Too bad all the X4 headsets were most likely already purchased by re-sellers before the liquidation even started. I really hate that they do that. But I do understand it is really just a last ditch effort to survive.

I am in the market for a digital camera, anyone knows what's the percent off cameras right now?

Is the progression of discounts likely to be the same around the country, or is that at the discretion of local managers? I'd like to know whether I can just keep an eye on this thread to find out when the discounts improve, or if I should be checking my store.
I'd like to know that too.
A couple friends who run independent game shops & video stores in my area (Palo Alto, CA) are responsible for prematurely cleaning out the nearby CCs. They CLAIM it's cheap than what their wholesale distributors charge them.
Geez...have they heard of Amazon? :D

I'd like to know whether I can just keep an eye on this thread to find out when the discounts improve, or if I should be checking my store. From the previous timeframe with the 155 stores that closed, it depended on the store's inventory of items and how well they sold. Stuff that doesn't sell seemed to get discounted quicker than stuff that did sell. As time goes on, the discounts will increase over time, as there's a semi-set timeframe for the stores to be closed. For the most part, it seemed like every 1-2 weeks, there was an increase in the discounts, though obviously, a decrease in the inventory.
Geez...have they heard of Amazon? :DAmazon, NewEgg, ZipZoomFly, Target clearance, KMart clearance, etc, nope, I'm sure they've heard of none of those.

The CC near me in Northern VA has all game accessories for 30%. And games are 10-20% off. I actually got my copy of Dragon Warrior IV for 30% off. No reason other than the sales clerk said "and let's take 30% off that one" as he was going through my items to discount them.
Which NoVa store is this?

So far this liquidation is a joke ... there are no good deals ... yet. Going in to CC today felt like any other day simply because everything was overpriced, even with the discounts ... some people might think they're getting a "deal" but anyone who lives near a Fry's should really know better ... even at 30% off I'm not sure most of the games will be worth it ... guess we'll see what's left when the actual deals start happening ...

I agree with you about the games, and almost everything else, but Wii points cards at 30% is an amazing deal in my opinion. The only time I saw them cheaper (I think $12 at TRU in the ad) one douchebag bought all 40 of them the morning they went on sale.

Sorry if the question has been answered, but does point cards get included in the game acccessory category? They were 30% off for accessories at my circuit city, which seems like a pretty good deal
I'm specifically looking at PSN and X360 cards.

It depends on the store. My local CC isn't discounting them at all.

I just came back from the CC in Springfield PA. Still a lot of merchandise in the store (including games that were marked way up). Game points cards were not on sale. Game accessories were 30% of MSRP. I'll go back in a week or so to see if the prices have dropped any further.
Also I have never seen that many Guitar Hero World Tour (game and guitar) kits in my life. Those things will be around for a long time unless some Ebay/Craigslist vultures clean them out at the right price.
Did you see any 1600 points? Last time I went (Monday), I only saw a stack of 800 pointers.
And yes, they have loads of Guitar Hero and Rock Band stuff.

It seems to be YMMV. Mine allowed them out, of course a few employees were told they weren't and when I bought the last 7 1600 point cards and they came up as 30% off they were a little preturbed. Not at me but at the information they got form their manager.

I agree that's a great deal if your local store will honor it (mine didn't with PSN cards at least) and there definitely will be deals before CC disappears but it blows me away how much has already been sold at terrible discounts. Unfortunately it seems like quite a few of the stores are getting cleaned out by "bargain hunting" douchebags who also happen to be extremely stupid ...

At the Austin CC's currently the prices were 30% off furniture, 20% off CDs and DVDs and 10% off everything else.
i picked up 2 Xbox cards, 1 1600 point one and 1 800 point one.
They only gave me %10 off on the 1600 point one :(

I headed up my local circuit city and their was still a lot of stuff left. About half of all
the game accesories where gone. Most Wii point cards where gone and also the MS points cards. There was still a lot of psn cards. The games where a joke and about half the consoles where gone.
Just me thinking out loud.. What if you stole the psn, wii, or MS cards(since they are small). Then you wait like a really long time until everything is like 70% off and then you go back to CC and activate the cards..

CC in Maple Grove MN pulled all points cards and Live membership cards. Said something about them not being eligible for the discount. That CC inst all that busy - only a handful of people there. They were busy during the initial weekend, when they were advertising 30% off. He also mentioned they were getting a big shipments of Wii's soon. Why are so many people criticizing shoppers looking for deals. There are some good deals in there, for christ sake. MS steering wheels were going for 30% off $69. I just bought a tiny digital camera for $9. You guys need to lighten up.

The MS steering wheel was clearanced at Target for $24.98. In that light, $69.99 isn't that great of a deal. Many are upset because when the discounts finally get to a respectable level (imo, 30-40%) everything good will be gone.
Same thing happens at Target. Clueless people are happy to get 30% off on clearance games and they have no clue that the price will eventually go down to 75% off.
Also, the CC I checked today had copies of LotR:Conquest. That surprised me as I wouldn't think that they would've had that new of a game in stock.

Not really. Circuit City is getting the business because everyone knows that they're going to close and they want to get a good deal on items, but it ends up really being 10%. Circuit City closing has spread through the media to shoppers like wildfire. If it was a 10% off weekend sale or something, not a lot of people would know about it. A nationwide closing is big, which is why Circuit City is getting massive customers atm.
Also, I'm pretty sure a lot of us are in the same boat, as all others, wishing that more and more items will be clearanced off at something greater than 10%. Hopefully things will hit 30% to 40% by the end of next next weekend or if not, oh well. 10% wasn't anything major anyway. The only thing worth getting really are accessories that are 30% off. 10% is nothing, considering online deals are, in retrospect, cheaper.

I scoped out 3 CC's over the last two days and I got:
-9 Wii Point Cards at $13.99 each
-Mario Super Sluggers for Wii
-Rock Band Track Pack Vol. 2 for PS3
I was quite happy w/the prices as I wanted new copies of the games for the Club Nintendo/Tranfer codes and now I have tons of Wii Points again. :D
2 of the 3 stores had TONS of PSN cards ($20 and $50 ones) but they said they weren't on sale and if they wanted me to scan a card I'd HAVE TO purchase it. Argh.
If they DO go on sale soon, I'ma stock up.

Some of you guys are idiots. Tons of good deals are happening but you gotta be smart and know what too look for. Or if you complain about the 10% off right now and skip until its 30% or higher, I assure you what ever you were interested in buying is gonna be gone. My CC around my area is already sold out of BD/DVD Players, most Home audio cables and power centers. As well as all ipods and MP3 players for that matter. Shits going quick, only thing not moving are 40" tv's and larger, which is understandable.

It all depends on who is doing the liquidating. From that abc report (youtube link), it's the same guys who did the liquidating for Linens n things. It took them forever to get to 40% off.

Just cause they're sold out doesn't mean the deals were good. 10% off ipods may sound good for someone but I was able to get a 16 GB iPod Touch for $200 thanks to live.com cashback a few months ago. Doesnt sound like a good deal in my case

Most people wouldn't even know a deal if it hit them in the face.
Here is an example of a good deal early on. I went in Saturday looking at this $999 50" Samsung that was on sale. The regular price was $1399. I bought it and received 10% off for a total of $899. The next day the TV was marked at the regular price of 1399 with 10% off. Even at 30% off it's more then my deal on day 1.
I also bought a 3 week old open box HP Laptop for $579 (679 on sale new) and i saw the same model in other stores after Saturday for 899 new and 799 open box.
Now maybe if you wait 3 or 4 weeks you can get deals that compare to these but from my past experience all the good stuff will be gone and you'll be looking at Junk Element TV's and crappy left over over priced notebooks.
Of course this doesn't apply to video games and i'll take my chances i can find Bioshock & LBP cheaper then 10% off.

This is exactly the mentality that is causing items to fly off the shelves at little to no discount .... "OMG, it's $2 off ... I could chance waiting until it's $10 off but it might be gone." In all honesty, there are hardly any good deals right now and there won't be until they drop to at least 40% ... sure there are deals if you only shop in a world where stores never have sales ... but dude, 10% ... that's like tax ... or shipping and ebay fees if you're flipping. The key to getting a deal is to balance the quantity with the right price ... nothing is the right price at the moment ... unless you have an insider at your CC or a percent generous cashier ...

You should be buying Bioshock at Best Buy this Sunday for $29.99 minus $10 using the 2k games coupon.

Maybe there have been some decent deals on power centers and iPods and whatever else, but this is a game deal forum... 10% off MSRP translates to no tax and maybe another couple bucks off. At best, it's equivalent to just paying MSRP on Amazon and saving the tax and gas.

In the Tulsa OK store at 41st I went in to check is prices had dropped at all, they had not. But I decided to pick up some MS points for teh listed 10% off as I need some for the Fallout 3 DLC next week and figured 10% was about the best I'd get on those as they were almost out.

Maybe people are buying items due to the time sink of driving there, searching high and low for a good deal, not finding anything that constitutes a GOOD deal, then giving in to the hopelessness that they watsted over an hour and unless they buy something for 8% off MSRP then they have nothing to show for it. You would be surprised how many people fall into that category as consumers (or they have no deal hunting ability and are oblivious to internet deal sites). Lazy/ignorant people deserve to pay full price.

I had the same experience on another item. Getting a PS3 next week (on the FedEx truck as we speak) and I needed some component cables. Almost ordered the set from Amazon for $20, but when I went into the Tampa CC, they had the Component AV/USB cable bundle marked down on clearance to $16. This is the same set that sells on Amazon for $35. It ended up ringing up at $11 and change.
Wonder how many other cases there are like that?
I picked up an Airport Express for $73 which I thought was a good deal since it normallly costs $99. It's working perfectly as a LAN adapter for my consoles and PCH

Went to the CC in Wheaton, MD and everything was 10% off except DVDs and CDs which were 20%. Found a couple of DVDs for my daughter, but that was it. It looked like everything was marked back up to MSRP. Wasn't really crowded, but then again this was 4:30 pm in the afternoon.

Bought a HP netbook last Saturday at the CC in Coon Rapids, MN. The liquidators hadn't arrived yet so managers were telling their associated to take 10% (some stores more) off everything. 10% off a $450 netbook isn't a bad deal at all so that's why I jumped on it.
I stopped in again last night and it was fairly obvious that the store itself had been pricing until the liquidators moved in. Games went back up to 10% instead of 20%, and accessories dropped down to 30%. Plus, everything actually scanned in the computer instead of being entered manually.
Anyway, I picked up a Wii Remote for about $27. Not the best deal, but it gives me a fourth remote and it was the last one they had. 360 and Wii accessories were wrecked beyond reason (since most had been gone when they were only 10% off), but the PS3 section was nearly untouched.

Though there is slight variation from store to store, it seems that once the liquidator moves in (big signs out front, official looking signs inside) that everything is 10%, with the exception of DVDs (still 20%, I believe) and game accessories (30%).
If your store isn't set-up that way yet, it's really up in the air. So, yeah, if you don't want to make the trip for only 10%, don't go yet. The only thing worth it at this point is game accessories, and those are mostly cleaned out at the majority of locations by now.

When you buy the cards, buy the ones in the plastic clamshell packaging. If you buy just the card they have to swipe them to activate them and you won't get a discount. I took up a 1600 in clamshell and an 800 just the card. The 1600 was reduced 30% while the plain card he had to swipe and it was still like $9.95 or something.
I picked up 3x 1600 cards for $13.99 and a rechargable 360 battery at $8.50 or something. I pricechecked other cards and even the 4000 points cards were at 30% and were around $34 or something.

CC in Tysons Corner, VA has games for 10%, though "social gaming" (Guitar Hero and Rock Band stuff) is 20%. CDs / DVDs are at 20%. Game accessories varied by platform, DS and 360 are 10%, PS2, PS3, PSP and Wii are 30%. XBLA points were cleaned out (there were just some 800 point cards left on Monday), though a few Gold subscription cards. No Wii points cards that I saw, there were a number of PSN cards.
Edit: There were also signs at the entrance saying "New merchandise arriving daily." Guess they might be shifting stuff from other, lower traffic stores.

Yeah no luck here either on the PSN cards. They're giving some excuse of it being a giftcard-like item like iTunes or gift/cash cards and therefore are unable to discount them. Yet wii points/microsoft points are unaffected probably because of their proprietary "points" system and are not same as cash.

Well, it DOES make sense, since those PSN cards are activated at the register, and Circuit City doesn't pay for them until they are sold to you and activated at the register.
So if you go up there, pay for one with 30% off, CC still has to fork over 20 bucks to Sony. Effectively screwing the company further than it's already screwed. Which, honestly, is fine by me. If you can get away with it, great, fuck em.

Answered my own question on my way home from work. At the Clackamas, OR CC, they were $40 - 20% = $34. They had a bunch left. I might try my luck in a couple weeks.
I think there might be hope left in humanity. I heard a few folks talking about how the % off things was pretty weak and they should just wait for it to drop or just wait for a sale at BB and have a return policy go along with their purchase. The Wii points cards are 30% off, and there were quite a few left (maybe a dozen). Bought another Wii points card, although I already have too many Wii points, and already own everything I really want.
Everything else was still just 10% off on games. Noticed quite a few games marked up (especially in the psp section). The Rockband bundles were 20% off, but I think you can find better choices elsewhere. Also, it seems nobody is buying games at 10% off (even if the rest of the store seems cleaned out), as the entire game section was full as usual.

If your POINTS cards are on sale, but you hope for them to drop further. DON't WAIT. Pick them up now.
Maple Grove MN:
No Sony points anywhere.
No ITUNES cards anywhere.
The only MS points were 5-4000 point cards.
The guy in front of me grabbed two.
I grabbed two.
Went back a minute later, and the last one was gone as well.

God!!! how is everyone getting point cards so cheap, CC by me (Wisconsin) only have 10%.
When I bought mine, the SIGN said 10%, but they gave me 30%....at ONE store (in Orange, CT). I originally was only going to pick up 1 1600 point card (needed it anyway, and wanted to see if they'd give me the discount). When I got the 30%, I "suddenly remembered" I could use a few 4000 point cards, too.
The Torrington, CT store refused to give me ANY discount on the cards, at all.
That was when they were keying in the discounts manually. NOW, I think everything is ringing through the POS system, so maybe it's more consistent and less YMMV.

The points cards at the CC by me (Orem, UT) didn't have any discounts on points cards. They don't charge tax on them here, so they said they're not allowed to discount them. I was kind of disappointed when I went to the register and was told the sad news.

I wonder if there is a discount on IPODS.
Apple is SO against sales (as is BOSE), that I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't on sale at all. OR they didn't even have any.
It looked like my local store had a lot of them.
IPODS would be a HUGE find if you could get them at 30% off (Next week they will most likely increase the "up 10% off everything", to 20% off. Or with wishful thinking 30% off).

I do not think they will ever discount the PSN cards, the two places i went to used them as giftcards. or as a cash value! they are not like the XBL cards, the PSN need to be scanned then swiped with a $20 value.......
i hope they do go on sale... but the two stores i went to no discount :(
Ah, that sucks.

Beware when buying points cards CAG's. Turns out someone bought a few PSN cards and they turned out to be sold without being activated. CAG tried to exchange them at the store but was refused.
If you do buy them, purchase them with a credit card, that way if anything shady happens you can dispute the charges with your credit card company.
Good luck!

I think they're 30% every where. Have the cashier do a price check. The difference is the signing. My store originally had handwritten signs, but in the last few days they have official signage that says 30% on accessories.
I scored the last 4000 Live Points card for $35. They also had a lot of 1600 points cards too.
They had a lot of PSN cards, but I'm going to wait since they had so many. Maybe I'll be able to catch them at 50% off. No Wii Points cards though.
I would also love to get the PSN cards for 50% off. Mine (Kitsap) still has over 50 of them. But as others have said, anything that needs to be activated, most likely won't ever get a discount. I don't think they have to pay for the gift card ones until they are rang through the POS. Until then, it's a piece of plastic. The Wii points and the live cards that are blister pack work, because there is no activation invovled.
Mine never had accessories signage. But it did last night, "offical" looking signs. It rang in the register with the 30% off included. So if your there and don't see a sign, have them scan it.

It's not the store's problem. It's one you would need to bring up with Microsoft.

Just came back from CC. There was a sign that said 10% off, but I went ahead to the register to check for the price.. Turns out it was more than 10%. I got my cards for about 13.99 IIRC. I didn't get a receipt. I guess it's because all sales are final? Managed to snag 3 1600 pnt cards. Yay!
I thought PSN cards were on sale too-- it's still full price for PSN.

My local CC (San Diego) did not have any PSN cards. There were a few Wii cards and even more XBL cards. Both were on sale 20%.
Just confirming from yet another store that Xbox points and Live subscription cards that are "pre-valued" (with a code, sealed in plastic shell) are indeed 30% off across the board.
The cards that have no value until activated (powered by FastCard) are NOT on sale because FastCard controls their price.

Quick question.
I'm trying to sell a new Panasonic HDTV I bought from CC a few years ago. It's a CRT and I never opened it. I bought a store warranty, which expires in a few weeks that I wanted to use as a selling point.
I know BB won't honor it, but is it possible to get another retailer to extend the warranty? I've heard folks speak about this in the past.
Also, which retailer is likely to do it? Thanks.

Yep, point cards are 30% off, thanks to the poster who mentioned SJ (Stevens Creek), there were around 6 left as of this evening. I think we can pretty much confirm that there will be no discount on PSN or iTunes type cards due to the reasons mentioned above, but the sealed xbox live stuff is good to go as long as it's packaged. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the next percentage drop ... any insiders know about the timeline?

Before this was posted I figured I'd at least TRY to see if two CCs in Richmond, VA (Short Pump and West Broad) would let them go for 30%. The first one just gave me the "We can't do it, it's the liquidators that mandate the prices". The second one (West Broad location)...I took two 800 points cards up to the register, asked beforehand "are these 30% off?" She said no, so I asked "well why doesn't it say that back there?" She replied "well we have a sheet right here." She reaches over to the side of the cash register and shows me this sign that says "the following items are excluded: iTunes Gift Cards, Firedog service, etc". Microsoft and XBOX are nowhere on the sheet. So I tell her the obvious. Her response "well whatever it comes up as is what we sell it for." So I walk out of the store. I decide this is my last stop on my trip out tonight, I'll just go talk to the manager of the store. So as soon as I walk back in the store, the girl from the register is eyeing me. As soon as I find another sales person on the floor, she starts talking into her mic, I'm assuming to the manager. So I walk up to this guy, explain to him the situation, and his only reply is "look man, we can't do it, don't blame us, blame the liquidators." My last words to him were "well you do realize your signs say "FROM 10%-30% OFF, not "up to 30% off"...anyway, thanks for your time." On our way out (I had two buddies with me), the girl that rang us up apparently said something like "bye dumbasses"...my friend didn't take to that so well. She came out screamin' "I WON'T TALKIN' TO YOU!!, HOW YOU KNOW WHO I WAS TALKIN' TO??". I laughed my head off, and finally left. I would have loved to have contested everything, but a) your post kind of nullifies that idea and b) it's just not worth it. Oh well, guess I'll have to shop around for some points cards.

I saw something similar, but it turns out that they had some wii point cards over by the wii fit/DS Accessories section. They took them from that end cap and put them with the rest of the wii stuff. I would like for them to stock more live or live points cards. But I don't see it happeneing.

I am pissed right now, I spent the early part of this week, arguing that the game accessories were 30% off and the games were 20% off. Well this was true on monday when I first went...Now as you may have seen I said that WAS true. Today I went and would you know that all the games were bumped down to only 10% off abd even certain games seemed to be a little overpriced, like warhawk with the mic, was priced at 60 with the 10% off. Cameras that should cost one price, with the percentages off, kinda rounded to what you would get it at bb or even cc before this whole liquidation started. this really sucks man, I f*cking hate liquidators!!!!!!!!!!

She replied "well we have a sheet right here." She reaches over to the side of the cash register and shows me this sign that says "the following items are excluded: iTunes Gift Cards, Firedog service, etc".
The problem here being a) cards without clamshell packaging are regular price (as stated MANY times in this thread) and b) the people working in these stores will not have a job in a couple of weeks meaning they don't give a flying fuck if you get a discount on anything or even buy anything at all.

Hmmmm...I might be willing to jump on some 30% off games, depending on what's available.

Sorry about that, I got the last 7 on Tuesday. Sadly, I've went through almost all of the points, and that's with giving one card away to my brother. There were Live Subscription cards yesterday though, around 6 of them at 10 AM.
Wow, a couple other E-ville folks!
BTW...damn you, jp0213!!!! JK. I went yesterday around noon-ish and found nothing worthwhile for 360, PS3, or Blu-ray.
The only Xbox Live cards I saw were 1 month or 3 month. Still overpriced, like most everything left in the store.

No 30% off games in Columbus, OH. I just checked my local CC and I saw that there was a used Gears Of War for 54.99 then a 30% off. I promptly exited the store laughing.
Hold off on the buying guys the prices will gradually fall in a few weeks, the deals are crap right now.

I went this morning, to the east side Madison store here and grabbed the fallout 3 collectors for $54+tax. I was going to buy the regular for that price on amazon anyways.
Unfortunately, the games and acc where still marked at 10%, even had them check on a few things.

Still 10% off at my store, which has been picked clean of nearly everything.
It amazes me how stupid the general public is sometimes.

Before this was posted I figured I'd at least TRY to see if two CCs in Richmond, VA (Short Pump and West Broad) would let them go for 30%. As others have probably said by now, you do realize that these people are out of a job by possibly March and that they're in 'I don't give a shit' mode right now, right?

No more Wii point cards in Hicksville, NY. I pikced up the last couple on the rack. MS points not discounted, as previously mentioned. They had tons of GHWT and RB2 bundles which is pretty decent at 20% off. Nothing else worth mentioning. Just TONS of idiots loading baskets of games at 10%, I just shook my head and stared in disbelief....

Roanoke, VA... So Maybe people aren't as dumb as I thought. Tons of stuff TVs, DVDs, Blu Rays, CDs, and games. Nothing that is 10% is moving, but all game accessories are 30% so I picked up 3 Wii points cards.

10% off most things didn't really appeal to me.
There was 30% off game accessories, so I just got a Nyko Perfect Shot to get rid of the $10 gift card I had.

Got the last wii points card for 15 after tax in Gurnee, IL. PS3 section still full of games. Accessories 30%, games 10%, blu-ray 10%, dvd 20%. Almost picked up a RB cymbal pack, but with 4 left, figured I'd wait to see what happened.
There were TONS of MS point cards (which did ring up at 30% off - guess no one else knows about them), as well as PSN cards that still came up at full price - because they're "cash" I was told. Rats!
They also had several HTIB and other home audio stuff for 10% off. CD's 20% off. So prettymuch worthless right now.

And yet they do care enough to make sure that a customer that came to their store to buy something for a discounted price they advertise is promptly dealt with like complete sh*t. Wow, CC really DOES care.

While some have the "I don't give a shit mentality", the reality is that if we don't follow the liquidators instructions to a T, they'll fire us on the spot.

Went to the Palm Bay, FL one and came back out empty handed. I grabbed the last WoW card they had, and then put it back when it came out to exactly the same price as retail. The taxes here kill every would-be deal in the store. Goddamn, I hate this place, and Circuit City. ALL of the prepaid cards are gone. All the 30% off used games are gone, and all of the regular games are there at retail-10%. I have a good feeling that they're going to be shipping a LOT of stuff somewhere else by the end.

I walked into my local CC (92nd and Sheridan in Westminster, CO) and I was told I can't shop there and they tried to kick me out as I entered the front doors. Why, might you ask? Because some Asian guy earlier in the day who works for a competing company tried to have customers shop with them instead. Anyways, they basically told me I couldn't shop there because I was Asian and we're all the same. Fucking ridiculous I've never been more pissed as I was when they told me that.

After reading this thread since the first day of CC bankruptcy and common confirmations of 30% off game accessories which could be applied to my much needed ms points I rushed to my local CC in Miami, FL. I got Sly Cooper 2 for about $8. EVERYONE was there buying video games like there's no tomorrow. 10%? I'm looking at these people thinking "Thank god I found CAG, I get these games at fractions of the original prices". ;)
Also, any time I go to CC the employees have no idea what they're talking about, and are completely unproffesional. Just be glad they're even there to ring you up.
