Fun times last night. Sorry I had to hop out. Burnout used to never make me sick, but both times I've played it since doing the update patch have set-off my simulation sickness. I wonder if there is any way that Sony would let me take the patch off if this continues?

Go pick up some ginger pills. Some FPS games and burnout use to make me sick too. A friend who was on a cruise suggested ginger pills for motion sickness. I take one about 30 minutes to an hour before gaming and I can play all night without any issues.

Anyone interested in taking the new cars out for a spin tonight? 8 flying cars with 10 ft flame trails has got to be a cool sight to see.

Yea, I'm not all about the trophies for this game, it's just hella fun, but sometimes looking at that list and seeing this as the one thing I haven't done, it just kinda bugs me as a gamer ;)

Okay, after much thought, I'm going to be using the DeLorean this Sunday. Why? It's quite possibly the fastest car in the game while in Hover Mode and boosting. Seriously, you can get a Triple Barrel Roll on that bridge south of Paradise Blvd. Also, when the Ecto-1 and Bootlegger both crash while your sounding their horns, well...let's just say it's funny.

I'm hosting starting @ 6pm on Sunday.

No, I'm pretty sure you can play with those who have the car models. I'd say the new cars were in the most recent patch, buying them only unlocks them. It's like the Retail Unlockable cars, the data is there, you just can't use it unless you had the unlock code.

The new cars are a blast to drive.

The P12 Special is a beast at barrel rolls. I did a triple role off the jump by the quarry without too much trouble. The problem is when boosting, it's practically impossible to control because it's going so fast. Don't use this car in marked man races though, I hit the ghostbuster car at full speed and still wasn't able to take it out :P

The Nighthawk was disappointing at first but it's great car to use on marked man runs. It drives like a tank and has the fastest acceleration of any car, I just wish it as the flashing lights on all the time instead of just during boosting.

I'd definitely say that the Delorean and the Ecto-1 are the 2 best cars in the set.

Delorean is definitely the best, even if it didn't have the hover mode, it's fast and quite maneuverable. Calvary BootLEEger is alright...it's kinda slow but handles well. Echo-1 I need to play around with a bit more. but it seemed to handle pretty well for a big tub. Nighthawk I was surprised at how often I seemed to be wiping out from rear collisions so I'm not sure I believe it's strength rating. The base version of the car is my favorite stunt car so I imagine I'll warm up to it eventually.

Sorry about sucking badly at that last barrel role challenges. Sometimes I can land them flawlessly like in the quarry, I did a double roll on the first try and other times I suck ass.

We learned that the DeLorean is amazing at barrel rolls. In the airfield, I could land a small barrel roll on one ramp, and then immediately do another one from the second ramp. Getting through the grey hoop was still kind of hard, but I think it's probably your best bet for anyone having trouble with barrel rolls. Certainly better than the General Lee.

They aren't just reskinned. The dynamic of the game changes a little bit when toy cars are involved. They control totally different than their large counterparts, and they are smaller, so they can weave in and out of traffic better. They spin out a lot easier, and they crash different ( think running a hotwheel into a wall- not a lot of damage and a lots of "driveaways")

Most of the players use headsets while playing. Sometimes there are players that don't have headsets, but those are the players you can trust to get the job done when it comes to Challenges, especially the timed ones. So if you're unsure about something, it's best to have a headset so you can be guided about what you need to do.

Just so you all know, I don't have a headset myself. Hope that won't be an issue. As for online trophies I'm all for getting them, as there's still a few I need (Wildcat, Red and Blue Teams for Road Rage, and the Timed Challenge ones.)

No Headset isn't a problem (Bluetooth Headsets are really cheap, you know), but I personally prefer them. Also keep in mind that sending messages slows everything down.

Make sure you get the ten timed before you do any bike challenges otherwise the trophy will never unlock. I had to back up my save file and then start a new game, get 10 timed challenges, and re-upload my save after I got the trophy. Quite the hassle.

You can always put your save on a USB drive for backup.

If that ever happens again you can press select, open the players menu, watch the mic patterns to find which one is causing you problems, then click that player and you can mute them.

I think I have that glitch, I've gotten at least a 3x Burnout with Kitt several times and still don't have that trophy. Anybody know a way to fix it?
Also, I don't have 10 online timed challenges yet, I might skip out on next weeks bike run if I don't have them by then. If you are referring to downloading someone else's save, that won't work because Criterion designed the save file to only work with your psn user id. I just put my save on a usb stick, deleted it off my ps3, and then got the trophy with a new game file, deleted that one, and re-uploaded the original save off my usb stick and it was totally fine. But if you haven't gotten any bike challenges than it should totally work without having to do any of that.

I think he was referring to the fact that on the PS3 if you have more than one user account, you can back up the save to a different account and then transfer it back...no need for a USB drive. However, I don't think that will work. I tried doing that in LBP and it will still think youre trying to use someone else's save and thus disqualify you from future trophies.

On another note, thanks to Broly for setting that up. I think the static may ahve been me, I am using the PSEye and I don't think I have the settings correct. I am going to try to meet up with ArJay2k8 during the week to knock out the timed challenges so I can be there for the bikes next week. If anyone else would like to partake just send a PSN message to either of us.

I originally heard about the save/swap concept in relation to the KITT glitch. So I would imagine it works. It can't hurt though. If I get a chance, I'll try it tonight (although I'm kind of scared to do it...)

I got all the paradise awards and the platinum paint for the cars and all the races for the bikes but my stat shows 100%. Are there specific paradise awards for just the bikes to get to 101%?

Yes, you can use them for any of the regular license challenges.

Woo got my Elite finally today. I'm a little perplexed though. After that the only "award" I needed to get was for the 20x boost, which I then proceeded to get. I got my Platinum finish and 60/60 awards. I already had all roads ruled time and showtime, how come I still only have 100%? Shouldn't I have 101? Then once I get all the online events I get 102, right? Or so I thought. Anybody help me out here on what I could be missing?

Hey is there a night dedicated to Burnout Paradise that most of you play on? It can get really frustrating trying to find games where everyone is on the same page trying to crank out the challenges. I mean it took 25 minutes yesterday for me and 6 other guys in the room to corral one guy to do the jump at the beach where one guy has to jump the other 7 guys. Something that should've taken 5 minutes at the most and thats assuming one person was as far away as possible from the beach and crashed every other block. Now while this is an extreme case I do get more of these rooms than ones like I got the other day in which we cranked out 15 challenges in less than an hour. I know that not having everyone on voice chat can make it hard to get everyone on the same page but if any game is possible it Burnout Paradise. Anyways this has gone on longer than intended and my question is.....Is there a night when there are enough of you online to play burnout paradise to do the online challenges? Thanks and have a good one....

If you want to do challenges with random people the best way is to check out if it says Freeburn Online, Freeburn Challenges, Timed Challenges or something else. That way you're more likely to run into an room that is doing those.

I HIGHLY doubt that's how it's going to work. That's the thing I hate about Criterion this year. They have been VERY secretive about how their DLC works and the pricing. This is actually the first pack they actually priced before it hit the stores.

I was such a fanboy for Burnout last year, but the way they've handled DLC has left me at a loss. I caved for the party pack, but when the price dropped on the game, it devalued the DLC so much, I can't justify buying all the cars and addons anymore since they're far more than the complete game itself to get everything (AC6 anyone?). Also, everything was announced six months ago and any excitement I've had for what's remaining has completely dissolved in the time since.

Despite the fact that Burnouts support was unprecedented in 08 with so much free content to keep the game fresh and selling, it's something we will be lucky to ever see again from any developer. I played the hell out of Burnout, but it's been replaced by Motorstorm:PR.. and I'm still waiting on DLC from those guys as well.

Okay, here's the skinny on the patch.

There were some fixes (the GT Nighthawk Trophy was patched...not 10 online time challenges for some odd reason, and something about losing cars for no reason).

You get a new section: Cop Cars, 35 slots, 2 of which are given to you. Beyond that right now, I don't know if you can play in CnR if you don't have the DLC code. It'd be nice. There's only 1 car specific trophy for the pack, and it's a bronze.

Did some digging and found the experiences with the game mode from folks in earlier regions (http://www.operationburnout.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3789&view=findpost&p=61791).

If you are in a game and you do not own the Cops 'n Robbers pack when the host starts the freeburn a pop-up will ask if you want to purchase it. If yes, you disconnect and go to the burnout store, if no, you stay in the game as a bystander (like when you join a room in the middle of a challenge).

As an bystander you can un-officially contribute by wrecking one team or the other. So it seems that conceivably those without the Pack could pick a side and fight for them (use a standard car for robbers or one of the few free police cars for the cops), they just wouldn't know where the gold spawned/capture points are or be able to carry the gold.

edit: A tidbit from that thread is also neither team has access to boost during the game mode, but I would assume bystanders would still be able to boost.

Just got into a game of Cops and robbers before I downloaded the pack, I can confirm firsthand that is how it is handled. When a new game of Cops and Robbers is launched it asks if you want to buy the pack, and if you say no, you stay in the game and the message "Cops N' Robbers game in progress..." scrolls across the bottom of the screen. I chose to unofficially support the robbers side and began running into every cop car I saw :lol:.

I'll be there. Sounds like a decent set of rules to me, although traffic (imo) makes CnR better. When you're the guy with the gold, traffic is a non factor really because your weighed down...but it helps you because everyone else (including the guys trying to take you down) are more likely to crash with traffic.

Remember that if you keep the CAG Burnout chat on your XMB (and not go in and delete it) it should stay there, for how long I don't know. Even if you turn off your PS3.

Chat logs stay indefinitely. You'll get logged out of the room for various reasons (turning off your PS3, for sure, but I've been logged out when changing a game), but the log will stay. Though, it's limited as to how much it saves (like 100-200 "posts").

2 things about Big Surf Island:

1) Joystiq said they can't post their review until 05/28 (A Thursday). Think that implies anything? The trophies already show up online- maybe it really is only 2 weeks away.

2) I thought i remembered hearing onetime that the price point of a game determined the type/number of trophies it could have. If that's true, can we determine the cost of the add-on based on the trophy list?

Plus, with my Celtics playing and the WWE PPV on tonight, I won't be anywhere near my PS3.K, thanks for the feedback. I've decided to pass on this round of DLC and save my $10 for the new Island DLC. And also, on Sunday I placed my order for Burnout Paradise & Warhawk from Newegg 3-7 day shipping.

I'm getting closer and closer to that 490. Last I checked I think I was at 422 or so. The closer I am to 490 come Sunday, the better chances of me hosting Cops N Robbers will be. I mainly need 4 and 7 player freeburn challenges, with a few 5 and 6 needed as well. I think I only need 3 times challenges, 2 7 player and 1 6 player.
