help with ps3

Hola foks,

I just recently purchased a ps3 of ebay (30% cashback) its a 60 gig model.

Now maybe I don't understand these fangled electronics.

I plugged in the component cables and the power cable. Flipped the kill switch or whatever in the back. And turned it on. Green light comes on. But nothing shows up on screen and no sound.

I can't figure it out.

Do i need to configure it first or something using normal av cables?

I'm getting a little ansy in the pantsy right now.

Turn it off and than back on leaving the red light on.
Then hold the front power button for around 10 seconds till you hear a beep.

no flip the power switch off and while the switch is off hold the power button, then flip the switch while holding the power button and wait for at least two beeps
