The combat never gets much better, sadly. You get used to the flow of it and it stops being as annoying. The game would have been pretty much perfect if they halved the shooting and doubled the platforming.

I'm really enjoying Uncharted. I'm at about chapter 10 and really, really had fun with the jeep segment where you're blowing the tar out of everyone coming at you.

I do second the request for a little bit less shooting and a little bit more platforming/puzzle solving, but all-in-all it's a really well done game.

But to answer your question about eva , currently the best set available is the Platinum Series , whether it be individual volumes or the boxset. Considering how much ADV loves to release eva though , as well as new movies supposed to be in the works , I wouldn't count out an even better set down the road.

That one is a bootleg. Its listed as 1 disc. The ultimate collection I think had an MSRP of 69.99 (read: WAY TOO MUCH for 6 episodes) but its long OOP. Actually, its in stock at Right Stuf. Theres tons of extras though. It's really the only way to get for the series. You could always wait for a Broccoli sale (which are incredibly rare) or it could hit the Weekly Specials, OR you could get it at an In-Stock sale.

As for Evangelion, the Platinum release is the best AFAIK.

I went to the new GS... no beans. The guys working there transferred from my old Gamestop and are good guys. One of them tells me to call ahead for stuff like this.

So I call a Gamestop that shows MvC2 PS2 in stock and sure enough they guy says they have one copy. So I drive 7 miles out and ask the female (.5/10) cashier. She looks for a copy for literally about 15-20 seconds before she says he (the male cashier) will look. Imagine the goofiest person you have seen in your life, this guy looked like a cartoon character. I wait as he has a conversation with a dad about Soul Calibur IV, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, and Too Human. He was conversing with the guy for about 10 minutes while I was waiting online and another 10 minutes when the woman told me to wait. So he says what are you looking for? And I reply Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PS2. He types something in his computer and says none in stock. I reply I called about 20 minutes ago and you told me you have 1 copy left. He calls someone on the phone, he probably doesn't even dial anyone and reads off the SKU. He then pauses for 20 seconds and tells me again no copies. Now usually I'm a very courteous, I always say please and thank you and try to respectful and helpful in anyway as a customer. So I let out a big HUFF and start walking out. As I'm walking out he exclaims in a kind of gloating tone it's $80. I know how much the game costs you fucking fuck tard. I was going to walk out of your story with it for $52 if you didn't fucking lie to me.

I'm convinced they think that if they can get people into their stores they will somehow be tempted to spend money there regardless. Fuck them.

MK Wii is awesome. I played through the entire game, and I can't see any fan being disappointed.

The only major problem with it is the lack of a classic battle mode. The multiplayer/online lag is an issue for some but I was having too much fun to care.

I know, I blazed through it over the last two days but I see there's a lot of deleted scenes and commentaries so I'm happy. I've already seen season 2 and most of season 3 (I got into it through the TBS reruns, and that's where they are right now). It's easily one of my favorite TV comedies ever.

The small amount of episodes did suprise me, though. Looking at the packaging I knew it couldn't be many, but I figured like, 2 discs cheaply packaged in there. But then I was like, "Seven episodes? What the fuck is this, Spaced?"

MGO= Great idea, shitty execution. It is a tactical game and hardly anyone uses a mic in rando games. You need three different ID to play(PSN, Konami ID and Game ID). I always run into lag and hardly have fun. THe interface for finding friends and joining them so fucking retarded that a half brained monkey could come up with something better. Seriously, I was super hyped, then I played it. It seems like a step back from the first MGO. Minus the awesome graphics.

How topical, though. I just watched End of Evangelion earlier today. It's still really depressing, for whatever reason. I still definitely like the movie about as much as I did last time (which is quite a bit), though it's weird... the characters just seem like their personalities changed overnight. Perhaps it's due to the bleaker tone. And there's a couple things like a certain shot in the beginning that did not need to be there (anyone who's seen it knows what I'm referring to.) Hopefully the EVA movies being made now will sorta smooth End of Evas shit out.

So I really dug the Force Unleashed Demo. Graphics were pretty blah, but the gameplay was really fun. Won't get it at release, but I'll definitely pick this up for >40.

I was very happy to see a preview up on IGN for Divine Divinity 2 (which I guess is wisely just called Divinity 2.) The first game is my favorite computer RPG of all time (perhaps my favorite PC game overall), so I really hope this one is a winner... or at least better than that awful Beyond Divinity. Blech. I just hope that the developer, Larian can wrangle a 3D engine, because so many European companies with decent RPG concepts falter because their game is buggy as shit... usually due to the engine.

So I really dug the Force Unleashed Demo. Graphics were pretty blah, but the gameplay was really fun. Won't get it at release, but I'll definitely pick this up for >40.Same. It'll hold till a significant price break.

Neither contains the movie, but the Platinum version is cleaned up significantly and has 5.1 sound. It's worlds better. I just watched it like a week ago. Perfect collection = useless now.

How topical, though. I just watched End of Evangelion earlier today. It's still really depressing, for whatever reason. I still definitely like the movie about as much as I did last time (which is quite a bit), though it's weird... the characters just seem like their personalities changed overnight. Perhaps it's due to the bleaker tone. And there's a couple things like a certain shot in the beginning that did not need to be there (anyone who's seen it knows what I'm referring to.) Hopefully the EVA movies being made now will sorta smooth End of Evas shit out.

I have played the game on several occasions. All had games of lag. Not constant, but it was noticeable. The last game I played was the best. So it might be improving. But that is still one piece to the horrible puzzle that Konami vomited forth.

What's the difference between the Perfect and Platinum boxsets of Evangelion, other than one having Slimpack Cases? I know you guys said the Platinum Perfect set is the best, but it's very expensive so I'm going to go with one of these.

I thought the movie was good , the only thing I would've liked to have seen from it was shinji go totally insane with the eva , when it activated to full completetion and just looked like the devil floating in the sky , and tear stuff up with it. I suppose I could live with simply the scene of Asuka tearing stuff up with the eva instead. I'm guessing they didn't want to have shinji fight in the eva so as not to dimish asuka's fight?

To stay on topic , played a bunch more FFX today. Made it up to the fight with seymore at the macalonia temple , and the post fight fleeing from the scene. It was kinda dumb though , since the first half of the fight , I had to look up a faq cause of something really obvious I didn't think about when fighting him. Then the second half of the fight was really easy. Then all the other mini fights after that were easy too , leading up the yeti which was surprising hard.

Yeah, I find that I enjoy the NGE manga more than the anime. I need to go pick up volume 9 and 10. But there is really no rush since the artist is taking forever to do the manga. Also, I didn't like hated EoE. It just felt like an afterthought to me. And instead of get the Rebuild of Eva, I'd would love to get a chance to see a few of the NGE novels, or at least the new Evangelion Anima novel.

This was one of my biggest complaints too. It was practically impossible to backtrack until you're almost at the end of the game.

Played about an hour and a half or so of Xenosaga Ep1. Damn this Song of Nepalim or whatever. This dungeon sucks cause you'll run into a group of 4-5 guys and every one of them will attack all of my dudes for good chunks of damage, so if they surprise me and all get free attacks, I'm pretty much screwed. I guess this is as good a place as any to grind a little bit tho.

How long did it take you? I'm at chapter 12 or 13 and If I have more than 4 hours of game left I'm selling it. I can't take any longer than that.

Speaking of Star Wars I finally found a copy of Jedi Power Battles for DC at a local game store yesterday. Fun game.
