I'm hoping for some 25$ on a couple of titles (SMG)
I'm still super angry about missing the game I wanted on the PS3 goldbox,

yeah I'm personally hoping for super paper mario for $25 or less. We'll probably just get stuck with petz titles and cooking sims though. Yeehaa!!:whee:

Ugh.
I'm just thinking about how fast Fire Emblem went last time. Either the games will suck, or a lot of people will miss out because Amazon gets extremely glitchy during most of these all day videogame Gold Boxes.

Great news, last time they had this I picked up Ghost Squad for $16, awesome purchase. I'd love to see Metroid Prime or Umbrella Chronicles for $20 or less this time around.

Lol. Exactly, rainking. Exactly.
Eh, at least it was fun sitting in front of the computer, waiting for the countdown on the previous deal to end, only to see the next appear and not be able to get it cause it's already been sold out. Then seeing the resulting posts on here from people who had the same thing happen to them.
Ah well. We'll all see on Friday, I guess. Here's hoping. :D

Honestly, I wouldn't mind shovelware mixed in, since there's still some games that would be considered in that category that I haven't played that I'd like to try. I like to give everything a chance.

Boom Blox for $20 ftw! I think I would bit even at $29 just don't think it's worth full retail. Seems like this would be a big hit at least from previous comments today!

At first, I was disappointed with Boom Blox and thought it was not worth retail too. As I gave it more chances, I discovered that there is much more to the game that actually does merit full retail (if you like these kinds of games, granted) [;
Best of luck on the sale!

What's the dealy on shipping? Can you, say, order 2 separate Gold Box deals at different times and then later combine the shipping on the orders so they ship for free with Super Saver Shipping? Anyone ever tried that? I mean, it might be possible since it takes them a while to confirm your order anyway.

It might be possible to combine two orders with other shipping methods, then change the shipping method of the new order to Super Saver, but I've never tried that.

I know when they had the previous Nintendo Gold Box deal, all items qualified for free super saver shipping and were shipped for free.

Don't they usually give out clues to what could the games be???
this stinks that we can't guess... just requires more people to hound the servers in the mystery game of failure.

I know when they had the previous Nintendo Gold Box deal, all items qualified for free super saver shipping and were shipped for free.
This is true. The non-Gold Box price is used to determine shipping. As most of the games tomorrow will have regular prices greater than $25, they will qualify for FS.
Also note that by adding one of these games to your cart, you have effectively put a 'claim' on the item, which is good for the rest of the day. You can then checkout with all of your claims in one order.
They post the clues the day of. So, when the first deal rolsl around at 3AM EST, all of the clues will show up. Lightning Deals will probably have the items revealed anyway, so no guessing really needed.

I think a bunch of us are overoptimistic on the prices. We had SMG last time at 35 (and worth every penny I may add), and if we get it again, I'm guessing it's the same price point, maybe a 32.99 or 29.99.
I'd lurve to see Boom Blox too, but I think a 30 price point is most realistic there (especially since we haven't seen a significant drop on it yet IIRC). Other than that, the less shovelware, the better.

I don't know, it seems like 50% off is about the max for these system specific Gold Box days. The Wii ones in the past have been less off if they were first party Nintendo. We might see some $25 games in the mix.

So I could add items during the day and checkout at the end and still get the gold box prices?

So I could add items during the day and checkout at the end and still get the gold box prices?
The way it worked in the past as long as you are able to hit the claim button and see it in your cart as long as you checkout before the end of the day you'll get the price. Now if Amazon pulls the listing as being sold from them and only has their partner companies like Target and JR selling it, then you won't get that price as it will likely dump it out of your cart saying it's not available.

Last wii goldbox I failed to secure smash brothers because it was the 'deal of the day' and not a 'lightning deal' so they sold out before I checked out. The fact that I put smash brothers in my cart at the very start of the thing meant nothing apparently. You only put your 'claim' lightning deals I believe.

Except for No More Heroes which is already pretty cheap there isn't any quality titles. You'd think that they could maybe give us two decent games out of eight.
8 games...and 1 is good (OK, Mercury Meltdown isn't bad either). Sigh...they need to have more of these promotions for Xbox 360/PS3 games, the Wii/DS games they put up seem to be mostly garbage. Come to think of it, maybe it's about time they have a general PC gold box sale...I mean they had one just for Blizzard games.

This is the worst all-day Goldbox pricing and selection for any system ever. The games aren't terrible, but most of them are mediocre. For the older titles, I expected lower prices.
NMH is pretty good, but at other retailers (maybe even on Amazon, I don't remember), it was available for that price.
The other games on the list are not too exciting to me. I would pick up LLWSB '08, but not at $30.
I'm tempted to buy the pinball game because of the solid reviews, but I'm waiting for the $10 price point to bite on it.
I would rather have older AA or AAA titles at between $18 to $30 all day than this junk. I think Amazon wants to clear out most of these games because they aren't big sellers. I think if more than four of these titles are 100% claimed (including the DotD), then people are crazy.

If I'm not mistaken, NMH is already $27 used at Gamestop, so if you have this week's 20% off coupon along with EDGE, you'd be paying about $19, and you'd not have to worry about shipping. If you're only interested in NMH, this is probably the way to go.

Jeez, aside from Ryman and NMH, that list pretty much demonstrates the crappiness of most Wii titles.

Was the control an issue for you? I played wiimote only maybe once. I didn't have a terrible experience, but being the owner of a classic controller, I used that. I've found it to be a very enjoyable game. Easy to pop in and play a few puzzles then put down. A lot of levels too, if I recall.

damn I would've liked No More Heroes for under $10...isn't there a source that tells what the lightning deals and DOTD are days before (game related or not)?

Thanks op. Got in on this deal for NMH and FC
WTH!? I had No More Heroes in my cart for 19.99. Came back later to look for something to bring my total up to $25 for free shipping and then when I went to check out, No More Heroes is coming up as $27???
Didn't everyone say if you kept it in your cart it would keep the price for the day?

Edit: Eh, got them to fix it. I got a little worried there though.
The game would show up at the regular price and the expected discount would show up as a coupon. You don't need to keep the game in the cart in order to secure the discount. All you need is to have claimed the discount in the lightning deals section, which would place a coupon in your account that is good till the end of the day.

No, if there was amazon would be in trouble cuz someone would be leaking info.
Sites only know around 3:10am eastern time.

So, I'm sitting here with My Word Coach in my cart, but I need something for $10.02 to push it to $25. I have William's pinball already. Ideas?
After searching for a long time, I found Police Quest Collection (PQ1-4, updated for Windows) for $12.59. Great price, shipped, and got me to $25. SWAT 4 was awesome. King's Quest 5 was awesome. Hope this some kind of old-school hybrid.
Next time I'll hold all my lightning deals until the end of the day so they give each other Super Saver Shipping...
