Right after snow is the best time to shop. Hardly any other shoppers around.
That's WHY you stay Home!!! Because NOBODY else is getting it!!!
Maybe if you WAIT, % will drop in a couple days!
DON'T believe Liquidator's "NO MORE Discounts" Crap!

I wanna get a drawing tablet, however, the ones at my circuit city look pretty beat up. A drawing tablet is something you kinda need new or in great condition.

Yeah I am going out in a few hours, going to check CC and Target, I figure there won't be any lines to wait in and I really like going deal hunting when stores are empty.

5" of snow is not alot, and hardly dangerous if you know how to drive in it. Last big snowfall we got (6"+ in a few hours) I went for a drive just because I felt like it. Roads were shit, but I had no trouble going up and down the mountain roads. It's especially nice because nobody else is daring enough to drive in it.

Does anyone know if the CC in Rancho Cucamonga is still there? I'm thinking it's a long shot but maybe I can find a copy of fallout 3 over there...I'm not gonna be able to make it to Huntington Beach until Thurs:cry:
That is unless some altruistic fellow CAG can help me with getting a copy and I can pay pal them the cost and shipping back to where I'm at...

That CC is still opened, but I highly doubt you'll be able to find any games over there except for Guiter Hero unless they received new shipment. I was there just a few days ago. The ones in San Bernardino and Moreno Valley are also completely out of games except for maybe some non-big name titles.

Picked up
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 for $12
Oceans 13 Blu-Ray $12
I would agree that GH: WT band kit or standalone is a steal.
But, there was pretty much crap otherwise.
This was on Friday night. 60% off

Went Yesterday to the WPB, FL one and was able to get the last copy of FC2 for 18. Also got GH: WT for 18.
I also picked up Earth Defense Force 2017 for 5 bucks, I figured WTH.
They had one other copy of GH:WT (game only) and a couple of bundles. Also, the usual suspects of GH: Aerosmith (only a couple of copies) and some misc. crap.
Take note that was YESTERDAY at 10 am when they opened. That stuff is problably long gone by now (not Aerosmith). So keep that in mind before you head on out there unless you live close by.

This store has been obliterated. Few X360 games left, couple PC games remains. About 10 Cameras/camcorders with high prices are still there. Seen some idiot buying a old Lenovo laptop for $800. All the Inland Empire CCs (Cucamonga, MoVal, SanBernardino, Temecula, Montclair, Victorville) were cleared out by 50% off. HearingCAGs in other parts of the country talking about remainig PSPs, X360, PS3, and Wii consoles along with tons of games, cameras etc made me realize how very very populated Southern California is.

Took my last trips into the Clearwater and St. Petersburg, FL stores.
Got some things, although I mostly pissed because of a cashier error who quoted me a price of 10.50 for a 320GB harddrive, but when I went to buy it it was $77 dollars.
Anyway, I got:
Sims 2: Open for Business game guide: $.01
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness: $10.50
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Game Guide: $4.00
Les Paul Wireles Guitar Hero guitar for the 360: $16.00
Big Love: Season 1 on DVD: $18.00

I know that it may be far for you (since your over by Clearwater?) but when I lived in Tampa I remember that the one by Citrus Park and the other one by Dale Mabry (and the stadium) usually had inventory. You may want to check those for items especially when it all goes down to 90%.

Looks like the liquidators took the pc accessories back up in price. They were 60% off last Thursday but today it's all marked at 40%. Games, DVD's, CD's, and Software are 70%. Picked up Crysis Warhead -$13 and Sam & Max season 1 -$7.50. There was a big stack of GH Les Paul Guitars $16.

It should all be 70% off right now at any CC but the problem is being able to find games.

I went to the CC at Sawmill in Columbus Ohio.
I just got Warhammer Online and the Strategy guide for $23 together. Maybe not the best CAG deal I've got, but I'm pretty happy.
Other than that the place is empty. I didn't even see any console games. DVD's and CD's were down to one side of a shelf and 3/4 of the store was taped off.

The best thing I've experienced during this whole liquidation was at the Atlantic Terminal CC in Brooklyn. I found a HUGE pile of merch hidden in one of the shelves by the camera section, and I hear somone yell "NOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!" I turn to look and see a female CC employee. I got all flustered thinking maybe they were there b/c of something to do with the store....Nope...A few minutes later as I'm rounding the store one last time I hear this same employee talking to her fellow employee's saying how she can't wait to cash in on all the things she's stashed away.
WOW. And to think I actually felt bad thinking I was doing something wrong. The witch was hiding it for herself.
Wow, that's messed up. I'll have to go today and look for this pile of stuff. If I find it, I'll just put it all on the floor. What a bitch.

Dale Mabry is closed, it closed in November with the first CC closings. I haven't made it out to Citrus Park, and although I intended to, I doubt I will.
I MIGHT go back Sunday/Monday just to see what's left at 90%

Picked up the last Rock Band Stage Kit (:360:) for $40 - not bad.
They still had a stack of the full Guitar Hero World Tour Bundles (:ps3: only) for $78.
They only games had about a dozen 360 games, but they were still marked too high to even be viable at 70% off... (ie, PGR4-$60, King Kong-$40, etc).

I think there's a big difference between a consumer who is hiding something to hopefully get it at a lower price for themselves later (like I do at Target sometimes) and an employee hiding lots of things so she can hoard them and resell them for a profit.
For those that care, Johnstown, PA is pretty much dead in terms of games and DVDs. Handful of games for PS2, PSP, PS3, 360, but that's it. Nothing notable, and when I say a handful... literally, prolly only around 20-25 games (most were multiples of same games) left total. Still had a few copies of Soulcalibur4 (wow, was *this* over-ordered) for 360, which I finally gave up and snagged now so I don't have to go back.
DVDs weren't much better. What were full shelves a few days ago are nearly bare. Still some ok stuff, but nothing worth making the trip for.
So, that's it. It's kind of sad realizing that's the last time I'll ever be in a CC. Despite the sometimes not great service, I'll miss having another place to even *get* games in this town. I mean, if you wanted some sort of smaller title that you didn't want to buy open from GS, CC was the place. Also an incredible place for picking up Collector/Limited Editions after the fact. Sure, price wasn't low, but it was more about selection. It was a terrible chain to be certain, but sometimes it was a godsend in a smaller area where the only options are GS, FYE, and TRU.

First of all, why do you assume that the hidden stash is going to go on ebay? Ever think they might be stocking up on stuff they want for the house or relatives?
Second of all, you're assuming that the person is hoarding some huge stash when you weren't even there. You're going off hearsay to damn some CC employee for a stash you never even saw. For all you know, that HUGE pile might have been for half a dozen people. Then again, you didn't actually see it did you?

I'd say. I almost bit at $20 dollars, but I am glad I waited. I am sure somewhere in the world there is one one sale around the same amount, but even used ones at GS/EB aren't that cheap.
If you have the wired cheap quitar, going up to the Wireless les Paul is a GODsend.

Yeah, I just got back from there like 20 minutes ago. I ended up snagging 2 copies of Soul Caliber, still leaving 5 or 6.
I almost picked up that Moda Omnimount wall shelf, but ended up passing. It was marked original price 199.99, after 70% off = $90 (??) but I know MSRP is actually 299.99. I couldn't get the head liquidator to budge on the price, despite the sign saying 199 and 70% off. I may go back tomorrow for it, because it would work well in my living room, I'm just not too keen on dropping $90 for it.

"I hear this same employee talking to her fellow employee's saying how she can't wait to cash in on all the things she's stashed away."
The term "cash in" leads me to believe it's likely going to ebay or CL or the like. I wouldn't say "cash in" to describe something I was planning to keep for myself, my friends, my family, etc.
"I found a HUGE pile of merch hidden in one of the shelves by the camera section"
I know I didn't see it, but if it was described as huge by a CAG, I'd like to believe him.
I'm not upset if she wants the stuff for herself and her friends, but I'm upset that she's apparently looking to "cash in." Shooing customers away from her stash is kind of grimey, too.

I got scammed today.
I found SC4 but there was no disk inside. It was probably a display copy that they sold me.
I tried returning it but they have this rule about no returns, even though they sold me shit that they shouldn't have had on the shelf in the first place.
Now I want blood.
This might be inappropriate, but doesn't Walmart accept stuff without receipts? I know it's terrible to do, but could it realistically be possible to walk in to Walmart with Circuit City's game case and return it there as if it was an item I bought from them?

Man, return fraud is bad enough when it's just an item you bought from another store. To bring a game that was tampered with to another store to actually cause them to lose the amount of the game, that just seems WAY more messed up.

Your best option is to file a dispute if you paid with a credit card. I think you can also file a dispute if you paid with a debit card.
Things don't look good if you paid in cash or check.
Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is to go back later when they have another shift of people working (if they don't just run with one now) and try again. Hopefully they would help someone who approaches them honestly and tells them what happened, but considering the number of times this has happened at circuit city during the liquidation, odds are they won't help you.
Contacting the local media might help, but I doubt they would really care about a small value item, unless they are already working on a story about similar issues and want another interview with an angry customer.
Sorry to hear about it, my union message board has someone posting what a great deal Circuit City is the last few days, about 3 people mentioned how people are getting hosed with stuff like this.

Finally, after all the times getting ripped off on good deals, I got one. I head out to my CC a few minutes ago and found they had mostly crap, although they did have some somewhat decent pc titles and dvds. However, I found the Fallout 3 Collectors Edition which everyone here seems to also be finding. When I took it to the register, they charged me $18. That's like 80 percent off! My friend said something too, and the lady looked at him weird lol.
So i'm pretty stoked as I got a game I wanted for 18 bucks, and it was the collectors edition. Yay!

Uhhh, what? You're actually thinking about taking an empty game case from Circuit City and trying to "return" it to WalMart? First off, even if this wasn't an absolutely reprehensible thought, how exactly do you think you could get an open, empty game case past the WalMart customer service people? Sure, I know they aren't the smartest bunch by any stretch of the imagination, but how exactly would you get that one past them?
Not only that, but I thought WalMart changed their policy recently so that they no longer take back items without a receipt.
Rule #1 of liquidation sales - ALWAYS PAY WITH CREDIT CARD (NOT debit cards, NOT checks, and most definitely NOT cash) so you can dispute the charges if something like this happens. You're only out, what, $25? I suggest you live and learn from the experience.

World Tour Bundle (guitar, drums, mic and game) @ Fashion for $76. If you already have a copy of the game or don't want it, trade it in at Gamestop for $20 or 27.50 w/ 25% coupon + edge or up to $30 with 40% (w/ at least 6 trade-ins) + edge. Hope that makes sense.

Well this is what I have to report from Columbus, OH:
Easton - Wow this place is just about cleaned out. Around 4 dvd titles, some Spanish cd's. Around 10 les paul's for :ps3: left no games on the shelves for consoles(some pc ones though). I went up to customer service and saw some console games. Asked if they were for sale guy said yes. All games were disc and manual only. :360: 1x Condemned 2, 2x Crackdown, 1x Bioshock and a few old sports games.
I ended up with:
Mass Effect guide 4.00
:ps2: Lego Batman 9.00
:ps2: Syphon Filter Dark Mirror 5.09
Dublin - Similar to Easton however no console games(some pc ones) whatsoever a few dead space and too human guides I passed on them. Four copies of some X-mas blu-ray and more Les Paul's lol. A couple dvds nothing any good. Tons of :ps3:component cables and Nyko blu wave IR remotes.
I ended up with:
Nyko Blu-wave IR remote for :ps3: 8.00
Polaris - Had the most dvds of all three even Season 4 of Smallville. Three disc only games 2X The Club and 1xOpen Season for :360: I passed on them. There were around 25x les paul's 3X Kramers and one GT WT :ps3: guitar bundle but they wanted 75 and it didn't even have the game included!
I ended up with:
Printer/Copier paper 500 sheets 4.00
Doubt I will return nothing left that peaked my interest.
All three stores said 6 days left on the front doors.

I have the feeling that the employees are hording some of the good stuff in the back and are waiting til end of business on Sunday to run up their 90% off 360's/PS3's and Wii's.
bastards.
LOL, as much as it would help explain why none of the "good stuff" was present, there is absolutely no way this could have happened, because the liquidators running the show would not have allowed it.
Remember, their goal is to get the max $$$ for the inventory - there is no doubt they would have checked the inventory, seen 10 Wii's, PS3, etc. on the inventory list for the store, and when they weren't anywhere to be seen, they would have been all over the staff to make them magically reappear.
The more likely scenario is that any Wiis, DSes, PS3s may have been all resold in bulk to other retailers, distributors, etc. before the liquidation officially started. Or they could have been put out and sold on the first day.

Several stores have had 360, DS, PS3, and Wii consoles during the liquidation. Some dude comes up with a truck and buys every single one of them. Don't blame employees, blame the hoarders in your area.

Tell me about it...Everytime I hear about a good deal out here, it seems like someone nabs it by the time I head out the door and have to travel practically everywhere to find it again...

I'm not sure about the others, but am assuming they did too.

Damn, I called them two weeks ago and they didn't know when they were closing.
There were only two that I knew of. The other's on Oracle.

I almost went to your store in Garland, but after a mapquest search I didnt go because:
a) Is 40 miles away from me
b) I dont want to pay to use the Bush turnpike.
Instead I went to the Frisco location and it sucked major ass. At least I got two decent cds (Jack's Mannequin and and Alkaline Trio for $3.80).
I am definitely hitting Denton and Southlake once stuff hits 80% off. I also went to the Denton location and I got 7 or 8 cds for $3 or $4 including some that I hid behind some digital frames. Yes go ahead and hate me.
Good luck on the North side of the Metroplex. I hit a Fricsco store, and couldn't find anything worthwhile at the time.

Went to the Fort Lauderdale Circuit City today. They had a million DMC4's, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Guitar Hero AeroSmiths for 360. A bunch of random PS2 games and some GH3 bundles. I did find Apollo Justice buried under a stack of Smallville DVDs though. I think a CAG was trying to hide it but I got it.

Dropped by the Boynton Beach, FL store, and all the console games and Blu-ray movies are gone. They have tons of I Am Legend on DVD. The only things that are kind of decent that they have left are hard drives and LCD TVs but they are still not a good deal for me anyways.

Seriously? Hope that's not the case in Springfield, VA. I don't get home for Spring Break until Friday, and I'm hoping that there might be SOMETHING there worth getting. I don't have my hopes up, obviously, but how awesome would it be to see a PS3 or 360 for 60-70% off? I could use a replacement 360, and would love to have a PS3!

I went to CC(Florence, KY) a couple days ago and they had no console games, some decent PC games(to bad I don't have a gaming PC). They had A TON of hard drives left so I think I will pick one up for my ps3 when prices go way down. They had a bunch of Tv's still. Oh yeah and they had a bunch of guitar hero and rock band instruments left. Also other stuff I dont really care about.

Today, I was hoping to pick up a copy of Call of Duty 4 PC for $15, the PC games section was picked and moved. :(
There were about 20 copies of CoD4 on Friday, so I missed my chance. Oh well. The Newport Beach, CA store was probably the best CC store I've been to during this liquidation. This was also the only store to last this long in terms of a decent game selection. With this store gone, there's nothing left for me.

For anyone by the FAU store, they found a bunch of the Halo 3 Wall Cling things and are just giving them away if asked about. They were in a bunch of gray crates just behind the yellow caution tape near the left half of the store. Just ask for one, have them try to check the price for you, and they should just come back or outright say its free.
Info is form 3 today, but there is still a decent chance of getting one.
Also from the Boca Store, got a copy of Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for $6, and DMC3:SE for $3. Boynton had nothing.

My store (Merritt Island, FL) only had a few 360 games left. Sports games, and a few others that nobody would want. Had some GH bundles for 360 only, but not World Tour. GH3 and Aerosmith. Had a fair amount of PC games, but I'm not a PC gamer. I ended up buying 3 CDs. First time I've bought CDs in like...ever. But they were only about 3 bucks, so I got them. Maybe because I didn't want to leave empty handed.

I imagine anytime their shift is over. The company wants the sales, it just doesn't want employees causing harm to the company by storing stuff in the back room that could be sold now at a higher price.

.
I was there today and it was pretty full compared to some CCs I've seen. I even saw a 360 Need for speed undercover randomly mixed in with all the crap, no idea how that survived this long. I price checked it but it was $18, not my kind of game so I left it. I actually put it behind a few other crappy Xbox games, if anyone's interested. The DS bin was still quite full, I remember seeing the Aquarium game, Teenage zombies, Scurge, other bits and pieces.
Also random stuff I remember seeing there : PS3 TNA Impact, was gonna get it, but it rang up as $18 too! Er, retail price is 19.99 on this, so no thanks. 2 copies of this were left. PS3 All pro 2k8 and NFL Tour also. Old Xbox stuff, some name titles include Doom 3, Ghost recon summit strike, and enough copies of 50 Cent to build a house with. No interesting or rare strategy guides to speak of. Tons of Hancock and Bangkok dangerous on DVD, so you can have yourself a nice Hancock/Bangkok double bill.

Went out to the CC on Arden in Sacramento today. Had a feeling I should go and, lucky me, I got their last GH:WT guitar + game bundle for $40. I had passed on it at $60 last time I went since I was able to get a Rock Band wireless guitar for $30. Was hoping for the full set but the girl who rang up my purchases said the sold all their full bundles a week ago at $130.
All that's left game-wise is GHIII and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith guitar and game bundles, $40 a pop IIRC. Their PC game selection is Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa, and Sims 2 expansion packs.
As for DVD's and Blu-Ray's its pretty much just Saw II, Space Cowboys, and Meet the Spartans on Blu-Ray with Vantage Point, The Onion Movie, and National Treasure 2 on DVD.
Other than that all they really have is overpriced RAM, hard drives, various cables, and floor-model electronics with no boxes/booklets. Today will be my last trip there since I got everything I wanted.

Any updates from the St. Louis area?
Well, the Maplewood area CC had a bunch of GHWT and other guitar games for 360 and Ps3 (not Wii), some HDTVs, some CDs (mostly hip hop and Spanish language), and a few alright deals (Action replay for the DS $8, Wii Fit mats and skins, Ps3 remotes). I'm pretty sure the GHWTs are all gone now, but lots of guitars still remain.
The Chesterfield one has less quality stuff, but they did have about 100 Xbox Live Vision cameras for $16 each (comes with 1 month XBL and Uno). They probably still have some. Oh, and both stores had a bunch of XM Radio units that were pretty cheap, if you want to pay the service fee.

This is true, in the store in Denton, TX the Manager's office is next to the Customer service section and the door says "employees only". A few of my coworkers hit the CC at Mid Rivers yesterday. They said the DVD's are down to one row and and endcap (thats with box sets of seasons). They said there were lots of TV's left. No games hardly at all (360 specifically).

Anyone know what games might be left at the Van Nuys store? I can tell you that the Santa Monica store is wiped out other than tons of original xbox games and a few PS2 games. For PS3 there were a few wrestling games as mentioned before on this thread. Also the need for Speed Undercover for 360 was there on Sat. For 360 you might find a few of the Conan games for $5. Maybe a copy of Hellboy. Also for 360 on Sat. had WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008. Wasn't much else left at SM store on Saturday.
The sunset blvd. store is also thoroughly wiped out. I think I saw 1 guitar hero PS3 game and that about it. There was a Rockband stage accessory thingy... saw 1 of those.
Culver city had lots of guitar stuff. No games really other than I think I saw some All Pro 28K on PS3. They had some PC games. Mostly junk, a couple of copies of Conan online... but no more Conan cards. A few game guides. Far Cry 2, Madden 08 and 07 I believe along with some others.
CC Burbank also wiped out in terms of games last time i checked.
If anyone knows what is left in the Van Nuys store let me know? I am going to try and check some of the Torrance stores.

there were like 14 conans last time I was there. I was looking for Fallout 3 CE and didn't see any Fallout 3's at all. I'm sure they're all gone by now, huh?

Any updates from the St. Louis area?I'm sure MSUHitman will give us an update on Fenton, if he's been by there recently. I may try to run by there this evening, if I get a chance, and I should be able to hit the SoCo store without much issue. Last time I was in there, which was almost two weeks ago, it was pretty much dead and gone.
I've heard earlier in the thread that St. Louis Mills is pretty much dead, and Mid Rivers is the store that seems to be stocked with the most items.

i had a good laugh at the attleboro mass cc mixed in with the last few blu rays were a bunch of HD DVDs i got a little excited until i realized they were as expensive or more than their identical blu rays ha ha thats awesome maybe theyll still be there on the last day
I spotted a lone HD-DVD a couple weeks ago at my CC-- looked like it came out of nowhere. Like you, my "cool! HD-DVD! must be cheap" but no, it was like $18 or $19 after whatever the discount was at the time :D

Van Nuys was wiped almost clean. All I saw yesterday were a few very old PS2 sports games and a couple of crushed GBA games. Literally no 360, Wii, DS or PS3 left as far as I could tell.

I wouldn't even bother with Van Nuys.
1., the store is tiny to begin with.
2. their game and movie sections were a joke when they were still in business.
3. if the customer service was awful before foreclosure, I can't even imagine what it would be like now.
Burbank isn't worth the time unless you want to look through one rack of CD's. I'm not into music, so it wasn't worth it. Also, what's left is still ridiculously overpriced.

I've barely heard anything about the one at 170/40. Thought I'd read on here how that one had a lot of stuff.. but thats been 2 weeks ago or so. I almost went by there on Presidents day but I had held out hope that the Mills had something (they didn't obviously).

I was just there they have games still at 60%, but only have AllPro Football 2K8 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith(Xbox360) oh and some DS game about mysteries. They have PC games, no more Call of Duty 4. They have Call of Duty 2, 007 Quantum of Solance, and WoW. OH and Turok. Movies and CD's are 70%. Movie wise they have Hancock and Saw V. and like 10 other movies. Oh they still have Guitar Hero III, Aerosmith, and WT for PS3 and Xbox360, with guitar. Besides that unless you want some DVD-R 50pack for $10.00, don't bother.

No other console games in sight, not even shitty sports games. I did pick up a Mass Effect guide for $4, but that's not very exciting. So is 80% off effective tomorrow or Thursday? Someone mentioned Wednesday so I am not sure. I will report back as soon as I can tomorrow. as for my cc last thursday I was there scoping out there stock of tv's. at that time there was maby 15 video game remaining total from all systems.only thing I need to get is a HD tv. Is there anyone here with some inside knowledge as to how these last few days will play out as to what % off big ticket items like tv's and laptops and such will be? I remember other CAG'S saying when there local cc was closeing that the last three days went 70% friday 80% saturday 90% sunday the last day. but were all ready 70% on some of the small stuff but Im intrested in the big stuff. tv's are 40% now thats not worth it for there crazy marked up stuff. but 70% 80% off there bloated prices might just turn out to be a deal that is if the % off get that high. so for those of you that have all ready had your cc close do you remember what the % off were on tv's in those last few crazy days? thanks

My brother's Circuit City closed today.
Sony never came to pick up their PS3 units, so he got both the store's demo PS3 (stuck in demo mode, but there's ways around it) and the store's old 60GB model for free. This is in addition to the 50" plasma in the employee lounge he got for $100 and the work laptop for $20 a couple weeks back.
He was also able to buy the vast majority of the tools that Firedog used for computers and car audio for next to nothing. They also had huge bins full of cables for the employees to take, we now have just about every cable we'll ever need.
All in all he's really bummed out that he's now officially jobless, but he was pumped about the things he was able to get and the prices he was able to get them at.

:-\" WOW!! Just WOW!! A 60 gb model PS3 for FREE? I don't care if the damn thing is on it's last legs, I'd take a PS3 for FREE. Hell, even if I had to send it into Sony for $150 to get it repaired after having it a week, I'd do it.
Mind you, I wouldn't pay $600 for a 60 gb PS3 back when they were out, since $600 was at least $200 more than I was willing to pay, but for free. HELL YEAH!!!
Why can't I ever get deals like this?
Of course, someone who supposedly works for a local cable company offered me 10+ cases of USB and other types of cables for free a while back from an ad I replied to on CL.
For all I know it could've been some disgruntled former employee trying to give away stolen property, but all I saw was dollar signs.

I just picked up Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres, some title aye, $7.50, not too shabby. I also got Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!: Season 1 for 6 bucks. I guess San Jose folk aren't fans of Adult Swim

There is an extra 10% off everything for today (Wed. 03/04/2009). You have to pick up a flyer at the register though, and the cashier didn't apply the discount automatically, I had to show the flyer. May be YMMV, but at least I got a 10MP camera for $97. :D

Just happened to drop by yesterday since I had to go to Staples. It was my first time into CC since they started liquidating. Pretty much picked clean, but they had a stack of Les Paul wireless guitar controllers for the PS3 for $16 after the 60% discount. I picked up a wired Xbox360 guitar hero guitar and it came out to $8 only! I figured it would be more like $12. At 60% off, that would mean that the original price would have had to be $20, which I'm sure it wasn't. The salesgirl seemed surprised, because she thought another customer two people in front of me bought one and it said $12.
Only blurays were GI Jane, Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy, and Ladder 41 (or something like that). They had a few football games (NCAA 08, All Pro 2k) and Guitar Hero Aerosmith for 360, but otherwise only some PC games left.
Other stuff was marked way up. They had some wireless mice from Logitech that had an orange sticker below it for about $30 and slapped a white sticker over it for over $90!!! You'd think with only a few days left they'd stop pulling stuff like that.
This was in Woodland Hills, CA.

Me too.

Mine's had maybe 6 copies of Soul Calibur for the 360, and...not much else.
For $12 I might bite, but I've never been a fan of the series. (Actually the Playstation 1 original is probably my favorite.) Even if I get it, it's mostly for Yoda :D

Well the % off has not increased at my CC today and even if it did theres not much left thats worth a crap.there was 5 tables with all there cables and wires baged and taged @ $15 a bag with most having just 1 super thick componet cable. ya right and a box with there office phones for $3 each lol and as for the tv I went there serching for there were 6 tv's total only 1 in the box and it was a 52" sharp that was @ 40% off to $2200.00. even @ 90% its a rip off, some bargan lol. the best deal I saw was a whole box of combos snacks for $1.50. for those of you that are lucky enough to have a store with stuff in it worth a dam @ 90% you just might score a bargan but for me the bargans have come to a end. good by CC you were good to me for 3 weeks and thats about it.

Just got back from the CC CC - the Culver City Circuit City, LOL.
Place is simply destroyed. They had 3 floor model flat screens left, only 40% off and with absurd prices - only one I noted was a 52" LCD "discounted" to $1800, originally 3000. I don't give a shit if it was a Samsung 650, that is some fucking nonsense. The only TV in a box they had was some 40" Toshiba or something, the box was retaped with some white tape all over the top, it was simply hilarious.
There was a PSP demo stand, which was stripped of the PSP and the LCD or whatever was on the top.
There are probably about 300 CDs left, 200 DVDs, didn't see ANY Blu Rays, and maybe 10 games total. 100 Game Guides, none of which is worth mentioning, except maybe Madden '06 or '07, that was pretty damn funny seeing. Picked up the last guide for Metal Gear Solid 4, sealed, for $4. That's $3.99 more than what I like paying for guides, but meh, I figured why not.
And as I'm walking out, the sliding doors froze and jammed after opening only about a foot wide, LOL. I had to force them open manually.
So long, farewell, auf weidersehen, good-bye...Circuit City.

Went to the one at Wilkes Barre, PA, on Sunday. They had a box of cables, a box of mice (open item of course and you didn't know which adapter went where for the mice, or even if the adaptor was there), laptops (marked like $540 for the low price one), about 3 bad PC games, and a Wario Land Shake It! strategy guide.
Yes they were wiped clean.

Whu whu whu WHAT???

It always starts with this...."These prices are too high. You jacked up the prices just to lower them a little bit." Our response to that one is usually agreement. "Yes, the prices are high but we have no control over them." That either diffuses the situation or escalates because the person thinks he's getting screwed over. That's what it comes down to. Some dumbass on the web says he got a "deal" from somewhere. Everyone else assumes that you can haggle your way to a $300 TV.
The other thing that starts something like that is this...."I can buy that same exact TV at Best Buy for less." Our responses used to be "That's true, maybe you should shop around some more before you buy this TV." Now, it's "Then go ahead and buy it at Best Buy. No one's MAKING you buy this TV." This usually gets them to leave the store but some people want to escalate it to try and prove a point. That's when they get choked out or thrown face first through a door that doesn't quite open fast enough.

He said co-worker, not customer. I'm even more shocked at it since it was between co-workers. A scene like that involving a customer makes some sense, but a CO-WORKER?! Something serious must've gone down.
edit: re-reading the original quote now, he mentions co-worker and then customer. He must've meant just "worker". Makes much more sense now. I agree with depascal, it probably had to do with the pricing on an item or the customer bought a damaged item and wanted a refund.

How in the hell did he mess up? I've highlighted the main parts to emphasize that his sentence structure was proper, and I understood it the first time I read it. Nowhere does it refer to the guy as a co-worker. If you read the second part of his post, he refers to customers being on edge, loosely referring to said "guy"

It's the Greenwood section of Indianapolis which is on the southside of town border the actual town of Greenwood.....confusing I know.
Every argument I've seen has sprung from the fact that most customers seem to think that it's become a swap meet or garage sale. They think we're lying to them when we say that the liquidators are the only ones that can change prices. We're lying to them when we say we're out of digital converter boxes. We're lying to them when we tell them they can't fit that 50" plasma in a Ford Escort. It's come to the point where it's almost impossible to help customers anymore.

Thanks for the "help". I already gathered that he meant the "guy", which is why I posted an edit (which he missed in his reply).
But how he said it wasn't correct. If he said a guy spits into a co-worker's face, it implies that the "guy" works with that person, no?
1. co-worker = a person that someone works with
2. If "guy" = customer, then guy =/= a "co-worker"
Therefore, his sentence wasn't correct.

I'm sorry major morgan, but I think you need to read other people's post thoroughly before commenting.
It was clearly written that the incident involved a male customer spitting on and punching a female CC worker in the face.
Try not to jump on the whole "OMG L2READ" thing on other CAG members when clearly you yourself are not adept at doing so.
No apology necessary. I pointed out in my OP with an edit that depescal's post was referring to a customer even though he clearly refers to "guy"
as a co-worker (meaning "guy's" co-worker, not HIS co-worker). I didn't know know depescal works for CC, so I took it at face value. He should have written it more clearly.

So, on lunch, I went by to see if things were at 80%.... Nope, still 70%. And the place is really going downhill. Half the store is roped off now. All CD, DVDs and software is in one aisle. They had PC games like Shadowrun, Burning Crusade, Sims stuff and Stranglehold, but I didn't bite. Found 3 CDs at like $3-4 each. And a Conan guide that rang up $5, but the guy (salesguy) gave it to me for free. He said he probably wouldn't come back in for the last 5 days.
There was one area that was sort of compelling. About 30 external hard drives from $77 (320GB) and up (500 GB, etc.). I will go back on the weekend to see if there are any left. I imagine if they get cheap enough, so people will by 10 at a time. I would think easy resell on FleaBay.

Your edit sucked. Not once do I ever say that the guy was a co-worker. Guy referred to a guy that punched and spit at a co-worker.
If someone asked you about a guy you worked with and you said "He's a co-worker", should he assume that it was your brother in law's co- worker? Maybe some other random dude in the story? No. Any normal person would assume correctly that it is your co-worker.

The liquidators will probably sell that stuff to other stores or they can return the items to the manufacturers (Sony, Microsoft, Toshiba, etc).

I can tell you this, you will not see ipods hitting more than 30% off, those ipods that do not sell will probably go back to Apple which will then put them at other stores. I am sure it will be the same for some pcs, laptops and perhaps tvs.
