I had to send a package on saturday and i stood in line for more then 25 minutes. Well i got to thinking is there anyway of mailing it right from my mailbox. I dont have the best understanding of the mail system but could i just put a game in a envelope and send it with like 4 stamps on it. If thats possible how many stamps do you think you would need. I would say 4. THANKS.

I'd say yes, you could just put it in an envelope, but that's just my guess. Somebody here will know, but you'll have to find out how much postage is and how many stamps you'd need.

ps one games usually cost about $1.50, ps2 games about $2.00 bucks.

we have this automatic postal service machine (sort of like an atm thing) now, in different areas of the city, maybe you can find one of those, and not wait in line!, other than that, you would have to find out the postage, and put the according number of stamps

yeah but if someone finds out how much one usually is you could always just put one extra stamp just incase the manual was a little bigger.

Get a postal scale and then buy and print the pre-paid postage label from PayPal or USPS.com. Don't have to bother with going to the PO then.

how much do you guys think a ps2 game normally weighs. Or just the amount you guys recomend of stapes. I may just put about 5 stamps on them. Im not buying a post weigher either.

That should be good, most ps2 games (if i rememeber right are 6 or 7 ounces and that will cover 7 via first class. another option is to ship media mail i think that is a little less but everthing under 1 pound is the same price. it is slower 2 though

To ship a PS2 game 1st class costs me $1.52 or $1.75 depending on the weight of the game (varies by game since some have bigger instruction manuals which I guess adds weight) so you will need 5 stamps.

It doesn't just depend on weight, but distance too. If you have to ship at least halfway across the country, definitely place at least 5 stamps. It won't be worth it when they return it to you for insufficient postage.

Some post offices have scales you can use. It still would require a trip to the PO but you won't have to wait in line.

Distance doesn't matter with USPS (i think it might with UPS) so all packages are the same inless of course they are going out of the 48 states

I think it matters with priority mail. Not with first class.

That could be right, i don't remember but chances are OP is looking to ship first class. If OP is looking for Priority the he can print shipping labels with exact price and pay electronically on USPS.com If u go the priority route there is also free delivery confirmation and u can get free shipping supplies. All of those bonuses make Priority a good option to consider.

Whenever I mail games or DVDs, I just grab a few Priority Mail flat rate envelopes and use them. Anything you can fit in the envelope for $3.85, and it gets there super-fast.
