Just curious here. It seems almost everyone I know uses AIM, almost exclusively these days. I used to use msn a lot until I got up to college.

Been using Trillian for years, and I have no reason to stop.

I usually use AIM the most, then MSN, and Yahoo! only once in a great while.

AIM, mostly because that is what is everyone I know uses. I'm never on it though (stopped staying signed in after someone AIMed me and crashed my Halo PC window during a clan match  ).

AIM, well actually I used DeadAIM or whatever it was for a bit, but for some reason it would never let me accept files properly, so I just got the new update.

AIM, for what leadhed says, its what everyone uses, and I have been using it with the same screen name since like 5th grade, which would be 7 years.

AIM, for what leadhed says

Before I read the rest of that, I thought, 'Wow, he got totally screwed during a clan match too.'

AIM. I used ICQ way back, but most of my friends abandoned it, so I moved over to AIM.

I use AIM because all the other cool kids use it.

I only use aim to IM, I check my Xbox Live buddies with MSN but never talk there.

Um... Gaim.

I used to use ICQ way back when too, sad thing is I don't even remember my old ICQ or AIM names. Kind of strange considering how many things I don't forget. I guess I must've never thought they'd be important, plus I didn't use them very long.

AIM and MSN. Sometimes I use Gaim for both of them.

I preferred EasyMessage when it would work correctly.

Gaim for me. The Unix version of official aim is very bare-bones.

I used to use ICQ until they released their 99 version and just messed it all up. So I mainly use AIM now.

I use AIM.. Seems like everyone's using it. I can hardly get on without an IM popping up to say hello.

AIM
because it saves all my conversations for me :)

Yahoo; it saves conversations, and you can recieve messages when offline. Plus, it's not AOL.
I tried Trillian, and maybe I just didn't spend enough time with it, but it seems to have a high learning curve. Does offer a lot, but not real user friendly.

It's not really any harder to use than the other ones, it's just the fact that you have to setup your logon info for several mediums at the same time.

Only problem I've ever had with it is that I can't accept file transfers through AIM. MSN works fine though, so I just get them through there.

ICQ is god as long as you're using a pre-AOL client.

I use AIM because everyone else does, though.

I use AIM and MSN mostly. I got a stalker chick and friend's ex girlfriend that vuses the hell out of Yahoo messenger, so i gotta be invisible or just not use it.

I use AIM, and if you simply put the away message up when you play Halo or another game, that can't happen.

There's something other than AIM? J/K .. I used ICQ until college, but switched freshmen year, been using it since (6 years)

I had to delete my messenger programs because they were taking too much resources in my computer. I mainly use my computer for graphics work so I need ever ounce of power my computer can muster.

All my friends an i use MSN, but everyone else i talk to on the net uses AIM.
I prefer MSN, it just looks nicer, much cleaner and pleasing to the eyes.

AIM for the most part. It's where I talk to basically everyone online.

I only talk to a few people on yahoo, though admittedly it does have cooler features.

Trillian for me

Gothic Walrus

I use AIM, with a freebie copy of DeadAim from OldVersion (http://www.oldversion.com/).

Virtually all of my friends use AIM, so there's no reason for me to use anything else. I tried using Trillian for a while, but it just didn't work well on my computer. Every time I logged in, it would set me as away with a message that I had deleted months ago, it wouldn't allow me to set up an AIM profile...stuff like that. AIM is crap, but once you get rid of the spyware and throw in DeadAIM, it works well enough.

i personally use e-mail and telephone for everything. never saw a reason why they wouldn't work, but then again i'm a guy, so all my conversations can be over in 30 seconds.

come over now. yes? ok, see you in 15 mins.

that's all i need to say =)
maybe the occasional "bring that game with you too"
