Anyone has personal experiences with this method?

I thought that was NOT an option to use the PS3's browser.
However, if you do a search on PlayOn, you can try out the software as a Beta then eventually it will be $30 (I believe).
PlayOn will stream Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, CBS and ESPN (and more I believe)
Netflix also opened up the source code I believe to allow any company that wants to stream it. So, it's only a matter of time before it is everywhere. I wonder if MS paid Netflix for this service....ha.

That's what I was wondering myself. I suppose that Netflix would cannibalize some of Sony's own sales, but it's better than giving MS exclusive use to such a large user base.

Well, the PlayOn software is a 3rd party provider...so Sony doesn't really have a say in it.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.
I did some searching and read more about PlayOn -- I'm interested. Do you know if it's $30/month or all year?
And are there any advantages to using PlayOn over using a multi-media PC hooked up to the TV, besides not needing to build/buy a new PC?

^ the $30 for PlayOn is a one-time charge to purchase the program. Also, Netflix streaming isn't yet available, but they're working on getting it ready.
