In that case, +1 to vendor owned RROD 360's

That's ok, I'll get my cheap PS3 one day :D

I would check Overstock's auctions. I got a 360 Premium about a year ago for $81 plus $10 shipping from Best Buy Outlet and it's still working great.

They jacked everything they could back up to $60 before taking the discounts off. I was hoping to get Bourne Conspiracy for $15 since the last time I saw it there, it had a price tag of $29.99. Tonight, there was no price on the game and when the cashier scanned it, it came up $30 after 50% off. Decided to hold off until at least 60% for that one.

Yeah, that's why I was checking prices on my phone before buying them but missed the Unreal Tournament 3 price. Now in order for me to get my money's worth, I'm starting to play the newest release games first so that at least I've played it through before prices everywhere else eventually goes down on it. I'm half way finished with PoP, and will start Mirror's Edge next, then probably Far Cry 2, then Fallout 3, then Crackdown, then Lost Planet. Still don't know when I'm gonna find time to play them though. I'm gonna try to return UT3 at Best Buy and see if I can get at least $30 credit.

I'm not sure why you're comparing this to Black Friday since BF is over 9 months away. If it's something I really want to play then I'm going to pay $5 or so dollars more and play it now. I'm not going to wait 9 months on the chance that it will be $5 to $10 cheaper. Now, if it was something I don't really care about I'll gladly wait for it to be either 70% off at CC, or wait until BF.

If a game you REALLY WANT NOW, then compare to just Amazon.

To me, most of games I WANT bad, I already have.

NONE of the games left are must haves.

Brick, NJ CC doesn't have much left in the way of games. Some copies of Soul Calibur 4 still hanging around and bunch of discount titles. PC games are fairly decimated unless you want Warhammer Online which had a ton of copies left.

I'm surprised they seem to have a lot of TVs left though the prices look like they jacked them up before taking the discount as they are nothing special.

The CC in Union/Springfield NJ on Rt. 22 seemed completely cleared out with only original Xbox and old DS games available....and then I saw the pile of PS3, 360 and Wii games behind the customer service area.
Got me Resistance 2 and Fallout 3 for 30 each. Not bad, basically greatest hits pricing but with getting the games now.

A lot of older stuff there too and I couldn't see much but I'm sure they had at least 8 more Resistance 2's left if anyone's in the area.

I know I was asking about Rochester, NY store yesterday, but I just got back from there and needless to say it was cleaned right out. Maybe 20 games total between all the systems. All GHWT and RB2 bundles sold out, would have been a wasted trip had I not found some decent CD's and Diary of the Dead

Hehe...I hear you about finding time to play everything you've bought. I still have a couple games left from X-Mas that I haven't played yet. Now I just got 6 more on top on that plus I haven't even played through FEAR 2 for which I paid full price. I'm getting Dragon Quest V today as well as the new Star Ocean next week so I'm sure the backlog is not getting any smaller any time soon! :D

For those asking about the CCs in the New York area, I just got back from the 5th Ave and Union Square Manhattan stores:

It's 50% off PC software, Video Games, CDs, & DVDs. 40% off "Social Gaming."

The 5th Avenue store is pretty much cleaned out of game related stuff - about a dozen Xbox 360 games, mostly sports related, next to no PS3 stuff, nothing for the DS save for a few copies of Napoleon Dynamite, a bunch of Wii stuff, mostly Bass Fishing and Harvey Birdman. A tiny selection of PC titles, mostly WoW Burning Crusade and a few others. Still stacks of Guitar Hero stuff.

They still have a small selection of DVDs and CDs, but nothing remarkable. You're in luck if you want Dark Knight, Hancock, or Horton Hears a Who DVDs. They have a butt-load.

The Union Square store is the place to go if you're looking for stuff in NYC. They still have next to nothing for the PS3 or DS, but they do have a small Cluster of 360 games including one copy of Lego Indiana Jones, one pre-owened Halo 3 CE, a few C&C Red Alert 3s, and a bunch of Unreal Tournament and football titles, and a small selection of PS2 stuff, mostly Rock Band track packs and old GTA titles. Again, their Wii selection is mostly Bass Fishing and Harvey Birdman.

They have a wide selection of PC titles though. One side of a whole isle worth.

They also have a fairly big selection of DVDs and Blu-Rays left as well. Nothing jumped out at me, but they probably had about 3 times the stock of the 5th Avenue store. Again, you're in luck if you want Dark Knight, Hancock, or Horton on DVD. Massive amounts of these movies.

I almost picked up C&C: Red Alert, but then saw that the price sticker beneath the marked price was significantly lower and remembered that this whole deal was still kind of a sham. Amazon sells it for the same price as the discount.

Catonsville MD actually had the exact two things I was looking for - the Rock Band 2 Fender bass and the Stage Kit. $109 total after tax (40%) off. I know that's a lot for two novelty items, but their both for parties. I'll just get my friends to bring the booze and I'll still get off easy!

They had one Stage Kit left. And tons of instruments, World Tour kits, DVD's, and CD's. Also some decent PC games (about 100 or so). Oh, and about 7 Prince of Persia 360 for $30. NO PS3 games.

Went today in hopes of picking up Star Ocean: First Departure or Second Evolution. All that was left were some UMDs.

Store was pretty cleaned out, and hardly any great deals still at 30-50% off.

I went yesterday and man, what a sad sight... the store is pretty much down to half its original size though most of that space is dedicated to overpriced TVs (even after the discount).

I picked up a copy of Crush for $5 and this Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex Season 2 special edition or something (comes some figures or something) for $7.

Picked up rogue galaxy for $6.50 and GH:WT for $30 at the CC in North Bergen, NJ.

I picked up Star Ocean: First Departure - PSP for $20.00.

I saw both Rogue Galaxy and SO First Departure hidden between some PC software and thought about buying them. I wish I had know Rogue Galaxy was only $6.50 though, I would've snagged it. I'm guessing they're gone by now. I was iffy about SO though... figured it was supposed to be $30 retail but guess now.

Hawthorne, CA is not that great.

I just got back from that store. It's great if you are looking for PC games. And you weren't kidding about Fallout 3 CE for PC. There must be 30+ lunchboxes there. I've never seen such a huge section of PC games at any other Circuit City location. Any PC gamers in the area should check it out. I decided to save the $10 and bought Fallout 3 PC regular ver. instead of CE. I didn't really care much for the lunchbox and other stuff inside.

I took a look at the X360 games as well and also saw lots of Soul Calibur 4 and some Lego Batman and Lego Indy. The store still had a decent # of X360 consoles behind the customer service counter.

My closest Circuit City had roughly 30 Rock Band 2 Bundles (PS3 only) and scads of Fallout everything. I ended up grabbing another copy of Persona 3 @ $10, Darkstalkers (PSP) @ $3 and a couple penny guides. I felt bad for all the saps in a frenzy to pickup a new LCD on the cheap. 60% off at Circuit City is STILL pushing it.

Is $139.99 for an X360 Arcade a good price? There are some left @ my local CC and I'm tempted to get one.

When you can get one on ebay for the average of 125 shipped. It's an meh to ok deal. Unfotunately none of them have the jasper chip :(

maybe when sears/Kmart goes belly up, i'll get lucky then.

Went back to pick up a few blu-rays and dvds, and the only blu I picked up was Revenge for 12.00. Also got the Office season 2 for 20.00, and Enter the Dragon for 3.50. But the best part of this post is letting everyone know that if you want the Sex and the City movie, that my CC literally has at least 150 copies. It is the craziest thing I have ever seen,ha. I might go back and pick up season 3 of the Office, but the cheapness in me tells me to wait another week for the next drop.

edit- No tax on dvds and everything? I'm surprised I haven't seen this posted yet, or I might have missed it. For instance Revenge blu-ray was priced 24.99 but I got it for 12.00.

Re: Rock Band 2...i didn't see Bundles for 2...but they still have Rock Band 1 bundles in stock.

this is why i hated that store on 80th.

i call once, he say they dont have it in stock for the bundle but they have rock band 2 game only 30

i call to see the stock of rock band 1 bundle, she redirects me to the main menu.... again

so i go to the operator [since they never, ever pick up the phones for their sections, theyve even said that before], and a new person tells me i need to come in store for inventory check.

Hi all! Just wanted to create this thread to let everyone know that if you are going to take advantage of the last days of your local Circuit City, you definately want to wait till your final day of business. Mine closed a few days ago and at the end of it all on the last day they slashed EVERY ITEM in the store to FIFTY CENTS, no shit. I calculated my haul and I walked away with 2000 dollars worth of stuff for just under twenty five bucks. I got memory pro duo sticks, sd cards, wireless network cards, dvds, cds, pc games, speaker accesories, ipod stuff, even a free laser jet printer that retails for 200 bucks, with the ink toner cartridge that is 85 bucks. So do yourself a favor and wait till the VERY END, don't be suckered by their 30 percent or 50 percent off stickers.

I saw a couple of things that I had considered getting but was on the fence (Logitech G15 keyboard or whatever being one of them).. the box had been opened, and today it was shrinkwrapped. I really wouldn't be surprised if they were doing this to games/software as well. I'd say watch out.

There is one 360 Arcade left at my local one that I had considered getting while waiting to get mine back from Microsoft due to another RRoD, but they keep telling me that game hardware is only 25% off. I still can't justify the purchase. Camcorders are only 30% off, I wish they'd go lower. I almost want to drive to a few other stores looking for stuff, I know I'd grab Godfather on blu ray and Battlestar season 3 if I saw them.

Hard to believe.

Because if it's just us Cheapass (Savvy shoppers) I would believe you, but really many many shoppers are just stupid and buy things they could get WAY cheaper like on Amazon!

I spotted one of the powerline adapter sets tonight, which I bought from CC about six months ago(and returned unopened a week later), for $45 and change with the discount.

It originally was $99.99, if it's still there next week and the % goes up to 60% off, I'll get it.

For those who don't know wtf it is, a powerline adapter kit uses your existing wiring in your house as ethernet cable to bridge the gap between your router/modem and the location(s) you want to bring your internet connection to.

Any ps3 bioshock or resistance 2 left in socal cc?

Pretty sure I saw some of both games in the glass case at the Van Nuys location (went there a couple of hours ago - 2:30ish). There may also have been some R2 copies in the actual PS3 section, but that was pretty much slim pickins over there.

Van Nuys in general is pretty much slim pickins, save for the PS2 and 360 sections. Everything else is practically crap, save for a couple of things (e.g. Hotel Dusk).

Anyone know how Burbank, CA is looking?

Has anyone seen any world tour full band kits in socal?

Yeah, they still have them at the Culver City location. At least a dozen for X360 and probably the same for PS3. $115 plus tax. Two were sold in front of me (X360) when I was there a few minutes ago. They also have a FEW Rock Band 2 bundles for PS3 and X360 left.

There are STILL 3 Fallout 3 CE for X360, a couple of Saints Row 2 CE's for X360, 4 or 5 Halo 3 CE's, a couple of Madden CE's. PS3 I took the last Fallout 3 CE so I can have another one for trading purposes. PS3 CE's = 1 or 2 Saint's Row CE, a couple of Madden CE, 2 Mortal Kombat vs. DCU CE's, 1 or 2 SOCOM w/ headset CE's, and 1 Warhawk w/ headset bundle. The Warhawk bundle is IN A RED BUCKET ON THE FLOOR BEHIND THE FRONT COUNTER.

360 games are toast, I got the last copies of Professor Layton and Red Riding Hood Zombie BBQ for DS, other than that DS is just about toast, PSP is total toast, PS2 actually has a bunch of games but it's 95% crap.

Wii they must have found more games because the entire X360 glass case is now all Wii. Nothing really good. 95% crap. PS3 is 75% crap.

Anyone in LA seen any more Resistance 2 Collector's Editions? Anyone with an extra one looking to trade for a PS3 Fallout 3 CE?

well I went back to the store where I bought the copy of The Orange Box

I had to talk to three different employees before I finally got a manager and they all just told me I'd have to go to this website and file a claim

I told them how did I know this was an isolated incident? maybe this is fraud and I asked the manager for his name (he wasn't wearing a name tag) he said he didn't have to divulge that information

so I'm going to contact Chesterfield County because I think they have some sort of consumer fraud protection and contact the local media since they have a NBC 12 On Your Side

yes it's only $10 but it would seem this probably isn't an isolated incident given Jeff..... also had the same problem with a copy of Bioshock

Just came back from another peek at the West Jordan UT store. Totally picked clean in the games department. Was hoping Fallout 3 had magically appeared but no luck. In fact there was probably about 30 items total counting all console and PC software. Only decent things were Soul Caliber IV for 360, Crysis Warhead for PC, TF2 for PC, and there was a Spore Galactic and a few Spore Evolutions. Everything else was junk. The 50+ GHIII's I saw last week were down to just a handful, priced at $32 it seemed.

Outside of games, they have a ton over overpriced GPS systems which probably won't move until they are 75% off based on their MSRP. They've got quite a few movies left, considering the crowd in that section they must have quite a bit of stock of movies in the back since it seemed they had the same amount last weekend. They had a few laptops but still at 10% and not moving. I came across a 2x2GB DDR2 kit for .... $89 AFTER the discount. I lol'd IRL. Most of the TV's were gone too, they had a few but I honestly didn't even bother looking at them as I know they are still overpriced.

Only thing else I was interested in was headphones but even at only 30% off they are still way more than I'm willing to spend, and they really only had the Sony noice-reducing ones for $69 and a few other cheap-o ones.

Oh, and they have about 200+ really ugly MP3 player covers. Can't imagine them getting rid of those any time soon.

Anyone with any other UT reports? I'm gonna be down in Utah County tomorrow if anyone has seen any better situations down there on games (particularly Fallout 3 CE).

I just got back from one in Cincinnati. They had about 30 copies of Resistance 2 at Customer Service and several other games. I picked it up for $30 and a PS3 Fallout CE for $30 (they had about 4 left). There were also 7 PSPs for sale at $117 (or something similar to that). The "video game section" was picked clean (minus PS2 and crappy DS games), but there were plenty of AAA titles at Customer Service.

Clive Barker's Jericho (360) - $6
Conan (360) - $6
Manhunt 2 (Wii) - $6
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (PS2) - $6
Two Worlds (360) - $8

The store was torn up with only one shelf left for games. All the good stuff they had yesterday was gone except for dozens of the most recent Pokemon Mystery Dungeons for DS, but I'm glad I was able to pick up a few things.

Rock Band bundle at 40% was too good to pass up, but now I need to pick up a second guitar controller. I saw this post:

The CC in Monroeville, PA is pretty cleaned out. Most of the games that they had left were 50% off (they don't have anything worth mentioning other than some GH games). The 'newer' Xbox 360 games were locked in a case and were only 30% off (they were 40% off a week ago) but it was a pretty lame selection. They still had a lot of RB and GH instruments and accessories. They also still have 3 Xbox 360 Arcade systems and 5 or 6 Xbox 360 Pros (the 20 gig version) for sale behind the customer service counter but that looked to be all. I went right before the store closed so I'm sure they will still have some left tomorrow for anybody that's interested.

At my store (Durham, NC) today it was 30% off.

The store was practically picked clean of most decent games. Saw 1 Fallout 3 lunchbox (PS3) and a few decent 360/PS3 games. I managed to grab 2 GoWII guides for a pretty penny  and picked up one of the myriad copies of Prince of Persia: The Fallen King for DS that they had.

All the games nearly picked clean. Just a handful of games left but nothing worth getting.

PC gaming...

A sign said 60% off pc game...
yet everything I got was at 50%. They instituted the policy of older games 60%, newer games 50% :\

Spore, fallouts and so on gone. :(

Lots of Rockband stuff for PS2 with GH Stuff but mostly access crap.

They couldn't find a price of a FSX tips book (not on the book), not in their system so they just made up a price and took half off to 15. Glad I didn't buy it as it was 15 everywhere else.

Blu Rays were slim pickings...nothing really worth it.
Blu Ray box sets ALL GONE :O

DVD's at 50%, some good things left. However it's like once you go BR, you don't want to go back :P

Vista copies ALL GONE :(

Music CD's a mess... couldn't find one single soundtrack :(

They had one ZUNE A/V Dock left tagged at 50.xx with 50% off acc. Rang up 30 dollars. When asked why is it coming up 30 on a 50 dollar tag with 50% off, they said it goes by the MSRP and they won't honor the tag. It was only a 5 dollar diffrenance, but if you look at it, it is 10 dollars cheaper than what TRU clearance had it and 30 dollars cheap than what BB has it... so I took it.

So a word of caution as the stickers are (even the new liquidator tags) wrong.

There was ONE Silver gamecube left for 35 behind the CS counter. Anyone wanting a cube or need a back up, beware...the cube looks beat up with the insides looked like they have been opened.

Some good PC speakers but still too pricey.

went to the one in Union Square Manhattan last night after work. Console games are pretty much empty but there seem to be tons of PC games left. Unfortunately, no Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, or Sins of a Solar Empire, but plenty of Blizzard games and copies of The Orange Box.

Ended up picking up The Orange Box for $15 and found Company of Heroes collector's edition that rang up for less than $10. I was pretty happy about that so if anyone else is looking for it, there's about 5 copies or so left there.

I went to Clearwater FL yesterday, and it said all games 50% off, except of course "social games" like Guitar Hero. (Bologna! I would've purchased GH3 or GH:Aerosmith if it was 35 bucks!)

Anyway I was browsing around the PC games when I came across 100 copies or so of "The Sims 2 Deluxe"... it was 29.99 and half off... but when I went to the register it rang up $2.50.

So I went back and picked up some more MAXIS/EA games, and some (like the Sims Puzzle games like SnapCity) were ringing up $2.50 instead of 1/2 off the shown price!

None of the Sims 2 add-ons though. Strangely.

Great Job Digital! I can report on Phillipsburg. As of friday afernoon they were sucked pretty much dry even though they had a million games about 4 days ago. PS3 you've got

prince of persia, far cry 2 warhawk (bundle), Motorstorm pacific rift, and a bunch of random stuff that isn't worth mentioning

360 you've got almost nothing left with the exception of Lego Indy, Far Cry 2, saints row 2 is now gone.

Also, guitar hero stuff is still pretty abundant.

remembered some more

Easton, PA

Lego Batman (360)
Warhawk Bundle (PS3)
Tony Hawk Proving Ground (PS3) $17.50

Whitehall, PA

Had Vista Home Premium and MS Office in the glass case where video games used to be.

Why do that instead of price checking? I bought a guide (not that one but who knows) for my GF and it ended up being a penny.

I was wondering what price CAG's were looking for on a PSP. The Minnetonka, MN store had about 30 to 40 at 30% off according to the sign. I did not price one. It appeared they had both the 2000 and 3000 series behind the counter.

I think it was the last day to be open. They had ONE aisle with the most random stuff on it. Some guy anncounces "Everything is now 90% off, it has to go!!!" I thought about getting the case of combos (yes the snack) but left.

The place was roped off shelves and shit everywhere. It really looked like a scene from Fallout 3.

If there's still stores that are open that the liquidators have open, there's no reason they'd sell them for pennies on the dollar when they could ship them to another store and make much more profit on it.

So, yes, I'll calling you out unless I see pics of this amazing "haul".

Visited the Circuit City at the Wellington Mall in West Palm Beach, FL. I don't think rich people care that it's a liquidation sale because they had some good things there. Lot's of PCs and laptops, tons of receivers and home theater systems.

Quite a few Resistance 2s, End War, GTA IV. Couple Saints Row 2 CEs, an OK selection of games, better than the Sawgrass Store.

I picked up DMC4 CE (last one) for $20, Rock Band (game) for $20, and a 360 GHIII controller for $23.15. They had lots of Rock Band and GH games and accessories, even the guitar only packages.

Too bad I have no classes in Boca this semester, I wonder how the Boca store by FAU is stocked.

NYC CCs

80th Bway
I went there only once a week ago (first time there ever) when games were 40% off. There were a lot of PS2 games (a lot of uncommon stuff actually) but nothing worth having. Tons of Guitar Hero/Rock Band stuff. I saw some GCN controllers too.

62nd (or 66th?) around Bway?
I went there around 3 or 4 times since liquidation, latest was last week. Had a bunch of PS2 games. Pretty much the same bunch of PS2 games all stores would have though. Some 360 games but nothing worth it imo. There were more PS3 games, only The Orange Box worth mentioning. There were a bunch of GH/RB stuff but just a normal amount.

44th and 5th Ave
Went there several times during elucidation. Latest was yesterday actually. All PS2 games I saw others times were either sold or but away. Do not recall seeing any 360 games, even crap. I think I saw a few PS3 games but were crap. Maybe around 5 DS games (like 5 in total) left (the top tier crap). And only 3 or 4 Wii titles but a lot of them (3/4 different but many copies). GH/RB stuff a plenty (most of CCs I've seen and good condition). I may come back here to look for movie/dvds and maybe pc stuff.

14th Union Sq
Been here several times with most recent being yesterday. A crap combo of PS2, 360, and PS3 games are mixed together. The Wii selection mirrored the 44th St store. A lot of PC games. There were a few The Orange Box copies. Tons of older PC games. I can recall some Guild Wars because i saw a guy buying a set of them (3 or 4 different ones). There were still some GH/RB stuff but boxes were bad. I may only come back for movies/dvds.

I really wanted to get CoD4 for 360 for $19.99 (before liquidation on clearance, non GOTY)

I just checked out the Rego Park store in New York.

They still had behind the customer service desk several copies of Fallout 3 (non CE) for PS3 and 360, Resistance 2, Gears of War 2, Prince of Persia, and some other more recent games.

Around the store, they still had the typical smattering of other stuff. A comparitively large selection of mid-ware 360 games. Lots of Guitar Hero bundles, including several World Tour sets. They only had the PS3 stand-alone drum kits for Rock Band.

As for movies, they had a pretty big selection of box sets left, lots of TV stuff like The Office, Futurama, South Park, House, that kind of stuff. A small selection of Blu-Rays, but nothing great - mostly comedies and dramas. A couple of isles of DVD stuff, but nothing I felt like flipping through as it's all randomly clumped together.

I had this happen at my Sharper Image store, so I can at least vouch for this happening in some cases.

Gordon Brothers' liquidation consultants are all freelance - they are given a fixed timeframe to extract as much money as they can out of the store (or in TSI's case, the district). The consultant, being freelance, is on the hook for most costs incurred during this procedure; this means that if he transfers stock, he's out the truck rental plus any additional day labor he needs to unload it. Thus he won't do anything if the reward isn't significant, as the labor/money involved is great (most of these guys work so hard and get paid so well they only work two-three liquidations per year). He will probably look to close the stores sequentially as well, so that he can get all the closing paperwork done and dusted before he flies home and not be out any more money for accommodation or office space.

The upshot is that I have a *crateload* of The Sharper Image branded wallets, power supplies, CDs, StressErasers, and Bluetooth iPod/dock dongles and all the office gear that I couldn't sell at 90% off that just wasn't worth transferring. It was more cost effective for him to simply give all the junk to me and close the doors as he had already reached his sales quota for my store.

I can't speak for any other liquidation firms and their policies/procedures though.

Wow really? What location? I believe you are right about it being a jasper 360. As far as CC's in New Jersey goes. They are all pretty much empty now, once the games hit 40% off nothing much to show for it. I picked up a couple good titles. Got a copy of Uncharted, and Resistance 2 for 40% off. I really wish the liquidation sales were being done with a universal end date that we all knew about already, since I hate wasting gas to go to my local two stores only to find that they're still in business and still at some shitty % off.

I made out like a bandit at prior store closing sales(DVD's/CD's for $1, etc), so waiting for the last week or so is what most true cheapasses do.

Of course, with the economy as it is, most normal consumers will have picked clean these stores by the time the last week/day fire sales come to pass.

Mind you, if I want a copy(or 12) of Hancock or Indy Crystal Skull, I think I can wait since both local stores had endcaps completely FULL with those two movies the last time I checked either.

I'm guessing that they bought those spots months ago soon after the liquidators took over Circuit City. At most they might keep the 40% ad running rather than replace it with the 50% one if they see good sales at that the lower discount level.

There was one left ... if anyone's interested in trading for the 360 version, I'm game (remember the PC version has DLC + mods so I'd say it's the best of the 3 ... but I just miss playing it on my TV every now and then ;-) ).

Most of the Bay Area CC's seem pretty cleaned out ... anyone know of any well stocked CC's around here ... possibly north of SJ?

I was at over at downtown SF's CC on Wednesday. There was around 20 bundles of GHIII/GHWT for the PS3/360/Wii and around 10 RB1 bundles for the PS3. There were plenty of Dual Shock 3s as well. Most of the PS3 games were cleaned out, only left with crappy games. Most cameras were gone. There are some computer stuff, TVs left.

I laughed when I saw lots of HDMI cables laying around.

Did you actually witness this or was it just from what the employees told you? Since accessories were only 30-40% off, that's still NOT that good of a deal for them, but then again some people think you can make money on ANYTHING.

Hopefully, if it was a hoarder who took ALL of them in one shot, they end up listing them on Ebay and get ALOT of non paying bidders and are stuck with them for a while.

Either way, I've got my fingers crossed that the powerline kit manages to stay at my CC until next week at least. Otherwise, there was jack and shit there that I wanted yesterday when I checked.

I'm surprised to say that the game system kiosks already disappeared from BOTH stores, since normally those are sold on one of the final days in business.

That is, unless the respective companies decided to come by and take back them, but that would be unusual since every store closing I've been to has sold them dead last(even after telling me that 'they have to be shipped back to <insert game company>') and never shipped them back.

Only problems with buying a kiosk like that are:

1) they may be on for 18+ hours a day
2) the stores may not have the keys to get into the compartment where the system is

Only good part about the newer console kiosks is that they come with a sweet LCD tv for each kiosk nowadays instead of some 150 lb SDtv.

Otherwise though, I'd have even bit on the PS3 or Wii one, since chances are the PS3 in it is a 20-60gb model, but they usually want $250 for these fuckin' things.

Just got back from barboursville, WV.

CLEANED OUT! Not many games, nothing worth paying even $3 for. Had a bunch of GH and RB bundles. DVD section was picked clean, except for about 100 copies of "SEX and the Shitty" movie.

CDs were generally strewn about everywhere and didn't bother to look.

PCs were 10% off, and cameras were 30%. Accessories were picked clean and they had a lot of webcams, and $40 mice (after discount), but no trackballs.

When I was there a month ago they really didn't have much, and as I look back on it, they really never did.

Might hit Charleston, WV tomorrow after I visit my grandpa.

I was actually going back to get Crysis Warhead, which I'd passed on at 15, but it was gone, and I was SOOOO tempted for GoW2 at 30, but I already got Fable 2 and had promised myself to buy more PC games since I have a brand new rig, so I put it back, very reluctantly. I doubt it lasted long, it was most certainly the last one left, someone must have tried to hide it in the PC section, or they got new inv. and they just threw it wherever.

Encinitas, CA store, btw.

2 movies I bought I found out were shrinkwrapped when I got home, but they look mint. Is this anything to worry about? I think someone said something about shrinkwrapping earlier?

Some blu ray's and fewer DVDs are shipped from the Mfg. with shrinkwrap instead of the diamond wrap, but its far less common. you should certainly be careful if its shrinkwrapped, but store wrap and mfg. wrap, even when you're talking about shrinkwrap, are usually easily distinguishable. Look for the top and bottom, where the heat cut/seal was done, to be crooked and not resting entirely on the top or bottom edge of the case, and usually the store wrap is a thinnier, wispier material.

Again, you could have just bought a movie that was shipped from the manufacturer shrinkwrapped, so don't worry too much, especially if it works and looks in good order.

How much are the guides going for? I saw the Fallout 3 guide and I'm tempted to get it, but I forgot to ask about the price when I was there. I could use it as the game is huge.

The softcover guide should be $10 or less. Unlikely to find the hardcover as they have been bought up at full price most places I have seen.

Generally, 60%+ off

to the person who hid a copy of left 4 dead (pc) behind a bunch of dvds, thank you! I was sad to have missed it from amazon's black friday special, but $25 at cc was the next best thing!

and yes i prefer boxed copies over digital copies

Your boxed copy doesn't offer any advantages over the digital version. You can't sell it or trade it away once it's been activated.

That's a relief. I was in a rush so I did not check them in store even though I should have. They were both sealed along the sides instead of top and bottom.

LOL Sex and the shitty! that was funny man.

I did ok at my store which had a surprising ok selection of stuff:

Sonic Chronicles - $17.50
Darkstalkers PSP - $6.50
Fable Xbox (original release) - $5
Step Brothers blu-ray - $17.50

They also had Ratchet & Clank Size Matters for PS2 for $15 but I am going to wait until it drops further.

Xbox 360 stuff is almost totally cleaned out... The only thing they have is GH Aerosmith fir 39.99 minus 50%.. And a bunch of overpriced GH bundles...

Nothing else... It's worse picked over than the Willes Barre store!!!!

Haha

That happened to me yesterday when an employee explained to my wife and I the difference in paper quality for a printer. He was very thorough, professional and attentive. My wife told me that this employee was very professional because he probably already found a job somewhere else and does not want to burn his identity

I had a very helpful employee when I bought my Zune alarm clock a few weeks ago at CC.

He helped me find a power adapter for it from a different iHome device, and then he let me test it out with my Zune to make sure it worked. :)

Anybody in SoCal spot any copies of COD WaW? Anywhere in the OC or even the LA area? I'll be visiting family in Pasadena this weekend.

It does, for me, offer an advantage over the digital copy. It sits on my shelf next to all the other pc games. Downloaded games kinda get lost in the memory.

Went by the CC in Sugar Land, Tx yesterday. Games fairly cleaned out there as well. There were about 4 PS3 games left. On the flip side, they had multiple copies of the various Guitar Hero bundles available and there were around 50 360 Pro consoles sitting at the front of the store for $175. Their Blu-Ray movie selection was pitiful too.

Any Houston CAGs know of any other CC to check out in the SW part of Houston?

I keep buying up $10-$20 Adventure games

I LOVE me Adventure games!!! :D

I mean $5-$10, 50% OFF

I'm going to take a leap and assume you picked up "Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals" for the PC. Could you (or anyone else who might have bought it) tell me how much you paid for it? I saw one tagged at something like $29 (but apparently tags don't mean anything at my store...), but passed it up because I didn't realize at the time it was based on the same graphic novel as the movie "Immortal".

Anyway, went to the Staten Island CC today. A small collection of 360 games (mainly sports titles), a $49.99 copy of Battlefield 2 for the original xbox, some PS2 games, 1 or 2 Wii games in the DVD section, didn't notice any PS3 titles. They still had a decent amount of PC games though, including some Fallout lunchboxes and Diablo Warchests. Picked up a Neverwinter Nights 2 for $12, a little more than half of what was on the most recent-looking tag (apparently all the tags are wrong there, so I'm told...)

Should also mention that they had plenty of copies of Hancock...

I saw that tv last weekend, very nice for the price. Wish I could afford it. The 32'' Vizio is $550, so 10'' more for $50. They had 2 left and it looked like it was being replaced by a new 42'' Vizio model for $699.99. 1080P too.

They already are getting cleared out ('m talking World Tour), so if you can still find them at 50% off (next Thursday hopefully) then jump on them. Of course, they will no doubt be found for half off come this Black Friday, but whatever...

Yeah, I saw a few in the Culver City store on Thursday and Friday, scattered all over the store. 1 in the PS2 section, a couple in the cases, and a couple behind the front counter. No doubt gone by now though...

Damn, what gets my goat is that I didn't see any copies of Dragon Quest 4, Chrono Trigger etc. for the DS. While I paid roughly $20 for each new and sealed already, I would have loved to have gotten a few extra sealed copies of each for trade bait or to put away.

And whoever recommended Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ - thanks and I hate you. Damn that game is crazy fun but can be crazy hard, at least until you get comfortable with the control scheme. Man it reminds me of Ikari Warriors in the arcade, with the octagonal joystick you would twist for aiming.

If they are 80-90% off then I would still not buy them. I buy my cables off of monoprice.com. They are cheap and works the same as those monster cables. Only $1 for each cable. I already bought 10 HDMI 6ft and a couple digital audio cables for a total price of only $15.

For HDMI, they are in fact NOT AT ALL better than the ones at monoprice. In fact, I don't remember the technical facts, but I've seen one guy that showed the monoprice ones are actually better overall.

Thing is, it's a digital signal, so there is no degradation, so the monster cables at best are perfectly equal to monoprice. If you're talking something other than HDMI, that would be different, but for HDMI there is really no reason whatsoever to buy monster.
