You guys are crazy. It is all about my boy Matt Damon and that Good Will Hunting and Rouders. I will grab Pulp Fiction as well, but Matt Damon is TN, TD.I'll grab Good Will Hunting as well, though Rounders would be a blind buy for me.

Well, I guess that's enough recommendations for me, with you two, and Casey.

Hopefully, they won't dick up the encode on it and it'll look good.

You should see what the post office did to my copy of the new Mummy movie.. holy god.

For the record.. I never opened the package. THATS HOW THE PACKAGE CAME... I SLID THE MOVIE OUT!!

Gees....and I took special care in picking out the best looking slip cover as well free of dents/marks! Kinda funny considering how the last Mummy 3 I had from Universal had a holepunch through the disc (not the normal hole, an extra one!) and that as my replacement from them.

Hope you like DNR....Warner sure likes to coat Newline catalog releases with it.

I don't mind DNR, it's never really been annoying to me, but it was pretty obvious on Wedding Crashers, mostly during a closeup of anyone's face.

I'm watching Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery right now, and I'm really surprised at how great it looks.

How does Zodiac look over the HD version, Gizmo? I may buy it off of you when you're done with it, but I have trouble paying anything over $23 shipped (but I know you won't sell it as that), as a local store sells all new BR movies for $19.99. I'm pretty excited that they put Dexter at $19.99 as well, I blind bought that. Pretty good show so far.

Oh, and I keep asking this every few weeks.. does anyone have Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on BR? Imported from Japan? Are there any reviews or anything? I'm actually considering paying $50 shiped for it since it doesn't look like it will ever be released on BR here.

Zodiac BD looks and sounds identical to the HD DVD IMO. It has a "new" transfer...but to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference when I A/Bed back and fourth (i have two LG 200s hooked up with the same settings). DVDBeaver posted screencaps and the BD does look slightly better, but I had to strain to tell the difference and my screen is not 100"+ big. I'm holding onto my HD DVD (I already sold the BD to someone else, sorry) since the difference is not enough.

As for Eternal Sunshine....wait on importing it. I have a feeling we may see a Jim Carrey 3 pack (Liar, Liar, Bruce Almighty, Eternal) when Yes, Man arrives on DVD/BD *cough* plans may change though *cough*

Anybody got any news on this series coming to America? I'm wondering if it's better to just buy them from Amazon's UK store. It seems the Canadian sets have been discontinued based on availability and a major price hike. The UK sets are shockingly cheap (not sure about shipping) and apparently both the CA or UK sets are region free, or at least good to play on any American player. But now I'm wondering if there's going to be a problem with PAL discs on an NTSC TV.

I guess this question thread could also double as a deal thread. I think both sets run at $25 each, or a double pack for $40 (save $10!) after currency conversion.

If we're talking about The Tudors, like here... http://www.sho.com/site/tudors/home.do ...the boxset for the Second Season came out in the US last Tuesday. The First Season has been out for a fair several months, as well. The first set can be had for a decent price (usually $20 to $25 if you look hard?) and since last week was the first week for the Second Season it went from around $25 or so instead of $40.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the OP is talking about the blu-ray versions, which have been released in the UK and Canada but not here in the US.

I know there hasn't been anything official announced, but I believe the blu-ray versions will show up in America sooner or later. I mean, it's already available everywhere else, and other Showtime series like Weeds and Dexter are on blu-ray, so it's probably just a matter of time.

The name of the show is still "The Tutors", and no where does it say anything about blu-ray so we are supposed to guess what the OP's question was?

Surprisingly for a horror movie it sounds rather good.. nearly as good as "The eye"

Decent flick. the unrated version is only like 20 seconds longer than theatrical apparently.. so anyone whos already seen it.. yeaH.

I have season 1 on blu ray if ur interested. Ive seen it twice. Decent pq/aq.

Its worth an import in my opinion, but since 2 just ended itll be at least 4-5 months before we get word if its coming to dvd/blu ray.

Showtime though has been improving their blu ray.. Dexter season 1 was great as were Weeds. Ive been hoping more for Californication tho :(

Agreed. Itll be AT LEAST 40+ per season.

On a plus side, Mirrors aq/pq was rather good.. aq was booooming. PQ was standard Fox release. Mostly perfect, a few hiccups now and then.. my review of it will be up later @_@ When I dont have college. Which seems like never.

You might get a double dip in maybe another 10 years, since that was basically the gap between the last release and this one.

But, the Japanese release does have DTS-MA instead of TrueHD if it matters to you.

Street dates don't matter in a liquidation. When my store closed down we were selling DVD's that weren't being released for another 9 days. I went to the only CC left near me yesterday to use up some gift cards. I was hoping they would have the Bourne Trilogy or least KK but their shipments were halted. Sucks since I was holding on to those GC's specifically for Bourne.

On HD DVD, yes. It can be had for $8 or so on eBay. Its a Combo titles as well so it might show up at Ralphs/Krogers in the future.

Amazon has been for a while as long as they are region free. You can buy American Pie or The Goonies right now for instance.

Though, $120 for 4 films is a lot...the boxset will likely be $70 or so

Wow, news to me. $30 for a movie is too much though.

Each 29.99 with free shipping.

Hope this turns out to be a new trend. I wouldn't mind picking up Batman Forever...as cheesy as it was, it's a good movie.

The best deal on the UK BATMANs is easily the 4-disc LEGACY Box-Set coming out in March.

It ends up being $49.34 shipped for all four movies if you pre-order it from Amazon UK and don't mind waiting a few weeks.

Certainly will be a better deal than the $70-$90 the US set will command, and all you get extra in that is a digital copy of the first BATMAN if some of the press releases are accurate.

Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I can't seem to find a list of future blu-ray release dates anywhere. Is there something like that available?
Just asking because, I have no rational explanation, but every single day for the past 2 or 3 weeks, I find myself thinking "I wonder if Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is going to release on blu-ray?".

I can't imagine what triggered the thought, but I can't get it out of my head!

Both sites bluray.com and highdefdigest.com are good sites to go to for reviews and release dates. I have been disappointed with HighDefDigest lately because they have been lacking on the reviews and the ones they do have are movies most of us do not care about.

I was really disappointed with Saw V. I expected a lot more killing. It was nice to get some of the storyline explained from the first four, but not enough going on to keep you interested. Hoping for a better experience with Saw VI later this year.

What part is autographed and is it just printed on it or is it actually kevin smiths signature?. I really would not want to buy it and the wrap be signed and not be able to open it with out destroying the signature. To me his signature is not worth the extra. If I wanted his signature I would order something from there with it that chances are it would not come off of.

Just got finished. Great video.. amazing audio quality.. but it auto started (i figured it didnt have a menu) and had it on dolby digital for a good 30 minutes until i realized it wasn't the high-def audio.. switched it over.. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Overall though I didnt enjoy it.. it wasnt my type of film i guess. not enough action.. a little too long too.. its roughly 2 hours.

A local mom n pop shop. They sell all new release blu's for cheap. On a small side note, we are in need of some reviewers to handle DVD releases (and possibly a Blu-ray release every once and a while) for our website. The titles vary - some will be major releases, some Direct to video, some TV on DVD and as I said, possibly a Blu-ray here and there. We do have some guidelines - must have a 5.1 system, 32" HDTV or better, and at least an Upconverting DVD Player (Blu-ray player would obviously be fine as well). The reviewer would get anywhere from 2-20 titles a month and expected to send a review in with-in 10 days of receiving the title. If this interests anyone please PM me here.

The new DC DTV is a Wonder Woman feature, and it's supposed to be decent.

There's gonna be a :br: special edition that comes with an exclusive Wonder Woman action figure, shown here:

http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=view&album=Mattel%2FWonder_Woman_DVD_Figure&pic=WW_SEBB_BD_3dBDGiftSetdoll.jpg&dispsize=600&start=0

Since it's an exclusive figure, you could probably sell the figure off to help defray the cost.

Unfortunately, there's no new of who is carrying the :br: SE yet.

Tons of new Blu-rays announced for Canada only...as usual, here is my thread detailing it.

While searching on Amazon.ca I found several "exclusive" releases found only in Canada. With some already released, and more coming, I figured I would make a small list for those interested. I've bought several releases so far and if anyone else has some of the ones below please comment on them. Most of these releases sell for 12.95 - 17.95 and with the exchange rate, they only add up to a typical USA catalog release.

Already Released:
* Amelie - (1080i, No Subtitles, Poor Menu Navigation; French TrueHD only) with special features
* A Nightmare on Elm Street (TrueHD) (Heavy DNR...USA Release likely to be the same transfer due to it being Warner/Newline) NO special features
* Black Christmas (2006 version) with special features
* C.R.A.Z.Y. (1080i, French TrueHD only) with special features
* Cruising Bar 2 (special features unknown)
* Fido (1080i with TrueHD) with special features
* From Dusk Till Dawn NO special features
* Freddy Vs. Jason (DTS MA) NO special features
* Hostage (1080p - box says 1080i but its a mistake) NO special features
* In a Galaxy Near You (Dans une galaxie près de chez vous 1 & 2) (special features unknown)
* Seed of Chucky (1080i, DTS MA, AVC - Believed to be Rated cut)
* Slither (AVC 1080i with TrueHD / For Comparison, the HD DVD was VC1 1080p with DD+) with special features
* Sin City NO special features - Confirmed for a USA Release in 2009
* The Constant Gardener (DTS MA) with special features
* The Butterfly Effect (DTS MA) Theatrical Cut (1 Hour 54 Mins) NO special features
* Young People F***ing with special features

I finally got around to watching Zack and Miri.. are they serious.. FOURTY THREE deleted scenes?! They made an entire movie out of deleted scenes.. the deleted scenes combined is literally six minutes shorter than the actual movie (95 minutes of deleted scenes versus the actual movie, which is 101 minutes). It may actually be longer if you count out the time of the credits in the main movie.. It gives a lot of backstory and adds a lot of hilarity. Insane.

Zack: "Big trouble in little vagina!"
*Customer's young girl laughs; mother walks away in disgust*
Zack: "Shame she's not 18, she gets me.."

Bubbles: Wait, there's a big finish.
*Brown bubble pops up*
Zack (whispering): "That's a fart!"
*Bubbles puts her lighter under the bubble, flicks it on, and the fart pops in a ball of fire*

I just ordered my PS3 today and am looking for Blu-Ray movies but wanted to know which were worth the added cost.

That site and this thread have both been bookmarked and I'll soon be expanding my collection beyond the free Blu-Ray I'm getting with my PS3. Its "Monty Python's Life of Brian" if you care.

Sigh. Ive tried watching THE PINK PANTHER on blu-ray twice now to finish my review of it.

I seriously want to bang my head against the wall. Steve martin is not freaking funny.

I still don't understand why people aren't grasping this even from the previews of the first one. What I still for the life of me don't get is who said the first one was so good it warranted a sequel...?

Well, the sequel tanked, so at least we won't have anymore.

This movie is dreadful.

STEVE MARTIN IS NOT FUNNY DAMNIT

Considering a lot of the people that WERE funny I guess that's the way it is these days.

Amazon delivered my copy of Donnie Darko yesterday...I was just reading the back of the box and noticed that Kevin Smith does a commentary on the Director's Cut with Richard Kelly. That could be very cool.

The cover art of Frank made out of smoke is amazing, too. Beautifully done.

So the BD for Donnie Darko both versions of the film? I think that warrants a purchase, then!
