Well Circuit city in SanPatricio Plaza PR. Has the entire CD/DVD/Videogame section fenced in and they are not selling them anymore (Even though i could see boxes full of videgames/GHkits ect). Completely disapointing. We only had a week at 20 percent off too. So i wasnt able to get anything... The rest of the store will continue the liquidation for whatever reason.. This liquidation sale has been awfull here. Hell the compusa sales were better.
Yep,went today to see if there was anything worthy....And to my surprise the cd,dvd and games section was closed down. That stuff was going back to
the states said the employee...The rest of the store had nothing worth to look at,neither buying.Bad liquidation here,Compusa was better, agreed!

Not only that things are still expensive. For instance. Game accesorires are 40 percent off alledgedly and yet a 100 dollar Rock Band Stage kit is 69.99

Ill probably check in a couple of days and see if the price has droped on the stage kit but other than that the sale has been an utter disapointment.

i might pick one up if it was $1 why get them when u can get them online for free if u google it? its not worth it. use the money on MS points or something like that or toward a game where u can have double the fun with that game and a new game!

For the last time, Rock Band and Guitar Hero accessories get lumped under the Rock Band and Guitar Hero discount percentage and not the Video Game Accessories percentage.

Thanks.

Was in Whitestone yesterday. Nothing to report. Games are still 20% off. And all the Wii Points are now gone. No MS points in site, and all the decent accessories (DS3, etc.) are gone.
Unless they bring the games further down, there's really no point in visiting that store.

I can confirm that the CC in Torrance, CA (on Crenshaw/PCH) has the $13.99 1600 point cards. The employees on the floor denied it. I went to the front desk, though, and asked there, and they had plenty. I got 2, and they activated perfectly. These are the cards that come in the clamshell, not the ones that are activated in-store.

So, just go to the front, and don't bother with the floor staff.

What % are 360 games on sale for? Want to pick up a copy of Burnout Paradise 360...since Amazon hasn't had it in stock for a freaking week :bomb:

And if I do buy Burnout, will it be MSRP priced or the universal drop of $20?

Went to the Norwalk,CT Circuit City Store on Saturday

All the games were 20% off but nothing was like extremely great.

I picked up Just cause for $8.99 + tax

Was going to get Mercaneies 2 for $23.99 but i passed.

ALOT of games were still $59.99 then 20% off such as cod 5, gears 2, etc.

They have ipod nano's for $130 thats a decent price.

There seemed to be alot of stock left the xplorer guitars were around $15-20 loads of those, some rock band drums, rock band 1 full kit was 129.99 + 20% off.

Lexington, KY has zero 360 accessories, but tons of PS3 accessories and a few Wii. I didn't see any PS3 or Wii consoles.

I picked up Burnout Paradise 360 for $15.99 and Burnout Revenge (which still goes for $30 most places) for $13.57.

They had about 4 times the amount of games as they did last week, and signs everywhere that said "new stock arrives daily". They also had about 12 pallets of Guitar Hero stacked about 8 feet high. My guess was 400 sets. They even had a back corner of the store roped off with caution tape where all these pallets were. They also had guitar hero piled in other areas of the store also.

Thanks. I took a chance that they might not have them and headed down. To my surprise they had almost a hundred of the. The only 360 Accessories they had. They got restocked. I heard the Manager at Tacoma talking about the California wearhouse is being emptied, and they are getting their last truck soon (Tomorrow or Thursday). That will be the last of the replenishment from that warehouse to the west coast store it serves.

Also of note what that the store also had Wii Fit's in stock and for sale @ 20% off (Social Gaming). So if your looking for that they have some in the back, didn't ask how many. They have 360's, Wii's, PS3's and PSP's in stock at 20% each.

As I was checking out I was talking to the Cashier and asked if they had anything hidden in the back. She said only what I see here. I said too bad they didn't have a playstation Joystick, she reached in a box and pulled out a DS3, and said "This?". So they have a few DS3's. The manager asked me if I wanted 10 of them, so I suspect they have a few of them for sale.

The cashiers shouldn't be making stuff up when it comes to wrong prices. Like I said, the cashier mentioned to me that the sticker on the cd was the wrong price because that was supposed to be price during the week the cd was released (which is total BS, CC just jacked up the price!).

Edit: By the way, if you go to the Circuit City in Lewisville, TX, go to the bathroom and you will see a huge banner that has the Firedog logo but instead the employees put tape on the last 2 letters, so the banner says "FIRED" and the dog on the logo has an X over his eyes. When mine went down in December we took the Now Hiring and put and F over the H. Now that was funny. Yeah the cashier should have changed the percentage to whatever the sticker price was.

Very Strange.

I went into local CC at Quail in Okla City Monday morning at opening. All of the Blu-rays that were there Saturday (hundreds) were gone. I thought maybe somebody had come in and bought them all. Asked worker and he said they boxed up ALL blu-rays to send back to distribution center. They were in the midst of packing up all video games over 19.99 for the same reason. I pulled one still on the shelf with tag of 49.99 and asked if i could buy it (wasn't going to, just curious) and he said no, nothing over 19.99 could be sold. So i don't know what is going on, but basically all of the blu-rays and video games of consequence have been removed....

calm down dude. Its called humor.

The funny thing is I had that happen once at work to an associate. The customer was irate that World Of Warcraft was a pay every month game and was yelling. So I go up and tell him if he read the box and he said yeah it says that nowhere. So I take the box and show him where it says on the back that a monthly fee is required. So he takes the box and chucks it at the wall right next to me. So after that hearing things like that I don't find that funny. Hopefully you are smart enough to keep your cool.

Ive worked in retail long enough to know about irrate customers. In this cd situation though I would have just manually taken the discount off the marked price. Your already losing your job after all.

wtf kinda liquidation was this. I took a 40 minute drive to the nearest circuit city today. Games were marked off 25% BUT THE ORIGINAL PRICES WERE RAISED 25% so they were selling for the exact same retail price anyway...

some liquidation... :(

Really? Examples?

Because that's certainly not the experience I had at the Circuit Cities near me. They kept the last regular prices CC had in the system. The clearance games were still at the clearance prices (before discount) and stuff like Okami Wii (still $19.99 before discount) and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (still $19.99 before discount) were at their last prices in the CC system as well.

Nothing new at the CC's around SJ CA ... hopefully a percentage drop to 30 will come in the next week or two ... at least it's not as bad as Target though where they're hiding everything ;-)

Isn't that just an accessory? I'm looking for video game examples where they supposedly raised the price from CC's last price in their computer system.

I'm just saying I haven't encountered them "raising the prices" of video games and neither did my friend in a different part of the country. It's a shame that people are missing out on some of these better game deals (like the ones I listed) because they think everything has been jacked up over MSRP.

This was discussed before. Circuit City is not trying to rip you off. You are going to run into many and I mean many items that were never tagged properly or have the wrong price because it was not put into the system properly. Circuit City has no reason to keep the prices high. Just talk to a manger or the liquidator of the store and see what can be done.

Not sure if I am beating a dead horse here but I got a 4000 MS Points card for about 37 bucks. I am in Los Angeles and I know that the discounts vary but that looks to be a sweet deal to me anyway.

<--- XBLA whore

Be sure it is one of the cards in the plastic clamshell type packaging. Circuit city was also selling a card that has to be activated at the register, and they are not working. I would think by now that circuit city would have removed all of the type that don't work, but buyer beware I guess.

The type shown in the pictures I took on page 137 do work fine, I've made a run for fellow cags and the codes for all 23 entered so far have worked fine.

They are selling only 1600 point cards at mine, normally $20 for $13.99 (No sales tax in Oregon.)

Oh, and Please Don't PM me, I am not making more runs. Thanks.

The Rockville MD CC is still full of suck. It's right by a Microcenter and a Best Buy who both have better prices then CC's liquidation prices. Case in point I picked up a samsung monitor a few weeks back for about 220 at Microcenter, CC had it on sale after I got it for a little over 500...

At the Circuilt city in Dallas (N Tollway & Beltline), they moved Bioshock (360) up to $39.99. You can see the $29.99 sticker UNDER the $39.99 sticker. I asked the worker there and he said they moved everything up to the allowable MSRP and the Bioshock that was not the "Platinum Hits" had a higher MSRP than the Platinum Hits one even though it was the same game.

I stopped by my closest CC on Ridge Road in Cincinnati yesterday around 1:00pm since I was taking a half day, and they were fully stocked with Xbox 360 accessories. No points cards, just Live membership cards. Had about the same amount of games they had last week. I picked up an Xbox 360 battery/quick charger pack.
I'm guessing this is one of the high volume stores they keep open for a little while-- they always did good business when CC was in normal operations, and I'd wager that this particular location was actually profitable.

Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked already but this is a LONG thread to look through so I figured I'd just post:

Let's say I buy a TV from CC now and there is a problem right out of the box. I can't go back and exchange at it CC, but any new TV I get would have some sort of manufacturers warranty, right?

Also I'm wondering if those warranties typically require you to SHIP the TV somewhere or if they like send a guy to your house or something. I've never bought my own TV before (always got hand-me-downs) so I'm a total noob here. I'm wondering if it's just a bad idea to try right now or if it's worth a shot. Any tips would be much appreciated!

I would strongly advise you to not buy a TV from a store without a return policy. There is too much risk involved, and too many bad (or slightly defective) units out there. You don't want to invoke manufacturer's warranty unless you absolutely need to, because it is a massive PITA and the end result may or may not be satisfactory.

All that being said, if you did decide to try your luck, you should make them open the tv up for you in the store and plug it in. Watch it for a half hour. see if it works. You might still end up with a problem or notice something later, however. Personally, I wouldn't even consider bothering unless the TV was 50% off or more. Even then, I'd probably steer clear. Liquidators are shady.

They have 22 PS3 80gb and 5 of the 160gb in stock at the CC I'm eyeing up...if they drop, the question is which do I go for? An 80gb with a Blu remote and extra DS3 would be $355 out the door (with tax)....which would be LOVELY...

Any tips would be much appreciated!Anything you buy from CC that is in a box has full factory warranty on it. A floor display is supposed to have full factory warranty as well.

The return policy is only supposed to cover failures or issues during the return period, anything beyond that is supposed to be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Any TV 32" or bigger (and it's not always that size, it could be smaller, as every manufacturer is different) normally has an on-site warranty for it, which means you would have someone come out to your house for the repair and not have to ship it anywhere. Again, every vendor is different, as I've seen some vendors for lower-end TV's make you ship it to them, regardless of size. If you're looking at one 32" or bigger, they should come out and fix it at your house. You could check the manual for the TV you're looking at from the manufacturer's site and see what it says, as that's the final authority on how they handle returns.

The two big TV purchases I've made in the last couple of years had on-site warranties, and I wouldn't buy a large TV without the warranty being on-site.

Even if it craps out on day 1 or 2, the manufacturer will fix it. Though, that could take days to weeks or months, depending on the part needed to fix it or the issue that needs to be resolved.

That was my plan...it simply doesn't justify the $280 (after 30%) vs. $350 (after 30%) price difference for the HD space and Uncharted. Maybe if it had backwards compat...but I still have a barely used PS2.

Oh, and on the headphones topic...hasn't their headphone selection pretty much blown for years? 20% off on their ridiculous prices on them is still probably 10+% more than what amazon or buy has them for regular price. Unless you're talking about the Bose quite comfort ones...

When I was at the Tacoma, WA store last night:
Gaming accessories - 30%
Games - 20%
Camera's - 20%
Headphones - 20%
Social Gaming - 20%
Game Systems - 20%
laptops - 10%
vacuums - 20%
Phone Accessories - 30% (unconfirmed)
movies and cd's - 25%

It was the same at another store in Silverdale, WA

Edit: Of note when I was talking to the liquidator manager last night he indicated he was expecting "one more truck of inventory from the California wearhouse". So it's possible that some store might get restocked on something. I was strangely able to get a Wii Fit, and Live Points last night when none were to be found when I was there on Jan 26th. So I think this goes along with some other reports of a restock on some items.

No haggling they go by what is in the CC system. When it gets 80-90% off they might manually have to put in some discounts (it happened at one CC closing in their first wave).

This guy had to calculate 80% discount in his head for some of my purchases and on a portal HD it was more like 85% but he said if his math was wrong, then I got an early christmas gift from him. :)

I think this liguidator is making a big mistake.
They are running this liquidation the exact same way that they would if we were in a profitable economy.
They have completely Failed to account for the Large percentage of consumers that have been forced to learn how to be more guarded with their money. Similar to how the Oil company's just assumed that when prices dropped, people would start putting on more miles. But that didn't happen.
With an economy like this, putting a sale sign on something does not automatically make it sell out.
I have a feeling they will not drop below 50% off. I think they will be forced to sell off to Re-seller stores.

Funny you should mention this. The FYE near me that was going out of business never got below 50% off. I was there on the last day and sure enough, only 50% off. The difference is, I assume, that they shipped off all unsold stock to an FYE that was not closing, so they never needed to go that low.

Just got back from the CC near Quail in OKC. The earlier reports of them boxing quality console titles up and shipping elsewhere is true - they had not a single Special Edition title or anything like that. I asked about the encap dispays with the console (PS3) in i and I was told that those were to be shipped back to Sony, so no g on that setup. Bose gear demos were the same.

Only thing that there were a lot of were PC games. All of those are still at MSRP, so even 30% off puts them higher than anywhere else.

Really? My CC Manager said come back and see him and he'll work out numbers. But closer to the final days. I have my eye on a few floor samples, and I think I might be able to walk out with a radio, ps3 and 360 for liek 200 bucks.

It seems to be different depending on which of the liquidators is handling a particular store. I was in OH last weekend, and the CC in Stuebenville was at different levels on certain things than the CCs in Pittsburgh. In fact, the stuebenville one SUCKED, as games were only 10%, and this was 2 weeks into the clearance, when most stores I knew of started at 20% on games.

I'm lost, your 2 options are use wireless or do without? I would use the wireless if that was the only option before not having any connection, if you have some way to run some CAT then go ahead and do it.

I found a used one for $50 so I tried it and I haven't had any problems. I probably would've had to spend $20ish just on CAT and then I would've had to go under the house and drill another hole in the floor to connect it directly to my router.

Edit: I was able to get the 60GB HD and it is a great deal at 30% off. It came with 3 months of live and a wired headset. Both were worth $40 separately so I technically got the HD for $35.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully this isn't a trend of the liquidators. Not for the deals, but rather for the people that work there.

Edit: Any idea how this "Speeds up the process". You would think that it's faster to move it out of your store, rather then truck it across the US. But With what I heard them say about closing Warehouses it makes sense to move things to the faster selling store for the liquidator.

It's amazing that people are scarfing stuff up at prices that are much higher than CC's sale prices on the items before they went out of business (not to mention everyday online prices for the stuff). I guess people assume that items must be cheaper, without doing any research.

My brother and I went yesterday; he got a new 360 Arcade for $140, as well as a bunch of movies, games and CDs. I almost bought a Panasonic BD35 Blu-ray player that was marked down to $210, but it didn't come with a remote, one of the rubber feet was missing, and the top was pretty scuffed up. Still thinking about getting the demo LG BH200 combo Blu-ray/HD DVD player that was there yesterday (assuming it hasn't been sold if I do decide to go back and get it).

I actually have a GGC-H20L that I bought a few months ago on Ebay; got it new in the box with three HD DVD movies for $100.25 shipped after an Ebay coupon and MS Live cashback, which I received after the 60-day wait. Very nice drive, I just wish the version of PowerDVD 7 Ultra that was bundled with it supported more than 2-channel audio. I'm toying with the idea of building a HTPC; if and when I do, I'll move the LG to it, along with my Hauppauge OTA HDTV tuner card.

It is so upsetting here in the STL.The big items have stuck around, but many games are flying at only 20% off? People buying accessories they can get cheaper elsewhere all because they are 30% off? There are literally no PS3 controllers at any CC and only one has a numerous amount of games. The problem is that many of the games are great titles, but with all the games I have been able to get way cheaper,20% is not a draw for me.Also, noticed no XBOX360 controllers/accessories,did not see Wii though.Seriously, people are really dumb for picking up items that they drive 20,30 minutes for to save 3 bucks.Way to break even after the cost of your gas.

Good info ... the first few days of the 30% window is probably going to be the last chance to get most of the good games (especially if it happens right before a weekend, which is like a madhouse around here at least). Once it goes beyond that, it's all just going to be niche deals and people getting lucky until the end ... at least that's my take on it ...

I don't see 30% off games being a significant deal except on the games that were on clearance before the liquidation (i.e., $16.96 games down to $12) - and even those were $10 at CC earlier this year.

30% taken off the $60 list price of a recent release is still $42. I've seen every recent 360 release I can think of for less than that (except Fable II). I guess if you missed those deals and can't wait any longer then this is an opportunity.

I agree that this drop will probably clear out most of the halfway-decent titles, if they're not gone already.

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but don't forget about the employees and the jobs that they're losing. Gizmodo has an article up taken from the point of view of one of the better employees.

Article Link (http://i.gizmodo.com/5146694/their-final-words-as-the-grunts-of-circuit-city)

That's not to say that Circuit City didn't dig their own grave, but the whole situation sucks. For CAG's it's a decent way to save some money, but just don't forget the people this hurts the most.

I have to agree here. For the most part, my visits pre-liquidation were totally terrible. I try to call up there to ask a question, I end up getting bounced around until somebody wants to answer the phone. This has happened PLENTY of times, at least waiting 10 minutes each time.

Nobody wants to walk and ask customers if they're finding everything, they just head to different departments and chat it up with the other employees. I've not had the same register problem that others have encountered, though. Finding someone to answer a question is as difficult as trying to fit a round peg in a square hole.

So, in some ways I feel bad. In other ways, I don't. When you have terrible service like that, there's just no excuse for it. Nor will people tolerate it.

This is where I stand. I think the company itself was moronic at best, and if they thought things were going well, customer service wise, they were dead wrong. Now, I do feel bad for most of the employees, as someone who went through a layoff myself 2 years back, but for the most part, I agree that they dug their own grave.

The biggest complaint I had wasn't so much the attitude of the employees, as it's the same as Best Buy, it was the lack of direction those employees were given and the staffing of areas of the store. I shouldn't have to walk around for 5-10 minutes looking for someone to ring me up and get bounced from section to section, while the registers sit un-used. Eventually I'd get sent to customer service, where I'd be waiting for another few minutes while someone needed to go grab an associate from the back to ring up a friggin' DVD. Then, when rung up, it doesn't scan right, and I have to argue with the person showing them their own ad and the price it's supposed to be.

This happened to me so many times that I stopped going there, even if they had the lowest price. I'd rather go to BB and argue about a price match, because they at least have employees where they are supposed to be...and I get reward zone points.

Exactly my thoughts as well. It got to the point that anytime I went into CC, I knew what I was after so I wouldn't have to "inconvenience" the employees. The few times I was going after a locked up item, ugh.... let's not go there, shall we.

While it's sad to see people lose their jobs, I have no pity for the people at my local store.

Hmm, given that info, it looks like it could be just a regional thing. Most stores had the games at 20% over the last week or so.

Hey everyone. At work right now in Madison Heights, MI and everything is going down. Games are now 40%, blu ray is 40. Any questions let me know.

I'm thinking about hitting up this store at lunch.

Are there lots of blu's left?

How about the PS3 wireless keypad?

And any LittleBigPlanet game guides left?

Thanks.

At mine the Blu Ray selection was terrible, and insanely overpriced, so at least at 20% off it was a joke.

Now the consoles for 20% off aren't bad, IF I didn't already own them. Might by a PS3 or 360 for a friend though, but she doesn't own a TV right now, so...

I want to get rock band 2 (all of the instruments) as cheaply as possible. I went by my circuit city yesterday and they had the whole set for 151.xx (20% off)

They also had guitar hero III with the les paul guitar for 30 something, also 20% off.

Do you think getting the instruments separately is cheaper/worth the hassle? Or do you think just getting the whole set for 151.xx is a pretty good deal. I know it doesn't compare to the toys r us deal around x-mas but i guess some savings is better than nothing.

They had two in stock when I went yesterday, so maybe waiting till this weekend for another drop in price is worthwhile?

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but don't forget about the employees and the jobs that they're losing. Gizmodo has an article up taken from the point of view of one of the better employees.

Article Link (http://i.gizmodo.com/5146694/their-final-words-as-the-grunts-of-circuit-city)

From the article:

It has been so frustrating doing sales for the past 3-4 months having to persuade customers to make purchases because of the company's problems.

I rarely bought anything at Circuit City because amazon.com was always $3-$5 cheaper on all music CDs and $10-$15 on DVDs and Blu-Rays... How in the world did they expect to sell merchandise at high prices?

Every weekend up to this, we've been pretty dead. We'd stand around for the first hour doing almost nothing, except help the 1-2 customers that came in at this time.

Maybe they could have laid off some people? If you are just sitting around doing nothing, then some employees should have been laid off to cut down on some costs.

Plenty of people have bad things to say about Circuit City, just like any other retailer. Personally, I always felt this was one of the good stores.

Maybe he felt like that because he worked there? If plenty of people say bad things about a store, then there has to be a good reason for that

One of the main gripes associates currently have is the complete loss of any accrued Paid Time Off, some associates had as many as 140 hours of it that had accrued from never taking a vacation in a year, which has now disappeared into a puff of smoke

You either have no life so you want to work all the time, or you are an idiot for not taking time off.

I can keep going on and on but you can see that this "great worker" was not perfect by any means and he just wants us to feel sorry because he lost his job. Whatever, there has been close to 1 million jobs lost since the beginning of the year so welcome to reality.

I don't see why we shouldn't feel bad for people losing their jobs, and am kind of disturbed by the people in this thread calling them 'idiots'. What, for loyalty, or not wanting to switch jobs, or whatever?

And you're hardly an idiot for not taking vacation time. I'd think most people probably save theirs up, as much as they can. I sure do.

And another thing, really Circuit City going under is HUGE. This was what, the second biggest electronics store in the U.S. I assume? It's really something that it's collapsed.

Why would you save vacation time? Vacation time was created so that people can be away from work, be replenished and go back to work energized. A "fresh" employee will perform better than someone that never takes vacation. You are an idiot if you save your vacation, some employers will not pay your vacation if you get fired.

2. Circuit City going under is a big deal but not huge. They are laying off 34,000 people or something like that? Caterpillar laid off 20,000 people a week ago, Macy's will lay off 7,000 people and so on and on. CC is just a small piece of the pie for job losses.

I have been dealing w/ CC for years, and any time I went in there it was like pulling teeth to get any help. More then once I left, because I was unable to find any one to help me. So yeah it sucks these people are losing their jobs, but they brought it on them selves. So instead of standing around getting paid for not doing anything, they can stand around and not get paid.

Everyone I have talked to about CC going out of business, has had the same experience.

Then again this is just my 2 cents

This is exactly true.

So you can take more of it at once, or use it if you need to for whatever reason, or just need to get away. Not everyone gets much out of a one day break or whatever.

Saving vacation time (if it is an option with the company you work for) is not alwasy stupid. If I had the choice I would bank it at my company for future commitments, for example so I could take more time off in a few years for the birth of a child, death of a loved one, and other events were paid time off would be useful. (FMLA requires employers to give you unpaid time off, so no income if you use that law to force your employer to give you time off.)

I was hurt on the job and unable to work for six months. The vacation time I had saved up not only ensured I was paid the first few weeks I couldn't work, but also put my official date of leave until the next month. This fact saved me a month of COBRA insurance payments (Very, Very expensive, as you pay both your and the employers premium every month, but better than no insurance......)

True, I was taking the chance that if I get fired (or didn't give my employer two week notice when I left) I would lose the time and monty, but it worked out in my case.

Oh, and it's rough out there, I got a call from a buddy of mine, he saw a job ad for Aircraft Pilot position, he walked in his resume in person to the company since it was local. The recruiter told him that they put the job only online, it was up for only 24 hours, and they received 3,000 applications either via email, fax or in person. These job losses are across multiple sectors and industries, I think they only people hiring nowdays are bill collectors and repo men......

Anyway, to get back on topic, I am going to check with the Circuit City again today and see if they have been restocked (I read the post about the west coast stores possibly getting one final shipment from the warehouse.)

Yeah, who in their right mind would quit a job that required them to do as little as possible and still get paid the same regardless?

A "fresh" employee will perform better than someone that never takes vacation. You are an idiot if you save your vacation, some employers will not pay your vacation if you get fired.

Here's just one example, I had 150 hours of vacation time at the end of October from not taking hardly any vacation for a year. Why? Because I was going to need to take the whole month of November off for the birth of my son.

At my office, it is not uncommon for people to have upwards of 200 hours of vacation. Some, like my immediate boss, even run into the situation where they *must* take leave or lose it as we're only allowed to carry over 240 hours (6 weeks) year to year. Also, we have a large international worker base, so many take two months off every other year to do international travel.

I dont really see how any company can get away with not paying accrued leave. It's part of your compensation package for work you've already done. It would be like paying you $500 for a job then a month later taking back $50.

Fortunately, my agency pays off accrued vacation upon separation. They dont pay sick leave though, hence, I use that up about as quick as I earn it.

Yikes. That's astounding there would be that many in 24 hours for such a specialized job!

Yeah, I can only carry forward as much as I get in a year, but I save all that. I don't know that they're happy I take it in big lumps though, but I don't like just taking off a single day or whatever.

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not, but all of the stores that are on the accellerated markdown schedule will close in 10 days. My store is one of those stores, and we now have video games and CD/DVD/Blu's for 40%.

Also, a lot of you guys are real jerks. I didn't like the company, and I worked there for 4 years. That certainly doesn't mean I'm happy about it going out of business. Did it deserve to? Yes. That doesn't mean anything.

So has anyone gotten any more of those crazy YMMV deals by trying to get the CSR's to lower the price even further? I.e., asking them if they could possibly give you a game for say, $5 or $10?

Although anything remotely good was no doubt moved out by the liquidators (never available - perhaps sold to other retailers, corporate buyers, or people/companies with hookups/connections) or "bought" (more likely stolen) by the workers.
