Well they couldn't tell me if they had a midnight launch(I did ask). I didn't see any shirts and they only had a couple hats on the counter up front. They did have what looked like over a hundred hammerburst codes sitting there and if you ask I'm sure they'll give you extras.

The majority of people that wanted the tank pre-ordered the game more than a month ago. So we deserve the tanks more than anybody just walking in to the store with out a reserve. I hope all Best Buy are doing this as well.

I'm going to CC on my break to see if they have point cards and the LE. If they do, then I'm returning this stuff to BB. If CC doesn't have point cards, I'll exchange the tank and sell it on EBay.

I advice others to do this also, since the market seems to be $40-$60 for them right now.

Apparently, over 250 stores did not get a tank shipment yet, so they were taking names of people who preordered. I'd imagine there're a few CAG collectors who won't even open the packaging on those. Most will sit on an Entertainment unit nicely packaged. So, only those who actually wanted to play with these things will be disappointed.

Got the tank w/o problems, but i have to say, it sucks ball for $30! Don't even worth $5 IMO. There's no paint job, details are there, but looks very cheap (a little better than those 99 cent army men tank back in the not so old days). The remote control looks very cheap too. I stopped by a local Best Buy this morning and was told that they had received the tanks but only preorders would receive them.

There was a table loaded with both the regular and limited editions.

I had attempted to preorder this game for months but the employees could not locate the preorder boxes.


On my way home from work I stopped by another Best Buy and found a pile of twenty tanks stacked in the video game area away from the Gears of War games.

All of the racks were sold out of the Limited Edition of the game but I found six Limited Editions still in the cage where they hold the new games.

Nobody in line realized that the tank was free when purchasing the Limited Edition and therefore nobody was picking up the tank!!!!

The store had just about sold out of the Limited Edition but still had a bunch of tanks left.

I brought both up to the register and the tank rang up for free.

The store still had 5 limited Editions of the game and 19 tanks.

I think i posted first about the very lackluster performance of the tank. despite the hassle that would ensue, i really hoped i just got a defective/lack duck one. seems that isn't the case from other posters.

i'm really annoyed that the tank just blows as a remote controlled vehicle (it does look cool... ironic since all the concern leading up to it was about looks and we all took performance ask a given (minus concerns if it was wireless or not).

i really want to complain but; it won't change anything. it was "free" however, without the tank offer i would of just got the regular edition, and/or the 1600 points CC was giving.

I got the figure eventually, but all of my pre-ordered bonus items were back ordered immediatly and they just canceled the discs this week. Luckily I was able to just buy them at the store by slipping them in with other purchases. Anyway, I just wanted to point out that they have a habit of back ordering pre-order bonuses. The tank sucks. The battery compartment placements fails to the point that if you try to make it turn the wheels hit the compartment and stop the whole tank from moving. What shitty lack of oversight from someone. Unless you like going back and forth, it's a waste. It could have been so much cooler if it wasn't flawed :/

OMG - a girl got a router delivered to work today and the box was so mashed up that when I saw her hours later she says it completely crushed and was shipping it back.

The LE shipped in a simple plastic bubble envelope, and the outside cardboard box had most of its corners mashed in. I might be nitpicking a bit, but it's definitely not what you'd want of a brand new game.

l finally got the game today, sure enough a huge dent across the front, hell l package $5 used stuff better to ship. l called to complain, plus while talking to my local store, lasked if they had the tanks

so l of course went on to ask, since mine is on backorder till who knows can l just get one at there?

Absolutely agreed. I can attest to the horrible condition of items that arrive from BB.com, I received only one item from them in good condition and that was the Ghost in the Shell steelbook. Every single CD I ordered from them arrived with huge cracks in the case, a DVD box set I ordered had dings and dents all over, and my GoW2 LE was in similar condition too.

I always nitpick about the condition of all my DVDs, CDs, games etc when I buy them. I'm glad that I was able to pick up a LE copy in-store as close to mint as possible (only see one small dent on the side edge) and for $25 less than retail to boot. I returned my BB.com copy today at my BB, then I realized I should have waited until I received my tank in case they decide to cancel my shipment. #-oI had been planning to return the online copy for a full refund so I can keep the tank for free and get better deals on the game. Luckily, I got an e-mail saying that the tank has shipped although when I click on the tracking number, I get a message saying the tracking info for the shipment is unavailable. :bomb:

Also, I think I saw 5 tanks on the back table at my BB when I was returning my LE.

Apparently they received more stock than preordered. i hear they will give the tank to ppl buy limited edition w/out preorder..
Since i got my copy at Amazon already, so im not hurry to get my game copy from BB.. I was gona pick up the tank and game today....but the customer service lady just gave me the tank for free w/out buying the tank.. i guess she thot i already pick up my game~~

I got the game yesterday and I'm in Act 2 now. Pretty darn good. It's Gears of War but with brighter colors and more weapons and enemies! But now that the AI can rescue you it doesn't seem so hard. Kinda wish that I had started on hard but oh well.

Went in to pick up the regular edition, saw the LE on the table and the tanks next to them. So I grabbed both and had the cashier ring me up. She asked if they were free with the purchase, I said sure. So, the preorder screen pops up a few times, but she overrides them and comments about how cool it is that the tank's free. Then I'm off on my merry way. I'm not ever gonna use the tank, it was just nice to get something for free.

Not really griping, 'cause it's free, but I thought that was silly.

The tank sucks. The battery compartment placements fails to the point that if you try to make it turn the wheels hit the compartment and stop the whole tank from moving. What shitty lack of oversight from someone. Unless you like going back and forth, it's a waste. It could have been so much cooler if it wasn't flawed :/

Ditto I just put batteries in and was like why does it turn and stop instantly? You're dead on seriously wtf? This has to be an oversight or something.

The day I picked it up in store the first guy that got his had it the same way, they pulled it out of the big box and it was open, the manufacturer should have put a little piece pf tape on the ends

Yep, terrible packaging, the text on the box looked like it was meant for a huge stack of DVD's or CD's. No packing, so the tank box was just sliding inside the cardboard outer casing (which was the right size for 2 of the 3 dimensions) so the outer packaging of the tank was all scuffed up.

Oh well, not MIB, probably VGIB. ;)
