If possible, I'd love if you could give me an update on store status.

I may end up taking a drive down there if I have to.
I will be going there today, Ill PM you if I find points cards in stock.

Games are officially discounted 30% now, up from 20% over the weekend.

In Houston stocks of PS3 games are dwindling fast, but Xbox 360 and Wii games are plentiful.

Video game accessories are still the same 30%.

Picked up a God of War II guide for a .01 . I had them price check a few guides and this one was the only one.

Brooklyn NY: All PC and Video Games 30%. They still had a bunch of PS3 Games in glass cases. For 360 they still had GHWT and Rock Band 2 (game only), Fable 2, Soul Calibur 4, Fallout 3. Wii was pretty much cleaned out. Guides were 40% off. Computer hardware/accessories seemed 30% off. Still not enough to make me bite on anything. PC games: A ton of Gears of War, Warhammer Online, and LOTRO. They had a bunch of The Orange Box and Far Cry 2. Saw a couple collectors editions, it doesn't seem like they've sold that many PC games.

They had a bunch of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero full sets, along with just guitar sets, but I believe they were only 20-25% off.

Burbank, CA: I also saw that game discounts went up to 30%. I wandered around the store a bit ... I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like things are still overprice even with the going out of business discount. I'll probably check in at the end of the week to see if they're getting any more desperate to liquidate the stuff.

Green Bay store still had a few arcade/pro's in stock. Game discount was up to 30%, but the game selection looked pretty picked over. Accessories were 30% off, but anything for Rock Band and Guitar Hero was specifically 20% off. Stopped me from buying the Mad Catz bass, alas.

Was in Green Bay over the weekend, and managed to pick up Chrono Trigger for the DS @ 30% off. Also picked up a copy of WoW: WotLK for a friend at the same price.

As of Saturday night, the store still had a decent selection of 360 and PS3 games; Wii and DS were much more picked-over. FWIW, I don't remember seeing a single HDTV priced under $1,000.

(If you want to buy something other than video games / CDs / DVDs, don't expect most of the items in the store to have price tags....which makes it really difficult to calculate discounted prices.)

A big 'meh' for the Whitestone store today. Nothing's changed, and nobody is buying games at 30% off. They need to accelerate the game discounts, if they hope to sell any of them.

I'm tempted on Resistance 2 also. Once games hit 40% off, I'll hit up my CC and see what's left. I might even be tempted on an XB360 if they have any pros and the hardware drops to 30%.

Also by chance did anyone see any ipods left in their stores? I may have to check that out too.

No iPod. It also seems that they will be subject to a 10% ceiling for the liquidators. I had asked if they would be getting some back in later, they said no. The CC near me, they lasted about 3 days at 10%.

There not really going to go out of bussiness not my circuit city it is an ingenous marketing ploy in which they will eat all the money and come back stronger!

evilmregg. That is how it is supposed to work. I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of economics. Allow me to explain myself,
raising prices and little customer service is just the way they have been doing it for years. Just because they are going out of business doesn't mean that plan hasn't work I mean common! They are just informing the liquidators of their solid bussiness plan.
How could you not see that? dang!

I asked the guy I usually would BS with about games and he told me that the liquidator was shipping a lot of good stuff to other stores in the area, specificaaly the Southdale store. So a lot of stuff I was waiting on is gone. I'm going to miss that store, I got a ton of great deals there and even bought 2 HDTVs from them.

I was going to see if some CAGS wanted some when and if accessories goes to 40% off.
My store has racks full of 1600 MS point cards in clampshells, hundreds of them.
With the current 30% off, they are $14 + 9.25% tax = $15.30
If they drop to 40%, they would be $13.11
That's without shipping, or paypal fees, and who knows what other charges I get hit with.
I've considering emailing the codes, but that's yet more problems.
Hence why I haven't offered before.
It sounds like a lose-lose for me.

The circuit city in middletown NY is essentially dead. I mean they tarped over a lot of the aisles and condensed the place to only a couple of rows. I mean for the most part its just a lot of Display HDTV's for sale. I'd like to know when they'd mark down again only due to a ihome alarm clock/stereo for my zune (i figure that won't be selling anytime soon) I mean at the price they got it at now its still way above what I can get it at other places.

That usually means you will not get any further discounts on anything that's covered. It will be shipped to a different store that is actually selling their items.

Head to the Madison West location. There are probably 40 PS3s stacked on either end of the gaming section (20 per side), and a ton of 360 arcade units under the 360 shelves. I think the 80GB PS3s are around $350 and the arcade 360s are at $140. There's also all the GH:WT you can eat for every platform (but no RB2). I'm probably going to try to snag an Onkyo606 for $150 off.

They get restocks of stuff in. When % off went to 30 all the Wii games were gone except a handful, then the next day, it was restocked with em. Maybe they took them off the floor for a short bit though, who knows.

I bet it's YMMV, as my store hasn't even hit 40% yet, so I doubt it would jump to 50%.

I was at the Madison West CC on Tuesday night. They had about 70 PS3's in 4 different locations around the video game secion (Two piles in the isles, one endcap and under the PS3 games). All PS3's were the 80 GB version and were $319.99. They also had a bunch of Xbox 360 Pro's for $239.99 under the 360 games. I heard an associate tell a customer that there were a few XBOX 360 Arcades left in the back. Quite a few games were left, but many were either $59.99 or unmarked, making the 30% discount either not great enough or tough to calculate. They had several RB2 stand-alone drums for the 360 and several RB2 stand-alone guitars for the 360 and PS3, but no RB2 band kits. All GH and RB2 stuff was 20% off, except for the stand-alone games - those were 30% off in the games section.

I've noticed those Verge accessories en masse at various Circuit Cities I've hit recently. Funny thing, I don't remember CC carrying them before the liquidation...

They had them before. I got a drum stool and mic stand for 50% off prior to Christmas.

Anyone been to the Sawgrass store in Florida? Two weeks ago games were 30%, they had a lot of older stuff, nothing new, except Prince of Persia. Lots of console accessories.

Wondering if they're at 50% yet.

The Boise CC has been pretty good about getting new stuff. I always see a bunch of Wii/Wii Fits sitting behind the counter, usually have 1600 XBL point cards. Have most of the newer games it seems.

I just wish I could find a 12 month XBL subscription card. THAT would be sweet

All the good stuff for 360 is gone but I've noticed lots of Saints Row 2 SEs. I bit on the 360 wireless adapter just in case lol , is your name from the local pojo arcade in the area?

You know, based on what I'm seeing here, it appears the merchandise is migrating northward, towards the border. I know this defies the procedure of a liquidation, but are the chances of unsold merchandise being sent to CC's still-existent Canadian sector?

Just enough conspiracy theory, I guess.

By north, I mean Michigan and Wisconsin, which are getting stuff from other stores. Like I said, it's more of a conspiracy theory than anything. I'm in no way saying there's something fishy going on, just an observation.

Not to defend "Flushola", but he works at the MI stores that are closing early, their last day is the 16th. It would seems that his deals so far are applicable to those store that might be closing early, or only in MI. Wasn't it said early on that the liquidation was being handled by 4 liquidators, so it's bee YMMV all this time for the deals.

I still appreciate his input.

LOL, no i bet most people think that.

I actually grew up in Portland and relocated here, I have been using that name for years and was pretty suprised to see a "Pojo's" arcade in Boise

The name is actually an obscure video game reference froman N64 game called "Mace: the Dark Ages" Its a fighting game that has a secret character that is a chicken named Pojo.

Colored me confused. I think I live in another dimension, my CC in SE Wisconsin is still at 30 percent off for games and dvds and lower on the big stuff. Boy did alot folks get suckered I did the math and nothing was better or equal to internet sites and nearly all the game section is gone. I'm tempted to open a mom and pop and just have a huge sign saying out of business with 20 percent off MSRP year around.

I think restocks are more by region. There is no way they are shipping stuff around the country. Maybe if it's stuff in their wharehouse, but not from 1 store to another 10 states away. Though, the restocks to the north may just be because we have more fools willing to take crappy discounts off overpriced stuff. I'm waiting to check again tomorrow for a drop to 40 or 50% to pick up a network adapter. Grabbed 3 1600 pt cards today. If they drop tomorrow I am buying any left on the shelf. Lots of controllers for 360 and some dualshocks as well in mn.

Went to Madison, WI West at lunch today. Still a fair amount of games. Games and movies are still 30% off. Systems are 20% off with several 360 Premiums and 80GB PS3s. I snagged the last 360 Rock Band 2 that someone tucked in the middle of a Saints Row stack, so I'm happy. They still have all the RB components (80 for drums, 55 for wireless guitar), but no software.
The guy behind the counter said he expects them to close around the end of March.

I was there too over lunch. Still not sure if I want to pull the trigger on a PS3 for $319.99. They had quite a few left. Maybe 50-60 total. If they go below $300, then I"m sold for sure. Do you recall when the software went from 20% off to 30% off or the systems from 10% to 20% off? I'm hoping for 30% off systems and 40% off software. What day do they make the switch?

Hit the St. Peters, MO Circuit City at lunch today hoping for a few deals but didn't find much. Everything was at least 25 percent off from what I could tell. I only really dug through the games, movies, and music.

Regret passing on Just Cause for 360 @ 30% off $12.96

But I did get on DVD:
Judge Dredd $6.99
King of Kong:FFOQ $15.xx

Saw a lot that I wanted but don't have the money right now. May go back in a week or so and see if they upped the percent off.

To me, for a store that is liguidating.... they had a lot left. Problem is, it's all just kinda tossed onto the racks so you just have to go through it a bit at a time.

And, if you go... tell me if it still smells like body odor. Ick.

I tend to believe him because there last mark downs were anounced on a friday.he also told me that the Bangor and Agusta stores will not get restocked. only one getting restocked is the Portland store. I will be calling them first to see if I was getting the stright poop before wasteing gas on over priced games. here is one last tip, if you don't see the game you want in the video game isle go to the dvd isle bescause I must have seen 20 video games hidden there. was tempted to put some of them back but now that I know where there hidden I might just grab 1or 2 if the % go up.

I think that is what I will try on Thursday with the PS3. If it gets marked down on Thursday then I win. If not, then I will get it for 20% off, which is a decent deal right now. Never, I don't do that kind of stuff. :D I would forget where I put it if I resorted to those kind of tactics, considering how many CC I used to hit up.

Actually, I think I saw it in the glass case. Don't you go hiding the good ones now. I'm usually very impatient when looking for games, in & out, but now I guess I might need to snoop a little the next time I hit up the DE CC

I didn't see the glass case at the Springfield store but maybe I didn't look hard enough. It appeared they moved all the games to a section where some of the DVD's used to be. Where the games used to be, well, they filled that area with accessories. I've never seen so many in my life. None of the good ones like the points cards though.

I didn't have too much luck with the DE CC's though. The last thing I picked up was a copy of the Fallout 3 CE (360) for $41.99. It was the only one I've seen at the DE stores (though I saw several PS3 CE's).

Games are still at 30% in Bellingham, WA. The small glass case is gone however, so all those newer PS3/Xbox games (Resistance 2, Prince of Persia, Mirror's Edge) are no longer protected by a locked case and disinterested employees. The Wii and DS sections are picked over and there aren't many accessories to speak of, but there was a large box of Dualshock 3 controllers ($43). There are four copies of the Fallout 3 LE. Bluray still 30% off also.

Just waiting for that 40%.

Most of the open box items (stereos and TVs) were still more expensive than just buying new on Amazon.

The deals suck here. TVs are still more than new on Amazon... and a guy there said anything worth a darn would be shipped off to other stores or back to the compant that CC owes money to (sony especially i guess). 20-25% for LCDs and 30% for Plasmas (from MSRP) was as good as it was going to get. Too bad. If I could get a Samsung LN46A630 for $1200 out the door i'd have bought one, and that isn't too far from what Amazon has them at (a few hundred bucks is a big deal to me, but to the liqudators? I don't see the liqudating anything....)

As far as games, the guy i was with said that other than Xbox 360s for $240 with kingfu panda and Lego Indian Jones, and Elites for $320 (but no extra games) there were no deals. The 60 Gig for $240 isn't even that good when you can get a deal on dell with Tom Clancy End War for $260.

Grab Resistance 2.

They still had a bunch of collector's editions of Saints Row, GTA4 and Soul Caliber.

Most of the open box items (stereos and TVs) were still more expensive than just buying new on Amazon.

Did they have any DS3s?

its in huntington beach. exit beach blvd. its right on beach and edinger.

I checked them out, DS3s were gone, plenty of games though, it seems they've been restocking. Thanks for the heads up though!

I hope someone else in SoCal who finds DS3s would be kind enough to give me a heads up!

If anyone happens to pop into the Rockville, MD store tomorrow (Thursday), could current % and possibly and info on restocking be posted? I'd love to do it myself, but tomorrow's going to be a busy day for me, coupled with having to pack the baby up and head over there...I just can't see it being feasible.

BTW, has anyone in noticed if the Rockville store is being restocked? It's looking more and more sparce in there.

If anyone is looking for a cheap 360, on Amazon's warehouse deals site, they have Elites for $300, Arcades for $160, and Pros w/60GB for $240. Most of them are just open box with a dinged up box, and no damage to the 360 itself.

Ahh nothing like a system that fell off a pallet. I know someone who got a broken PS3 as a result of just a box dent. Amazon just refunded it instead of giving him a new one.

I stopped at the Roseville, MN store this afternoon; no new percentage off, still 30% for games and DVDs. It looks like Roseville and Bloomington (Southdale)stores are getting the lions share from the other local stores merchandise. They just got in a bunch of MS Live 1600 point cards (30% off $13.99).

There were probably 30 DS3s at the one in Fashion Island. This was about a week and a half ago.

has anyone been to the warrington, pa one lately? ive been trying to them to ask some questions, but the line is always busy?

I last went to the Warrington store on Saturday. What questions did you have, I can try to help...

is there anything good at warring store in PA still, i'll be there next weekend

I went last Saturday and they were still 30% off games/CD's/DVD's (They had a fair amount of games as well, for all systems, even saw a few Fallout Special Editions), I remember the only iPod's they had were 8GB Nano's (since my friend was looking for a Shuffle), Pre-owned games were 40%, Accessories were 30% (they has almost no accessories for 360 or PS3, but they had a ton of PS2 controllers, some PSP and NDS accessories), also, I'm not 100% sure on this, my memory might be foggy but I -might- have seen 30% off Guitar Hero/Rock Band accessories. I could be wrong, because it used to be 20%, so don't quote me on the GH/RB stuff...

I asked today and they said Circuit City will be closing complete in 4-6 weeks. BTW they are taking applications for a temporary job. LOL.....

I laughed at the now hiring thing as well until I started thinking about it, I used to be a part-time manager at an apparel store which I hated. I've been looking into getting into electronics sales, have had a couple interviews (shift leader for electronics department at Sears, commissioned sales position at Best Buy) and both were scared away by lack of experience in electronics.

With the job market the way it is my 6 years of retail experience isn't something people will jump for anymore, they want specific experience in the job they'd hire me for. Circuit City is desperate for people, I could get a job there a couple days a week, get some experience (doubt enough though), and get first dibs on deals there as percentages increase.

And to be on-topic, just got off the phone with my friend from the inside. He knows percentages are going up for the weekend he thought it was Friday, but said if other stores are his probably is as well. That would be the Leominster, MA store.

I went to the Downers Grove, IL after work and everything was pretty much the same:
dvd's/music cd's/all games/game accessories = 30%
tv's = 20%
pc's = 10%
didn't see anymore consoles but they did have a bunch of ds's, pink and black/red.

But as i was leaving I overheard a customer at the checkout line talking with the cashier and he asked the cashier when the tv's were going to 50%. He didn't know when they would be 50% but he said that tomorrow the tv's would go to 30%. So I'm hopng other things (games) will go to 40% (or higher)!!!!

i think they're doing that on purpose. they've had pretty good clearances on games since they've been in business.. it's just they're trying to milk everyones' wallet for as much as they can before they close all of their stores. they do this by marking up prices, then "discounting" them off at a percentage of the marked up price.

So I'm guessing we're going to be starting to see a major rift forming in the next few days between the stores that are shutting down in 10 days or less, and the one's that will be staying open until mid-March. My buddy & I went to two different Circuit Cities one in Springfield, PA and one in DE. PA was cleaned out basically of anything useful video game wise or nothing we didn't have. It had typical stuff Halo 3, Gears 1 & 2, Fable 2...stuff we already own. We were shocked to see ONE copy of Left 4 Dead and Fallout III Limited Editions behind the counter. I picked up a play & charge for $14.83 (that's including tax). Not bad I guess. ($17.99 on Amazon my go to price checker so saved a couple bucks) I really wanted a copy of Oblivion Game of the Year Edition so I asked if he wanted to make the 15 min trip to DE. Sure why not. There video game selection was HUGE, but None literally no accessories or consoles but again all stuff we owned already or didn't want. I was pretty disappointed and so I picked up Overlord for 13.99 (No tax in DE.) ($19.99 on Amazon). I did briefly debate taking the only copy of Mirrors Edge, but ultimately decided not to. Neither had MS Live points. :(

I'm beating a dead horse into a pulp, but again: "they" that ran CC stores pre-liquidation is different than the "they" that are running the liquidation. The stores are all run by liquidators. Rag on them all you want, but they and their policies have little if any relation to Circuit City's pre-liquidation management and their policies.

The Circuit City in Bel Air, MD still has a good amount of stuff, including games of all varieties, but no consoles or controllers or the like (so much for getting a nunchuk on the cheap). There is also a ton of Guitar Hero/Rock Band stuff.

I also found a good deal for World of Warcraft. I snagged the retail box copy (for the serial) for 13.99, as well as a 60 Day Prepaid card for 20.99. 37.88 total so I ended up saving around 15 bucks. Probably about as good a deal as you're gonna get on WoW (wish I waited until today though to make it even less).

When the discounts go over 50% I'll probably go pick up a copy of the Burning Crusade.

I'm not saying where, but I found a copy of Chrono Trigger DS and I *didn't* buy it. Yet. :) I'm taking a chance and waiting for another percentage off increase. Yeah, someone might buy it, but I figure if no one has by now, and given how deserted the store was last night, I think I have a half decent chance it will still be there when we hit 50% off. Thanks. My guess is that lower traffic/slower stores will be closing quicker than higher traffic stores.

You'd have to look for signage in-store, ask someone in-store, or look for discounts getting larger than other stores. Discounts increasing quicker than other stores is a sign that the store in question is closing quicker than other stores.

I would defiinitely like to buy a Fallout CE on PS3 and a DS3 if possible at this location. Unless someone here can tell me they don't have it... then I might not go then.

Happy findings fellow CAGers!

Definitely a no-go on the DS3 (long gone...for weeks now).

Stopped by the Hicksville CC. A few accessories left (none x360 accessories). Still packed with 360 games, most regular (non-CE) editions. And everything is as expected with today's drop (40% off games and accessories).

I want one of those 360 wireless wheels but I've struck out at 4 stores so far.

Last I saw, Fallout 3 CE were all behind the counter.

For those who have gotten one of the console collector's edition, such as Fallout, did the sticker price read 59.99 or did they just ring up that? I asked cause they still said 79.99 when I was there the other day.

sticker reads 79.99 at my store but it rings up @ 59.99 minus the 30% off. Just lazy CC employess (before liquidation) didnt update stickers on product, and once liquidation began they sure werent going to update stickers at that point.

In south austin they have signs saying 20-50% off but i couldnt find one item at %50 off.

Honestly this is a really sloppy closing. CompUSA did a much better job.

I was at the CC in West Jordan Utah yesterday, still have to watch out. Games were 30% off but were still at full MSRP, example, Virtua Fighter 5 was $39.99 at 30% off, it can be picked up new on Amazon for $19.99.

An olympus camera was $89.99 after 30% off, was $85 on amazon. Take a internet enabled phone if you go, my advice.
