LOL. When I was cashier someone did come back and tell me they forgot to pay for something. I fucking laughed so hard in my head. I gave them a little discount for being honest but I wouldn't have done what they did.

The highest amount that I've gone back to get adjusted was ~$65 and the lowest was ~.55 (Sour Skittles). Though it feels good to get something for free, it isn't the same if it wasn't supposed to happen. Just my two cents.

Hopefully the GHWT Bundles for 360 will last for another price drop. It would be nice to get an extra guitar, drum set, and mic.

I know. It's not the honest thing to do, but I just want to exchanging formats.

You should be able to do that, unless you return things at walmart a lot and they are suspicious of you.

You could look at it as they aren't really losing money, just swapping out inventory. If it helps you sleep at night, anyway.

Yea, which is totally fucked up. They tell you you cannot open an item, but at the same time it's all sales final. Something isn't right about that. Would I want to risk $1k+ on a potentially broken TV? NO THANKS!

There is a loophole if you want to go through the effort. If you open the box after you buy it and go plug it in, you can return it if it doesn't fire up. This doesn't always work but it's better than nothing.

Word of warning. Don't buy anything else that's on display especially if it's not hooked up. By this time, people have effed it up so much, it's pretty much garbage. Most of the DVD players at my store don't even open but they're still on the floor. Managers have basically said sell everything no matter what. I tell customers but, again some people think they're getting gamed when I tell them not to buy something.

How much is Fallout 3 CE supposed to be after 60% off, as well as Spore Galactic edition?

I couldn't calculate because I remember only the console CE's were marked down from 59.99 while the PC CE's were marked down from regular MSRP prices. Thanks!

Just got back from a my errands, including visiting the Circuit City in Culver City for the final time. No consoles whatsoever, only thing up front behind the customer service counter were various PS2 3 packs, like the GTA three pack but nothing good like the Devil May Cry trilogy.

There were still TONS of guitar related items, I will try to outline everything that was there; it was a bit more organized this time.

Right next to the line for customer service checkout were Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar + Game bundles for Wii, X360, tons of Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles. Half off, no idea what the prices were.

In between the main game aisle were 4 or 5 Rockband 2 full bundles (guitar, drums, mic, game) for PS3, a couple for X360, some Rockband 1 full bundles, lots of "guitar only" bundles, a couple of wireless drum bundles, and a couple of "guitar only" Rockband 2 guitars for PS2/3. I priced one of these and it was $35, more than I was willing to pay. There were also some deluxe guitars for $100 or so.

Gamewise, like the other guy said it was shit. Nothing behind the counter anymore, and the glass case has been emptied and filled with guides at 60% off, still nothing compelling. Only games of note were X360 games, mainly 1 copy of Fable (regular), a couple of Command and Conquer 3's and Kane's Wrath for 360.

About a hundred blu rays left, totally picked clean of anything remotely good. Tons of DVDs left, but nothing eyecatching.

On another note, I went to the Costco in Venice, they had a bunch of copies of Blue Dragon DS for $26 (didn't bite), and a couple of copies of Lost in Blue 3 for $16. They also had "Metallic Rose" DS bundles, I'm not sure if that's the supposedly "rare" color, or if it's only the Nintendogs bundled one with the paw print. Anyway, those are $139.

Thanks very much to you and the other LA area CAG's . It looks like it's time to bid farewell to CC....i wound up with Cod: WAW and Fable 2, at 50 and 60% off respectively, so....not bad.

BTW most stores are closing March 8th. As an employee I was just informed of this today.

I can confirm the March 8th closing date, since I asked an employee earlier when I was at my closest store again and saw they had 'last 10 days' signs up.

I'm hoping that over these 10 days, NO ONE buys shit and they have to blow out the stuff on the last day for a buck a pop.

I'll take some random CD's and DVD's for that low of a price, but not before.

Unfortunately, the ONLY thing I really wanted in the store(powerline adapter kit) went POOF between Monday and today.

Oh well....shit was overpriced anyway.

MSRP on Fallout CE is $70, so it's $28 after 60% off. Spore Galactic ed. seems to be $80 MSRP (someone correct me if I'm wrong), so CC should charge $32 (fyi Newegg has it for $37). My coworker actually bought the Creepy Creepy & Cute Parts Pack and Creature Creator today, and the Galactic ed. last week for 50% off. LOL, he didn't do his homework.

[EDIT]

I get back from my business trip Saturday night, so will not have a chance to check my local Circuit City for any xbox 360's before then. $120 does sound good to pick up a xbox 360 arcade as a gift, but I do have a question. If these are refurbished (I would guess the liquidators obtained them from god knows where) will the 1 year warranty/3 year RROD still be valid. Will I be able to buy the three year extended warranty from microsoft (like I did my other 360?)

Probably won't matter because there won't be any 360's left, but good to know on the off chance there is.

Accessories are 50% off.

I picked up a PSP today for $101 as well as the MS Equipt for $28. I installed it and submitted the refund request and got a confirmation back stating I will get the retail $69 + tax back and a CD for Home and Student Office 2007 (supposed to be 3 user).

If anyone else sees the MS Equipt software, it is worth a shot. If you don't opt for the prorated subscription refund, you are supposed to be able to get a full refund, so it seems to be a no lose purchase.

Thanks karkyco. Glad I picked up a bunch of games/movies when they still had a good selection at 50% off.

Just visited the Norwalk store as I happened to be near, and they had no decent titles to speak of (zero PS3, three Wii and budget 360 titles).

That, and the real-life value of any game is essentially nothing. Just numbers burned into a disk, and in this case a couple of chotchkies.

I think Fallout 3 is great, I bought it day one, and this same edition.

The more logical way to look at the situation is that "Oh there are twenty left, I might as well be semi-intelligent and resist the hoggish urge to jump on this (and get mine now!) while I can and wait it out and get it for less, I've got nothing to lose, except this essentially (real-life value) worthless tin and cotchkies."

Those who jump first on a discount have the lowest threshold for chance, similar to the animal Jedi mentions.

The only reason I'm in this is that this whole idea of finding the cheapest price is a game in itself to me, and not some sort of permanence seeking.

Man, I hate these people grab these "EARLY discounts" they think they are getting a great deal. Then others, like sheeps, Follow suit, when there are more than 10-20 left still. It's STILL gone a week later!

God that's what really causes them to run out at some stores, but other stores, appearantly STILL have them. NOT probably because they have more quantity, or gameplaying habits that suck, but because people all agree that getting it at the "Early discount" is Foolish, together!

If One is Patient and wait, everybody Else is also like that.
If one is Impatient and doesn't wait, everybody else also like that

Just got off work at Circuit City and our manager was telling us all the southland locations will be 90% off starting TOMORROW, since we've already reached our clearance quotas as far as sales go.

We're closing up shop as soon as everything is sold, starting tomorrow. 90% off the remaining TVs Blu rays DVDs games everything. Santa Monica, Culver City, La Cienega, south bay, Burbank, Glendale, Covina, Pasadena EVERYWHERE

That would be nuts. Guess we'll find out tomorrow!

Brick NJ games were gone, maybe 20 games for all systems. Still a decent amount of DVDs, CDs and guitar hero guitars. NO WORLD TOUR OR ROCK BAND with teh entire band anymore. Was able to pick up Rogue galaxy strat guide, used 30 foot ethernet cable, used power stripe, 2x25 foot USB patch cables, 6ft S video cable and 4pack of AA batteries WITH ROCK BAND FREE SONG! for $27.

The cashier was "tired" and didn't really want to unroll the cables to charge me the 1-2$ a foot price so just estimated. If you need cables, might be worth while.

Clearwater, FL:

Sign on the door said "The last 10 days"

Inside, a LOT of TVs were left, even at 30% they aren't great deals. Games were GONE... a few things here and there, lots of Guitar Hero at 50%, but other games at 60% off.

A overpriced TV for $3000 dollars would be 300. A pretty damng good deal.

Scored the last Fallout 3 CE (360) at the Lake Forest, CA CC for $25.86. I saw a lot of guitars, Soul Calibur 4, and a few Fallout 3 CE (PC) there as well. All the 360 hard drives were gone.

Awesome find, I thought I grabbed the last Fallout CE at LF CC when it was 40% off. They even checked their inventory and it showed just one before my purchase. Looks like it must have been hidden within all those rows of PC CE's.

BTW, Fashion is also pretty barren as regards to games.

I know, I was there last week looking for Fable 2 and they didn't have it, and thought I spotted a regular edition of Fallout 3 behind the counter. I kind of went today in hopes that it would still be there and the guy told me they had one collector's edition left. No idea where they found it.

Thanks for the heads-up on Fashion Island. If that 90% so cal rumor turns out to be true tomorrow I might have to make my final trip and just nab whatever the hell I can for flipping.

Lost Season 3 Blu-ray, $40

YOU BOUGHT THE LOST SEASON 3 BLURAY AT THE DENTON STORE!?!?!?

Dammit. I knew I should have jumped on that! lmao.

For the guy asking about the CD Selection -- Still loooked fairly full, but don't expect to pick up anything new, those were gone LOOOONG ago

I was there earlier at around, um.....12ish. The headset I was eyeing was gone and I talked myself out of a PS3 Les Paul for now...with 12 or so left ....I can wait until htye go down a little more. I'm still kicking myself for picking up the 2nd to last copy of World Tour for PS3 thinking "this won't last long" only to see it there today.....laughing at me...

Just got back from the Brentwood and Chesterfield CCs here in St. Louis and the scene was pretty grim. Brentwood went from having a ton of console games last Thursday to nearly nothing today. Saw a couple Soul Calibur 4s for 360 but that was about all that stood out. There was still a fair selection of PC games. I got Stalker: Clear Sky for $16 and Sims 2: Deluxe for $2. The Sims 2 is not marked with a price and they had quite a few left if anyone is interested. Chesterfield's console selection was decimated as well. They did have some 360-Prince of Persia, PS3-Soul Calibur 4 and I BELIEVE PS3-Rock Band 1 locked up in the case. Their PC section wasn't as full as Brentwood's but they had 1 Clear Sky left. Anyway, only way I am going back is if everything is 90% off. Driving home empty handed from Chesterfield in torrential rain sucked too. :(

So you basically stole it?

I didn't even realize until I was looking at my receipt and typing up the post. I think the cashier scanned it while the "Verify Customer Age" screen was up. It's only stealing when you have the intent to steal. I didn't pull it off the shelf, put it in my pocket and walk out.

Went to the Carle Place (Westbury) store after work today. Looked pretty sad (the depressing kind) as the place was nearly empty. As for games, the only console games were GH III & GH Aerosmith. A few pc games, though the only two worth mentioning were the Diablo battlechest (2 or 3 copies) and Guild Wars Factions (2 or 3 copies as well).

There was also a '10 days left' sign, but no date, and I didn't bother to ask when it was put up. Assuming it was today, I might check it out next Sat.

Update for the Newport Beach, CA store in Fashion Island. 60% off games, DVDs, CDs.

PS3 games and Blu-ray movies pretty much picked clean. When I went last Friday, there were still so many PS3 games (Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Fallout 3, etc). But now, the only thing left that might be worth while is Soul Calibur 4.

Surprisingly, still lots of 360 games, though. An entire shelf still full, but I really didn't check the titles.

There are only about 8 Rock Band 2 bundles left, only for PS3. As for Guitar Hero World Tour bundles... lets just say there are piles and piles of them in every section of the store.

As for PC games, it seems like no one is touching them. There are about 20 Call of Duty 4 left in the PC section, still untouched at 60% off. If the store is still alive at 70% or 80% off, I'll definitely pick up a copy.

I was planning on being at Santa Monica tomorrow as close to opening as possible anyway, so hopefully the 90% is true, except for the possibility of hordes..

Do they open at 9 or 10?

My trip to Northridge, CA tonight was a shock, after being there last Thursday to a decently stocked store, it was pretty desolate today... I was amazed how much stuff they moved in a week. Bazillion Guitar Hero III/Aerosmith/WT although I didn't see any full band kits, only guitar. I wonder if they went earlier in the day, or during the last week. STILL not a ton of great deals. I did pick up a couple DVD sets (Seems like a lot of stuff was just priced at $10, no matter what the sticker said) but not much exciting.

From what I saw last night at the Okeechobee one its still got a good amount of Guitar Hero stuff.

What I am looking for is a new router (a good one) and I had seen 3 at one of the Ft. That mall is going to be a damned graveyard soon enough at this rate. Between CC and Fortunoff's going out there's not much left in there save for GameStop (fairly decent), Cheesecake Factory (one of the busiest ones in the nation), and maybe Dave & Busters. Shame, that.

You could try the one out in Hicksville but that one has been nearly cleared of anything decent since a good two weeks ago. Last Saturday the only things left were a swath of overpriced 360 games (mostly dreck, primarily sports titles and lots of copies of Soul Cal IV and Too Human) and sports games for the PS2. There was a sizable PC section but all of the good stuff was taken, save for numerous copies of the Diablo Battlechest ($20 after 50% before, should be $16 now?).

If I recall the one out by Smithhaven Mall has been shuttered for a while now as well, so pickings are particularly slim. Any other "nearby" locations or do you think it's best for us LI types to let the other people beat each other up for damaged merchandise? ;)

BTW, I dropped by the Torrance, CA store on the way home from work. Most console games are gone, only about 10 copies of one PS3 title in stock (can't remember the name but think it was a football game). In terms of X360, I saw about 10 copies of Prince of Persia, a bunch of GH: Aerosmith, handful of Tiger Woods 08 and 09, and 1 copy of Condemned 2 and Red Alert 3 each. Still some PC games left, but selection and quantity was crap compared to Hawthorne store.

Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer - $43
Futurama Season One - $12
500 sheets of printer paper - $5.??
Day of the Jackal DVD - $2.80

But this one I was kinda pissed about...

Tracy Ullman: Live and Exposed - $8.62

The barcode on the DVD didn't read, so the cashier arbitrarily said "I don't know what this is, so I'm gonna say $8." I argued, "Oh come on, the DVD is like six years old! Can't you go lower?" He returned with, "I gotta assume it was $20, and that makes it $8. Maybe someone else would say less." I asked what they would do with it if I didn't buy it, and he said they would put it back. Assuming that it in fact would never make it back to the shelves so as not to further inconvenience other CC employees, I just bought it. I was also totally unaware this made it on to DVD and it was the first time I'd seen it anywhere outside of TiVoing it years ago, so I couldn't pass it up and wasn't dick enough to try and get another cashier that night to ring it up at a lower price. Oh well!

How much was Prince of Persia btw? I noticed a ton of copies at the local CC and figured it was one of those games they brought in from other liquidations (others looked like some popular War game from 2007, Sims 2, Diablo 2, some charlie brown game, a star trek comic book collection?). I know the Sims is way less than the regular PC games, any folks know if that's the case with these other games they seem to have mass quantities of?

Out of the corner of my eye though, I noticed a new box in the camera lockup and it was an Eclipse Double Din car radio. Being as though, I was looking for one and I didnt try to get one this entire sale, I was on it like a hawk.

I'm sitting here happy with glee waiting in line so I check in the box to claim my prize.

WTF!!!!!

i notice a cut up harness and I start to get real suspicious.

Long story short a crappy JVC model was inside the box and I lose my mind.

I ended up going to 5 other cc's in central new jersey hoping somebody else had car radios left and no luck

I was curious and checked out the CC in Fresno to see if there was anything left of note. They were so cleared out on the floor that they had about half of the store sectioned off with 'Do Not Enter' signs with big plastic tubs stacked in the aisleways that were partitioned off.

They had three console games total: NCAA Football 09 & Operation Spy for the PS2 & 1 copy of Final Fantasy IV for the DS. Needless to say, I purchased FF IV for $16 plus tax. There was also a lot of PC games still remaining, including games like Warhammer Online, Prince of Persia & Stalker Clear Sky. I might make it back in the next few days to see what is remaining....

Not if it's a sports title from last year ... which seems to be all that's left at the CCs around the Bay Area ... can't even flip those, as they hold no value ...

I don't suppose if you noticed that they had a Xbox's laying around. I kind of want to pick up GHWT, if it's the full thing, but that's a little bit of a haul. But if they had some Xbox's, I may have to make the trip...

Sadly, no. I didn't notice 360s or any consoles for that matter. The only small boxes that I noticed in the games aisle were RB2 Stage Lights and RB2 Portable Drums.

And BTW, RB2 bundles and GHWT full bundles are 50% off, so $95+tax.

Any word on what % off (if over 60%) at the Plantation, FL and Pines stores are at? Or if they even have anything left. I doubt Plantation (Sawgrass) does.

Thats another store I hit up tonight. (Sawgrass)

All they had was crap.

Unless your in need of Halo 3, everything there was crap.

That store was the most drained one of all the ones I have been too.

I expected as much being next to Sawgrass with all the tourists and such.

My CC has been wiped pretty bare for a while. Went last night just to see if there were any good movies left. Wound up buying TMNT on blu-ray and Trailor Park of Terror + the two checkout signs hanging above the registers and a usb cable that was loose in their surprise bins all for $30.

Oh and they're going out of business in the next 10 days (didn't ask when the 10 days started; I'm thinking closed by next weekend--Wichita, KS). I'll probably go back to see if I can get an exit sign, the merchandise pickup sign, or some other random crap (like one of the black camera covers) just for the hell of it.

Still had some cd's but who really buys those anymore, lol! saw some guitar hero 3 and aerosmith bundles but no world tours, DARN!!!! Still a good amount of digital cameras and picture frames along with some of the bigger tv's but otherwise you can call the time on that store, R.I.P. MY FRIEND!!!!! Also had the 10 days left sign. I hadn't been there since I stopped by the very first day of the liquidation, and I gotta say it was pretty bare, but I did manage to score some goodies:

-Diablo 2 $8
-GTA San Andreas PS2 $3.20
-Spirited Away $8 (I'm cised about this one... seriously, how did no one pick this up earlier!?)
-Beerfest Blu $13
-King of Kong $10

There were tons of strat guides left:
-Oblivion GOTY $10
-Spore $8(they also had that hardcover "evolution of spore" book, since it had no UPC the lady just gave it to me with the guide which was cool, unless it was supposed to come with the guide in the first place...)
-Pokemon Mystery Dungeon $8

There was some other stuff I was particulary interested in and might go back to check on after work today... I noticed they had a Rockband Stage Kit set, does anyone have a general idea about how much this might ring up for?

The San Mateo, CA store has been pretty good, mostly with DVDs though. I ended up with about 25 DVDs at $5 each, even though some of the price tags are much higher than $9.99 (back when DVDs were 50% off). Gaming-wise, I haven't got any except there was a random Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD sitting in one of their carts. Sure enough, I was rung up for $0.00

Well said. I never saw Circuit City as a top-tier store, especially since all the places I've seen Circuit City stores have a Best Buy either across the street or nearby. I don't think anyone can walk into a Best Buy and then a CC and consider them in the same league. Every Circuit City I've ever been into was a mess, the selection (from games or movies) is lackluster, and there's no organization to anything. I've never had terrible customer service there but I've never thought that the service was outstanding either. Most of the employees there didn't know anything because no one told them, which is a sign more of bad mangement than anything else. I think the only good times I ever had at a Circuit City store is digging through DVD/CDs trying to find something I was looking for. Usually I just gave up and went to a different store instead. If they didn't give me or my family a much better credit limit than Best Buy, I would probably have stopped shopping there years ago.

CC failed because its customer service was a fucking joke. No one knew what they were selling you and alot of the times no one ever would ask you if you needed any help. Couple times I was in a CC I barely saw any employees on the floor working.

Alot of people in the industry saw this bad ecomony coming. So CC never really prepared for it and just thought they could sale thru it.

In the end what is the sad part about all this is not that CC is closing but the people who will be out of work.

I'm putting odds at 99% the SoCal rumor is a lie. Why would the national liquidation company set a price for a specific region?

I don't blame anyone for trying, but I think I'll sit it out. I'm guessing that since "10 days left" was popping up everywhere yesterday, the earlier rumor of 70, 80, and 90 next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday makes sense.

My experiences with CC in the past have always been pleasant. Items were never too hard to find and the employees were always courteous and helpful. Returns were always easy too. This would be my first post, but I thought I might help by shedding some light on the situation as I currently work at Circuit City (at least for another 9 days ^^;)

The price drop yesterday is the first of 4 in the next week and a half. The next price drop will be on Sunday. Games and DVDs will be 70% by then if there are any left at your respective store. The next will be next Wednesday, but I'm not sure if Games and DVDs will drop on that one. I'd bet money on yes though. The final 'normal' price drop will be on Saturday and then there will be several throughout the day on the final day (Sunday) which is relatively normal in liquidation.

As for the 90%, I highly doubt it, but I'm located in Northern California, so who knows. I'm pretty sure that the whole west coast is handled by the same liquidation company though, and having one region having different prices doesn't make much sense at all for them.

In regards to all those Circuit City haters out there, it pains me to see so many people hate us so much because not every CC was crap. Just like not every Best Buy is the best thing since sliced bread. Our CC was always one of the best in the company. And our game section has always been handled by someone passionate about games, so usually was very orderly. Unfortunately there are many CC's that fit people's descriptions exactly, which is why we had our demise.

Thanks to those who realize this and at least feel the pain of those losing their jobs in the worst job market in a quarter century.

I was at CC at Patriot Place near Gillette Stadium last night. Games were at 60% and there was a "Last 10 Days" sign posted.

Not too much left for gaming - I walked away with both Wipeout PSP games and the Wii balance board battery pack for a combined payment of under $30.

I noticed that a wireless gaming adatper was available for about $35. There were a few left, so I'm waiting for a further drop to pick one up (maybe all of them).

We already paid for the employee refrigerator ($150 for it, and it's only been used for one year and is in good shape and large - perfect for the extra beer / frozen meat fridge in the garage). We can't pick it up unil 2 days before the store's closure.

Plenty of TVs left!

I am too very sorry to see Circuit City go. Not only because I felt they had MUCH better service than Best Buy, but we are losing a competitor to Best Buy which just enables prices to be raised. I also am very sorry that working people are losing jobs and understand that is very stressful and has implications for their families too. Please try to be considerate and think about how hard this is for the workers and give them a kind word, instead of insulting their employer.

Two cents:

The liquidation is obviously coming to a close for them, from the sound of it most stores threw up the "last days" signs yesterday. Im sure that a few bigger locations will remain a week or two more but for the most part they want out as soon as they can. Period. Most likely, yes they have hit their quotas on total sales, now its cut costs to the minimum, every week open longer is more than likely one more week of bonus payouts to managers and keyholders that have stuck it out. As well as the overall payroll picture, think about location costs, utilities, etc. Even in bankruptcy some if not all that money since the filing still has CC on the hook for the bills. Everything prior works out in court among the creditors.
Mind you, that they are being ran most likely regionally by a couple of the major national liquidators all working together, but seperate as they all have a stake in the profits, that said, once they get to a point on paper that makes them happy, its cut and run so they can get on to the next gig. Thats how they work. Its funny how many reports and scenarios they play out daily on their accounting and numbers, and most times they are making changes on the fly. I have been amazed that they are staying fairly consistant with changes every thursday...
I know when we did our liquidation last month it was alot more random, but they were doing it in a very short amount of time and it was in everyway a true cluster uck mostly because of the shambles that they were working with from our corprate. In all these, remember, they will just walk away from what ever they don't sell fixtures that don't go just get left for the landlord if they can't work a deal on them. I know we were in charge of our own fixture sales, seriously what ever we wanted to sell them for we could. We still had a quota, but once we hit that, no one cared. Same with the product, granted it is easier to sell goods than fixtures but the last weekend they called at like 8:30 on a saturday night that we closed at 9, we were supposed to close on the following day forever, and said if you can sell it all tonight, you don't have to open tomorrow. Talk about a riot, I got on the intercom and said "Attention ladies and gents, Youve got half an hour to get your sht and get out! Everything you can fit in a box for 5 bucks!!" Man you should have seen everyone scramble.
Anyhow, I don't think it will work quite that way at the CC's but you might watch it daily because it will change daily now that they have put a final number on the inevitable end.

LOL that's awesome. I'm going to be at the Culver City location and report on whether that craigslist post was real or bullshit. Now with everything I've read since, I'm thinking it's bullshit, but boy do I want it to be true.

Although with the employee that reported that 1 company is running the entire west coast, I don't see why it wouldn't be the case for their whole region/operation at least...except that maybe LA/southland stores have done really well for them liquidation-wise because really, there hasn't been JACK left at most locations from what I've seen. It sounds like other regions have been VERY slow, because reports of people still finding PS2s, PSPs, tons of X360 consoles, DS high quality games like Chrono Trigger, Castlevania OoE, Final Fantasy games, etc. is just absurd to me. Those were gone in LA probably in the first weekend of the liquidation, maybe even before.

So I'm thinking this 90% off might still be true for SoCal, if they've hit their numbers here (and again, judging by what's left, I think that may be the case) and want to save the money from having to be open another week to 10 days. Anyway, that's just my way of rationalizing to keep my hopes up, LOL. Leaving in 5 minutes since it's a couple of blocks away...

Oh, and to the guy reporting the "Final Days" signs stating 70% off Friday, 80% Saturday and 90% Sunday, is that for THIS weekend, or NEXT weekend? At first due to the 10 days left info, it sounds like it's next weekend...but someone else reported 70% off already, as well as the 1st being the last day.

So are they shooting for this weekend being the last? Or next weekend?

Just came back from the Springfield PA CC and it is picked clean. Only thing left were some PSP accessories. ALL the games were gone (for all systems).

Some lady was trying to bring back a defective stereo she bought and the supervisor wouldn't give her the money back. She started to get loud with him and he called the cops to escort her out. LOL

Montclair, CA (SoCal)

At the one near me there's a big sign in the front "Last 10 Days" as of yesterday so that would mean next weekend. But its probably different for other stores.

Hmm, if it really does reach 90% off, I'll probably go back on the last day just to see if there are any crappy PS2 games left. Almost any game is worth $1, right? :P

I'm really bummed to see Circuit City go, it was the only place I've ever found halfway decent clearance deals, or really any at all. Best Buy, Target, and Sears are always total busts for me but I picked up a lot of good stuff at CC.

I'm in VA and I'm pretty sure the CC here just posted the final 10 days sign yesterday. I'm thinking next weekend will be it, as of yesterday there were still some decent TV's but no games except a ton of Soul Calibur IV for both consoles and diablo 2 battlechests.

Well there's still only 60 % off in the NJ stores I checked. However, from yesterday at noon to today at 10 am, all the remaining 30 PS3 and 10 Wii games and 40 of the last 50 BluRays all disappeared. Weird. Who bought these things? Why didn't they buy them before yesterday afternoon.
I only went back to see if the discount went up. At least I won't have to go back again when the discounts do change.

Actually, I lied. They had one copy of All Pro Football for the PS3 still there. I passed.

I think someone just mentioned the price - 50% off, meaning $50.

All of the Social Gaming stuff - Guitar Hero and Rock Band bundles, guitars, etc. are 50% off now.

All of the games are 60% off now. Although some have reported 70% off...

That is for one store only. Tacoma, WA it's closing totally on Sunday. I posted the "Schedule" so if people had a similar situtation for their store closing they knew what the discounts might look like.

So since this store had 3 days left, it is for this weekend. Vittra posted something similar but sunday was the 70% and Wednesday was the 80%, and I think Sat/sun of the last 2 days was 90%.

K, just got back from Addison, TX store...

Scored the last Farcry 2 (360) for $24. Other than that, all they had were a bunch of GH Aerosmith (all systems), extra guitars, RB Stage Kit ($50). Lots of copies of Stranglehold, which is now around $8 (get it if you never played!), a few copies of Condemned 2 (360). Virtually no PS3 games besides GH:A.

Oh, there was one copy of NHL09 (360) in the printer section...

I considered picking up an open-box ION USB Turntable to digitize some vinyl, but the asshats wanted $75 for it... no guarantee that it works. Costs $90 new at buy.com(!). Hope no one falls for it.

That's impressive that SM had no more games. As of two days ago they had at least two stand-alone racks filled front and back with next-gen games, and almost as many last gen titles.

It's just a youtube clip of a 360 demo unit that RROD at a gamestop. The display case has a giant plexiglass enclosure for the 360 so there is little (or no) circulation for the unit. I guess you could always just try to remove the enclosure since it'd be sitting in your home.
