Just another bankruptcy scare they are still not interested in making sales, even with this "bankruptcy". If they are truly going out of business they are idiots. There's nothing good there when it first started, and you sure as hell aren't going to find anything now.

Any CAG's from Fenton, MO check the Circuit City there????

Nevermind... there must be a CAG or a few there. Plus it didn't help if Slackers was buying stuff up. I went there today after work looking for any good DVD/CD/Games and didn't see anything I needed. At lest the movies were in much better shape than in most. These were all 50 percent off.

I also heard that Ultimate Electronics was at the Mid Rivers location purchasing stuff.

I guess it's every man for themselves. Doesn't make me want to shop at Slackers or Ultimate.

Circuit City in Monroeville, PA has an assload of PC Games, a handful of 360 wireless controllers, about a half dozen PS2 systems, and a handful of games, mostly guitar hero (game only) for a few systems. And, as every other place, they have a bunch of GH:WT and RB2 sets and individual instruments.

:bomb: I thought I'd just quote someone from another forum:

"The store inventory from front to back and top to bottom doesn't belong to CC anymore - they have absolutely no control whatsoever over the pricing in any way, shape, or form.

It's the liquidators that are fucking people over on so-called "deals," not the CC personnel that are still stuck in the stores running out their punch clocks, so to speak. I feel sorry for 'em to some degree, but whenever the pricing just ain't what I think it should or could be, I don't take it out on those folks that are getting close to being unemployed... it's not fair to 'em, really."

By now, there's not much left that isn't demo/out-of-box or complete crap. Slackers was sleazy enough to pick up consoles at 20% off, so I'd figure that they picked up anything else of value when it was cheaper.

The Mid Rivers CC is the newest in the area, so that's one thing in it's favor, though I still can't see Ultimate trying to do that. Though, with clearances, nothing surprises me.

Other Missouri store's

I just hit the St Peter's store one last time tonight in MO. there were no games basically. There are TONS of guitar hero guitars though, I think the 360 Les Paul was a little over 20 bucks. no rockband guitars either. TONS of XBOX LIVE cameras and thats about it.

I am going to take one last look at Brentwood tomorrow. they had a mountain of guitar hero world tour complete sets last week, I think they were still $132 bucks but might be less now.

Chesterfield Valley had a few games but nothing worthwhile. Two Worlds and such of that great caliber.

Don't even waste gas to the mills. I live a mile from there and It has been picked bone dry for over a month. I would be surprised if it was even open still

Yeah, she's a real cunty bitch, or a bitchy cunt...one or the other. Definitely got a serious ego problem, especially considering she's a B list nobody.

I've run into her a few times over here on Beverly Drive - at Mulberry Street Pizza and the original CPK, and Starbucks. Maybe it's because nobody over here gives a shit or gave her attention, but she's got a serious attitude problem. Same with Jessica Alba. Really awful way to ruin such physical, outer beauty, by being so ugly on the inside.

I've been here close to a year and haven't seen a single famous person. I guess it's all about being north of LAX.

I went to the CC on Arden Way in Sacramento, CA and unless you want GH:WT, GH:A, or GH3 there's not much there game-wise.

If you need an extra guitar or want the full set they have good deals. $130 for full band kit and $60 for Guitar + Game kit.

LOL, oh yeah, that's for sure. Though LAX has plenty of them coming through every day.

But definitely, up here it's serious $$$$$, so there's always some around. My house is 5 minutes walking (5 blocks) from Rodeo and Wilshire, right off Beverly Drive, and in that walk, day or night, you will always see at least 2 super exotics (Lambos, Ferraris, Aston Martins, Bugattis, Mercedes McClarens etc.), at least 4 or 5 Bentleys or Rolls Royces, and 100K+ Mercedes BMWs and the rest are a dime a dozen. And that's before you set foot and walk up Rodeo. Just crazy money...although a LOT more than you would expect is all show.

Anyway, back to the topic. I might just go back to the Culver City store for shits n giggles on Thursday, though I expect there to be nothing left.

I'd like to thank the person who recommended the Santa Monica store, I was able to get a PS3 version of Prince of Persia. I was really hoping for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe but I've gone to about five Circuit City stores and none of them have it, ah well.

As for the whole SuperJedi thing, is it really that serious? If you don't believe him, don't believe him. He doesn't need to post pictures about what he claims he has because I highly doubt he has anything that he needs to prove to you.

Did you check the Culver City store? Because as of last Friday, they definitely had 2 Mortal Kombat versus DCU collector's editions for the PS3 behind the front counter, and I'm guessing they ring up for no more than $30.

For real? That's the one next to the Staples, right? I'm pretty sure I went to that one on Saturday and I asked the girl when I was getting rung up if they had it behind the counter and she said the only games up here are ones that have been brought in by someone off the floor, which didn't really make any sense to me. Shit, maybe I'll go back and try again tomorrow.

Has anyone had any luck getting someone in CC to manually override prices or are they set in stone in the computer system?

One CC has a camera I wouldn't mind but it rings up at retail price. I had to have someone do a price check since it is unlabelled. He didn't seem to want to bother with even helping me and I didn't have time to debate some manager.

If it is as advertised in the store, it should be 50% off. Are they allowed to override the scanned price or no?

You REALLY haven't been paying attention to this thread AT ALL or haven't participated in any of these liquidation/store closing sales before, HAVE you?

I ask because it's been said TIME and TIME again that EVERYTHING in the stores(save for SOME clearance stuff which wasn't marked back up to whatever it's full MSRP was)has been marked back up to FULL RETAIL and that the discount percentages are taken off of THAT amount.

As for the employee not wanting to help you, can you blame them since they're going to be out of jobs in 1-2 weeks, if not less.

Did you ask them to ring up the camera like you were going to buy it, since whatever the MSRP was, the camera would ring up as whatever % off cameras are currently once they hit total.

At least, I THINK that's how they're doing it, since I know some stores had to have employees MANUALLY enter the prices after %'s off at the CompUSA in Syracuse that went OOB about a year or two ago.

Pardon me if my explanation seemed a bit snippy, but I'm not in the best of moods right now. But that's the way these liquidation sales are done in a nutshell, like it or not.

As for my other close CC store, there was jack and shit left for games(10-12 copies of Soul Calibur IV for 360, maybe a half dozen guides and some of this and that else left). Junk....in other words....

I'm truly done with these 'sales'.....till the next one anyway. LOL

Hmm don't know if this was reported or not but I saw on SD. CC going to have final clearance drop this thursday (40% TVs, 60% Video Games, 70% car audio/etc...) and of course YMMV. But I doubt there'll be anything worthwhile left there by then. Only 2 CC left in my City are picked clean of the goodies and 2/3 of the store are blocked. People just can't realized they're being ripped off aren't they? I still see people so happy paying more for an floor model of HDTVs o.O and I saw that exact same TV for sale for a bit cheaper at BB or other places. Couldn't help but laugh by myself.

Final Clearance? NOT even going to 70-90%, at all?

See, now I believe more and more that guy who said in the last day they slash everything to 50 cents, if this is the case.

If you just jump from 40%-60% without going to 90% first, of course, there will still be a lot of stuff left on the last day. You are certainly not likely to Sell off everything at just 40-60%! Making the claim that they slash to 50 cents MORE believable!

This makes sense!!!

Personally, I got a few things at 80%+ off at Compusa, if I remember correctly.

I was NOT there on the last day to the end, though. To see what happened.

A few books, I got it for $1-2 dollars

Magazines, got it for 50 cents or such... some PC softwares, too... Just a couple bucks.

And, I think CompUSA is much greedier than Circuit City, personally.

North Austin looks like a Calcutta bizarre on a bad day. Don't even bother if you want games other than 50 Cent's Bulletproof for the original XBox or Guitar Hero 3. They had a couple of PC games, but nothing worth mentioning, mostly shovelware. In DVDs, they were pretty picked clean. They still had a boat load of TV's, but I won't even bother with those until the bitter end.

I think "Final Clearance" is just the term they're using to describe this whole liquidation. For example, the TV ads the last two weeks (for 40 and 50% off) have been calling it a "Final Clearance." Personally, I think they are going to up the percentage 10% every week until the end of March.

And I can virtually guarantee they will not slash everything left to 50 cents the final day. They might go to 95% off (like the CompUSA near me did) then put whatever doesn't sell at 95% off at auction.

The CompUSA in Madison Heights, MI (if I'm remembering it correctly) opened their doors the last day @ 70% off everything, and closed them @ 90% off... mind you there wasn't much left, I got a pack of Monster energy mints for something like .30. I think what BibPopov is saying is that a camera, Canon AS1100IS is $199.99 MSRP. It should ring up at $119.99 for 40% off, however it is not. It's ringing up what other stores would charge for it, aka MSRP. Maybe I don't understand what "full retail" price is, I thought it was MSRP.

I picked up Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the DS for $20 (vs. Amazon's $30) about two weeks ago at mine. Worth $30 for sure though. And to those who seem astounded that copies of overpriced games are disappearing in droves via purchase, chances are they're not-- just being moved to other locations to fill in inventory or even possibly returned to vendor.

I'm eyeing a PS3 Les Paul. Right now it'll cost me 26 with tax, as opposed to 40+tax at a normal store. at 50% it'll be like 21 and I'm willing to wait a day..they had at least 8 left.

And there's a freestanding Shakeys and a bank, either a WAMU or a Wells Fargo, in the same complex. There is a Staples near by, about a block away. It may have already been gutted. I will take one final look tomorrow for the price drops, but I doubt I will find anything.

And to the guy who hooked up Castlevania Order of Ecclesia, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!! Just another one I wish I could have swooped on. I barely saw any decent DS games during this clearance. To hear reports of Chrono Trigger, DQIV, and Castlevania OoE make it to 50% off is mindboggling.

So, what you are saying Liquidators are intentionally saying the markdown will be "FINAL" to lure customers into thinking that it's really the last %?
So, trying to fool dumb consumers into shop or never get the product, right?

Either way, if customers are smart (and I hope they are) 40-60% will not be the cleaned-the-store point.

Either way, I am going to wait until 80-90% for everything else, anyway. There maybe a couple stuff, like I said, I am going to try get once it's about to run out. But for the MOST part - 80-90% for me, or I don't care, it can go to the Next dumb customer getting fooled, for all I care!

Since I already got a lot of cheap stuff, not much else I really have to have, anymore!

I am going to keep an OPEN mind about the 50 cents thing. One thing I've learned this week, is that is entirely possible. There are tons of stuff I won't even care to get at 80-90% off, depend on the price. And those are the things, I would give a shot, if this 50 cents thing is True after all.

And there's a freestanding Shakeys and a bank, either a WAMU or a Wells Fargo, in the same complex. There is a Staples near by, about a block away. It may have already been gutted. I will take one final look tomorrow for the price drops, but I doubt I will find anything.

Actually, I changed my mind about going, it's only 10 bucks cheaper than what Target has right now so I'll probably be able to find it for $30 relatively soon and I really don't need any more new games right now.

And yeah, I went to the La Cienega store, saw the line just to get into the store, and said screw this and left. Santa Monica was a breeze, I wish I had gone there sooner.

Wow so many STL CAG's showing up here and about 10% of them show up in the STL Deals forum in the Midwest section. :)

I'll check Fenton again tonight (won't be there Thursday.) Last Thursday I got the Zune Home AV kit for $30 and TF 2 PC for $10. If you're wanting PS3 games, especially Fallout 3 or Resistance 2, you should still see plenty of copies there for $30 after discount.

If I were the employees at corporate, after being laid off, I would just buy all this stuff myself at 90% off and sell it on eBay (I'm talking about the nice man at corporate who just eyeballs the price of stuff and it always ends up being 90% off), not pretty much give it away to a stranger who wanders into the office.

Did CC Corp. have security? I would assume that with all that stuff there to sell and being that everyone was being let go, security would have been a given. Seems like a real breach of security to just allow random people in and have random people running out with armfuls of stuff.

First There ain't nobody going to steal! Most people going up there, AFAIK, are Mature Adults. Not many kids who would steal type... Thank Goodness! Plus not many people to begin with, so the security was very light.

Second, I don't know if CC employees are allowed to purchase, or not. Seems like they can, but I am not sure.

I am definitely sure they have security cameras to capture everything. So If you steal. You will goto Jail just matter of time you are caught! So, DON'T even try to think about it.

Went into a cc yesterday. it had practically nothing around the store. So I went up to the cs desk where all the Windows/Office stuff are located and started browsing through the price to see if there are anything decent left. About 15-30sec of looking, a security guard confronted me:

SG: Sir, You cannot pass that line (invisible line mind you) over there.
Me: But I am browsing through the item you have on for sale.
SG: I don't care, you cannot be at this part of store.
Me: ?????? whatever, then I proceed to leave the store.
Me(mutter to myself): Retarded crap!

So let me explain where I was in the store. Most CS desk are L shaped. Where one part usually leads to the back/storeage room/pick up place. I was standing right there, looking at the merchandise that were located on the wall behind the CS desk. No signs that said do not go beyond this point, and no lines either. You're right CheapestGamer, you're a bit snippy.

You should also read my post before popping off, the camera is ringing up at full retail.

Well, why didn't you ask if there was a discount on it? You never know until you ASK. Even though the chain is on their way out in the US, that's what the employees are there for still.

You ASK why it's not discounted.

Although, I would venture a guess to say that one of the employees wants it and that they're going to keep it undiscounted until the final days when they can get it for a pittance.

FYI, I'm definitely heading over to the St. Peters store tomorrow morning. I'll try to get a sense of what games are left and make a report to the thread. :)

As for myself I'll be looking for Midnight Club L.A. Remix and Star Ocean: First Departure, both of which had one copy remaining last time I went, and will hopefully have hit $16 tomorrow. I'm still kind of up in the air on both of them so I'll just decide tomorrow whether to pass again or bite(assuming they're still there). If there are any copies of Patapon left (there were still 2 or 3 last week) and it's $8 I'll probably pick up another copy just for the heck of it, maybe give it to my brother or something.

That store is also getting new merchandise from other stores (at least I think so, I say it because last week I saw a copy of Guilty Gear Judgment on the shelf, a game I had specifically looked for multiple times since the beginning of the clearance and not seen), so hopefully there'll be some fresh stuff.

Is this a joke. Apparently you guys run into beyonce and jessica alba all the time. WTF?

Besides growing up from behind the camera and seeing plenty of the industry's and celebs' true colors (my old man was a very successful special effects man, propmaster, pretty much a jack of all trades), living in LA and in particular, the most desirable and higher end/affluent enclaves and areas, you will see celebs almost all the time.

They need to get out and go to restaurants and do their shopping too - even the ones with personal shoppers and a whole slew of personal assistants/entourages. Since I live so close to the Beverly Drive shops and eateries, I'm often walking up and down there. And it's very popular with the local celebs and even non-local celebs, because of the boutiques located on it. There are tons of pockets like that on the westside and in other higher end enclaves. You're more likely to spot a celeb actually, on Beverly Drive, Canon, or the Robertson boutiques, for example, than you are to find them on Rodeo or Melrose, which are more for the tourists and out of towners with money.

It's really not so much LA, but the better parts of LA where you are very likely to see them. They live throughout the Southland, from a few in places like Mount Washington, San Marino and parts of Pasadena and Arcadia, to far more in the hills starting from Los Feliz and the prime old money enclave of Hancock Park, through the Hollywood Hills, into heavy concentrations in West Hollywood/Sunset Strip on through to the coast (Holmby Hills, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Venice, Santa Monica, and Malibu up the coast). Also the south of the boulevard in the valley, on the opposite side the Hollywood Hills, from Studio City through Sherman Oaks and Encino, and way further west into Calabasas, Thousand Oaks, Hidden Hills and Lake Sherwood.

Anyway, back on topic. Not unexpected at Culver City. I will give it one last look tomorrow or Friday, depending upon the price drop.

STL CAG report! I just got back from the Brentwood CC and it still has a massive pile of GHWT for every system but Wii. they are $114 and hopefully dropping to 95 tomorrow, if that happens I am going to finally bite on the 360 version. sell the game and extra guitar and keep the drums and microphone.

Games were basically gone, one copy of sould caliber 4 for 360 and a few Dark Sectors for PS3 lol. PGR4 is selling for 39.99 with 50% off, I saw normal price at EB games of 19.99 so thats nothing special. If anyone doesn't have or want a copy of Dark Knight or Hancock there are at least a hundred of them sitting there.

They had a RB2 guiutar and a couple drum sets and one whole complete set but the guitar was still 41.99 after the discount and I just didnt think it was worth it yet.

Interesting. I overheard a cashier tell a customer at the CC I went to yesterday (Bainbridge, OH) that the store was closing on March 15.

If it's anything like the first round of store closings, there will be signage at the front door counting down the number of days they're open, starting at 7. Hopefully unlike the first round of store closings, the people in charge will have the right number of days displayed outside the store. I was a smidge bummed when I went to a closed CC store 4 days after I saw "7 days left!" outside the same location.

karkyco
02-25-2009, 06:58 PM
There's no doubt that store closings will be at the discretion of the individual liquidator heads at each store, so there will be no set order or date per store, at least not to the general public.

Best bet would be to ask at each store, however that might not get you anywhere.

Did they still have the 360 Arcade and Pro systems next to the PS2 systems behind the counter? I passed on them last Thursday, but am now thinking of picking one up...

[Edit] To answer my own question, the 360s are all gone. Just checked.

There were LOTS of PC games left although I am not sure what you are looking for.. Tons of Age of Conan and Warhammer Online. I really didnt see much that interested me. they still had a 29 dollar price tag lol you can get it on steam for 10 bucks i think. It seemed it was a lot of casual games like slots and video poker games everywhere.

If the GHWT bundles go to 50% tomorrow I will hopefully be bringing one home tomorrow night.

Hit the Somerville, MA store. It's pretty messy, but there's still lots of copies of Halo 3 and a bunch of various rock band/guitar hero crap. I grabbed a few pennied game guides (none left) but I'm waiting for 60-70% to see what's left.

Should have also mentioned that the CC in st. Peters, MO had a fresh shipment of x360's.... pro and elite. $209 and $279 respectively. Prolly 20 of the pro and 10 elites. That was as of 1pm today.

I just picked up a backup 360 arcade in Woodbury, MN. They have a dozen or so left. The only other systems they have in stock are PSPs and a lot of them. Seems they can't give them away. The selection of games at this store sucks unless you are buying games for a PSP. They have dozens of PSP and DS Lite starter kits but otherwise are pretty empty.

The CC located in midtown Manhattan, NYC is dropping there price tomorrow to 60%. But right now they have only a hand full of 360 games all being some NFL games. It is pretty much picked cleaned. But on another note they still have alot of GHWT sets. I do know I will be hitting it tomorrow for some deals on the keyboards and mouses.

They did have a couple Conan HW and Warhammer PC MMORPGs left which one is better out of the two? I was thinking about going with Warhammer but not to sure. Has anyone played either one?

Besides growing up from behind the camera and seeing plenty of the industry's and celebs' true colors (my old man was a very successful special effects man, propmaster, pretty much a jack of all trades), living in LA and in particular, the most desirable and higher end/affluent enclaves and areas, you will see celebs almost all the time.

Sorry if I sound like an employee Im not and I kind of sounded like a hardass but it has to suck for them.

Nah, I think all of us understand. In the madness and insanity of this liquidation, it's easy for people to forget that these employees will soon be out of a job, and in some ways it's even worse for them because they know about it well in advance. What motivation could the average individual muster under these circumstances, being expected to function in your job capacity as normal while knowing that your inevitable termination is imminent...and again even worse, looking around at the overall economic environment that awaits them and millions upon millions of other unemployed and underemployed?

And of course, the soon to be ex Circuit City employees are by no means the only ones. This dire economy is crushing a hell of a lot of people.

Well the Fenton, MO CC is pretty much dried up, unless you want Guitar Hero guitars, there's tons of those. All games are pretty much gone, a few copies of SC IV left is the highlight. Almost all PC games were gone also, I think I saw 1 copy of Bioshock and 1 copy of HL Ep. 1/2.

Only about 10 Blu-Rays left, highlight is 3 copies of We Own The Night for $15. A few TV's left, most are floor models although there are a couple of boxed ones on the floor. Cameras are pretty much all gone, a few display models left.

The back of the store (which used to be the PC/Home Audio section) is already closed and roped off. All MP3 players and consoles are also gone.

I was lucky and found a factory sealed Singstar PS3 game w/mics in the PC Games section. It was $36 plus tax so I took it. The cashier recognized me from all the sale ads I came in for and made chit chat and wished her luck. Probably my last trip in there, as I don't play RB/GH enough (my friend has it on a permanent borrow) to worry about buying wireless guitars.

Buy Warhammer, Conan is a good as dead and could be had for $10 at Target a few months ago. While Warhammer hasn't enjoyed the same success as WoW, at least they are trying by adding expansions starting this month and going into next month. The additional content (looks kind of egyptian themed ... the "something" kings) looks kind of cool and if you can buy Warhammer plus the points cards you should be good to go by the time the new free content is released.

Had. He passed away in '05. Yes it was awesome, and awesome growing up in that environment. I did work for him a lot as I came of age, and ran the company after college when he semi-retired. Sold it after he died, since everything was moving to CGI. But yeah, magical times growing up in the industry, and in LA in the 80's in general.

Back to topic: I still can't believe PSPs are just collecting dust in some parts. Not to mention Elites and Pros are still just showing up. Damn. Although I'd prefer to get the systems 50% off. That and I wish the DVD's and BluRays would drop to at least 75% off, because as many have said, even at 50% off that basically matches amazon prices, and that's before tax. Hell, I'd love to clear out some DVD and Blu Ray stock, if it was no more than $5 per.

Not really. Especially not anything at $15 or $17.50 a piece, ugh.

Ahh but I did come to the realization of exactly what pushed Circuit City over the brink into full blown liquidation bankruptcy...they WAAAAAAAY over-ordered Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith products, along with other older Guitar Hero crap. Half their game inventory must have been made up of Guitar Hero products before the liquidation began. Now it's closer to 90%. LOL.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the helpful (considering the circumstances) attitude of some of the CC employees during this liquidation: gladly scanning stacks of games for prices and giving info about which store has what inventory and when they expect the next drop.

It stands in marked contrast to the CompUSA liquidation, where the liquidator seemed to bring in their own people, most of whom were total ahats - despite the fact that they either signed on knowing it was a temporary job, or knew they would continue to have a job after the last day when they were assigned to another liquidation.

Hopefully some east coast cags can post what the % off on social game items is now. I'm waiting for <$100 rock band 2.

On another note, I picked up Microsoft Equipt yesterday at 50% off which was $50ish. For those that don't know it is antivirus and office software all in one. Now here is the best part of this deal. Microsoft is discontinuing this in April of this year. They are prorating a refund based on what is left on your subscription and in addition to a refund they are sending a 3 user 2007 Office home and student. So, pay 40-50 bucks. Install and activate MS Equipt. Then go and apply for the refund and Microsoft will be paying you 20+ bucks to take a 3 user office home and student off your hands. I di this yesterday. This was on sl. deals for those seeking more info. The link to refund page and info is HERE. (http://www.microsoft.com/equipt/)

I'm going to hit up the Sahara building today, probably just for kicks and giggles. ...although, if I could find a complete Guitar Hero World Tour band kit that was 60% off, I'd bite. $76 plus tax? That's definitely doable.

I agree. For the most part, CC employees have been excellent. But then again, CC employees generally always were. Say what you want, and I know there are lots of numbskulls that worked there as well, but they knew how to treat customers. I was a management candidate for them back in 2006 when they started their first rounds of "business decision" cuts. Apparently I made too much money, so they hired someone at 6.50 an hour who couldnt do my job but LOOKED like they could. Good luck to all the good CC people, but i know that if they were good at their job, and more importantly, good with people, they will have no trouble at all finding work elsewhere.

I would think the same thing, but IIRC the MP3's haven't moved from 30%, but that could be them just not changing signs. They never changed the signs for 20% off consoles they rang up at 30% off when I bought my PS2.

The St. Peters, MO Circuit City is basically cleaned out... I couldn't believe the change since last week. The only notable game I saw was Soul Calibur IV, they had several copies for 360 and at least one for PS3. Oh, and stacks upon stacks of every flavor of Guitar Hero. Even the UMD movies were picked clean! I almost bit on Art of Fighting Anthology for PS2 since it was $4, but common sense prevailed and I left empty-handed.

SoCal TV ad says 60% off games, movies, etc.

For those in LA, Santa Monica store last night had lots of games and movies, tho no games I didn't already have or was interested in; however, did have at least one Fallout 3 and Saints Row 2, I think, and some Prince of Persia, maybe a few Mercs 2, etc. Those were the standout titles, anyway, if I remember correctly.

I might stop by La Cienega again as they had one or two games I might pickup at 60% off, but I'd be surprised if they aren't already closed judging by their sparse inventory Tuesday afternoon.

I'll be reporting on Hawthorne again assuming someone else doesn't go there before me and post.

Would others CONFIRM this actually works?

Not that I don't believe you, just that if stuff is purchased from a Bankrupt company, does it STILL work?

Still have lots of movies. Snagged seasons 2 and 4 of Stargate Atlantis for $18 each.

I am VERY surprised at that there is a CE left still!

NOT to mention Fallout 3 CE, which is one of TEH BEST!!!

60% off games at my store.

I got lucky as fuck. They had a copy of Fallout 3 for PS3 sitting there behind a bunch of copies of Condemned 2.

$24+tax out the door.

Viva Pinata 2 (360) 1 left
Banjo Kazooie (360) 1 left front counter
Resistance 2 (ps3) 1 left

Only some okay deals on tv's at 40% off. Just slightly better than a few places online. My store has a closing in 10 days sign. I will check back next week and see what is left. There wasn't anything good anyways in terms of games, except Far Cry 2 for the Xbox360. Hopefully I can snag a tv at a greater discount next week. There were a bunch left of almost every brand.

call of duty world at war for 19.99

Speaking of shelves, has anyone seen the signs that say the shelves are for sale for $200 a piece LOL!

That's about it, the tvs and cameras i've seen that are left still have the 10% tag. APC 330watt ups for 24.99 It's gotta be atleast 700 watt for me to pick up one.

Southlake TX got cleaned the eff out in the last week, but they amazingly had some XBox Arcades for $120 at 11 am today. The massive stock of Xbox games from last week was nearly wiped out except for mainly GH Aerosmith, and I grabbed the last Rockstar Table Tennis for $8.

There were 20 or so Harmony ONE remote's for $150 last week. Guess that was everyone's magic number because they were gone too. Probably because some jerk posted about them on slickdeals or wherever I saw it.

Store still had some 550/510 remotes, a bunch of TV and computer stuff, a bunch of PC games, some PS2 and PSP games and other guides.

Picked up Warhammer Online for $20 and Warhammer online 60day card for $12. I hope there is no issues with the time cards as I heard some people had issues with the XBL, Wii point cards not being accepted.

I was about to pick up a Microsoft Sidewinder 5 button Mouse for $40 and a Saitek Cyborg keyboard for $50 but I am not sure if its worth getting them both for that price.

What do you CAGers think? Is it worth the price?

I honestly think someone either pulled this one out from the back of the store, or was hiding it the whole time, because as of last week, I couldn't find a single copy of Fallout 3 for 50% off (but did find 10 copies of Resistance 2). This week I go in, and see no Resistance 2, but this lone copy of FO3.

80th & Broadway NYC is pretty much done... Last day is March 8th

Remaining Games 60% off and 50% accessories
They still have Rock Band 2 track Pack for PS3 and PS2, Guitar Hero World Tour for PS3, Lego Indy, NFL Tour for 360, and Need for Speed for 360.

Only DS left is All Cheer(leader), Teenage Zombies, Ubisoft Fitness with step counter, and Napoleon Dynamite.

At the register 2nd floor they have 3 month and 1 month Xbox Live membership for 50% off right next to the stacks of wireless guitars with Aerosmith.

All Blu Rays are gone unless you need Nim's Island, The Ruins, 16 Blocks or Beer League.

The tvs on DVD section still has a good mix at 60% off. Mostly FX stuff, Rescue Me, The Shield, Nip Tuck, some Stargate and Atlantis and most seasons King of Queens and Smallville.

There's a good mix of regular dvds still mostly Prince Caspian, Dark Knight, Hancock, Horton, X Files 2

Solve Guides are 70% off: Dead Space, MSG4, Wario Shake It, Mass Effect, Lego Indy, Force Unleased.

If anyone can find a Deep Space for 360 please let me know.

WHAT KIND of people... ???

I guess people ARE like sheeps...

If one doesn't get it, Nobody else does either

Or they just don't want it?

That, and the real-life value of any game is essentially nothing. Just numbers burned into a disk, and in this case a couple of chotchkies.

I think Fallout 3 is great, I bought it day one, and this same edition.

The more logical way to look at the situation is that "Oh there are twenty left, I might as well be semi-intelligent and resist the hoggish urge to jump on this (and get mine now!) while I can and wait it out and get it for less, I've got nothing to lose, except this essentially (real-life value) worthless tin and cotchkies."

Those who jump first on a discount have the lowest threshold for chance, similar to the animal Jedi mentions.

The only reason I'm in this is that this whole idea of finding the cheapest price is a game in itself to me, and not some sort of permanence seeking.

Picked up Warhammer Online for $20 and Warhammer online 60day card for $12. I hope there is no issues with the time cards as I heard some people had issues with the XBL, Wii point cards not being accepted.

The biggest thing to do with the XBL point cards is to check the expiration dates. My CC still had a number of XBL vision bundles and such just before CC started its clearance, and they were easily gone within a week or so. The catch, though, was that the subscription cards all expired sometime in either '07 or '08.

Some of those games might've been hidden for a couple weeks. Some of us had our stashes busted when stuff started moving around and fixtures got sold.

Also, some of the stuff might've come from a backwater CC where people just buy crap. I don't think Terre Haute or Columbus, IN were hotbeds for gaming because we got a crapload of 360s from them after we had completely sold out. That and those areas are getting severely hit by this economic downturn. I'm not sure why there was a CC in Columbus but I'm pretty sure it contributed to the company going out of business.

Last I saw, when the prices were 50% off games. The Car stereos were 50%, the MP3 players were 30% (except for ipod which was 10%), and the sounds cards were 50% (PC Accessories).

I would think the same thing, but IIRC the MP3's haven't moved from 30%, but that could be them just not changing signs. They never changed the signs for 20% off consoles they rang up at 30% off when I bought my PS2.

Good Luck. All the stores in my area (5) have been virtually stripped clean, including the one that would get regular shipments from the distrubution center.

Thanks, EvilIA! I've got one that has a bunch of MP3 players in a glass class at foot-level, so I think I'm good on that front. Might get a Samsung P2 =D

Yeah, Terre Haute hasn't had crap throughout this whole thing. They also had soooo many xbox systems to begin with it doesn't suprise me that they shipped them out to some place that would sell. The ftards around here are ridiculous anyway, even if it was free they would want a discount on it... But then they are sucker enough to buy tvs at 20% off of retail price, when the week before the liquidation started they were in their add for much, much less.

Sorry, just a little rant, I went in the store today to see if they dropped their games down but they were still 50% and I got a kick out of listening to a few of the people that were in there talking.

They did have a few games left, mostly soul caliber, and quite a few blurays, but nothing to jump on. Tons of fixtures though, some would make decent entertainment stands and what not, if you were a little handy.

Some DVD movies/TV sets left. Blu Ray pretty much wiped clean.

LOTS of GH bundles still (Wii: GH3, WT Guitar kit - PS3: Aerosmith, GH3 - 360: Band Kit, Guitar Kit)

The good PS3 games are gone...pretty much NFL Head Coach, All Pro Football, GHWT.
360 has more choices - PoP, SCIV, Halo 3, GHWT, GH Aero
Don't recall many Wii games being left.

PC games aplenty - must've been about 30 Fallout 3 CE's, 20 Orange Boxes, a few L4D, they had about 1.5-2 full cases of PC games.

Didn't look for much else, but I may be able to help if you want to know something more specific.

LOL I may have seen you. I saw a group of 2-3 guys buying a bunch of games. 1 of which was buying a Fallout 3 CE.
Yup, that was us. People in line must have been wondering wtf we were doing.

It was my idea to drop by the store, but my coworkers ended up spending much more than me. I feel kind of evil... in a good way though if you know what I mean. ;)

Some DVD movies/TV sets left. Blu Ray pretty much wiped clean.

Some of GH bundles still

The good PS3 games are gone...pretty much NFL Head Coach, All Pro Football, GHWT.
360 has more choices - PoP, SCIV, Halo 3, GHWT, GH Aero
Don't recall many Wii games being left.

*** Just made a few adjustments to your post to reflect the status of the Fashion Island CC.
Plenty of Sims 2 Deluxe, Warhammer, and Conan for PC.
Nothing for DS or PSP, mainly accessories.

Nice haul, but for what it's worth you did steal that game. :shame: Even though it is unintentional, it does not belong to you. I've had plenty of instances when cashiers forgot to scan something, but after reviewing my receipt I would go back and get the items adjusted.

LOL. When I was cashier someone did come back and tell me they forgot to pay for something. I fucking laughed so hard in my head. I gave them a little discount for being honest but I wouldn't have done what they did.

Either of you see any 360's left behind the counter?

I can't say I'm 100% sure, but I could've sworn I saw a 360 box (from behind) sitting on the (Firedog?) counter between Cust. Service and the checkouts...only thing is if it was a 360, it may have been a box for a refurb. Sorry.

Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP (non greatest hits version), brand new: $8.00 :)

I passed up Crisis Core last week...now I kick myself as it wasn't there anymore. Oh well... :error:

I was wondering: Since console games are so cheap I decided to pick up PoP for 360 in hopes I can flip it for a PS3 version (or something else) elsewhere. Would Wal-Mart let me exchange the 360 version for PS3?

Just got back from a my errands, including visiting the Circuit City in Culver City for the final time. No consoles whatsoever, only thing up front behind the customer service counter were various PS2 3 packs, like the GTA three pack but nothing good like the Devil May Cry trilogy.

There were still TONS of guitar related items, I will try to outline everything that was there; it was a bit more organized this time.

Right next to the line for customer service checkout were Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar + Game bundles for Wii, X360, tons of Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles. Half off, no idea what the prices were.

In between the main game aisle were 4 or 5 Rockband 2 full bundles (guitar, drums, mic, game) for PS3, a couple for X360, some Rockband 1 full bundles, lots of "guitar only" bundles, a couple of wireless drum bundles, and a couple of "guitar only" Rockband 2 guitars for PS2/3. I priced one of these and it was $35, more than I was willing to pay. There were also some deluxe guitars for $100 or so.

Gamewise, like the other guy said it was shit. Nothing behind the counter anymore, and the glass case has been emptied and filled with guides at 60% off, still nothing compelling. Only games of note were X360 games, mainly 1 copy of Fable (regular), a couple of Command and Conquer 3's and Kane's Wrath for 360.

About a hundred blu rays left, totally picked clean of anything remotely good. Tons of DVDs left, but nothing eyecatching.

On another note, I went to the Costco in Venice, they had a bunch of copies of Blue Dragon DS for $26 (didn't bite), and a couple of copies of Lost in Blue 3 for $16. They also had "Metallic Rose" DS bundles, I'm not sure if that's the supposedly "rare" color, or if it's only the Nintendogs bundled one with the paw print. Anyway, those are $139.

Thanks. I guess my only question to myself is it worth it to try and get a copy of PoP for 24? I'm thinking not, as by the time I play it, I could likely get it for under 20 anyway.

No, I think you're right wolve. When I went last week, there was clearly 2 different boxes. 1 was for the holiday Pro bundle. The other was an older looking box with a Pro, but there was a giant tag that had "REFURBISHED" written on it.

depascal22 - CC may have not sold refurbs before liquidation, but they aren't CC anymore. Liquidators have their own inventory of things too, so they just bring it into a store in hopes people will scoop them up. Perfect way for them to pawn off their old refurbished 360s.

What old refurbs? Those were the old 360s from the break rooms, people. They put a refurb sticker on it so people wouldn't know that it was used and abused for the last couple years. Have you guys ever seen a B & M store sell refurbs? Like I said, you got gamed.

I don't know of any specific stores selling refurbed X360s, but Fry's sell refurbed products all the time. Anyways, we would only been gamed if we bought the consoles. Maybe what you're saying is true, but I'd still never buy a refurbed console in the first place.

Hit up Oxford Valley and Warrington today. At Warrington, good amount of SC4 and Beast Rider for 360. No Wii and very slim on PS3. Oxford has a ton of Guitar Hero guitars, guitar and game. Snagged GH:WT guitar and a second for $70, a external hard drive for $83 and 2 shopping bags. The re-usable ones are 2 for 5. Both locations had plenty of GH:Aerosmith for 360. Tagged at $40, so might be about 17-18

Fry's might sell refurbs but Circuit City, Target, KMart, WalMart and Best Buy never do.

I didn't say you were gamed because you bought a refurb but I said you got gamed because you believed a cashier about it.

^Either way, the point is that the 360 I did see didn't look like it was a new one.

I doubt any normal person would want to pay ~$200 on a 360 unit that is old and used/refurbished when the newer ones are considerably "better".

You underestimate the stupidity of the average Joe. Look at all the TVs. Every single one of them was cheaper either at other stores or earlier in the year. The more we told them about that, the more they thought we were gaming them.

I read an article that people were buying TVs and finding them smashed in the box and they were refused replacements.

Yea, which is totally fucked up. They tell you you cannot open an item, but at the same time it's all sales final. Something isn't right about that. Would I want to risk $1k+ on a potentially broken TV? NO THANKS!

I totally get it. People fall too in love with the sound of 30%-50% TVs that they don't bother doing the homework in "shopping". I was at another CC this past weekend and this couple was in front of me buying a floor model Sony LCD for $1300. This dude standing behind me says to them that he bought the exact same TV brand new from BB for under $1000 after rebate. What did the couple do? They bought the TV.

With the 360, I think they only way the "refurb" gets sold is if some poor, naive parent thinks this is a good deal to buy for their kid.
