Looks like we got the platform wrong. SingStar: Singalong with Disney is a PS2 game.
What's the next generation of SingStar? You guessed it: SingStar: Singalong with Disney will bring karaoke lovers the classic Disney songs we've all known and loved, with classic Disney movie footage in the background. The enthusiasm in the audience is quite noticeable, looking at Jem's Twitter entry.

Now this news has me beyond happy and possibly my favorite announcement at Leipzig. People know I love Kingdom Hearts a lot because it combines two things I love, Final Fantasy and Disney. I also have a love for SingStar, and being able to sing to many of the Disney Tunes I use to listen to as a kid (especially The Lion King, my favorite animated Disney movie), I'm beyond excited about this. :D
I really hope it comes stateside (I think it will).

That sucks, but I think it might come if licensing goes through. Never count SCEA out on this.
Looks like your dreams still haven't come true, MK. There is always importing though.
I am actually interested in this more than any other karaoke or music game. Seems like it could be a lot of fun especially if you have kids. Everyone with kids or little bother/sister knows these songs backwards and forwards.

I'm sure if I was five I'd be interested in this.

If it was coming to North America, I would've gone crazy.
But its not :(

I can't believe they aren't going to release it in the US. I know it would be very popular in my house (we are huge Disney fans and really like SingStar). I'd even be happy to see it released in Japan if it was in English (with English music like the Japanese DDR games) since I have a Japanese PS2 and a US PS2.

I know this isn't the right topic, but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone know if the SingStar: Queen game is coming stateside? Kotaku had a bit up on it last week, but they never mentioned what region it was being released in.

If that is the case, I am really surprised Konami released DDR Disney Mix in the US. It was released in 2001 before DDR was so mainstream in the US and didn't sell that well, they had to have lost money.

Kotaku had a bit up on it last week, but they never mentioned what region it was being released in.Nope, we'll probably never get it. We haven't gotten a single Queen song yet in the U.S. Store (because of licensing issues here). Queen is the most popular in the U.K. and we can tell there's an issue for it to not come here (some games have a different record label in various regions, where some regions it's easy to get the license while some it's hard and expensive).

It was released in 2001 before DDR was so mainstream in the US and didn't sell that well, they had to have lost money. That was the only DDR Disney Mix they released stateside (there was two actually in Japan). However, that was a time period there was no Buena Vista/Disney Interactive publishing company in gaming. Sony IS pretty cheap with licensing, which is why I assume this (especially SCEA)
