$3.3 Trillion in proposed tax cuts.

$18 Billion in cut spending through vetoed earmarks

$unknown growth through higher income tax revenue via your employer's health care subsidy becoming taxable income on your paycheck.

Can someone provide mathematical evidence for how McCain's plan is not an economic disaster?

EDIT: http://www.madison.com/tct/news/304787

Ok, McCain's people suggest a more, er, modest $600 Billion in cuts. I'm still not seeing the math balancing itself here.

Come on. By the Hurricane McCain makes landfall into the US economy, Hurricane Bush will have done all the possible damage.

Hurricane McCain will just wash away the bodies.

I expect better from you, myke. Please show the class how 3.3 billion in tax cuts come from, and over what period of time. Remember to show your work.

I'm not saying mcCain's not an idiot, I just think it's uncharacteristic of you to put faith in the fantasy world of media reported numbers which are, most assuredly, exaggerated or manipulated for affect.

I suppose Alan Greenspan's estimates are off, then.

How silly of me.

its not greenspans estimates, its a number thrown out in the article for reference. plus, i could care less what he has to say, he was the chairman of the fed, and i hate the fed.

Well today when the market was ONLY down 300 points he said that the basic economy is strong.

So to him nothing is a disaster.

Maybe when we dip below 10K it'll be a disaster.

More $600 stimulus checks for everyone!

McCain is pushing for a backdoor middle class tax hike.

I can't wait. I'm gonna get a shotgun and use it on the rioting hordes beating down my door.

I heard McCain saying the fundamentals of the economy are sound.

I think somebody in the lifeboats on the Titantic made a similar comment.

Yes. But the article doesn't point out McCain's shell game.

That he wants to classify employer-paid health care subsidies as taxable income.

Shrinking your paycheck and giving the gub'mint more money!

Now, I understand he has to pay for his tax cuts for the rich somehow, so I appreciate the insignificant, but conscientious, approach he has taken to recognize he's got to cover his ass on the tax cuts for the rich.

Bah, just like I said in the $400 billion deficit thread, McCain's math is severely lacking, as is Obama's, when it comes to budgeting. Cutting $18 billion in earmarks isn't a reasonable solution, nor are tax increases that only cover a minuscule portion of promises doled out left and right.
