I can't even believe they're serious, maybe this guy spoke without authorization or something.

"People who fall for so-called "Nigerian scams (http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060720-7307.html)" aren't victims at all—in fact, they're greedy and should be jailed, according to Nigerian high commissioner Sunday Olu Agbi. He said today that Nigeria has gained a bad reputation because of the scams perpetrated by a minuscule number of people, and that those who find themselves involved with the scams are equally as guilty as those running them."

It's not the worst reputation (http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/archive/nigerian-419-scammers-wins-ignoble-prize-for-literature/) they could have.
and for reference, JJ, the simple past of fall is 'fell'.

What he probably meant is that alot of these scams involve the victim doing something illegal as well.

Well obviously they don't really deserve to be imprisoned, but he does kind of have a point.

And leaders like that is why Nigeria is still a third-world hell hole.

Nigeria has bigger issues to deal with like why they have so many plane crashes killing all their rich people.

I remember some Investigative show, 60 min possibly, where they caught one of the Nigerian scammers and hooked him in. Of course, he came in for an interview, and he admitted that those who fell for the scam should deserve to be scammed for their greed.
