I want some cheap, but good 5.1 computer speakers to use with my system/game consoles. Preferably around the $50> point. Any suggestions?

I wanna know if the z640 support DPLII.

5.1 for $50 bucks. You can get a little (I think 30 watt) system from Wal-Mart for around that price. Sound isn't high end quality but it's cheap and will suffice if you simply want louder, more encompassing sound.

You can catch the Logitech G51 set for $70 AR occasionally if you don't need them right now.

refurb for $35. Decent speakers, very worth that price.

wow... $70? Is any computer speaker worth that price? the 2.1 system im using right now(Altec Lansing vs2121) was just $14.99(msrp 49.99), but im thinking that i should get better ones. What difference do more expensive speakers have(for someone who have never had more expensive audio equipment than $30 headphones)

Blackbird there are alot of differences in quality of speakers. I have a Sony 5.1 system (450w), a Logitech z680 (400w), and a Bose 5.1 system. I'll tell you the sony and logitech is no where sound as good as the bose. The bose gives more crystal sound. If you happen to listen to opera music (Mozart, Beethoven) you will feel like you're in the concert itself lol. $50 won't get you anything with quality for 5.1 really unless you find someone that just want to get rid of their stuff and doesn't know values of the item. Like my uncle bought a really decent 5.1 Logitech 640 from someone on local ad for only $50 while it worth voer $100 =). If i was you i rather save up some more money and get something better (around $100-150) You should look into logitech z5500 sometime it would go as low as $150 with rebates and stuff.

yo! is this a good deal? $89.99 after rebate for the G51. I don't know how good logitech's rebates are though...

I got the Logitech X-540 from Amazon a few weeks ago, and it is well worth the price. One problem is that the rear speaker outputs emits a bubbling-type sound. I am not exactly sure why this is, possibly because of the matrix feature to simulate the surround sound. If anyone knows a solution to this, it would greatly be appreciated.

my budget is significantly reduced now... It has to be under $100...
BTW, do these systems support Dolby pro logic II if i connect my wii?

Blackbird don't even bother with the 530 or 540. Those have really crap subwoofer. get this

or if you can find the Logitech Z-680 set. They're discontinued now so it's pretty hard to find them. But this z680 set is almost as good as the z5500 for half the price.

Nevermind. The biggest ting is that it has to support DPLII. Old models are fine.
wow, actually, i can't use the X-540 because of no DPLII support. Anything old that is cheap but good?
