I thought it was lame and played out to use a song like that.

Not necessarily that song, but the whole idea of "hey, lets just have some wench sing a children's song all creepy-like" gets used for horror movies and the like way too often.

I dunno, the trailer, like the game as a whole, has basically had me in "meh" mode from the beginning...

It is a common device in horror games/movies. Even the new Silent Hill does it. That doesn't mean it's not effective though.

Ah, I can see your point there. That idea was a bit overused the last few years...
