Great price. But the Singstore is lacking in quality north american centric music.
There have been quite a few of us bitching about this in the official sony forums but nobody's taken the time to respond to us. That's a pretty poor response even for Sony.

The NA team seems to be putting way more of their efforts securing licensing for the disc based games instead of the DLC which is very disappointing.

I do not believe so. Sony's Singstar mics are very special (one usb connection to two mics, red/blue) and they are way better than the logitech mics.

If you are lucky I think you can just pick up the mics for like 5 dollars at eb if they have them.

I will go ahead and confirm this, its 100% not compatable with the Logitech style mics.

Though I have heard that RB2 will be compatable with the singstar mics if that means anything.

Finally a great price for the game! Considering the package is $59.99 retail, I was able to pick up 2 used mics for $12, and with this, it's essentially getting the package for $32. Pretty nice deal.

I'm with you on that. I hope they bring Disney DLC to NA and the PS3. Why they would release it on PS2 in Europe/PAL only is beyond me. My daughters would be ecstatic!

It is true (or most likely Sony announced it). Rock Band one is actually "now" compatible with the singstar mics, I think it picks up better than the logitech mics. Only the blue will work and you may need to adjust mic sensativity but I tested it out this friday.

I know I'm going to have to get sing star abba for my wife this xmas...so I was looking at getting some mics and stuff if there isnt an abba bundle.

The original PS3 SingStar will get an online patch sometime this Fall to allow swapping PS2 discs. Songs cannot be ripped from the PS2 game onto the PS3 HDD.

I believe they are exactly the same in quality and build. I used my PS3 mics to play on my PS2 and they worked perfectly.

Word of advice: If you want more song selection, don't hesitate to buy the PS2 SingStars because it takes forever and a day for the SingStore to release good songs. That's why I bought '90s and hope to buy '80s and Rocks! used.
