So I sold a SNES bundle on ebay. Someone bought it for $55.00 plus shipping, so $69.99 total. They paid immediately. I clearly stated in my listing in bold underlined text that the buyer should have a confirmed address. I check the PayPal payment and, of course, it is an unconfirmed address. I checked on the buyer's info, and they have been a member for over two years, but only have 7 feedback(all positive).

So my question is, should I go ahead and ship it? Any advice is appreciated.

i wouldn't risk it if i were you. refund the buyer's money and just relist your bundle.

Just send your games with a tracking number.

Contact buyer and request that they "confirm" their address, as your ad indicated. If they refuse, refund his purchase and relist.

I just sent the buyer this message:

I kindly ask that you get your shipping address confirmed with Paypal. I have no protection from a fraudulent chargeback shipping to an unconfirmed address. I'm not saying that you would do that, but it's happened to me before and it's no fun. If you have a problem with this, I will gladly refund your money. Thank you for understanding.

I'm waiting to hear back.

That is absolutely useless if you send to an unconfirmed address.

You aren't suppose to because Paypal then won't cover it if the perosn says the account was stolen, or something happens. No seller protection.

In all my auctions I list this bold and underlined and 5-10% of the people still have unconfirmed addresses. I try to explain that they have to do. About half figure it out and do it, the others just can't seem to grasp it.

I make people do it w/ stuff that is higher priced. Stuff for under 10 bucks I have never bothered cancelling the auction, trying to get FVF back, etc.

Last time I tried to make someone really do it was for a copy of ff7 for 70 bucks. I kept refunding, and telling the person to do it, until finally they just sent a money order instead.

If they would have feedback of 100 or above, I wouldn't think twice. But with only seven, I don't think I want to risk it.

this should never happen in the first place as you can set your paypal account to block payment from unconfirmed address

So I got this reply:

I'm sorry, I had no idea there was such a thing as a "confirmed address". After checking on PayPal, my home address is confirmed, but I was going to have the item shipped to my father's house, which is a different address than the confirmed one on PayPal. Is there any way you can send it to my home address, the confirmed one? If not, I completely understand. The address is as follows:

xxxxxxxx
xxxxx
xxxxx

Just let me know if it's a problem. I'm so sorry for all this! Thanks for being so understanding and nice in your message!

So what should be my next action? Should I refund her payment and have her resend it using the confirmed address?

I don't have a confirmed address and I think that's because I don't have a bank account linked to my paypal account. If their feedback is high enough, I would ship it to them.

do they live in canada? most canadian ebayers don't have confirmed addresses. i've ship to them with no problem (they are my #1 buyers lately). if not, just send it with delivery confirmation. it'll cost you an extra .65

Yes and tell them that you will only ship it to the address on the paypal.

Delivery confirmation is just .18 if you go through PayPal multiorder shipping.

No, the first address was in MD, and the one she says is confirmed is in IL. I just sent her a message saying that I would refund her payment and she could resend it with the right address listed. I'll update when I hear back.

Ok, so I heard back from her. She said to refund her money and she would send it again with the confirmed payment. So I refunded it, and she sent it immediately back with the new address listed. IT"S STILL UNCONFIRMED. I'm just going to assume she's clueless as to how this works, and go ahead with shipping her items.

I look at it like this: if she was a scammer, when I mentioned her first address was unconfirmed, she would realize that I'm hip to the fact about not being protected and I wouldn't take a chance on sending it. Why would she send me another unconfirmed address fully aware that I'm not going to send to anything but a confirmed one unless she has no idea what's going on. Or she could just be persistent in screwing me. :???:

I badly need this money right now. Maybe I'll just send her a message kindly begging her not to rape me.

I usually add postal insurance and delivery confirmation to orders not going to a PayPal confirmed address, whether the person asks for it or not.
