No matter what it is.
2004's "flip-flop" evidently is 2008's "Maverick."
The fuck's so maverick about this guy anyway?

McCain-Feingold bipartisan campaign reform act was kind of maverick-lite. Though it kind of ignores 527s.
McCain-Kennedy on immigration was interesting too. Too bad Romney made it sound like a revolving door was put on the border and millions of illegal immigrants were to become citizens overnight.
In short, he was an open-minded Republican until he realized he needed to win the primaries.
EDIT: open-minded is a bit unfair. I'll go with "centrist" instead.

No doubt about it. But this sort of shit is happening in both camps.
Even now, when I bring up politics with someone and ask about the candidates, two things remain consistent:
1- Nobody can really recite any firm position or plan on any important issue that Obama has. (Not saying he doesn't have any, just that if he does, few people know or care)
2- McCain is just that old guy that they heard will be just like Bush.
Anywho, I've been watching both candidates become more amorphous on many issues as time goes on. It's kind of sickening really. Whatever you believe on an issue, both candidates can now find a way to agree.

Can't deny that McCain is going with the wind on this issue. Still, it's better than Barack's position.
That crooksandliars.com - looks to be a bit leftist? Didn't go through all pages.

oh no abortion is wrong.....who cares how the F does that affect you personally?
Something I never understood about people's ideals, is some doctor performing an abortion going to make you go to hell? Highly unlikely, just like if somehow Marijuana became legal is it going to affect you personally, no...
And for the record since I think both candidates are less then chummy I might be voting 3rd party

I'll vote for the candidate who fixes things here first economically, makes my investments go up, (primarily conservatives), is pro choice, quits dumping money into the war on drugs, and either agrees to blast the middle east to bits or to pull out...

Sounds like you'll never vote.

He's considered a "maverick" (in nice terms) because he backstabs his own party almost all of the time.
"Maverick" in mean terms: A fucking two-timing son of a bitch

C'mon Myke...
For someone that reams people on the forum for posting fickle tidbits from partisan "news" sites... this seems below you.
Flip flopping is nothing new.

C&L is what it is - undoubtedly. The video of McCain speaking for himself, however, is pretty crystal clear.

Yes, well that's where the flip flopping is nothing new comment comes in. I'm sure we can find clips of Obama doing the same thing (FISA comes to mind), both sides do plenty of pandering.

Yeah, pandering is going on on both sides here, as in every election.

I so wish someone would run a McCain "Maverick" ad featuring his pathetic man-hug with Bush.

And to speak of flip-flopping, what of Obama's V.P. pick? It wasn't long ago that Biden was blasting him pretty well.

Already been covered. The Obama supporters simply write it off as run-of-the-mill politicking, and can't be taken seriously.

No kidding.
I bet Tom Brady and Eli Manning really hate each other's guts.
Still.
Because of something I heard one of them say this past January.
You know.

That's just politics. All the candidates blast each other during the primaries, then make up afterward.

You've got to be kidding with that analogy, right? Right ?

Insofar as I'm accusing people of making something out of nothing with regards to Biden's comments on Obama, you betcha.
See if McCain chooses someone he faced in the primary, and I'll buy you a popsicle if they said nothing disparaging about each other.

I'm not sure I understand how Republican infighting makes democrat ideological campaign differences disappear into thin air. My eight year-old son doesn't even make the "everyone else is doing it" excuse anymore. He's learned it doesn't work.

Boy howdy I sure hope Romney is the running mate.
They clearly hate each other based upon these 50 seconds.
