WOW Blockbuster stock up almost 32% Thursday up another 4% friday WTF

seems like a lot of buys towards the end. Dont really see any news WHY....

Love to see this happen again tomorrow. I got more shares at 2.75 few months back and would love to dump them and break even

Not when you wait for the sale. Every few months they drop the 3 for $20 and make them all 4 for $20. They have lots of new releases for sale.

There was a massive short covering rally. Everything flew higher, especially shares that had been heavily shorted.

I found out why to. Blockbuster changed their policy on dvd renting to only ten days after the original and not 30 days. I have to pay for $80 worth of movies now.

This move had absolutely NOTHING to do with the actual business, or lack thereof, at Blockbuster.

This move was simply the result of a government backed short squeeze that sent every heavily shorted stock, actually about 95% of all stocks, quite a bit higher.

If you've got nice profits, take them or at least adjust your stops accordingly because these moves are likely to retrace in the next 2 weeks after everything gets back to normal.

Lucky... My Blockbuster sucks I guess. I've never seen a movie for under 3 or 4 bucks.

Trust me the only movie there that didn't look like little kids in their backyard made it was American Dreamz. i didn't buy any of them. If there was anything worthwided I would have posted it.

Blockbuster's rental business is shit. However, they have the best used DVD prices on fairly recent releases than anywhere else if they're doing the aforementioned sales. I use it occasionally to pick up good movies that I wouldn't pay $20 for, as they've never gone on sale elsewhere (generally smaller/indie releases).

I know Blockbuster has these new concept stores in mind, designed to get shoppers to hang around in the lounge, purchase food and drinks, game, and access free wi-fi. Not my cup of tea, though. Blockbuster has never been a place I want at which I want to hang out.
