PC boot issue

Every time i restart my computer, this problem happens. I run windows xp SP2. well whenever i restart it, it always says "loading your personal settings"
and freezes for 10 minutes until the screensaver shows up. after that, it starts working fine. Anyone know what i should do? i tried to use system restore to bring it 2 months earlier, but it had an error.

First, boot into safe mode with networking (F8) and see if it boots up faster (it should). From there, open system restore and see if you installed anything recently that might be the culprit.

thanks ill try this.

EDIT: OK i boot just fine in safe mode, but i dont think i can roll my computer back to any date. ive tried at least 5 different ones, and none of them worked.
