Seems like it picked up after the mission. When I resumed the campaign it put me two levels back. I selected the right mission and after it put me back in the city. I thought I wa gonna have to start over for a minute.

what i think is that these arent save problems just how the game works, if your save file still has you going to tayari plaza or something but on the campaign part it says you have already beat it load your save file and just open visr go to map and press up or down to go to oni alpha site or whatever else.

Is it just me, or is this game a LOT harder than Halo 3? Now I'm stuck on Kizingo Highway trying to defend this point with Dutch, and there are hundreds of enemies but no health packs. I can't get past it.I had trouble with that the first time I played it but it was easier on subsequent play throughs. You have to change up your strategy and take out the Wraith as quickly as possible. A plasma pistol will stun it making for an easy boarding and melee death (or LT with a grenade). After the Wraith is gone, it is much easier. Good luck.

I found ODST easier. For the part you are at... this is how I handled it.

I found going to the upper corner (where you entered the area) is the best place to hang out. You will have about 2 brutes coming from the stairs midway through and a few jackals (about 4-5) on your right that come towards the end. Once they were dead, I ran along the top and shot two rockets into the wraiths and everything ended.

odst is certainly easier than halo 3. if there are no health packs backtrack a bit or if you cant do it reload the level.

I believe there are health packs in front of the main entrance to the building, on the ground. And I thought there was one to the right, if you're standing in front of the building, looking towards the Wraith, in front of the turret (if those spawn in campaign - can't remember). I think it's with the sniper rifle?

For those in the preview program, the Halo Waypoint app (130MB file) is available to download. The big news is that this is the launch of avatar awards on the 360.

What awards you have are determined by having certain Halo achievements across the Halo landscape (3, Halo Wars, and ODST.) It also keeps track of how many awards you have in all the Halo games in their Waypoint career progression meter.

No other content in Waypoint is new, just some videos that ran on Inside XBox before. The official launch of Waypoint is Nov. 5, so I guess that's also the day the Facebook, etc. update hits everyone else.

I think they rolled out the avatar awards earlier this week in an update to 'splosion Man but the addition of them here is pretty cool.

I loaded it up and it unlocked 5 avatar awards for. ODST helmet, full ODST costume, OSDT shirt, ODST Hoodie, and a Monitor prop that flies around your avatar. The last one was a Recon Helmet for your avatar.

I have never looked at the avatar marketplace so I don't know this, but are these items for sale there? Would be cool if they were exclusive and only unlocked through gameplay as opposed to available to anyone with MS points to waste.

Does anyone still play this game? Lack of matchmaking really hurts when you have no one to play with. Then again I suck so that prob doesn't help. If anyone out there wants to try any of the challenges or even the campaign on multiplayer pm me and we can set something up. I'd say I'm a casual gamer and am not too concerned with getting all the achievements but no harm in trying!!

This. I can't really coordinate when I'm going to get a free second (or hour) to hop on the 360 and play something. At the same time, firefight is so chaotic that I'd be more than happy to hop into a random game and just shoot shit for an hour. This needs to get patched.

So, just started playing this the other day. Learned the hard way why you should always "save and quit" instead of just powering down. In my haste to come up with some kind of fix, I started a new campaign from the mission I was on, to see if it would let me continue in the story. For some reason it won't, kicking me back to Mombosa Nights, giving me a bunch of objectives to "investigate what happened to ODST teammates" and such.

I've come to accept that I'm going to have to play through every Mission again to get a campaign complete achievement. However, since I completed most of the missions on Legendary already, is it possible to do a quick playthrough on Normal, and then re-do the ones I have left on Legendary to get the "Campaign Complete: Legendary" achievement? Or should I just continue from the save I currently have on Legendary, with only the Flying around the Subway mission finished? Or, even worse, should I just start a new save? Thanks

theres a 200k achievement for each standard map.
theres several vidmaster achievements between odst and halo 3
getting them all unlocks the recon armor for halo 3 mp

theres the vidmaster deja vu achievement for odst where 4 players over live beat the last mission on legendary withotu the warthog or scorpion.
then theres the vidmaster endure where 4 players have to pass the 4th set of firefight on heroic while on live.

also if any of you message me in the next 15 minutes here ill play some firefight.

i need 200k on crater, windward, and rally point.

ISn't their another achievement for firefight? I know their's more then 1... but can't remember what it is...

I need to get my ODST disc back from my friend before then. I bought it at launch mainly for the Halo 3 multiplayer maps. I played ODST for about an hour, decided it sucked, and lent that disc to my friend, while I kept the second disc to play online with. But it sounds like I will need the first disc to access the beta.

I'm not too good, but I've finished the single player campaign on hard solo and have done 1 of the 200,000 achievements. Not on legendary though.

I'd be game for legendary 4 player co-op or firefight. Just don't expect me to be amazing though.

my ax180's are indeed broken so im sending them back. I have no idea what im going to order to replace them. might go back to the 720's I wish they just made a quality headset for chat.

so it shows I have a headset I have voice output set to come out bothe speaker and headset. it isnt muted. the screen shows I have a headset but I cant hear voices through the headset and it doesnt register that im talking.

ive tried a lot of headsets and 3 controllers. very annoying.

The "fight night" thing has been confirmed to be optional. If you hold down the beat down button, it will go into the long winded animation. If you just tap it, it will do the same thing as previous games.

I see a lot of people complaining about rolling, but I don't see it as a bad thing. Lets look at the past 2 Halo's, where the BR was the dominant weapon. A majority of the battles boiled down to having 3 shots of the BR land on the guys body, and then one shot to the head, with the only evasive tactics being a) jump or b) strafe. But now you can also add in a c) roll, which essentially ducks your head and lets you get to cover without letting the other person get that crucial headshot on you. Yes, I know, the BR hasn't been confirmed yet, but the pistol has, so my point remains valid.

As for jetpacks, they aren't all that different from having the portable gravity lift.

Agreed. The jet packs are really the only worrisome thing for me, since it really opens the map to annoying situations of camping with a sniper, ala super jumping in Halo 2. On the other hand, some interesting glitching and exploration may come out of the implementation of the jetpack, just hopefully not with such ease that they can be done in the middle of a game. Also, I really hope that all these "enhancements" are turned off if you grab a flag or a ball. Being able to use the jet pack when holding the flag would be lame.

Did anyone get an email from xbox.com saying they get 400 points, 3 months of live, and a beta key for a download of the halo reach beta? It was basically a "I'm sorry for halo 2 being shut down" present of sorts

I didn't. Supposedly its only going out to Xbox 1 users. Shame too. Halo 2 was the pinnacle of Halo, and from the looks of Reach, H2 will remain as such.

I wish Bungie would've stuck to the "One gun to rule them all" game play instead of stray away from it like in H3...it was what set players apart. Instead, they opted to overly balance the game and reward AR users for simplying jamming on the trigger. I am still unsure why they didn't implement the MLG setting Battle Rifle into all the matchmaking playlists....

Granted, no one has used the DMR and it could be the new all purpose power weapon, but that remains to be seen. If there is no such "gun to rule them all" I will definitely play the MP for about a week then say "fuck this"

Disappointed to hear that Active Roster doesn't mean drop in/out gameplay. :(

Haha thanks. I am always impressed by the way Bungie is able to take a good hard look at what is wrong with their games and make an attempt to fix it. In terms of matchmaking innovation, these guys are leading the way.

I know I'm way late, but I just finished ODST single player and...well wtf is up with that ending? Any news on a ODST 2? I had fun with it but it seemed super short. I know it wasn't meant to be a full blown single player experience...but still! Anyways, has there been any official announcements on Halo 3: ODST 2?

Halo Reach is Bungie's last Halo game. Somehow I doubt anyone else is going to pick up the ODST torch.

I am interested in playing some firefight with some CAGs for the achievements. I also just got this game from the gf sale, have finished the single player but need to do some firefight! Add me if you need another, I am on most nights during the week!

I haven't played this in sooooo long but I know for a fact I need Vidmaster achievements as well. If a few of us can settle on a time and day I'll try my best to make it.

I'd like to get in at some point, but I wouldn't be able to participate until May rolls around (moving on the 1st and not sure when my internet will be up at my new location). Don't feel you need to wait for me if you find somebody else, but having watched this thread in the past it seems finding times isn't the easiest for people.

Trying to play in early May probably will make it impossible, at least for a couple weeks, since the Halo Reach Beta drops on May 3.

Kind of what I figured. I could "attempt" to try now, but with my crazy sleep schedule (due to my current job), I'd rather not adjust it just for a game.

No biggie though. It just gives me time to either play the beta or work on other games in my backlog. :razz:
