It takes a while to get a hang of the sattelite placing parts of the game. Think of it more like a Ikaruga style game where remembering patterns is helpful, and placing your sattelites strategically for each wave. I think the game is a blast, I played a few hours last night right when it went up.

Slowly eating away those huge waves of enemies and getting max multipliers is so awesome. Also the game is 100x better with the vintage skin.

Yeah I got one when MGS4 came out. It doesn't seem that they'll ever improve the BC, though. Meaning Yakuza and Tekken Tag will never work on my 80GB, those are the two games I own that don't work right.

I wasn't impressed either...or surprised that it was full of QTE's...mainly because it's by the people that did Indigo Prophecy.

Are you using a full install disk for windows, kendal? Sounds like you got a recovery disk, and those generally won't do a full wipe because the setup files are stored on HDD.

It is a full install disk. It is something with this PC. I know how to do this normally and I have done many a reformat and reinstalls with this very disk. I have seen a lot of weird problems in my day, but none where I couldn't delete a partition.

Hard to say then without more info. Did you drop into BIOS to check the boot sequence? Mebbe it's trying to run stuff off the HDD. Mebbe a USB optical drive should be used instead. Anyways, that's the last I'll post about it, this bein' GGT an' all.

New Star Wars looks like someone with a really amateur CG animation program tried to bite Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars style. I'd consider watching it (not in the theatre though) if it was Genndy Tartakovsky's hand drawn animation, but this new stuff makes me sick to my stomach. :\

But glitch aside I never do win anything from the other 2 games. Fortunes Tower seems to be the only game you can actually win at. Seemingly the only way to make any money in SpinnerBox is to make something on your first few spins then cash out. If you just keep spinning you'll just run out of money eventually. I don't really bother with Keystone.

I swear the whole point of that game is just to get you in debt, and I would be were it not for the glitch. It's a shame the game thats glitched is the one you could probably win some money legit. The stupid points/levelling system is annoying as well.

It's ok for free but I'd have never paid $10 or even $5 for it.

Playing through Mega Man 1 on the VC. Beat everyone but Guts Man and Ice Man. I'm can't get past the floating/shooting platforms on Ice Man's level. I'm getting closer, but once those bird things start flying in, it's over.

I'll probably switch to Guts Man this afternoon and give him a go.

After starting out completely horribly, I got into a groove and felt pretty good about how I was playing - until I hit Ice Man.

I can't wait to face Yellow Devil again. It will be our first meeting since around '88. I didn't use the pause glitch then (didn't know about it) and I won't use it this time either!

New Star Wars looks like someone with a really amateur CG animation program tried to bite Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars style. I'd consider watching it (not in the theatre though) if it was Genndy Tartakovsky's hand drawn animation, but this new stuff makes me sick to my stomach. :\Preach it! I'm not huge into SW or the micro series, but Genndy is incredible in all his projects. My heart aches for the seeming death of the ink & paint club.

I watched Batman Begins last night, and the guy Cillian Murphy (did I remember the name right?) needs to be cast as Miles Edgeworth. All he needed was that magenta jacket and the ruffled shirt. And a boot to the head. ;)

You can get some decent cash with spinnerbox and keystone -- ketysone, just bet most of the arch... 9/10 of the time you'll come up with a godo 200+ of what you bet. Spinnerbox, just pick a game with a high limit and roll until you hit the jackpot -- if i wasn't trying to go for the unlock all games 'cheeeez i would've stopped and had made about 10k...

Here's my thoughts on the FU demo.

Demo was dissapointing. It's a pretty bad action game with a fancy effects/license paint job put over it. The combat is just dull and lacks challenge. Even the force powers gimmick gets old quick, because you're basically just throwing things around, except it's not as fun as it was in Psi-Ops or Half Life 2.

The targeting is very innacurate and the camera sucks. It's too zoomed in to see all the cool stuff you're doing, and doesn't react quickly enough to everything going on.

Even worse is the lightsaber stuff isn't nearly as good as Lucasarts' own Jedi Knight games. It should have been similar to those with the new force things added in, and a little more ninja gaiden/DMC style fighting. As it is, it's a bad God of War clone that lets you throw people around. The shallow Quick Time Event at the end of the demo was the punctuation to my increasing "meh" feelings on the game.

Throwing enemies around was fun, the first few times, but it's not going to make a $60 purchase worthwhile. Add that there's no multi or co-op and hopefully the full game has a LOT more depth/challenge or this is going to be quickly limited to the kids table.

It's pretty bad, and I think a lot of people are going to get sucked in by the initial flash and get bored quick. Expect lots of used/resold copies by christmas.

The things I enjoyed were seeing the glass shatter the few times there was glass, and picking up a dude and throwing him around. Those things cease to be fun after 2-3 times. I just think it's a really shallow experience that's getting by on its license and the gimmick.

The Wii version reviews should be fun because it's the same game with all the fancy stuff removed.

Not betting enough? :P
Tables are unlocked based upon 2 things:
(1) Points earned in that particular game (i.e. unlocked at 150000 points in tower)
(2) Your gambler rating thing reaches a certain star level (a lot unlocks at 3 stars).

Bet more, you level up/unlock games faster... so if there's a game where you can go bet large sums per hand/spin (you can do like... 6000 a roll in some of the keystone games), do that until your star rating goes up.

Ikaruga kicked my ass but seemed fun. Same goes with BC:R.
I liked Rez over Braid in style, but it seemed too easy.
I wish I got more of Braid in the demo, it's a short experience. but the entire game is apparently short too
Pac-Man CE was fun, Def Jam Icon wasn't.

Free online is nice though -- I never had a problem when I was playing Resistance online, though it's the only title I've tried.

Gamerscore AND trophies suck...they are worthless...but at least you cant glitch trophies. and at least you are able to display them when Home comes out.

Yes. The bluray drive controller ate it. Which is apparently a known issue on 60gb models. I could play and download PSN games, no problem, but the drive refused to spin/read anything.

In this instance the title suggestion was kinda nasty and not appropriate. The trend in some of the more recent GGT and Fighting Thread titles has been going down towards a more raunchy and even exclusionary element and it just isn't necessary. (I know you guys, I know you weren't meaning anything really. But not everyone has that advantage, and the two current titles were more than slightly offensive to some of the wimmenfolk and even to some men.)

As for semantics, if it helps, sure, I'll go along with folks should avoid "potentially offensive titles." We're a video game site, we talk about games. The purpose of the site is to share info on cheap games. As a community we've grown exponentially and within those numbers a good many of us have found cliques and friends we associate with and have fun discussing the games and elements of our lives with. Pacman CE changed the game in a good way. Bionic Commando added some new elements and graphics but brought a true classic to an audience who might not have had a chance to play it.

Galaga Legions just redefines boring. "The same team that brought me Pacman CE" failed to recapture the magic.

It's always fine to have open conversations about policy, gun. Y'all should know me by now, I won't always agree and even if I do agree, it doesn't mean I can do anything about it. But I'm all for hearing different sides.

In this instance the title suggestion was kinda nasty and not appropriate. The trend in some of the more recent GGT and Fighting Thread titles has been going down towards a more raunchy and even exclusionary element and it just isn't necessary. (I know you guys, I know you weren't meaning anything really. But not everyone has that advantage, and the two current titles were more than slightly offensive to some of the wimmenfolk and even to some men.)

As for semantics, if it helps, sure, I'll go along with folks should avoid "potentially offensive titles." We're a video game site, we talk about games. The purpose of the site is to share info on cheap games. As a community we've grown exponentially and within those numbers a good many of us have found cliques and friends we associate with and have fun discussing the games and elements of our lives with. I dont think we'll ever stand on complete formality, but the tone of the site needs to stay outside the realm of yuckiness.
