Hey guys, I've been scouting around for a new copy of VP2 (aka Valkyrie Profile Silmeria). It's been clearanced by a lot of places, so if I can find it somewhere in-store, I could probably get a good deal...

Unless that happens though, I'd settle for the current suggested retail price ($19.99) or less. Only problem is that I can't seem to find it in any B&Ms, and I see things online like $35 at Amazon and even $49.99 still at some sites. :-s

If anybody can help me out, that'd be great. Especially if I can somehow make use of a Labor Day deal or something. :D

Also, another semi-related question: which stores can "order in" games? I had heard places like Game Crazy might be able to (I've never visited one, so I wouldn't know). Alternatively, are most retailers able to ship in copies from other store branches? For instance, some rather out-of-the-way Gamestops [claim] to have new copies of VP2, but I can't afford that much gas (then again, I'm not fond of dealing with GS in general, since one of said copies has already been confirmed to be pre-played )

Very sorry for this confusing mess, thanks a lot.

i actually have a new/sealed copy of this, but the cheapest i would be willing to go on it would be $26 shipped, because i know i could get that much credit on goozex... and slightly more on ebay.

your best bet is kmart if you want it for cheap... unless it's been zeroed out by now (no idea). as for places ordering it, i think that it's out of print, so i wouldn't think that would be an option.

A lot of Walmarts have them, but I think they are charging $30 for it? If you a local one you might want to check.

Thanks for the help, fellows. :)

Does anybody know if places like Gamestop can ship over copies from another store branch, though? Like mentioned previously, the GS inventory checker thing says that some faraway GSes have "new", and even though I dislike pre-played or "display" copies, I might be willing to deal if it's in top condition... so if I could get one of the said stores to ship over a copy to my local GS, that would probably work out the best right now.

I'll also be checking out Wal/K-mart as suggested. Thanks again.

(Sorry, didn't want to put in another reply so I'll just edit it in here:)

I got my copy at Kmart for $12 :)

How recently did you get it? I'm sure it's YMMV regardless. Looks like I better attempt a trip there soon then. Thanks.

It's $9.98 at TRU, if your local one has any copies left.

even though they're owned by B&M, a company that does do things like this, i don't think they transfer items between stores.

Wal-Mart is actually down to $19.82 for this title. I just saw it there today (along with Xenosaga 3 and Shining Force EXA for the same price).

You should buy this one...remember tax and gas...this is right to your door!

That's a really good point, considering that I came home empty-handed from a Toys R Us yesterday. (This one didn't have a clearance bin, and I didn't see any among the limited regular PS2 selection... do they ever keep any clearance titles in the back? Or are they always lumped into a bin? That might help my search. :/)

Thank you guys for all your help. I'm going to try my luck and search around just a little more, but if it doesn't turn out, I'll be sure to keep your offer in mind zenintrude. :)
