EBGames can't be telling me I have to cut out my UPC for $10 rebate?

The $10 credit from EBgames says you must send in the original UPC? I'm not cutting my Ninja Gaiden cover to get that UPC code! What the hell is up with that?

They allow photocopies, ive done it more than once. You cant duplicate packing reciept(if you ordered online) so you can only send them once.

yes, removing that little 1.5" square on the back lower corner of the case would ruin the integrity of the game. I wouldn't be able to even play the disk as that missing rectangle would constantly haunt me.

I can understand why someone wouldn't want to cut the insert in the case.

A lot of gamers are also game collectors and even though it's really not a big deal, EB should realize people aren't going to want to cut the insert.

i wouldn't want to cut it either... when i buy a game from like blockbuster, i have to pick off the stickers and make the game look as nice as possible

I have the same blockbuster phobia! I hate those damn stickers. They are getting tougher to get off too. Damn you blockbuster! Oh yeah lets put blockbuster stickers on the cd too that'll really get em ha ha ha.

oh yeah i HATE the stickers on the disk. the worst part about them is that if you take them off it ruins the game. i learned that with the game crash bandictoot 2 for psx...

my obi wan for x-box got ruined cause of them! I tried to take it off and it pulled the whole logo off too. I had a shiny dic on both ends! Then it started to get spining out of control in the box and wouldn't play! I couldn't get it all off and it got heavy on one side and not they other. Im just gald it didn't ruin my x-box I woulda had to bust some heads on that on. Its funny though soon after that there was a class action law suit aginst blockbuster for that very reason. I mighta got some money if it had happened though. probily only 20.00 bucks or so but hey thats a new cheap ass game!

I had the same problem with the sticker peeling off. I bought Turbo Prop Racing for PSX and I started to peel the Blockbuster sticker off of the disc and it did start to lift the game label off the disc so I stopped.

At least they seem to be better with keeping stickers off everything since I bought Maximo for $5 last year and the disc and case were in perfect condition.

Its not just gamers with anal retentiveness/ obessive compulsiveness etc. If you really think about it, there's some item or object that you are protective of and want in perfect condition, be it your clothes, signed game ball, face, girlfriend, i dunno. Here on CAG its understandable as having a cut up game box can drastically lower resale or trade value

I look at it this way: would you cut a coupon out of a comic book? No. Why? Because the resell value degrades, of course. If you wanted to eventually maximize your resell value on, say ebay, people will pay more for MINT items. And that includes everything that originally came with the game.

Which is why I never understood why Gamestop and EB would tell me that they always throw away the boxes and instructions that come with trade-ins on N64 games and gameboy games. A few stores did keep them, and I would always notice that those games sold a lot more quickly than just a cartridge by itself. These stores should've done some more research into this...

I love Game Crazy, their stickers peel right off the case. But for those nasty ones that don't. use a hair dryer on it (low setting). The glue softens and they peel right off. A little laquor thinner removes any left behind stickies.

I think one of the reasons Blockbuster quit putting stickers on their DVDs and games was because it unbalanced the disk, which can damage your DVD player/console.

As for cutting off the UPC, Disney screwed me on a similiar deal. I bought my niece and nephew Disney DVDs for Christmas under the impression that I would get a free DVD. It turned out, my receipt was not enough, they wanted the UPC too. I didn't want to give the kids opened movies with a piece of the cover cut off, so I missed out on the free DVD offer.
