What are you searching for? Words like PS2? Chances are, the results wouldn't be very helpful anyway.

We will have better deal searching/filtering in a future update.

Fun time: trying to do a search for the "Cat. Pic. Thread."

Fun time: trying to do a search for the "Cat. Pic. Thread."This is exactly what the "subscribe to thread" and Subscription Folders ability is for. And tags. =3

Sometimes you can wiggle around the limitations by adding * to the beginning or end of the three letter word searches, like *ps2 or ps2*

It's not 100%, but it's better than nothing.

Also doing a site specific search on google can often find stuff.

For example this search on google found the Cat Pic Thread in the first result:

"cat pic thread site:cheapassgamer.com"

Always forget that google search option.

I came here to add my 2 cents. I just tried to do a search for best buy black friday vip only to be told that "best," "buy" and "vip" are too short or too common to be included in the search, so it only found "black friday." For a site that is based on finding deals, why can't we search for Best Buy?

This is not the first time I've come up against this. Many times you can do a search for a game with too short a title only to come up short. Try searching for "far cry" sometime.

It's very frustrating. Add to this the 10 second delay between searches and it's enough to make me give up and try elsewhere. As for the workaround solutions-- it may work, but it's a design flaw when the function doesn't do as its advertised and the only way around that isn't even told to the end user. Even if it is, then why bother having a search function to begin with? Why not just forward someone to a google searchand be done with it? A casual user of the site is not going to hunt around for search tips for cheapassgamer to see how they can find information about "the world ends with you" (which only lets you look for "world" and "ends").

Which brings us to another problem with search -- quotation marks won't work. In google, which won't normally search words like "the" - you could force it when it's an integral part of the title. Let's say I am wondering if anyone is selling a vintage copy of "The Dig". I'm shit out of luck unless you let me use quotes, which you can't. Or a search for "Halo 3" strips out the 3 and searches only for Halo. WTF? I don't care about Halo, I want to search for Halo 3.

I didn't mean to turn this into a rant but there's a long way to go on the search, which in my opinion is broken to the point of near-total unusabiility.

How about an entire console? Wii.

Looks like that works.

Yeah, searches like ps2 work fine. I'm sure that was programmed in to work for obvious reasons.
