the villian in that ep had the same name too.

The family just got Cartoon network.. and we just love it! Tonight the kids laughed and laughed.... I have no idea if it was the greatest or worst episode ever but we liked it. and if anything else..it got a post here at CAG and someone said"it reminds me of Ducktales" I mean how many times have we all said that?

(good job goukill!)

This is why I stick to anime.

Just because it is made in Japan does not make it better.

Japanese anime (or just "cartoons", same thing) have a different way of telling a story than American cartoons. It's a personal preference. Growing up as a kid, I was hardly exposed to Jp. anime, mostly because it was inaccessible over here and I was too young to go out and buy what was available. Anyway, the American cartoons I watched back in the 80's and even early 90's were quite enjoyable to me! As of late, IMO, cartoons made by Warner Bros., and other companies just lack quality in my eyes. (Basically everything on Nick, CN, WB, Disney... I can't find anything half-decent anymore)

Inadvertantly, my disappointment in what kids are left to watch today (cuz hey, I still like cartoons and I'm 21!) led me to discover anime several years ago. I enjoy how stories are told - with more focus on character and plot development over a period of "time" (episodes). Things are left unresolved in episodes, twists and turns in the plot occur, and the type of humor they use is more appealing to me. Granted, some anime (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh) do fall into that "monster-of-the-week" theme.

American cartoons tend to follow a "battle-of-the-week" theme, where everything is solved in one episode. I don't find the humor used appealing (maybe it has something to do with being older?), IMO.

Anyway, there are people out there who don't like Japanese anime just because it's from Japan, but rather the style, story-telling, humor, etc. appeals to them personally and that's why they choose to watch it over American cartoons. Just my opinion, and it's just personal preference. People can enjoy both as well.

I never said that, but just like moiety said I enjoy anime much more then the other cartoons, it's my own personal preference.

Sorry if I offended you or anything.

This episode was ok. Nothing will beat the StarCrossed episode though. That was as good an episode as anything I ever saw, anime or otherwise. There is always going to be episodes that someone doesn't like but overall Justice League is one of the best American cartoons out there. Warner Bros. is the only American company that makes any toons that are close to anime quality. Usually American toons have stupid ass art (Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, and the New Batman show that is upcoming on WB kids) and tired dialogue.

As for the weird stuff such as Wonder Woman turning into a pig, that's nothing compared to some stuff I have seen in anime.

Some Cartoon Network examples....

Vash the Stampede acts like a total fool most of the time then all of a sudden he turns deadly serious. Don't get me wrong I like the show, but the crap he says after each episode ends is the most non-sensical babble I EVER heard.

The Inuyasha episode where he was coming on to Shippo was weird (but funny as hell).

Do I even need to mention FLCL?

I thought it wasnt' the best JLU episode ever, the first one was so far, but it was enjoyable to say the least.

Actually, I like it quite a lot. It was a pure character exercise. THe one thing I'd change would be to get rid of the whole slaughterhouse sequence in favor of more time for character interaction. Although it was pretty cool that they slipped in the "That'll do, pig." I hope James Cromwell gets to see that and be upset.

This most reminded me of the occasional Buffy TVS episodes where the setup was done entirely to give the characters a chance to play off each other and have some fun with one-shot character's like Laraine Newman's Medusa. Moments like Bwana Beast's (never thought I'd see him again in un-PC flesh) openly honest lust for Zatanna. I also found it interesting that Batman chose Red Tornado and Elongated Man as his trusted helpers. RT I can understand but I'd expect EM to be a terrible gossip.

I like the JLU show, at first I didn't know what to think about it, but I've really enjoyed it thus far. The second episode where Superman's fortress is infiltrated was kind of lame because the characters weren't very unlimited but it was still enjoyable. And agree, Batman's line near the beginning was priceless.
