View Full Version : My 360 died and apparently I don't get a box. Does the UPS store provide any?

I don't really have any boxes to put it in nor do I have any packing materials. Could I go to the UPS store and have them do it? How much would that cost?

Also, that return label that I got in the email means that Microsoft foots the bill on the shipment right?

Isn't it always the case-- every garbage bag and landfill is overflowing with styrofoam, but is there ever any around when you need it? Nope.

UPS will usually provide you with free packing materials if you call and ask. They might not be to the exact dimensions of the XBox, but you can always pad it out with broken down foam from other boxes, crumpled packing paper, shredded documents, etc.

Or go to dell.ca and order the cheapest thing they have. They'll ship it to you for free, and will overpack it for your convenience:

Haha, yeah I had a similar experience with Dell.

I got my question answered as the Xbox Forums though, thanks!

Weird. Mine arrived in my email within an hour or two.

Ouch, I remember reading about you saying your pre-Falcon 360 hadn't died yet. At least you finished Tales of Vesperia already. ;)

I just sent it out. It only cost $5 for the box and packing stuff. They took care of everything. Worth it to have them do it right imo.

What I did with my latest system (sent out last week) was just told them that I didn't have a box for it and would like them to send out one. Voila, I had a Microsoft coffin and pre-printed packing slip on my door in two days at no cost to me. :)

Guess that means I know their system a little too well though, that's my third dead 360. :p

I'll do that next time. Or maybe just buy an Arcade unit. I mean, they're going to just send me back a 2006 unit which will RRoD on me again -_-

Microsoft sent ilikecod4 back a black elite instead of a white pro.
