Do we really need spoilers for stuff from the 1st season? I'd think if someone decides to start the show on Season 3, there isn't much point in holding back.

I love how this season the show just drops and and all pretense and just becomes a total blood and fuckfest with some good story-telling mechanics thrown in for good mesure.

I love it.

I just caught up with the new series. I like the way its going but the wolves seem pretty weaksauce so far. Bill took on a load of them and they didnt do shit to him. BTW am I the only one here that finds Pam super hot. Too bad she doesnt get more screen time

I think they should do her origin, or at least a flashback or two .

Finally, some strippers boobs. That one that Bill chose was smokin'. I'm surprised that Sookie is getting naked more often now. Maybe she has a new no nudity clause in her contract.

As for Pam, she's a good character, but I don't find her as attractive as the other cast members.

A few noted on this season thus far:

- I think Sam's family is the most interesting subplot this season. I really wanna see where thos goes with the whole dogfighting development. If that's true, then his parents are fucking monsters.

- Franklin basically turned out to be a one-dimensional stalker with a crush character. Seriously, there's nothing more to him than 'WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME?! I'M GONNA FORCE YOU TO LOVE ME! I'm glad Tara based his fucking skull in.

- I don't like that new chick Jason is into at all. She has a jawline that would put M. Bison to shame. It's really fucking distracting. He's definitely been with infinitely hotter women. On that same note, I want sexoholic Jason back, dammit! I don't like all the different stuff they've tried to do to him over the last few seasons. I mean I knwo he's gotta develop, but him being a womanizer was a big part of his charm.

- I hope they haven't completely dropped the notion of Lafayette and the doctor. He remains my favorite character, and it's nice to see him with a love interest.

- Arlene is absolutely fucking irritating this season. She's basically devolved into an over-the-top racist. Most her her interactions with Jessica had me facepaling myself into oblivion. Most of the time I ket thinkign to myself "Jeeze I wonder how she'd react if a straight black man or an Arab worked at the bar."

- Interesting new development with Eric. I don't think he;s totally turned his back on the everyone. I think he's just keeping up the ruse until he has a chance to exact his revenge on the King, and it looks like he may just get that chance in the next episode.

- I REALLY wanna know what fuck Sookie is already. Reading minds is one thing, but some glow that launches people across the room has me on the edge of my seat.

This past week's episode was crazy awesome, and I'm I'm absolutely stoked to see next week's thanks to the preview.

P.S. Ya know, I always thought that Jessica was just kinda good-looking, but this season...damn, just DAMN! Smokin' hot. And now that's she's in that Merlott's uniform :drool::drool:

shieryda
07-27-2010, 12:37 PM
All I know is that Sookie is definitely going to need some vamp blood to heal her ass after Lorena tore the shit out of her neck. I predict that Eric will somehow come to her rescue either before or after he's exacted revenge on the King.

I don't think Eric will let any harm come to the Queen, Sookie, Bill (even though he's already pretty fucked-up) or the chick that the Magister is holding hostage (I can't remember her name). He's playing both sides to get what he wants.

I want to see that chick that Eric was banging again!

I saw the terms "pimped out" being used to describe what his parents also do to him in future eps, so I guess that means they have Tommy fuck other dogs for breeding purposes?

The dad used the mom for breeding. That's why she said her back couldn't take it anymore. Tommy is probably just used in the fighting. I at first thought that Tommy was being molested by the dad, but I don't think that's the case anymore.

definelty the gayest episode to date. had to cut off the sound and look away alot. surprised eric went for his revenge so soon i thought that wouldnt happen till the end of the season.

i wonder why they dont deal more with how freaky it has to be for those who know to know theyre surrounded by all this monster shit. werewolves, shifters, vampires, greek immortals. so far the only person whose acted like id think most people would was the old sheriff.

btw jason and sookie are fuckin retards i spend most of the episodes wishing theyd die already for all the dumb shit they do.

I guess you guys missed the last 30 seconds of the episode then? I thought that kinda made up for it. ;) Actually, I thought the last 10 minutes of the episode was pure bad ass. Really, there was nothing wrong with the entire episode. I knew the reasoning Eric was getting close to Talbot. I didn't think he'd take it quite THAT far, but meh...that actually follows the books more accurately anyway. I still say any scene with Tara in it is more obnoxious than any gay scene could ever be. Basically all her character does is yell redneck phrases and curse. She could have been killed off last season.

Since Jessica and Hoyt broke up, I would agree with that statement. Kinda sad considering the importance of the other relationships on the show, but still true.

I also thought it was hilarious that little ass Tommy (aka "LJ!!!!") tried to pick a fight with Hoyt. I was thinking, unless he turns into a cougar or something, he's about to get his ass stomped.

Also, does Talbot remind anybody else of Chris Kattan's "Mango" character?

I loved this episode. I didn't think they'd top last week's, but they far outdid themselves this time around. All the gay sex didn't bother me, but then I'm not a homophobe. I really think Lafayette and Jesis make a cute couple, and I'm really rooting for them.

The fight scenes at the end were fucking badass, but best of all was Jessica tearing into that werewolf and making him beg for her not to kill him when it looked like she was on the ropes at first. The hard rock during that whole scene definitely helped.

Russel is an infinitely better and more interesting villain than Maryanne. You know his motives, he's cunning, calculating, and is a total Darwinist. All that and he's pretty damn charismatic as well.

I can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.

it's funny how a few gay scenes bring out the extreme homophobes.

I live with a gay man and even he says last episode was "A little gay". :booty:This whole season has been a little gay. I understand the need for nude males for the wolves and shifters, but when you factor in the 3 other gay relationships, it can be a little overwhelming.

I always thought Alan Ball was gay, but it is almost as if he is equating being gay to a lack of morals. Meaning the vampires (who have been described as losing their morality when they embrace the dark) are the ones involved in gay relationships/sex. The Queen w/sookies cousin, the king w/ kings partner w/, Erik, and Pam are prime examples.

These are not MY beliefs, I am just stating there seems to be an undertone this season.

Actually the thing that upsets me most is that all of these male characters are supposed to be attracted to Sookie!

I've dated more attractive women than Anna Paquin. She is a 6, maybe a 5. And you know what...I must be gay because I think Alcide is out of her league. Although I have a charming personality, I am not in as good of shape or as good looking as him and I have dated hotter chicks. :)

I know they have killed off the majority of the attractive women on the show, but come on; It has become "Everyone Loves Sookie"

Paquin's an easy 7, but when she smiles it downgrades her a bit. As for the killing off the attractive women, they really have, but I'm still pretty damn in love with Jessica.

Yes, I am very curious about the fallout from that!
I will not spoil it, but I heard from a friend what Sookie is (at least in the books). When he told me what she is (not just a waitress), I thought he was joking because it sounded so dumb. Hopefully it makes sense and works in the context of the story when they reveal it! I'm going to keep an open mind.

The books also have Goblins, and two sets of magical humans (Witches & Wiccans). The witches & wiccans are probably going to play a part in next season, since there is one on the show now. I'm glad Alan didn't include the goblins though.

I think they showed Jason in an earlier episode with the shotgun and wooden bullets - I know we've seen that gun before. She's the new blond waitress at Merlotte's, the one who Tara ran into in the rape crisis meeting.

See below about the wooden bullets.

He got em back in Season 2 from the Fellowship of the gun. Good thing he hung onto those.

This last episode was pretty slow, but that ending, DAMN! Loved it.Fellowship Of The Sun, not gun.

He pulled out a wooden box that had the Fellowship logo engraved on it, and inside the box were some wooden bullets (more than 2, if I remember right), his yellow sweats from his training and a Bible. That happened two episodes back, I think.

I do agree that the ending of the episode was pretty amazing. Nice to see the blond woman who was is the VLA spokesperson enjoying a little snack of real blood from a willing participant, which makes her quite a hypocrite from her "only True Blood" statement earlier.

I'm curious if the guards in the body armor and the guns are humans or vamps, though I'm guessing vamps wouldn't use guns, so they're likely to be humans.

Finally got a chance to watch last night's episode, and man, it was great! I don't know how anybody could consider it a slow episode considering right from the beginning you had all the stuff with the VLA and Eric, and Russell finding out about Talbot. I even made a comment to my wife that out of nowhere, this season all of a sudden had a clear direction and plot.

It seems like since the last 15 minutes of the previous episode a ton of stuff has happened, and lots of huge plot points have been set into motion. Just from these last two episodes alone, I'm easily enjoying this season more than last season and all the Mary-Ann crap that just dragged on forever. It seems like there's a very defined direction things are headed in, and it's been awesome so far!

They could be newborn vampires. Even a newborn will aim and shoot faster and more accurately than the best human. The only ways to kill a vampire in this series are stakes and decapitation. Kevlar is going to stop any wood. Heavy clothing protects them from silver. I'm not sure how to stop the decapitation angle. Were they wearing much armor around the shoulders and heads besides helmets and vests?

...

I'm genuinely disappointed in Russell. Before his on air segment, his enemy was a vampire 1/3 his age and a 100 year old hooker. Now, everybody is on his ass. Poorly played.

Dogs seem like a good go to animal since it has few natural predators and could blend in easily while still being able to defend itself/out run things. Anything exotic, like a leopard or bear would probably bring on suspicions or just get shot by some overzealous redneck. Turning into an insect might bring on a whole set of problems like being squished, eaten by a bat, shot with Raid, or flying right into a spider's web or bug zapper.

If the only thing the King is attached to Eric by is his wrist, couldn't he just rip it off and run back inside? Or, he could just kill Eric and Eric would turn to goop and he'd be free to go back inside as well.

I'm guessing that in the previews, when they say that Eric & the king are "gone" they probably flew away somewhere and no one knows if they survive, (survey says, "they're both alive").

Everybody keeps shitting on Erik's plan. You know what? It's a good plan.

Erik and Russell probably drank the same amount of fairy blood. Being younger than Russell, Erik is going to take longer to burn to death than Russell. Once Russell is toast, Pam will just break the silver handcuffs and drag her master back into the shade. If Pam was so convinced Erik was going to die, she would either be killing Bill and Sookie or freeing them.

This is absolutely correct.

Remember when Bill was trying to get to Sookie in I think Season 2? He was out in the sunlight for quite a while because he was a relatively young vampire. Russell should be smoked pretty quickly. I'm sure Godric was only in full sunlight for 10 seconds and he was toast. As for Russell getting away from Eric, I think no matter where silver is touching you, you're weakened all around significantly by it.

It didnt really get epic, best part was like the last 10-15 mins when Erik got out of his concrete grave, what the fuck is Godric doing back here?!?! He is re-dead and he comes back as a ghost actually telling Erik to spare dudes life. Also sookie tossing Talbot down the drain was pretty interesting. Seems like shes getting tired of being nice and was actually enjoying seeing Eddington in pain. Also wish they would have shown more of the DBZ-sque Bill & Queen fight. Fuck me, Lafayette dies in the books? Glad I've only watched the show then....he's my favorite character, too.

If it helps, he's not half as interesting in the books as he is in the show. In the books he's an extremely minor character and shares very few of the same traits (if any) as his counterpart.

Man, why the fuck didn't Erik just kill Russell while he was drinking Sookie's blood? The dude was nearly standing directly behind him and could have driven a stake right through his back! I thought for sure that Bill and Erik were going to make Sookie drink the water/silver concoction before Russell had his taste of her.

The whole Hoyt/Jessica/Hoyt's mama/crazy virgin chick scenario is not going to end well for someone.

Well the original plan was for Eric to die and take Russell with him, but then Godric intervened and talked him out of it, so then he went with the much more interesting punishment and buried him alive in cement. As Eric said himself, he decided against killing Russell on the off-chance that he may find some sort of peace in death; this way, his suffering won't end for quite some time. I prefer this since it leaves the door open for him to come back next season, a development I greatly wanna see come to fruition.

I mean, Russell's whole anchorman thing gave me the impression that they were going somewhere HUGE...but maybe they're saving that for next season. I don't know. Yikes. I just watched the season finale and I could barely pay attention it was so boring. How the hell did Eric get out at the end? This season wasn't that good. It might have been marginally better than Season 2 but only because Franklin was great. Russell wasn't bad either but I kind of got sick of him towards the end.

He called Pam, remember when he is back at Fangtasia after visiting Sookie, Pam is picking cement out of her hair/clothes as well. This season definitely had a some awesome moments but, the finale was rather underwhelming (had great moments though). Honestly, the last episode felt more like a finale. It had a huge cliffhanger, which is one of the main parts to True Blood.

I'll definitely continue watching since Russell, Eric, Sookie, Jessica, Lafayette, Hoyt, Sam, Jason, Bill, Alcide, etc are all interesting characters plus this is how I envision vampires not that Twilight bs.

I agree with this. If it weren't for the plots that were left hanging, I'd have said this would be a good way of ending the series. Having said that, I'm looking forward to Season 4.

Holy balls, that was an *awful* season finale.

It wasn't a great finale, but it wasn't terrible either. They left a hell of a lot of cliffhangers and unanswered questions, but that only means that next season's first episode will be really exciting.

What's pissing me off about this show is that the vampires can't booze like they do in "Vampire Diaries".

I agree. Drunken vampires are probably the best idea ever (thinking of some of Spike's drunken rants back in the Buffy days). I was wondering how people felt about "Vampire Diaries". My wife got me into it, and while it doesn't have the edge True Blood does (being network TV), I like the style of it. It's also amusing how basically every other vampire show is better than the Twilight series. Not to mention that Nina Dobrev is hot as hell. I think she wins against both Kristen Stewart and Anna Paquin.

Lame finale although Russell's squeeze going down the drain was great. I wanted Tara to cut long ways on the arm...

I was surprised that Eric wasn't more pissed about being left in the cement. Dude can stay calm and hold back in the most unbelievable situations. I expected him to beat the hell out of Bill.

I thought it was a lackluster finale as well.

Tara - Good riddance
Jason - Seriously? Chick isn't even a fraction of the hotness that Amy was, and you're gonna take care of a bunch of hillbillies for her?
Bill & Queen - The Matrix moves and Bill's "pounce" face were hilarious.
Tommy & Sam - Yea, off screen shot means nothing happened.
Jesus - Revealing that he's a witch, with what the next season is about, its not going to end well.
Eric - Loved his delivery of Bill's true meaning of returning to Bon Temps, and burying Russell. Thought the "ghost Godric" was lame though.
Sookie - Her vanishing to fairyland was kind of a stupid cliffhanger, its obvious that she's gonna come back from it.

Mysterious Doll - Foreshadowing for the next season? I think the cliffhanger should've been a tight shot on the doll for a few secs, it moves a bit, and then the screen goes to black.

According to the casting announcement, it looks like the next season will be about

Witches vs. Wiccans, Werewolves, Vampires & Sookie.

Truer words could not be spoken.:drool::drool: I want to pause the dvr everytime she shows her face on screen. But I believe that my wife would smack me. I watch with her and we both enjoy the show. These types of shows should all be relatively accurate and consistent with each other, though. Like if a new vampire tries to eat or drink normal food or beverages, they should just start vomiting uncontrollably and screaming in pain.

And I thought the same about the doll, Bezerker. Why else would they deliberately plant it there? I bet Hoyt's mama had something to do with it. Did you actually see the doll move, though? I must have missed that.

He had Sookie do it for him. The tongue-lashing she gave Bill seems to have satisfied Erik's need for vengeance.

Just a guess, but since Jesus is a witch, that woman who tried to help Arlene get rid of the baby I bet is wiccan.

Didn't she say that about herself already when talking to Arlene? I seem to remember that.

I'm pretty sure she did either before or during the night ritual.

yeah didnt like the finale either and im really getting tired of snookie and her damn whining. i cant trust you but i want you or do i want you or you ? its annoying and with so many of the other characters having more interesting storylines of their own itd be nice if they dailed back the love triangle and focused more on everyone else.

Do you know about a spin-off we don't, True Blood: Jersey Shore?

I think with things as they are at the end of the season, we should see less of the love triangle and more of the other characters.

Did she? I thought it was just kind of implied. I wonder if that means their will be some sort of fighting between the witches/wiccans.

You cannot honestly say that you wouldn't hit that (if the opportunity were to present itself, and you weren't married, of course).

She looks young (maybe 18)...but she's 21. Hard to feel gross about thinking a 21 year old woman is attractive. I guess she needs to do more hard drugs so she can look like she's in menopause like Lindsay Lohan (who is only 2.5 years older). And she's more than a year older than Kristen Stewart. But just because Kristen Stewart looks more manish, it's ok for people to say she's attractive? lol...that seems terribly unfair.

This whole season was a dud. That's why this show never beats anything at the Emmys. It has a huge following but only the first season had any real power. The rest just feels like a broadcast network drama where they drag shit on.

The Game of Thrones stuff that was on BEFORE True Blood's finale had be 100x more excited. Emilia Clarke looks soooo much better as Dany Targaryen than Tamzin Merchant would have. That girl who is playing Arya is cute as hell, fucking perfect for that role of a little wiseass tomboy. Loras Tyrell's armor looks straight out of Demon Souls.
