If they could return items to the manufacturers, why wouldn't they do that instead of selling it at a loss?
That makes sense but it's actually more work for the liquidators. They'd have to send every Panasonic TV back to the warehouse and then all those TVs would get shipped back. You'd have a disaster of epic proportions. That's if the warehouse hasn't been sold or returned to the landlord yet. All they have to do is have us package it all up and they can sell it as is. Someone will buy it for pennies on the dollar.
All the ipods sold weeks ago anyway. They were the first thing to go.

Went to Santa Monica this morning as I was in the area and was pretty shocked how much had been bought since last week. The store is basically only about 1/2 of the first floor now, second floor is entirely shut down. Games/DVDs/CDs were at 70% off as best as I can tell (there were some conflicting signs and of course nothing rings up quite where you expect it to be price-wise) but the selection is TINY. The whole CD and DVD selection is on 2-3 wire racks, there is less than 1 full rack for games now. I think I did see social gaming at 60% but unless you want Guitar Hero 3 for PS3 or 360 there's nothing left.
That said at 70% off I did buy a pile of CDs, my tastes are all over the place so for $2-$4/CD it was worth trying a few things. Also found a Smallville Season 5, have never seen a second of the show but it was less than $10 so I figured I'd give it a shot.
They did have LOTS of random accessories, etc, so anyone in the area over the weekend might find some good stuff, I don't think I want to brave the crowds for what's left, though..!

If they could return items to the manufacturers, why wouldn't they do that instead of selling it at a loss?
I think there are only a few item categories that are even at "loss" price levels. TV's for example barely hit amazon levels until recently, which can't be a loss. I think my store already returned everything good before the liquidation even started.

The liquidators have more than likely already shipped back everything they were going to ship back, and sold anything they were going to sell to other stores like Big Lots.

depescal, I didn't know you worked for CC; which is why your wording was confusing.
Rather than chalk it up to a misunderstanding (which I've already admitted to) you go on being a prick about it. Do you always treat people/customers like this?

There were gaming mice (mouses?) at the couple I went to as recent as a few days ago. I wonder if they'll last through to the end. Is that logitech one with the weighted blocks you can take in and out any good?

safire, your preference for wired or wireless and the shape of the mouse is really all that matters when judging high-end mice. The optical/laser engines kick ass these days, so if you think it looks comfortable then go for it.

Just came back from a couple of CCs in Orange County, CA. None of them had really anything to speak of except the CC in Buena Park off of La Palma Ave. There I found a couple of Fallout 3 CEs for PC (about 5 of them) which was exactly what I was looking for. Priced at $28 and about $30 and change after tax. Didn't see any guides.

Considering that things didn't start to get worthwhile until the 60% off hit and also considering there wasn't tons of stuff left at that point at most stores, I can't see anyone actually making any profit on Ebay or anywhere else with stuff they bought at Circuit City. I'm sure some people tried or are trying, but they'd be much better off following the deals at Best Buy that pop up every week now or going to Target on Mondays for clearance. Even at 70% off, by the time you add Paypal and Ebay fees and the usually ratio of bad bidders and hassle, you're only gonna make a few bucks off a sale. Hardly worth hoarding for or worrying about as a non-hoarder.
All the retail Les Pauls were gone, but I saw the store demo Les Paul (this one is WIRED, very important difference), so I snagged it. It's sitting in my car.
There's still a lot of TDK DVDs at my store so I'll snag one at 90% off Saturday morning.

Things were crazy there on Saturday. I had gone on Friday and saw some cheep HDTVs. I went back to pick up one Saturday morning after doing my research to make sure it was a good deal. There were only 2 left of 12 that were there (of the one I wanted) at 8pm the night before. I got it at about 1/2 the price Amazon is selling it for. Most of the games that were left were ones that had been marked up to MSRP and even with 60% off they still cost more than you would have to pay at Best Buy. There was only one BluRay left "We are Marshals". They only thing they still had a lot of were Laptop bags. Over 100 of the same style on 3 different isles.

Is it because there are doubles of most games and a whopping 19 games received for Xmas and a birthday. :)

So it's hoarding if a person buys one copy of each of those games to make a profit on eBay, given that all the games were sitting there for the same amount of time and could have been purchased by anyone ... yet it's not hoarding when you sit on your ass and play 8 games you purchased for yourself?
Thus ... those opportunists who decided to buy low and sell high are hoaders ... where as you would be ....? Get off your anti-eBay high horse and admit that you've had just as much opportunity to buy crap at CC as the folks who buy it to resell. It's not like eBayers are getting into the store an hour before you to clean it out ... man up ...

yes it was. Im pretty convinced the only reason there were any left at all is because they were in a brown box no where near the game section. I should have picked up two, I could have kept one as I haven't played fallout 3 yet and made a hefty profit on the other.

I agree, I have seen people saying that they bought 2 copies of the same game (usually Resistance 2 or Fallout CE) and bragging about buying the last 2 copies and how 1 copy will go to ebay. I understand we all need the $$ but how about the guy who shows up 5 minutes after you who really wants the game. By being selfish, the other guy will not get the game but you will make some cash, like $10 after all the ebay fees?

I could have cleared out the RB2s SEs and sold them back on ebay/craig/amazon for some profit, but I didn't. And I don't care if anyone else did. I moved fast and hard and got mine. That's all I care about. If I didn't, I just shrug it off and plan for next time.

Warning to anyone buying a tv, there have been reports of TV's being bought, and then when taken home and unboxed, they are shattered/smashed or just don't work. Since circuit city now has a can't open the box and all sales final policies the people are screwed.

I said this once and people tried to clown me about this. If you are going to buy high valued charge it on your credit card. That way if any item is damage/missing, you can dispute the charges.
I just found out about that watchmen ticket deal at best buy, so I probably have no reason to go to CC for point cards now. I feel bad for the people that lost their jobs.

I think some of you need clarification on what being a hoarder is as opposed to being an eBay user and/or seller. You can be a hoarder without ever setting foot anywhere near eBay, just like you can sell items on eBay and if you buy one or two copies of a game and make a profit, that's life ... not like buying out every item on clearance and desperately trying to make a profit.
I have a feeling that some of you bashing eBay have never even used it ... because if you did you'd realize that you can often pay less for a game than you would in any normal store, and even in the CC liquidation sale (well, up until maybe the 70% off point anyway) for the most part. Knowledge is power.

Same here. It's a free market, after all. If you have the cash on hand and the goods are staring you in the face, go for it! That said, two is my limit-- one for me, one for goozex/eBay/local trading. Even if it seems likely that I could make $10 per game if I flipped 'em on eBay, I'd just feel ridiculous buying several copies of the same game. Plus, it's always good karma to leave a few goodies for other vultures. I only buy more than two copies if I know for sure that my friends are looking for the game too.
I visited Circuit City in South Bay Center (Boston MA) and Somerville MA this week. They're totally cleaned out. Somerville had a couple of copies of regular edition Halo 3 at 60% off, so 24 bucks, but bah to that, still too expensive.

Not true, no rude awakening. Some of those PS3 games you couldve got sold for 60$ new, and you could've got for $30 at one time, now 17. Even if you didnt sell them on ebay for profit, or some other way, you couldve got atleast 26 or more then what you payed for in store credit buy trading them in and basically getting free money/credit.

From where? Gamestop will hardly give you full value.
Dare think you're referring to Wal Mart... because I don't see returning 14 games without receipts flying there either. (The limit is 3 per 6mo) And then you get 50% back in store credit that you use to buy more games? 50% off deals aren't that rare around CAG either.

He's not talking full value ... he's saying if you paid $17 now or last week or whenever ... and trade for $26 (granted most games worth $26 were long gone before last week) then the potential for profit was still there. Honestly, most eBayers were probably in and out when sales hit 50 or 60 ... because most of you are correct that right now, there isn't a whole lot that would bring in a profit.
However, a profit can always be made when you're paying 1/2 of retail for a product that still retails for $60 and eBay is an excellent place to learn that. Sure you might lose on some auctions, but you have to be savvy about the games you're putting up. Learn the market, watch what's hot ... smart gamers can play games and make money when they're done ... heck, just as a tip for anyone interested ... CC has had games brought in by the liquidators that I'm assuming didn't sell at other stores ...
Example "The Sims 2 Deluxe" ... alone it won't get you jack .. but it's only selling at the store for around $2. Now take that and buy an expansion pack for like $10 or $8 now ... bundle them. The expansions can go for $20 - $30. People see the bundle on eBay and get excited ... you paid $10 total, maybe a bit more. They buy it for $25 because they're getting 3 games for less than they would pay retail. You make money, they get a better deal than going to Target or Best Buy ... you can sleep at night, the world can sleep at night ... everybody wins ...

From what I've seen, there are only things left that weren't selling to begin with, except in some few and far between situations.
At most of the CCs I've visited in the last week, there was nothing left but a ton of PC games that sell for around the same price online as they were at CC, and a bunch of Hannah Montana and Camp Rock shit, which also sells cheap on eBay. The point is that people going to purchase stuff like this and try to profit from it are in for a rude awakening when they try to do so, because the margin will be so slim.
In the case of some of the $60 games being $30, yeah, they were and it was a solid deal if you were looking to play them. However, if you're looking to profit from them, it's just about pointless, because those games are selling for $50 on ebay in most cases. After fees and shit, you're lucky to make $10. Which, if you sell a dozen, good job, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's super ebay profit time...and it rarely is anywhere these days.
In some cases, if you're buying a copy for yourself and grab a second one to sell to cut the price of yours down to almost nothing, then yeah, there are some deals to be had. but pure profit is almost nil.

I agree. This isn't like the first guy in line buying every single ticket to a concert, this is a store shutting down for good and liquidating everything so my feeling is that the only fools here are the ones who saw their favorite game for 30% off but waited for 40% only to get pissed when they realize their favorite game happened to be on someone elses radar too. You didn't miss out because of an ebayer, you missed out because you didn't buy it.

I'd actually be kind of careful about this man. I'm sure you know that every price change prints out the next morning, and if you have been marking stuff down below what it's supposed to be selling for, then the liquidators could possibly get you for stealing merchandise. Of course, they're probably not going to care about cds and stuff, but I sure wouldn't try marking anything larger than that down.
I'm not saying that what you are doing is right or wrong, I'm just throwing that out there. I've heard some stories from other stores that seem to indicate a lot of these liquidators are being hardcore about stuff like that.

Yesterday I went to every Circuit City I could think of and none of them had ANY games left but I did see that the one closest to me had the wired x-plorer guitar for $8. I went to back to get it today and it rang up $6! Gonna go by Blockbuster to pick up a cheap copy of Guitar Hero I saw yesterday. \\:D/

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, I've been to the Trumbull, Norwalk, Gateway, Whitestone, Bay Ridge, and Atlantic Terminal CCs....and I've found absolutely nothing note worthy in terms of console games/DVDs/CDs/BRs. Plenty of blank Media (e.g. CD-r, DVD-r), a couple of cameras, sony MP3 players, lots of Panasonic Plasmas, a couple of the DTV boxes, Windows Office Software, PC games. I did pick up a I-Pod Dock made by Panasonic that I believe should connect to one of their suround sounds, but I'm hoping there might be a port for it in the back of my Panasonic Plasma. They gave it to me for $3, and I've spent $3 on dumber things in my life so I figured it was worth the risk.
Also, does anyone know if those HD Digital boxes made by Samsung are any good? DTB-h260f is the model #
But on another note, it's kind of depressing to walk into these CCs and see them in shambles. CC was my favorite electronics store, and was always my go-to. I'm actually sad to see them go.

ALERT THINGS GO DOWN TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AS a CC employee I can verify this.
All TV's are 50% off
All labtops are 30% off
Cameras 50% off
Games, movies, and CD's are all 80% off
Also don't bellieve an employee when they say they can't change the price. WE can. All we have to do is hit A5 for price modify and enter in a new price. Crap I did it all the time today. I mean I work one more day I don't give a crap. I was giving people DVD's for a dollar, CD's for fifty cents, I also sold a man a used gamecube for 2 dollars. man people loved coming through my line! :) LOL...what are they gonna do fire me...HAHAH!
The limited edition Halo 3 game is 70 or 80% off?
and I saw that they also had some "prewoned" halo 3, did CC ever sell used games?

I haven't had too many positive experiences with CC and I've wished them misfortune in the past but, ironically enough, I was a little sad going in the past few weeks. I think it's the combination of jobs lost and a little less competition.

I have seen 4 or 5 black females asking the person they are talking to whether or not this or that cd is a good deal. Is annoying when I am trying to move quickly through the cds and they are just standing there holding a cd up in the air going over the fucking tracklisting to their friend!!!

Hey, please Confirm that those "All Discounts Are Final" labels are Total BS!!!
I ALWAYS think they were BS, but you are going to be the one to know, rather.
If these Guitar Hero or other items that had these "All Discounts Are Final" at 50% off They wouldn't goto 60%+?
NOT true, right?
what would they do with the leftovers then? (if there is any)
goodwill? sell to bestbuy?
I strongly believe in the Last day, they will go CRAZY on the discounts...
90%+, 95%+ off, 50 cents for A LOT stuff.
But despite my beliefs, OTHER people believe otherwise, So no matter what. All that's left are things Nobody wants anyway now!

And what's wrong with just making $10 off a game on eBay? I would rather make $10 off of a game then not make $10 off a game. It's not like it takes a lot of effort to list the game and then print a PayPal label. Once all that is said and done, drop it in a mail box and transfer the money from your paypal account to your bank account. It should take you less than 5 minutes to do all that. What other job do you know that pays $120 pay?

A lot of jobs pay a lot more than $120. Are you kidding? Even making minimum wage in most states you get over $300 a week. Heck, you could make more on unemployment. Making $10 on an Ebay sale is a complete waste of time since listing, packing and taking the item to the mail box and then dealing with the hassle if someone has an issue sucks up a lot of time.

I just checked out my local CC(used to work there) and they had almost NOTHING! Was hoping to snag a couple games and maybe some blu-rays as a friend of mine that still works there said they had some left the day before.
a few overpriced TV's still, a few laptops, a couple desktops, shelving, cables, other various store items and 1 game! Guitar Hero Aerosmith, and that was it! And the sad thing is, for whoever buys that, they can go to the Target in the same shopping center and get it for less most likely!
and being the DLC, that is the last store in the area that will be open(supposedly)

There were signs up saying tomorrow and Saturday it will be up to 90% off.
Guides are currently 90% off but I didn't see a guide from any game released in the past year
I got Outlaw Golf/Darkened Skye Gamecube Combo pack for $1.79 and a VG Pocket Accessory Kit for $1.49 (the handheld Amazon had for $2.00 on Black Friday)
It's amazing how during these sales people buy anything. My local CC had about 6 copies of MLB 06 for PS2 for either $8.96 or $16.96 before discount. I checked today and 2 were left which are the only video games left in the entire store accept for MVP 07 for PS2 for $29.99 before discount.

I can only hope for 50% (if not more), but the clearance can be different at each store. I went to a different CC on Sunday morning and they only had GH III for 360 but it was 60% off. Went to the Pasadena one on Monday and they had every GH bundle and they were still 40% off.

Just back from the CC in Tustin, CA and the place was barren. They had two different xbox games behind the counter, a few PC games at 80% off but not really a great selection, game guides were 90% off as someone mentioned earlier. I would say 5-8 different titles of dvd's and tv sets. They had a few copies of The Christmas Bluray, The Shield Season 5, Prom Night, Get on the Bus, and a decent sized CD selection. Was hoping to pick up King of Queens and the Dark Knight at 80% off but no luck. Ended up buying The Shield Season 5 for $8 and a bag of combos for $0.70, bringing my total to $8.70 during the CC liquidation sale. The guy in front of me while I was waiting to checkout said he felt like he was "stealing" the tv's at the price he was getting it at. Will probably stop by Fashion Island one last time on Saturday.

Well... I'm done with CC now. All of the south Orange County, CA stores have very little in the way of Xbox 360 games, and the little they do have I see no value in. Pretty soon they will be stuffing All Pro Football 2008 in each shoppers bag as they leave just to get rid of them.
I thought I had quite a few games to get at the Fashion Island once we hit 80%, but the 360 selection was decimated over the weekend. They still have quite a few Guitar Hero game and guitar bundles for PS and Wii. Unfortunately no GH:World Tour for the 360 was left. I was happy to find the Rock Band 2 split-strum bass guitar for $21 (still one left).
I probably bought about 20-30 games (for personal playing pleasure) from CC during the whole of the liquidation for $10 or less. I guess it is back to the relativey fruitless weekly Sears/Target/Kmart runs.

Social gaming was 70% off today, of which all they had was a ton of GH3 bundles for PS3 and 360 (came out to about $20.99 each). Didn't pick up any of those, but I did pick up some decent CD's for $2.00 to $2.80 each (In Flames, Cavalera Conspiracy, Scars on Broadway, AFI, Armor For Sleep).

Just went to Southlake, Denton and Lewisville.
If you want CDs then go to Southlake, I probably got close to 15 cds in Southlake (mostly rock) and they had a big selection. I paid no more than $3 for every cd. My wife got a DS pack that includes a charger, carrying case, the stylus sticks (or whatever they are called) for $6. They had like 20 of these things.
Then I went to Denton and got 3 more cds and my wife got a digital picture frame for $30. They had like 15 left but people were grabbing 2 or 3 so probably these will be gone soon. If anyone in Denton wants Spiderman 3 in Blu-ray there is one copy on top of a buggy next to the cashiers. It will be $6 to whoever gets it (I already got the Bluray Trilogy).
Finally I went to Lewisville and its completely destroyed, nothing there to grab except Holiday cds and some PC games.
My advice, go to Southlake and forget Denton and Lewisville unless you want digital frames (southlake and lewisville have none), if you want cds hurry up to Southlake.
By the way, the cashier in Lewisville told me that they are still getting 360s but these are being bought by employees. The store in Southlake had a ton of PS2 consoles selling for $70s. There are zero games in Denton, Lewisville and Southlake but there were close to 20+ copies of I am Legend in all 3 stores.

Also, does anyone know if those HD Digital boxes made by Samsung are any good? DTB-h260f is the model #
.
The Samsung is good with some limitations, it won't display the menus or controls on-screen using S-Video or composite connections, which rocks if you're trying to record stuff to a DVD recorder but sucks if you just want to use it (That said, you don't need to tweak much to just use it). Also, it won't fix the aspect ratio over S-Video or composite, it will always be 16:9 stretched to 4:3. Again, great for DVD recorders but not so great for watching.
On newer TVs with component/DVI/etc inputs it works great although some people (self included) have had some issues on Toshiba SDTVs where there is a STRONG purple tint over component (and yes, the cables are hooked up right). No one ever figured out a solution and Samsung was clueless, I went through 2-3 levels of tech support.
It has great PQ overall, though, better than any of the cheap coupon-eligible boxes I've seen.. it has a permanent place in my system as feeding my DVD recorder with a nice 16:9 anamorphic signal to make awesome DVDs with. :)

The Wayne, NJ store is pretty much done. I went last night and they had nothing left but floor model cameras, PCs and TVs. I don't know how people could buy a display model at the prices they were selling for. They weren't good prices at all. People are dumb.

My GF once had a bike rack that she got from there like 2 year prior. I told her to just take it back to Wal-Mart and get a refund. She went back there (again, 2 years after she bought it) and they took it back, no questions asked, without a receipt. They will take anything back as long as they still have them in stock.

The cashier in Lewisville told me that Southlake store is the only store in the DFW area that is getting shipments with new stuff. When I got to the store in Southlake (10:15am) I saw a dude with 6 or 7 Guitar Heroes so I guess he bought them all (probably for ebay). 360 Arcades were gone and so were the 70+ PSPs that I saw a week ago. Is annoying when I am trying to move quickly through the cds and they are just standing there holding a cd up in the air going over the fucking tracklisting to their friend!!!
:hot: OH NO YOU DIH-INT!!!;)
LOL, it's not just the females (I've seen a bunch of boys/young men do it) and it's not just the CDs. I saw PLENTY of these fat, loudmouth ghetto bitches doing the same damn thing at the game cases and game racks, DVD racks etc.
"YO WHUT GAMEZ YOU BE'Z WANTIN'! TELL ME NOW MUTHA FuckA I BE'Z AT THE CIRCUIT CITY N SHIT. YO YOU WANT DIS MADDEN GAME? HOW ABOUT THIS ONE? OR DAT ONE?" And on and on, screaming into the cell phone all the titles in the case and blocking an enormous section of the games. I wish I was only kidding. Rude, nasty, belligerent.

came back from CC in Sac, CA, there are no more games, movies, or music cds. I snagged the last blu-wave remote for $6, though I saw another one in an employees go back cart. Also, some game guides (most have rips and look worn), 4 pack DS stylus for $1.49, Wii Fit yoga mats for $5.49, Wii fit balance board skins $10.XX, PSP travel packs, and of course some GH stuff.
Might make one last trip when it hits 90% this weekend. I was disappointed to find that the Sims add on was still $6. I guess only the deluxe editions are going for $3. I'm also surprised all the sucky games were snatched up.

You obviously have not been to Wal-Mart before ... or at least have not returned anything there.
My GF once had a bike rack that she got from there like 2 year prior. I told her to just take it back to Wal-Mart and get a refund. She went back there (again, 2 years after she bought it) and they took it back, no questions asked, without a receipt. They will take anything back as long as they still have them in stock.
I might stop by my CC today or tomorrow and see if they have any PC games that are worth getting. I doubt it, but it might be worth a shot :P
I thought the return policy changed recently so that a receipt is now required for returns at Walmart.

I thought the return policy changed recently so that a receipt is now required for returns at Walmart. They did, and anything that would ring up as a full-priced game or more expensive won't be returned without a receipt.

Nope. I returned something without a receipt a couple weeks ago. They gave me the money on a gift card.

must be one 'two times a year' grace chance or you return something thats not even worth recording in the inventory...
?
I went to Orange and Tustin, CA. stuff were gone.
They have the Madcats rock band drum, but the box were beaten up, and marked up to 59.99. (originally 39.99 i believe)

So I just did a final check of today's damage and I got a total of 19 cds along with 2 guides (Far Cry 2 and Ninja Gaiden for $2, on top of that, I got another Far Cry 2 guide for free that got stuck by accident).
Ironically, I bought a pile of 9 guides for $2/$2.50 each, and the cashier only scanned 8 of them, which I didn't even notice at the time. There's a guy at the door checking everyone's receipt, and of course he notices I'm carrying 9 books but only 8 were rung up, so he tells me I need to go back and get that last one rung up. WTF? This shithole is closing, I'm doing the place a favor by buying this stuff that's 90% off, so obviously nobody else wanted it, the cashier screwed up, so I have to go back and get in that never-ending line again? I just threw a copy of the Far cry 2 guide into his lap and said have a nice day and left.

Thanks for the response. I have a HD LCD TV, the Envision L32W661. It has the Digital Tuner and all that stuff already built in, but I'm trying to get OTA HD reception. I would be hooking it up with an HDMI cable. Just trying to figure out if it would be worth the $50 or if I should just get an HD antenna.

Yes, that is how it works. If a place takes your return without a receipt, they'll take your Driver's License too. They track how many returns you do within a 6 month period.
And good luck trying to return anything higher than a $60 game.

Went to the Brentwood CC here in St. Louis earlier today and it is pretty much done for. There was a guy with 2 carts FULL of CDs. He probably even had DVDs in there because there weren't many of those left either. There were 2 maybe 3 CDs left after he was done. A cashier was checking him out when I walked in and still checking him out when I left 15 minutes later...ridiculous. I felt like asking him where he was selling them.
Anyway, looks like guides are 90% off because I got the MGS4 and Ninja Gaiden 2 guides for $2 each. I also got Dead Space Downfall DVD for $4 and Silverfall-PC for $2.86. There are NO console games left and just a handful of PC games.

I'm not too concerned about "overpaying" by paying $2 for a guide. They are good for bathroom reading at least. :D The MGS4 guide is actually pretty good but the NG2 one is basically useless since it only covers normal difficulty.

Where in my post did I mention the race of said perpetrators, you two couple of Einsteins? I merely called the perps who performed that sort of behavior (100% of the time in my personal, first hand experience) "ghetto", because that sort of behavior IS GHETTO BEHAVIOR. Now the first poster, who I was responding to, DID mention the race. That's HIS problem if he thinks it's only black females. I don't think that, and I didn't say it. I corrected him, just as I'm correcting you two.
The use of "ghetto" as an adjective, in describing someone or something, is NOT limited to African Americans or any specific group. If YOU think it is limited to use in describing African Americans only, WHICH YOU TWO SEEM TO BELIEVE, IT IS YOU WHO ARE RACIST. If anything, my comments were elitist and classist, for which I make no apology.
Not only that, what makes you think I'm not African American myself, huh? I even told the original poster I've seen ghetto males do it, too. Ghetto behavior = bad behavior, NOT black behavior.
And as far as my experience has been, for all my time all over LA, it has only been ghetto bitches and ghetto thugs that are loudmouth on the cell phone. Most of the ghetto bitches have been fat, however. But not all.

If it's the Moda 2-tier, good luck when you install it. Due to it's massive weight (Tempered glass shelves), it has to be stud-anchored. Then when I put the actual cover pieces on, half of the clips snapped, like they had no spring to them at all. So the covers are on all half-assed. Honestly, it looks good once it's up, but I've only have mine up for aabout 6 hours and I'm just waiting for the fucker to fall off the wall, taking my 360 and home theater receiver with it. I've actually propped it, out of sheer paranoia, because it looks like it's pulling away from the wall a bit.
EDIT: http://www.brokenpinata.com/pics/TVmoda.jpg
Yes, that is a load-bearing GameCube. That piece of wood between the two shelves is also structural, but is going to be painted to match this weekend.

And thats not racist at all, he never mentioned a race. I've seen white, black, asian, latino, everything as ghetto as can be. Saying someones ghetto has nothing to do with race. If I said all juggalos smell and look like shit would you say I'm racist against white people just because when people think of juggalos they imagine white trash. Both CC in Leesburg and Sterling, VA were wiped out today. 98% of there dvd's in sterling were GONE. No games, crappy cd's left. No blu rays/HD-DVD..no box sets, NOTHING... All guitar heroes guitars GONE. Guides were 90% off but nothing really good. PC games 70 but again nothing good.
Picked up a nice case for my zune for 6 bucks from 30 :) those portiable WD 320/250 came up 50 bucks... that is a good price if your in the mood for a portiable hard drive.
Now if your store still has the logitech 5.1 G51 speakers..listen up, they jacked it at one store to 240 at leesburg and at sterling to 210 then brought it down to about 104-110 or so... careful of this!! althought its a good deal, not nice for them to jack it up when it's 200 everywhere else.

Also, you better hope you don't get caught. You could get fired for theft and not be eligible for unemployment if the liquidators start going through the receipts. I know it's the last weekend but don't do something stupid right before you're eligible to get free money from the gov't.
Getting laid off = eligible for unemployment
Being fired for reason (such as theft or gross negligence) = tough luck buster

You can certainly go back and pay them what you owe them for the extra guide or go back and hand it back to them and explain they made a mistake and you didn't notice it until you were home. It's not a return, it's just like the cashier accidentally handing you too much change. You really have no right to be attacking other people if you don't understand that what you are justifying is exactly the same as theft if you don't take action to make things right.

Yes, that is a load-bearing GameCube. That piece of wood between the two shelves is also structural, but is going to be painted to match this weekend.
That is the scariest picture I've ever seen. I would never be able to deal with that setup - I'd constantly freak whenever I would watch it. I'll stay with my regular TV stands that stay on the ground, I think.
Bump..Should I buy it guys? there is still more left for 500.should I wait for tomorrow?
I bet this is the surround system a buddy of mine recently bought at his CC.
It sounds nice. He was definitely happy with the purchase, except for one issue:
If you have a Wii, the wireless back speakers will interfere with the Wiimotes. It's very annoying, and he has to unplug the back speakers when playing the Wii.
He didn't have a PS3/360 to try, but since the Wiimotes use Bluetooth, I would think the PS3 controllers would also get interference.

2. Circuit City does not accept returns so I can't return the extra guide, besides that there are no returns department anyway. Seriously, I got home and noticed two guides so I thought I was charged for both but I looked at the receipt and I was only charged for one.
Not to mention, if you went in there and told them that they forgot to scan a guide, they'd probably laugh at you (unless it was a manager). All the people in this thread gave me such a hard time about getting a free copy of Resistance 2 (didn't realize it was unscanned until I got home) that I went back to let CC know. They CS rep laughed and said (and I quote) "Why the hell would you come back? Take that and run. If the employee ringing you out didn't scan it, I'm not going to hold it against you."
Short story, if someone on this thread gives you a hard time about getting something that an employee forgot to scan, don't listen to them. They're either just jealous or want to appear to be on some moral high horse.

Sounds like you're going to need an antenna anyway, since the Samsung needs one (or it can decrypt ClearQAM digital cable as well although there's no guarantee which channels you will/won't get)... it sounds like your TV has a tuner already so I don't think there is any need for a box.

Besides the spelling mistakes, dsclusive, I think you meant to say "yea those aren't racist remarks at all..." That said...
You Mad G? LOL :D Funny how the people on here take such offense to an observation. I was not getting on you that hard, I am letting you know how that statement comes off to me.
I am not going to get into it too much, but just know that it came out wrong. It's just like when I talk to white people and they say "you talk so proper" or "you don't talk black." (and yes I have heard this plenty of times LOL)
Going back on topic, has anyone been to the CC in Burbank IL? If so I was wondering how much the GH World Tour guitar bundle is going for?
Edit: My comment was for the previous poster that clearly single out black as ghetto, not towards you. I knew exactly what you meant, as I hate being around ghetto people myself. I hope that clears up some of the confusion.

Our local CC did not have shiit.. they had about 6 dvds left and a bunch of digital cameras.. they had to of sold off their shit somewhere because when they were at 50% 2 weeks ago there were still hundreds of games left and a couple thousand DVDs left at our store.. I find it hard to believe that they moved all of that in 2 weeks, especially some of their newer movies that were $23.99 with 50% that are cheaper regular price now at walmart/bb than with their discount

i guess you're right, its not fraud if you don't get caught right?
Please explain to me how this is fraud. Used the return without a receipt at Walmart twice.....
1)Bought a game as an impulse buy, saw some bad reviews, and was told by my buddy that the game wasn't worth it. A week later, did not have my receipt, got thrown out in the walmart bag more than likely as I do with a lot of impulse buys I bring it home, take it out of the bag and throw the bag and a lot of times the receipt away(I have dozens of DVDs that still have their shrink wrap on them because of impulse buys). Told them I did not have the receipt, no problem.
2)Birthday, recieved the same game from grandparents and my inlaws. Did not feel like asking for a receipt from either of them, took one copy of the game to Walmart(and TOLD them the situation and even added that I did not know where it was purchased), no problem returned for credit. But I guess you consider this fraud because I don't know if it was purchased there.
Fraud--"something intended to deceive; deliberate trickery intended to gain an advantage"
You still think it's fraud, when I said I took advantage of it a couple of times I meant that I had returned items I didn't have a receipt for, not that I TOOK ADVATAGE OF WALMART.

Competent and completely non-frustrating to the very end, Circuit City!
I am sorry but this guy deserved my comments about him being an asshole because he seemed to think he was special because he was "doing a favor" by buying the guides at 90% off, and "throwing a copy" to the employee because he had to go back in line? I am sorry but that just sounds like an ass to me. These people are losing their jobs and if I worked at CC, I would not want some dude throwing shit at me because they have to go back in line. The cashier made a mistake by not scanning the guide, so what? nobody is perfect.

Or...
1. Bought a game on impulse that was on clearance at Target, then came home and realized it sucked ass so I took it to Wal-Mart and I made $20 of it and got another game instead.
2. I received the same game from my grandparents and inlaws That's some bad luck I have. I did not feel like asking my family for the receipt so I just went to wal-mart because Best Buy or Target will tell me to fuck off. I went to Wal-Mart and told the cashier that I think my family bought the game here, so the cashier scanned the game, and it worked so I got a gift card...
That's me keeping it real

Actually, it was a little joke from the manager he said... and when I brought it up to the register he added "Or $10.00" on the tag. I think he was sort of making a statement on all the people over paying for stuff they could've gotten on sale a few months ago... but alas, I'll never know!

Haha, I feel like they purposefully package them to piss you off when building it. It took me two hours to gt the stupid thing together and I still have like 12 extra screws. It was a bigger one with three glass shelves. The middle glass shelf was like 42' and the section to put it in wasonly 40'. I raged so hard when the thing wouldn't go in. Took me forever to force it into the spot.
Takes a genius to put these things together :D

No, I wouldn't drive 40 miles to return a $2 guide. I actually am perceptive and I would have realized as I was looking at an item and deciding to buy it that another guide was stuck to it.
While I have sympathy for the CC employees losing their jobs, I also feel like a lot of them have been exceptionally rude to customers during this sale. Nobody forced them to work at Circuit City and nobody forced them to continue working there after the company decided to close. I've been employed by companies that were shutting down and I did my job well until the day I walked out the door with my last paycheck and whatever crap was on my desk.
The proper response of the security guard should have been to apologize for the mistake and offer to take the customer to the front of the line to correct the error. Sending this guy to the back of a line is not an appropriate response. Regardless of the situation of the company, this guy is still a customer and when someone spends a couple of bucks per item on guides that basically have no value, he is helping them pay back some of their creditors. He is doing them a favor and frankly, I think his response was appropriate.

Went to the Montebello, CA CC today, almost nothing good left. But they still got hundreds of spindles of DVD-R ($6), about 15 or so display laptops (way overpriced even at 30% off), lots of Rockband drum silencers (I think $16), lots of USB cables ($2), and lots of Belkin phone charger.
I couldn't pass on the DVD-Rs' so I had to buy one :) One store I went to is almost practically empty except for three fairly priced 1080p tvs.

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - There are just three days left to find a deal at Circuit City stores. The Henrico based electronics giant officially closes its doors Sunday. So is now the time to look for a deal?
Right now signs advertise 80 to 90 percent off. But if you waited in hopes of finding the best deals, truth be told, there's not much left.
We checked out four Circuit City stores across the area Thursday night and found empty aisles. But there are still a few customers bargain hunting.
"It's pretty low priced but pretty few-slim pickings," said shopper Chris Tetzlahh.
Some shoppers weren't impressed. They say they can walk across the street to another store, find a better deal, and still have a store to go into after Sunday.
We decided to compare the prices.
A Panasonic home theater system priced originally at $1000 is now $500 at Circuit City. It will still cost you $1000 Best Buy.
If you're looking for software, there are deals to find in the closing sale. Microsoft Office will cost you $51 at Circuit City but $150 at Best Buy.
An HP printer reduced to $150 at Circuit City is $185 at Best Buy.
But the prices weren't low enough for Mike Boos to buy his laptop at Circuit City.
"Circuit City is from the area. It's sad they're going out of business. With the tough times that we have right now, it's unfortunate but it's what we have to do," said Boos.
Now Best Buy stores have a price matching program. They say they'll work on a case by case basis to see if they'll meet the price. But store representatives say at 80 to 90 percent off odds are, they can't beat it.
Hmmm, I wonder what about Guitar Hero Bundle PMs?
When asked to stand outside with a liquidation sign, one Circuit City employee decided to take a stand. He knocked over a display of Guitar Hero boxes and stormed out of the store. His buddies were on hand to capture the moment for YouTube (watch below).
The good peeps over at the Gizmodo gadget blog were able to find him and ask a few questions. Click here to read… (http://i.gizmodo.com/5149764/how-one-fed-up-employee-quit-circuit-city)

New Hartford NY is like picking meat off of a dead animal after the vultures got done with it. I managed to score the last video game in the store though. Some crappy PSP puzzle game for $3.00. There was not more than 10 DVDs in the store and about 400 or so really bad cds that is not worth going back for 90% off (all of which I'll wager will be gone in 10 mins at 90%). Everything else was bare bones and they really could have ended the sale there days ago honestly.

I'm looking for a good condition Animal Crossing City Folk guide, or even a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of xxx guide if anyone finds one. There were some PMDEoX guides at my local CC last time I was there, but they were ragged. I can't remember what else they had, but they did have other game guides. I'd be happy to check. I *think* there might have been Metal Gear Solid 4, EMSDALEG, but of course they could be gone by now. I will check tonight. Any chance your local CC has a good condition Animal Crossing City Folk and/or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon guides?
Thanks for looking, awesome thing to do...........Have a good weekend. The only guides my local store had was madden 2009 and Ninga Gaiden 2. Sorry my store sucked................

Besides the spelling mistakes, dsclusive, I think you meant to say "yea those aren't racist remarks at all..." That said...
Sighs, here goes: I appreciate the breakdown of urban vernacular/jargon You did make a valid point in regards to the association of ghetto not necessarily referring to "African Americans". Nevertheless, as you stated "Euclid", your comment was seemingly in accordance with said poster who did classify the individuals as African Americans, therefore, as humans do, the assumption was made that you were alluding to the fact that ghetto individuals, be it male or female, is an appropriate classification for African Americans. And let's be honest the term ghetto is an establishment in which the residents have economic control (derived from Jews), what you are referring to is more like a reservation. You've just taken BET context of the term "ghetto" and decided that it coincides with "bad". Your race really doesn't matter as well. Uneducated statements can be spewed by anyone. Thank you for the label of Eisenstein as well even if it was meant to be sardonic....
Let me know what grammatical errors this response contains "brother"...

Did anybody score some PC copies of Call of Duty:WaW (so I can make tank maps), Left 4 Dead, or Mirror's Edge at 80% off? I think I am going to build a decent gaming PC, as xbox and ps3 graphics are garbage comparatively.

$8 bucks oh well its a cool smoke machine and light show, I'll have fun at Halloween and at Parties with it.
Nothing like an IR triped sound effects machine paired with a light show modules and a smoke machine
Best $8 ever spent.
$8?? It rang up like that or was it a price override? My CC had one left yesterday, but I assumed it was still in the 30-40 range, so I passed on it.

I rang one up on Wednesday and it was $40. So another 10% would make it $24 final price. It must have been a price override.

Yes, people are not paying for satellite radio anymore when they have no cash to spend. Their stock is 14 cents right now!

Almost nothing in the Richmond, VA area. Both stores on Broad as well as the Laburnum stores have been reduced to 3 or 4 tables at the front of each store with various products strewn about. Picked up a Belkin PS/2 to USB converter for FREE. Guy in front of me bought a Logitech speaker set with a gift card. He said there was only 17 left on it, so he gave it to the guy who rang us up. I said 'aw man, think you can spot me 5?' He was like 'sure, why not, what am I going to do with a 15 dollar gift card?' :P

Guys, don't waste your time at this point. There is nothing left at any CC. I've been to 7-8 stores over the last 2 days. Not a single item. Unless you are looking for the new Janet Jackson CD or Elliot Yamin holiday CD, which seem to be the only items left at every store lol

For those wondering, Sirius XM probably won't be going under anytime soon. 40% of the company was just acquired by Liberty Media. They are in a lot of trouble, though, so there likely will be a lot of fat cut in the coming months.
