Anyone figure out the trick to get a 10% off code to popup on their store? Back in the t-shirt thread some people mumbled some stuff about it but noone knew how to get it to come up.

I almost forgot to get order one when I got home today. Luckily they were still available when I ordered. I hope they still go for a lot on ebay when I get it http://cgi.ebay.com/Mega-Man-9-limited-edition-launch-pack-press-kit-RARE_W0QQitemZ310090719492QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item 310090719492&_trkparms=72%3A1423|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A13 18&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I would have definitely bought 2 ( one to keep and one to play ) If that nes cartridge actually played the game for real.

I bet half of these go on Ebay. :/ I wanted to keep it for how kitchsy it was.

I'm so pleased that I got one. I spent several minutes refreshing the main page and the Mega Man pages and it didn't show up.

Then I saw somebody on the Capcom Unity blog say to check alphabetical listings. And there it was, waiting to drop so gently into my shopping cart.

For once, I'm going to keep this and not flip it.

It didn't show up until about 3:10 p.m. I had four separate pages refreshing. So there was a little lag time. I imagine the kit was on sale for no more than ten minutes before being sold out. I am so amped up about this right now it borders on pathetic. No, it is pathetic. All I am waiting for now is a conformation of shipment.

Guys, not to be the bearer of bad news, but just because you get an initial confirmation and may have a charge on your credit card, it doesn't necessarily mean you will be getting one. Per the administrator posts at Capcom Unity an hour or so ago, they couldn't track inventory in real-time, so they just kept taking orders for 15 minutes and then stopped. Basically, they will dispatch as much product as they have in the order the orders were received. When they run out, that's it. So, if you got your order in within a minute or two of 3:00 p.m., you are probably ok. Any later than that and you will probably be getting a refund.

This doesn't look good. Just got this e-mail:
Thank you for ordering on Capcom Entertainment, Inc.. Unfortunately, the product(s) you've ordered is currently out of stock and could not be shipped. The product(s) has been placed on back-order and will be shipped as soon as possible when the stock becomes available. You will receive another e-mail notification when your order has actually shipped.

It was back ordered before they first started giving them out last week. The admins said it's because they are waiting for some to be shipped to them. While some may not get it, I'm sure it will go through for others eventually.

I think it's more like very few will get it and most won't. Just spending a little time on other message boards, it looks like thousands of people tried to order this.

It seems they were sold out within 4 minutes. (http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2008/10/09/mega_man_9_kits_sell_out_instantly)

If these kits were a Robot Master, they'd be Flash Man, cause they were gone in a flash. 3pm PST came, and within 4 minutes, we were sold out of the remaining stock.

I'm glad some select Unity members were able to get theirs early, and hopefully a few of the rest of you managed to snag some of these. If you didn't manage to get through, don't forget about the contest!

We'll be working to try and fulfill all the orders and we'll see what comes next when the smoke clears. Stay tuned here for more details, and a heartfelt THANK YOU! to all the crazy Mega Man fans that have helped to make this game a hit--seeing all this love has truly warmed the heart of an OG Mega Man nut.

Wait, i'm confused with Capcom just didn't make the NES cart actually usable. I know I'm not the only one that thinks a random cart case with a sticker on it is coller than an actual working MM9 cart.

Mega Man 9 isn't a NES game, it just looks like one. They would have to start from scratch if they wanted to make a real NES version.

I totally got screwed. I've had the thing ORDERED AND PAID FOR since October 1st (I had a coupon for 97%) but I did the mistake of putting a shirt on my order.

Because the shirt is backorder, my copy went to someone else. EVEN THOUGH I PAID FOR IT.

I'm what most would call a collector and I don't think I'd pay $49 + $9 shipping for an actual MM9 NES cart, let alone this.

To all who haven't yet procured one - fear not. "Limited edition" is just a marketing term. Those "limited" Legendary Halo sets now clutter shelves everywhere - and they didn't sell out in four minutes. There's no way this isn't getting restocked, especially when the asking nearly the price of Mega Man 2 in 1989, for what most people trash, and people can't wait to pay them for it.

I got mine a couple weeks ago, and even looking at those ebay, I still wouldn't part with it for anything. Haven't even taken it out of the cellophane yet, cause I can't bear to lose the double-downed "Sale Price $9.99" stickers. Even the cartridge is looks old and weathered. Love this so much...

Capcom would have to get a license from Nintendo to develop on the NES. I don't think those are even available anymore.

That's because the cartridge is old and weathered. The very reason these are so limited is that they hand disassembled actual used NES cartridges, removed the sticker and PCB/chips and turned them into a storage case for a press CD. While it's possible they may figure out a way to make more of these since they can obviously print more boxes, stickers and press CDs for a few dollars, the hand assembled nature of these things and the attention to detail might make the likelihood of too many more of these fairly low. This isn't a mass produced limited edition, it is a hand made promo item which was never intended for sale.

Is this true? I'm not asking to be a jackass. I'm asking because from the grainy pictures it looked like those were custom molds.

Fear not! If you got the backorder email, you may still be okay. Capcom Unity staffer S-kill had this to say:

"Stay calm guys--all the kits are on backorder because they are still in transit to the warehouse (where they get shipped out to you). Being on "backorder" does not mean you are out of luck :)

Also, although you get a confirmation saying your card will be charged, nobody's card is charged until the item actually goes to you. All is well!

Yes, they made them by hand using old NES carts. If you register on Capcom-Unity, they have a couple of Capcom staffers who explained the whole process.

Just because some ass clown on ebay is charging $200+ for something doesn't make Capcom dishing these out at $60 is the best deal on earth.

It is when that's the only alternative to a press kit.

I have to admit this would be something cool to have but I don't think worth 60 bucks. It would be worth it if they included a download code for one of the systems it is on. That way you could download the game seeing how that is the only way you can get it.

No, there really only are 200. The nes carts they used for the kits are...well, are used...from other nes games. probably why the low Edition Size. The CD dosen't contain the game, seems some of you missed that part. But it should have come with it. Was it worth 49...dunno. It just looks cool with my other megaman nes games (boxed).

As for ebay...alot of those bozos don't have it in hand, except for the ones with pics. Some crazy BINS going on..$2,000!

Pretty cool.. wish I got in on it, also which it contained at least one of the following:

an actual version of the game on the CD
an NES version
a download code

Oh well...
