Tempted to grab Clear Sky, but I've heard noises that it has limited activation DRM bullshit like Spore and Mass Effect. Guess I'll try to poke around and try to verify that, so if I do end up ordering maybe they'll get it in the mail on Friday.

$2.99 for one item. And meh, it sounds like the game has quite a few problems, but for an action/adventure game it still sounds like it has enough going for it to play through once. The developers are also considering updating the Xbox 360/PC versions to have some of the features that the upcoming PS3 version will have that smooth out several of the original game's quirks, but that's still up in the air at this point.

Well I'm playing through AitD right now. I'd say <20-25ish would be a fair price for it. At first it was very frustrating and everything felt awkward as hell. I've also hit some spots with unforgiving checkpoints and unexplained deaths graphic glitches etc.

I've worked through them and have gotten pretty good at the controls, the glitches don't seem to be so bad now either. I think it's more of an initial impression type thing.

Overall it feels like an unfinished game, like it needs more polish/ bugtesting. Like it was rushed. But it has also really sucked me in, and is starting to feel like a great game. I'd say $10 is definetly worth it. Give it a try and stick through a couple of chapters, if anything its an obtainable 1000 gamerscore.

Heh, figures, AITD sells out literally 10 minutes before I get online and see this, haha, I have the best luck.

Anyway, it's not that bad, I beat it (and got 1,000 / 1,000 in it), if they fix a few things, like they are supposed to be doing when the PS3 version comes out (the X360 version is supposed to get a patch that has all the fixes the PS3 one does) then it could be a great game.

Right now, it's just mediocre. It has it's fun parts. It has it's annoying parts, and when I say annoying... I mean ANNOYING. For $10, it's worth it. My maximum buying price for it would be $15 (maybe $18 shipped), I wouldn't say it's worth anymore - so this price would have been perfect, if not for the fact I missed it by ten minutes, haha.

This deal has been nothing but a headache for me so far. I made my first order at 8:45am AZ time, and 30 minutes later I got an e-mail stating this:

I bought AITD 2008 for the PC a few weeks ago, when Gogamer had it on sale.

Honestly, I find the game can be very good...at times. The story, voice-acting, and music whatnot are pretty good. This has kept me from tossing the game off my hard drive, basically -- despite many often rough edges around the game. This game is at its best when it's doing the survival horror action stuff (like Silent Hill when in 3rd person or any shooter when in first person) or doing some platforming (like say PoP) -- that is when it's great.

But there are so many other frustrations, that really damage the game. Most of them, are design flaws and technical stuff. There's definitely some stuff they should fix, in a patch.

Securom Protected with Revokes
It's annoying to have to activate a SP game, that's for sure. You have a limited install amount allowed (of game can be activated on two different PC's, which is not too many), but (thankfully) they can be revoked. See this FAQ for more details. (https://www.aitdunlock.com/faq.php)

Car Physics
The car driving levels -- the physics are just not very good. It's just too easy to barely touch the controls to turn the car and it goes WAY out of control. Fixing that alone could fix the car-driving levels, I think.

KB/Mouse
For the KB/mouse -- if you can get the game to configure your controls to the way you like it, which can be a royal pain in the neck, it's fine for first person perspective -- b/c you can mouse-look and all of that. That's good. :)

But, in third-person, the cam is locked -- which is not good at all. It's very awkward with the KB/mouse -- and very frustrating; especially once you jump out of first-person w/ mouselook. It just is not consistent. Plus, swinging your weapon by moving the mouse isn't that great. Unlocking the cam to move with you when you move the mouse would solve this (like most games in 3rd person do).

X360 Controller for PC
When configuring controls, to get the X360 controller to actually work, you have to pick any control selection to reconfigure in the Gamepad configurations. Then, hit a button on your 360 gamepad. Then, it'll ask you if you'd like to use X360 for gamepad? Say yes. There you go. It's all configured for you. But, one problem -- if you want to reconfigure your X360 gamepad controls, too bad b/c you can't.

But, here's what also is not that great -- you can't switch b/t using gamepad (ideal for third-person perspective here since the cam's locked in 3rd) and KB/mouse (for mouselook for first-person). Either the game recognizes one or the other. You can't have it both ways, which is a damn shame...

This game is most consistent for me when I am often switching b/t first and third with the X360 gamepad. This is what I use to play this game -- and it's fine. I'd prefer first-person with the KB/mouse, but hey -- this works good enough for both switching b/t first-person and third-person.

DVD Skipping Feature
So, yeah -- the DVD feature to skip pieces is definitely a good idea here, since the game's linear as can be. Only level I skipped so far was the Museum puzzle, where you have to find your way to the other side of the caged room by destroying a monster on the other side, somehow -- yet, there's a great where a monster comes back and forth and licks the blood off the ground. I just could never past that; so that is the only piece I skipped so far.

Ended up only ordering UT3. Turns out Clear Sky DOES have DRM, so I skipped that. Then I decided even $7 for LotRO wasn't worth it since I don't know anyone who plays, and playing an MMO by yourself is pretty god-awful.

I explained my situation and the guy confirmed it's something they are having a problem with when paying with Paypal. I told him they should have had this set before allowing this problem to occur. I canceled my order and we'll see how fast they get my money back into my Paypal account. The dude said a couple of days.

Quickest shipping I have ever had from them, but I think they ship from somewhere in California (maybe even Southern California) so it's not that far. I've always had good experiences with gogamer, I've probably ordered from them 20+ times since they have such great PC deals every week.

Today I let it ring forever and just sat the phone down until it just stopped ringing on it's own, after about 5 minutes. I then called back and somebody answered on the 4th ring. They must have like 1 chick answering the phone and she's spending most of her time talking to her boyfriend on her cel.

Just don't worry about it. Dirt cheap shipping is supposed to take a while, and it was a pretty high demand item. It's only been 3 business days so far, and dirt cheap is supposed to take 7-15, whether others have been getting it already or not.

The tracking itself is usually useless; I've had the "processed and left our Santa Ana, CA facility" message since early Tuesday or so. No updates.

My order was not shipped until the 23rd and since receiving a tracking number I have not received new information on its location except that it was shipped from Bell, CA.
