Well I will be the first to admit that if I didnt have anger once in awhile I would have saved a lot of money on repairs/replacements. My latest victim of my Windows outrage (PC Windows, not actual windows) was my Enter button on my laptop keyboard. The button loosened off, and I am trying to get it back on there. I am no expert at this type of stuff. On an old school keyboard for desktops the buttons just popped back in there, this seems to be different.

Below are pics of the button, and the spot where it goes. I apologize for the quality - it is daytime here but my dorm room doesnt really get great lighting and all I have to light the room is a lamp. On the third pic I box two hinges that I presume the the metal hooks (shown on bottom of the Enter key) go. I tried putting the metal attachment under those two hinges but it doesnt lock in place or anything like that.

Anyone have any recommendations? I was planning to buy a Mac this summer but don't want to destroy this Windows POS just yet (I love the laptop, hate the OS).

Enter button with the metal attachment:

Where I assume the metal attachment hooks onto:

I'm no expert but I'll give you my experience. The spacebar on my old laptop popped off. There was a very small, soft plastic, cone shaped loose piece that sat on the center space of the laptop where the spacebar went that was like the cushion for the button. I placed that back on its spot and very carefully hooked in the metal arms and pushed the space bar key back down gently but very firmly. Took quite a few tries. At one point I remember using a pair of tweezers to get that little plastic cone thing in the proper spot after hooking the button on but before pressing it down.

If you can't get it remember that you can use a USB keyboard with your laptop. Not very travel friendly but it beats having to pay for a whole new laptop just because a button is broken!

So far my tally for breaking things in anger is a pretty nice headset and a mouse :( I feel your pain.
