I just finished up Quest for Booty. I think it's good. The Online Manual page for the game doesn't work (I checked after beating it). I will pan this one, just like Tools of Destruction for its' camera problems. They need to fix that for the next retail release.

I thought the Force Unleashed demo wasn't bad. It's not anything remarkable tho, but what it does, it does well. Nothing I plan on picking up until a price drop happens.

I would kill for a next-gen X-Wing vs Tie Fighter game. Online dogfights, a co-op campaign for both imperials and rebels, and kick-ass HD visuals. Why aren't they working on this, and why aren't more fans asking for it???

Namco Bandai DLC is soooo much worse than EA. They ended up with hundreds of dollars of IDOLM@STER DLC. Strangely enough, if I was stuck at a boss and didn't feel like grinding, I would absolutely pay 100 points to buy 5 levels. Every once in a while I get to a point in a game where I think "I wish I could pay someone to do this for me." N-B must've heard me.

Normally missing a small amount of content isnt going to break the game. Missing content is missing content, if your experience was full before, it may have been fuller.

If there was a racing game where you had 20 tracks in the base game and were satisfied with it, perhaps the extra 2 tracks wouldve been even better.

For example, Marvel Ultimate Alliance was a good example of this (IMO)

Goozex is great for new games. If you find a good deal on them you can almost always get more points than what you paid for the game.

Older games you tend not to get so much, but it works out since you can get other older games for low amounts of points as well.

I completely agree with you, but if John Smith decides he doesn't want to level then how does it affect you? If he wants to cheat himself out of the experience, then it's his choice and has nothing to do with anyone else. The reason bots and gold farmers aren't allowed in MMOs is because it affects the other players by taking away mobs and ruining the in-game economy.

I find it ridiculous that someone would pay for it, but I'm always a fan of giving people a choice. We recently had a Dragon Quest debate in the RPG thread where a lot of people voiced displeasure in the series. The biggest complaint being that you had to grind. It makes me wonder how many of them, if given the choice, would have paid a couple bucks to not have to.

I agree, outside of multiplayer games there's really no reason to care. Just like there was no reason to care about people using game genies, game action replays or plain old cheat codes built into the games. We play to have fun and if that's how people have fun, so be it.

I see DMKs concern that they'll make games unreasonably hard to sell the DMC, but I think that's just his typical "oh no games online and in HD!!!" paranoia bullshit. It's just a way to make a quick buck off of gamers who want to blow through the game faster.

If the game had no achievements, I couldn't care less. But the game does. I'm not an achievement hound, but the games I love, i like to get every achievemnt I possibly can. Vesperia is going to be one I can play co-op, so I know Jaeli and I will be playing this to death when we get around to it. I want the achievements to be equal for all people; if you can buy level ups, then the achievements wont mean as much in my line of thinking.

I didn't like it at all. Just felt like a bland, uninispired action/beat 'em game (to be fair, I'm not much of a fan of that genre). Graphics weren't all that great, the jumping was terrible. The force powers were kind of fun, but had grown old by the end of the very short demo.

Even being a Star Wars fan, the demo left me with little desire to check out the full game.

Exactly. I was very worried about DLC early on, but I've yet to see a case where I though the original game was gimped without the DLC. Most DLC has either been useless, or has been worthwhile expansions (the Oblivion expansions, new multiplayer maps for CoD4 and Halo 3 etc.) that extended the life of a game that had plenty of content in the game to begin with.

I can't speak for Rei, but I kind of like DQ VIII. That doesn't mean I'm going to pretend there's a good story in it.

I think it has nice graphics, acceptable controls, some good tunes and a decent, albeit archaic battle system.

I agree, though I only dl'd for 360. The design is action hack n slash like GoW but with Half Life-like physics translated into sweet sweet Star Wars Force powers. I would like to pick up this game, though I'll wait for a sale or something first, of course.

I also played Pub Games last night until my eyes literally gazed over. I am getting richer at least. :p

Edit: oh yeah, and I picked up Kratos for Hot Shots this morning before taking the kids to pre-school. Can't wait to try him out in game later! I also didn't realize the R&C DLC was now available too, so I might pick that up tonight.

I tend to very much dislike RPGs and loved Crisis Core. Jest is right. It's really a basic action game with RPG elements. More games need a combat system like that.

Leveling up and melding the HP+ Materia did make the game pretty easy, though. But, it was still entertaining.

it's a fun and addicting basic action game with rpg elements. :)

you're pretty off on the prices-- after the 35% off coupon it's about $25 used and about the same price after shipping on the very low end on ebay. If you scoped it out and stayed up till 4am you might be able to snag one for $20 shipped.

Force Unleashed was made by people who've played Psi-Ops. And the lightsaber combo timing feels like windwaker sword timing. Very nice. Tried on the 360, maybe will give the Triple a try this weekend to compare.

No, Steam absolutely takes paypal. Through Steam, click on the store tab and click on any game and try to purchase it. There will be a list of payment options and Paypal is one of them.

It's a big black box with warcraft 3 on the cover, a pretty hefty art book, some art prints in a bag, a soundtrack, the game, and some other fancy stuff. It's a big collectors edition of Warcraft 3 for PC. I'm putting it on amazon unless you're interested.

The Force Unleshed was a sweet demo. I played it on both systems. I think the 360 had less screen tearing. I am going to play them much more. I am super interested in the game after seeing the guy force puch a fuck Star Destroyer into a planet!

I think I just drove around in the police semi thing and it got up pretty fast, and took a beating as well. Crackdown was a lot of fun, the only Sandbox game I've ever beaten. In other news, I think I'm going to try to pick up a few famicom games as accent pieces to sit around here. They're a good bit smaller than NES carts and just have a charm to them.

Go play a different game type that's more focused on team play, and try different classes. I did the same thing because I played sniper and was terrible at it, then tried out some other classes and am now addicted to being a heavy. Go play on Dust Bowl or Gold Rush or something.
