June 18.
Since this list was bumped I changed it so that no one would think that the old prices still counted. At this point I don't know if CC has any kind of percentage clearance going.
Here then are the games that I know to be 5 - 10 as thier regular price.
GCN:
MX Superfly $10
NBA 2K3 $10
Star Wars Rogue leader $10
Street Hoops $10
Waverace Bluestorm $10
WWE Crushhour $10
XBOX:
Alter Echo $10
Batman Dark Tomorrow $10
Capcom vs SNK 2 EO $10
NBA 2K3 $10
Shenmue II $10
Triple Play 2002 $5
PS2:
Alter Echo $10
Breath of Fire:DQ $10

Oh so Gungrave is 4.98 now...sounds like an even better deal than the 9.96 one.
I mentioned in the other thread that Orta is 14.99
Several 2k3 sports games where in the bin as well
Yeahman
12-28-2003, 07:06 PM
I started a new thread to draw attention to the fact that other games besides Gungrave may be ringing up half the price listed before.
It's a sale so Gungrave may go back up next week.

Ico is selling for 15 dollars.
Dammit I'm going to try and go to a different circuit city. The one I went to refused to even price Jet Set Radio Future for me. Treated me like I was retarded or something. "Durh, the price tag is what it really is." It's not $50 and they know it.. Then again they slap a 99.99 price tag on the clone wars/tetris worlds combo, so I guess those morons can do whatever they want.

 MarkMan over at VGtalk says Shinobi is only $4.98!
what!? Dammit, it's worth driving 20 miles to beat me up some Circuit City guys. They'll price those items right or I'll flog them with an XBOX controller.
D4rkewolfe
12-28-2003, 10:33 PM
So are the 9.99 games basically 1/2 off now? I just came from there and I guess Haven is still 4.96 and Treasure Planet is 9.98. I don't have my reciept for Gungrave or Shinobi, wish I did...extra cash for another game.

12-28-2003, 10:40 PM
Are these games ringing in at half price?
Also, does anyone on the board work at CC, so that we could get the in on official markdowns and whatnot? There should be a jt2k3 for every store here!
D4rkewolfe
12-28-2003, 10:44 PM
Yeah they should...funny thing is how not all workers know these things. You see how some of the employees are just plain lost, like those at EB who didn't even know they had a sale and the pamphlets are right there.
Wario64
12-28-2003, 10:49 PM
I wonder how many games from the other Circuit City thread are now marked at half price. I hope Amplitude is $10 now, that'd be a great price. It's be funny if the $5 games were marked half price, $2.50 a game is just rediculous
D4rkewolfe
12-28-2003, 10:53 PM
Now imagine if we knew about this before the EB sale ended today. That would have been some major profit...hah yeah 2.50 for those games would be just hilarious...but I bought another copy of Haven today, it was still 4.96, so I guess they thought they couldn't go lower than that.

Okay so let me get this straight. The bargain bin games at Circuit City are selling for half off? How do you guys know for sure? Does it say this in the store anywhere? Also, what kinda Xbox games could I get for cheap?
I gotta take my friend up to the mall tomorrow and there's a circuit city up there. I might check it out.

Today I went to my local CC to find some games for the promotion "buy 3 get $20 off". I got the skies of arcadia(GC) for $25. I don't know if this is the 50% off game but you may try it.

In this week's ad for Circuit City, it says selected games are 50% off on the back of the ad. It doesn't state which games are 50% off though, just says each store's selection is varied

At 11:15 Am today, the Circuit City in Glendale, CA had Amplitude at 19.96 not $14.99 as indicated. FYI.
I was pissed because at $19.96 it didn't qaulify for the buy 2 get $10 off deal.

i remember seeing Gungrave and Maximo both marked 19.99, in a bin that said 50% clearance off the games in the bin? I cant remember what else was in there, a bunch of out dated sports games and a bunch of other stuff.
also one guy here mentioned he got Guilty Gear X2 to ring up as 19.99 anyone else have this luck as well?

ClockTower 3 for $9.99
The volume of games I think is too much for the staff to manage, so most stores don't even move the games to the discount bins. They are only half-heartedly alphabetized - new games are in the right spot, but old games are everywhere.
In Richmond, the home of Circuit City's Corporate headquarters, the bins are not even marked as discount, and you will often find full price games in there as well.
All games are properly priced in the computer, so even if they are mis-marked, you can still get the sale prices, despite what the floor help says. Also, u can take games to Customer Service to get a price check.

City Crisis is $15
Ico is $15
Gungrave is $5
However, I bought all 3 together, and for some reason the current promo going on (b2 get $10 off, b3 get $20 off) was applied for $10, and got all 3 for $25!

What stuff did you get C_A?
PS2:
Gungrave
Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter
XBOX:
Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO
Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions
Jet Set Radio Future
Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2
Most of these games I wouldn't buy, but if considering I just got an XBOX, I'll take ANY XBOX game that's $5 practically
Wario64
12-29-2003, 02:26 PM
Was Breath of Fire V = $5?
Cause when I went to Circuit City today, I bought Gungrave and BoF5 for a total of $10, but I noticed on the receipt that the person accidently scanned Gungrave TWICE, so I wasn't sure if BoF really got marked down
I got it today and $10 was the price.

I found one copy of Rez there and grabbed it. I had my parents get it for me for xmas. Today I got Haven for $5, Gungrave for $5, and BOF for $10. I couldn't find any copies of Shinobi. :( If I bought shinobi somewhere else, would CC price match it? KB might have it for 10. I was thinking about getting Guilty Gear and amplitude, but that would have cost too much.

Well, I bought Gitaroo-man, Shinobi and Gungrave 2 weeks ago, but I of course threw away the receipt.
Well anyways I go to return Treasure Planet and I ask if there is any way for them to find that reciept. I paid with my credit card so they look it up by the credit card. They find it too and I was able to get a credit of 22.97
Well I end up trading Treasure Planet for Clock Tower 3, it had a difference of 3 pennies. Some guy at the counter gives me a nickel, and I of course take it. CC is being too kind to me.

Yes, please do post them tomorrow, because I know and you know that Circuit City doesn't update the price tags for the customers really well (from the 2 i've been to today, anyway). One still had JSRF for $50 and Capcom vs. Snk 2 for $40.

Hey kids, just wanted to let you know that I picked up Galerians: Ash for $7.50 today for the PS2 at my local CC. 55% at Gamerankings.com...but I mean.....$7.50....fluck it.
I might snag that one too tomorrow. Probably gonna be a Grinch and buy all the JSRF's they have. One for my GF, one for her friend, and the rest for trade/sale for some other games.

If you can find them, Rez is $25 and Ikaruga is $20 (turns out there is a 4th Circuit City not too far from me -- who knew -- and they had one copy of each). They actually became even cheaper than that thanks to the buy 3 $20+ games and get $20 off deal running right now.

Agreed! Maybe somebody should start another site called GreedyAssGamer.com.
there's difference between saving money and making money....except that the latter is oviously better.

Look, user. I think you're missing the point of this website. It's not about everyone exploiting deals to make as much money as possible off of other CAGer's deals that they discovered. It's about sharing deals with other fellow cheap ass gamers so that we can ALL enjoy a cheap game or guide. This behavior would actually ENCOURAGE people to share deals that they found, not to horde them and not tell anyone else about them. You can say it's socialism instead of capitalism, but if you're looking for a capitalist website, then try ebay.

I was just there yesterday and picked up:
Gungrave, Shinobi, Mat Hoffman 2 all for PS2, and JSRF for Xbox all for $20. There was a whole stack of Rez there, I'd say at least 6 or 7 copies, but I didn't check them. Is this a rare game or something? Also is the $5 Mace griffin just for Xbox or is it for PS2 as well?

I'll probably only get 4 of them, and 3 of them would go to friends as gifts because they want them. On top of that, I'd most likely try to trade the last copy for Shinobi or something, because both CC's within 100 miles don't have one, dammit! :(

just a question. when i found 2 games in the 50% bin the guy that i had price check them told me that the price would be without 50% off. so i dug through the bin and found Robotech Battlecry (xbox) $10 and Clock Tower 3 (PS2) $10. so im like kool there $5 each. after he told me that they were $10. so when i went to the front the cashier said well yur getting more than 50% off anyway. but i didn't feel like arguing. so are they supposed to be marked down or did some dood pick them up and through them in the bin. because if thats the case then i won't argue but if they were supposed to be 50% off and they riped me off $10 then i want that back.
I think they weret rhown in the bin. Last I heard they were both still $10
cegha
12-30-2003, 12:35 PM
ok thanks i gotta take back robotech battlecry as the game has a few scratch spots on it and its skipping. is it possible that some games are 50% off and not in the bin. Because RE:remake for GCN has been $20 and i found it on the shelf and asked the guy to price check it and it came up as $10. so would this be from the sale or a simple price drop?

Saw a single copy of Rez for 25 bucks (or I'm assuming because it still had the 50 price tag on it)...and I didn't get it. I don't know...I think the game looks cool, but ever since I became a true CAG, I have a hard time paying more than like 15 bucks for a game.
What to do?

I'm thinking of checking out a CC sometime soon that still has oldies like Mister Mosquito, Ephemeral Fantasia, Forever Kingdom, and The Bouncer. Maybe I can find a deal on some of those.

Hey guys thanks for your replies. Just picked up Rez and Skies of Arcadia.
I also got Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast for gamecube for $25. Plus since they had that buy 3 get 20 dollars off I saved even more :-)
They also had
Home Run King (GCN) 9.99
Dues Ex (PS2) 9.99
Soccer Slam (GCN) 24.99
Fatal Frame (PS2) 24.99
Kinetica (PS2) 14.99
Not sure if these are part of the half off or are old news but
Timesplitters 2 (GCN) 9.99
Red Faction 2 (GCN) 9.99
EDIT:
Somebody said yesterday they were going to post the complete list. Did they post it somewhere?

I didn't look in the PS2 bin so I dunno if Mace Griffin is 50% off on PS2 or not. They had one copy left on Xbox and it said 20 bucks on the tag, but it rang up as $4.99. I was expecting to pay 10 :?
I checked the CC near my job for the Xbox version of Mace, and it came up @ $14.99. I guess not all deals are the same all over.
I'm in Houston, TX, and I was able to get Baldurs Gate: DA (Xbox) for $3.33. I think the cashier made a dumb mistake and gave me more off than I was supposed to.

Just got in from what it seems to be turning into my daily CC visit - thanks CAG. Tonight I was able to pick up:
Xenosaga 1 (rang up $19.96) for $9.99
.Hack 1 (rang up $14.96) for $9.99
I asked the cashier what the restrictions were on the Buy 2 Save $10 deal and she told me there were no retrictions. So, having just picked up .Hack, I went back and got Xenosaga and the cashier just changed the price of both games to $9.99.

I haven't seen anyone mention the following half price xbox games yet:
Fatal Frame $25.00
Crimson Sea $15.00
Italian Job $10.00
I don't think the last one is very good, but the first two are excellent. They had at least a half dozen of each at my local CC. Still can't seem to find a copy of Murakoumo though...drat.

I went to my Circuit City tonite, and brought up a bunch of games to price check, out of curiosity. The chick said that if I buy 3, there's an extra $20 off....I'm like "even if they ring up for less than $20?". She says "well let's see" So she scans Burnout 2 (XBOX) for $24.99, Frequency (PS2) for $14.99, and Crazy Taxi 3 (XBOX) for $9.99. The discount worked and it knocked the prices down to $18.32, $8.32, and $3.32!!!!! $29.96 for all 3...now THAT'S a cheap ass deal! I'm thinking about going back and getting Ape Escape 2 - $19.99, Freaky Flyers - $9.99 and Kung Fu Chaos - $19.99......but man I already have SO many games I haven't finished yet, I think I'll stop while I'm ahead.
So there ya go - some CC's will give you $20 more off on already cheap ass games!!!!

I don't know why people are so interesting in this game. I don't play it because my friend told me the import version is coming with the vibrator. He told me that's quite cool if you play with the vibrator. He said this the major difference between dreamcast and ps2 version. Without the vibrator, it just likes a shooting game. The vibrator can even use on the space channel 5 part2. Just wonder if it's such great game I should buy it?

I'll do this, I'll go check it out today and see if I can find either game, but if I find only 1 copy of Gitaroo-man I'll give it to the guy that posted earlier about looking for it for 2 months.

The CC I went to only had a few games in the 50 off bin so I browsed thru the regular games and found Shinobi there for $10 so I asked for a price check and it rung up for $5. The stickers will probably have some seemingly random numbers that have litle or nothing to do with what they will actually charge you for the game. If you wish to avoid confusion, this is not the sale for you. Most employees will be happy, or are at least trained to appear happy, to do a few price checks.

The Circuit City that I got back from was very nice. They had printed out lists of all the games that were 50% off and would allow you to walk around with the lists and look for the games. Then when I checked out, the cashier also applied the get $20 off when you purchase 3 games over $20 deal. That means I got titles like Clock Tower 3 and Gitaroo Man for $3.32 each. I've checked 3 Circuit City's so far though and I still can't find a Shinobi.

Just a few corrections:
- Ikaruga is for GC, not PS2 (still $20)
- "Legia 2?" is Legaia 2: Duel Saga, which is already on the list, so please remove that
- Xenosaga is $20 and .hack Part 1 is $15, not $10 each (someone got lucky on a cashier's error)
- I believe both Resident Evil 2 AND 3 for GC have been reported as $15 each
- Breath of Fire: DQ has been confirmed at $10 (not part of 50% off sale)
- Wave Race: Blue Storm (GC) is $10 (not part of 50% off sale)
- don't forget Wolverine's Revenge (PS2) for $10 and Disney's Extreme Skating (GC?) for $15

They DO have this sale. It's just that they were too lazy to update the prices. If you tried to check them out you'd see the individual lower prices and the $10/$20 off discount.
If you don't want a title, just have the cashier hit the 'delete line' key to undo the purchase. Remember, until you pay, you've lost nothing.

Got back from the Paramus NJ Circuit City with a decent haul:
Ico 15
Panzer orta 15
skies of arcadia 25
RE2 GC 15
RE3 GC 15
Code veronica GC 15
Silpheed 5
Gun Griffen Blaze 5
Must say the paramus circuit city game section is probably the neatest and most organized ive seen. Everything in alphabetical order for the most part.
Were there more RE3 & RE3 available there?

I see a lot of people stating they go to CC and that they don't have the sale or something like that. You know what, you don't even have to purchase anything. Just go to an employee and tell him or her "Can you scan this and tell me how much it is?" If they give you some crap on how the price is on the game, you just tell them "I want to find out how much all of it would be together" or "I think they are on sale and they have not been updated". As he scans them just see how much it rings up for. I've gotten attitude, I don't care, I'm there to shop, I'm a customer, they can deal with it.

Thanks for fixing the list. No one said it was your fault for there being errors in the list; in fact, I'm sure there's not one person here who doesn't appreciate the time you spent revising the list.
On another note, to anyone heading to a CC soon, please check out the summer Jampacks of '01, '02, and '03. I only checked the winter ones of '01 and '02, and I just assumed that the summer '01 and '02 ones were a penny as well. Also, I have no clue if the summer '03 Jampack is a penny yet, but I have a hunch. I'll be extremely grateful to whoever reports it.

Ok i just got back from circuit city and heres a few updates for you guys.
Contra Shattered Soldier for ps2 is 14.99.
You can take advantage of the computer for the buy 3 get 20 off, heres how you do it...
You have to get games normally 20 bucks but 50% on clearence.
For instance today i picked up phantasy star collection gba, oni for ps2, and even of extinction all for 3.33 each, or 10.80 total.
i got skies of arcadia for 18, good deal.
For anyone seeking a zelda master quest/oot disc still...some cc's have them for 7.50, just look for the clearence sheet and ask them to search the number.
You can only do do the buy 3 get 20 off deal twice per store :[

i got Gungrave for 5 bucks today, hopefully its a decent game. ive been to a handful of circuit city's around my area and yea like some other people I still can't get my hands on shinobi.
i had some guy scan Gungrave to make sure it was 5 bucks and he freaked out. quite funny.

The cashier I had interpreted the sale to be $20 off 3 games that are "normally" $20 or more each. By "normally," he meant the marked prices. Therefore, if you got any three games that rang up at $10 but were marked at $20 or more, you could get all three for just $10.
Yeahman
12-31-2003, 06:03 PM
The kid at Circuit City who did the price checks for me yesterday was like
"Dude how do you know all this!?!"
Gungrave was still marked 49.99 and his jaw dropped when it rang up 4.98. Lost Kingdoms was still marked 49.99. Heck they even had Ephemeral Fantasia still sitting around. Yeah the game sucks but it shows how much work they need to do. Both stores I've been to have had Rez.

Mace Griffin $5
I tried getting this at my CC, it was priced at 19.99 so I got them to ring it up and it came out at 14.99. :x Has anyone managed to get Xbox Mace Griffin for $5?
I picked up a few lame $5 games though :D : Gungrave, Murakumo and Wreckless

Legend of Lagaia 2 - 8.32
Ape Escape 2 - 13.32
Gundam Federation - 23.32
Zone of Enders 2 - 14.96
Gungrave - 4.96
Crimson Sea - 18.32
Black Stone - 18.32
Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition) - 23.32
In all I spent close to $130 for eight games which would normally have costed me $260-$270. ^_^

do the price stickers say the sale price or it shows normal price but will ring up different at the counter? i just dont want any confusion
The stickers have a sale price that partially covers up the original price... However, I did go to a different CC earlier and they didn't have any stickers on their games so I guess it varies from store to store...

Was it the GH version or the original -- there may be a difference in the system.
Oh, I forgot to mention, when I went back to have my shinobi price adjusted, they also adjusted Document of Metal Gear Solid 2, so it is down to $5 as well.
Mr. Rhee
01-01-2004, 10:24 AM
I'm sure it's been noted but when it comes to XBX-PH and PS2-GH, I've only had the original versions ring up cheaper.
i.e. PS2 Maximo (orig.) = $10 ; (Greatest Hits-red label) = $20
i.e. XBX Wreckless (orig) = $5 ; (Platinum) = $20
Also, I may have missed it on earlier posts but: PS2 Amplitude rang up for $19.96 and NOT valid for the 'buy 3 games over 19.99, save $20' promo. But perhaps you can beg the clerk and do what i did. I begged the clerk to price adjust the amplitude to $19.99 to save me some money and he had no problem considering I alerted him to all the savings.
Also, don't know if these games have been mentioned:
(NGC) Die Hard = $10
(PS2) Armored Core 3 = $10 (I bought 4 copies because it allows system-link/i-link lan gaming, but I left plenty)
I know you can get $15 for AC3 at BestBuy w/GGC, but my CC let me use the AC3 as part of the 3@$20 promo.
Also, a few CCs have checkout registers in the GAME section and those CCs had smooth transactions. The other CCs that i went to had very bad reactions from Management/Employees who got pricescans for me. At some CCs, they refused, I repeat REFUSED to sell me the games, perhaps to buy for themselves, and gave me bs excuses like:
1) Not in our system so we can't sell to you
2) The prices are coming up wrong so I have to put these in the back
3) We don't have these games in stock (while holding the actual game)
4) We don't sell to dealers (while I was holding 2 games + my price printout)
So I went back to a few of them later that night, walked right up to the front registers with the same games and got the prices i deserved. At some stores i had to tell a different employee that some games were being held in the back for me and he went and brought them to me.
So, bottom line, IMHO, do not trust the employees to hand over a cheap ass deal to you when they want it for themselves.
happy new year.

RAD- $24.99, reduced to $19.99 when the deal was applied

Mr.Saturn
01-01-2004, 07:30 PM
Arg, I just went earlier today, went to two circuit city's. The First one only had 1 game I wanted: Golden Sun 1, it came up to 19.99, 21.39 with tax. Not a bad deal, since the game isn't too easy to find, specially brand new for that price. The 2nd CC had Breath Of Fire 2, and Lufia: Ruins Of Lore, both were marked at 29.99, but when the they were scanned at the register, they each ringed up at 14.99. Not bad at all. BoF 2 is hard to find, I can only find it at capcom.com, and for 29.99, Lufia is also selling in ebgames for 29.99. So in the end I picked up Golden Sun, Breath Of Fire 2, and Lufia: Ruins Of Lore for a total of $53.47, it would have cost over 80 at regular price, not bad. But I didn't find any castlevania games for the gba, so that kinda sucked.

I found a few other games that aren't on the page 1 list. I went to Circuit City again today, and this is what these games are scanning at:
Quantum Redshift (Xbox) $5
Giants Citizen Kabuto (PS2) $5
Gauntlet Dark Legacy (GCN) $15
Grandia II (PS2) $15
Hitman 2 (GCN) $15
Lufia The Ruins of Lore (GBA) $15
Dragon Warrior VII (PS1) $20
You might get lucky if you ask a Circuit City employee what games are 50% off. There's a list that the cashier showed me (it's about 5 pages long), and it lists all games that are 50% off. There's no prices on the list, it just shows what games are on the 50% off sale. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the list. I only read through it briefly.
If anyone knows what these scan at, then please post the prices: Dragon Valor (PS1), Grandia Xtreme (PS2), Gungriffon Blaze (PS2), Ephemeral Fantasia (PS2).

Did this today at a local EB. Here's the thing - I even asked for a $50 gift card, but they refused me, citing that it would look like they were defrauding the video game companies. (Whatever.) But I wanted FF:CC anyway so I preordered it - and I had to pay tax.
The tax will be refunded when I pick up the game - because the trade-in deal is for a free complete game. (+ Link cable)

If anyone hits Circuit City or elsewhere and sees the following games (NEW/SEALED), i'll make it worth their while:
PS2 REZ --- ccprice: $25+/- ; I'll buy for=$40*
PS2 Gitaroo Man --- ccprice: $10+/- ; I'll buy for=$21*
PS2 Robot Alchemic Drive (RAD) ccprice: $18+/- ; I'll buy for=$24*
(my buy prices already include $2 shipping for each, please subtract $1 for each add'l game I get from you - yes I'm a cheap-ass.)
I have a very hard time finding these games locally but many of you seem to see "plenty" in your area so I think I'll use the power of CAG to make this a win/win situation for everyone.
The circuit city "buy 3 games above $20 & save $20" ends 01/03/04

Yeah, they definitely credited it for the $20 off for buying 3 games. Some people have been having success wth this even when the games are below $20 each.

Masterkyo,
re: TRU & REZ - No such luck. I call and tell they me no. I still don't believe them so i visited at least 12+ TRUs and 9+ CCs. Still no luck with CC, TRU, etc. Would try ebay but it is not the CAG way.
but if you can find them, I'll compensate you for your time.
if anyone cares, (probably posted before) TRU-offline is dumping Sega accessories:
DC controllers: $1.98
DC memcards: $1.50
Saturn games: $1.50
GameGear games: $0.98
and gamestop was/is running a 30% off dreamcast promo and a few stores let me apply it towards the consoles ($20-$6=$14) and even let me use it for the pre-owned (buy 2 get 1 free) sale. and then let me use my GameInformer card for add'l 10% off
picked up a few black DC systems for $13 +/- each. Need a few to system link DC "Virtual On"
And if anyone finds XBOX Timesplitters 2 or XBX serious sam or XBX Deathrow at CC email-me: I need at least 8 copies of each for xbox systemlink lan parties I throw. if you are getting them for $3.32 each I'll gladly pay $9 each including shipping.

The Bouncer (PS2) - $20

My local Circuit City in Northridge, CA, had none of these sale prices when I price-checked a stack of the games listed in this thread. The employees (I went through three of them) were very uncourteous and acted as though I was some sort of outrageous liar. The store claims that the 50% off sale is only on the three titles (X2: Wolverine's Revenge, Primal, Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure) listed in this week's ad. I asked why the "save 50% off select video game software / selection varies by store" line would be printed additionally if the selection was only limited to those three titles, and they just stared blankly for a while before telling me that they could not help me further.
At least the day wasn't a complete waste: I got a free copy of Pac-Man Vs. at Gamestop just for the asking. :)

Oh, you don't have to apologize for anything. It's not like you were wrong about these prices; it just didn't work out at my local store. I think I had trouble simply because that Circuit City refuses to participate in the sale. The look on the manager's face after my pointed question seemed to all but acknowledge that I was right in principle, but he just refused to help me out by looking further into this matter. After he implied that I should take my business elsewhere, I dryly said, "Thank you for your customer service," to which he responded, "Next customer!"
Oh well, at least on Sunday I'll be getting 10% back on my Beyond Good & Evil purchase. It'll be the best 10% I've ever gotten back from Circuit City. :P

I went to CC today and picked up a couple of games.
Gungrave (PS2) - $4.98
Bloodrayne (GC) - price on it said $9.99 but I got it for $4.99
Final Fantasy Origins - price on it was $29.99 but I got it for $9.99! \:D/
All in all, I spent $21.16. The receipt says that a "promotional discount" was applied to items 2 & 3 (Bloodrayne and FFO) It looks like the $10 off deal. I'm not exactly sure why I got it, considering one item was originally priced over $19.99, but you're not going to hear me complaining
My thanks once again to CAG and to all the CAG'ers.

I just got back from CC a little while ago and was a little disappointed. I think this one has been picked through pretty good because out of 9 games I had on my list (6 GC, 3 GBA) they only had one of them...Breath of Fire 2. I got it for $15 but was hoping to buy 5 or 6 to get the $20 off deals.
Oh well, I've decided to just start checking in once or twice a week to see if they get anything new.

FF:Origins $15 (Burbank)
Galerians: Ash $7.50 (NH)
Wild Arms 3 $10 (Burbank)
BoF: Dragon Quarters $10 (NH)
There are still a couple copies of FF:Origins, Wild Arms 3, BoF:DQ and Panzer Dragoon:Orta left at the North Hollywood (NH) store. I didn't check the WA3 or the PD:Orta price at NH though.

I just came back from CC, and I had them price check some games for me. Most of the prices came up matching the list here, but there were a few discrepencies...
Mace Griffin (Xbox) $19.99 (shame, too. I'd have paid $5)
Harvest Moon (PS2) $19.99 (was all ready to pay the $10 :( )
Timesplitters 2 (Xbox) $19.99 (was checking this for a friend, I wasn't going to buy it anyway)
Also, regarding Castlevania, HOD is definitely $15. I didn't check the others.
New entries:
Silpheed (PS2) and Gun Griffon Blaze (PS2) are each $4.98. I know everyone is running to pick these up right now

Ok, here's a breakdown of some of the purchases I've made through the CC blowout going on. I've visited alot of the CC's here in SD but not all. Not ONE of them had Rez or Shinobi as someone had mentioned earlier... :? Visited Sports Arena, Carmel Mtn Ranch, Escondido, La Mesa, and Clairemont Square.
Clairemont Square
----------------------
Onimusha 2 $19.99
Sly Cooper $19.99
Pikmin $0.00 (Free due to $20 promo. Can't find the receipt for the exact totals... )
Sports Arena
---------------
SSX GH $9.99 (Haven't seen this one in any of the lists, but there it is nonetheless. Only Sports Arena had any of SSX, the others had none.)
Ico $14.99 (Only Sports Arena had more than 5 copies left. Saw one copy at Escondido)
Freaky Flyers $9.99 (Most of the stores had a few copies of this one. I'd say less than 4 at each location)
Gungrave $4.98 (Same as above, they aren't lacking in stock on this one)
La Mesa
---------
Beyond Good and Evil $34.99 (Only so I could get the price match on Sun... :D )
Deus Ex $4.99 (La Mesa was the only store with any of these. I bought one of the last 2)
Escondido
-----------
Alter Echo $9.96
Gungrave $4.98
Haven $4.96
Primal $13.32 (think I got hosed on this one, could've sworn it was cheaper)
Dr. Muto $3.32 (Also not previously listed, but most stores have adequate amounts for both PS2 and Xbox)
Kung Fu Chaos $13.32 (Also not seen listed, but was planning on buying this one anyway. Most of the stores have a few copies of it)
Quantum Redshift $4.99
Mace Griffin $14.99
Crazy Taxi 3 $4.99 (Only store I found with a copy of this one.)
Carmel Mtn. was mostly rifled. If you go to Escondido, make sure you've got some time as NOTHING is in any semblance of order. La Mesa was the most orderly with very little out of order.
YMMV, but good luck and good hunting!

NouveauS: Man - looks like I'll be trotting around SD tommorrow. I live near the Sweetwater CC location, but for some of the titles, I'd easily drive to Escondido (CT3 for $5 sound nice). The Sweetwater location didn't look to have great pick'ins last time I was there. The bin was full of old crap and the shelves looked to have mostly the latest titles with no older goodies. Out of the locations you visited, what would you say is the best to nab some of the titles you listed? GG, CT3, and Deus Ex being what I'm most interested in.
NouveauS

GG was at most of the locations, so I don't think you're gonna have a problem with this one. Escondido and La Mesa had the most however. CT3 I only saw at Escondido. Didn't remember seeing another copy tho. Might still be buried in there somewhere :? Deus Ex was only available at La Mesa. None of the other stores had any copies of it left. I had 2 in my hand while looking so can only vouch for there being 2 there. There could be more buried there, but like I mentioned, it was very well ordered and there wasn't alot of titles out of place.
Hope this helps,

I went to my local CC in CT and the place was raided, along with the KBToys store which is going out of business. Anyways, my friend picked up two games and I picked up one
Shinobi: $5
Clock Tower 3 $10
Unreal Championship $10
They were out of RE for GC, and Code Veronica came up $40 so I have no idea how you guys got the copy for $20, unless you got lucky through the cashier foir $20 off. They didnt have Iron Man or ANY castlevania games for the GBA. I was pretty happy with Clock Tower 3 though, especially considering when they had the $5-$10 sale awhile back and It seemed like I was the only one in CT who knew about the deals. Good times.

XBOX Unreal non-PH rang up for $10.
Bought 3 copies but for some reason it qualified for "buy3/save$20". So $3.33 each. I've tried before but it didn't qualify earlier this week. Perhaps sign of future price drops to come. of course Unreal-PH didn't even ring up for $10.
Tried same thing w/ TIMESPLITTERS2. I needed 8 copies (for langaming) so I brought up 6 copies. 3 rang up for $20, other 3 rang up for $10. I need to double check but I believe the copies with the CC-VALUE sticker rang up for higher. CC would not price each at $10, but allowed me to apply the "save$20" deal to all. makes no sense, but I'm fine with it. obviously I only bought the 3 copies that were cheaper.
So:
3 XBX TS2 = $3.33 each
3 XBX UNR = $3.33 each
1 PS2 Armored Core 3 = $10
1 PS2 Gitaroo Man = $10
1 PS2 Disaster Report = $25 before save$20
1 PS2 RAD = $25 before save$20
1 PS2 Ninja Assault = $22.50 before save$20
so all 3 for $52.50 = $17.50 each; but for some reason they applied another $10 off. I have no idea why, so about $14 each. Maybe the cashier was hooking-me-up because I let him keep a copy of Shinobi and Gungrave. His eyes lit up when he saw the scanned price and asked if there were any more copies. Since these were the last two and I was hitting other CC's I told him, "I'm not greedy, you can keep those for yourself." So hopefully this guy will take care of me whenever I come back in. He'll have no problem doing pricescans for me in the future.
and of course plenty of PS2 jampacks for $.01 (everything before 2003) the cases alone are worth more.
also XBX exhibition demo disc #02 for $1. yes I know it's just a demo, but I've read that MS made a mistake and included a FULL version of CAPCOM vs. SNK 2 EO on the demo disc. The only feature that is disabled is the 'save' function, but for $1, no problem.
also the PS2 BG&Es were g...o...n...e...
I asked an employee that I have built a rapport with and he could not give me a straight answer whether or not the BG&E sold out or were being held in the back. He rolled his eyes and asked me why is everyone so into this game all of a sudden. can't wait to see the look on his face Sunday morning when he looks at CC's circular. I hope everyone already picked up their copy of PS2 BG&E or ordered it online before tomorrow morning.

Well, I got 3 PS2 games, 2 Xbox games, and 2 GBA games. The GCN selection SUCKS there (Well, I almost bought Skies of Arcasia, but decided against it). Here's specifically what I got and what I paid:
Matt Hoffman 2 (Xbox): 1st copy I brought up had a $4.99 sticker but rang up as $19.99. It ended up having the CC value game sticker on it, so I found one that didn't.
Murakumo (Xbox): $4.99 I got the last one I think
Defender (GBA): $7.98 DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP
Iron Man (GBA): Has a $29.99 sticker, but rings up as $4.99. Worth it. Fun, but generic little platformer. Has a nice save feature. There are more of these, but you may have to look behind some games to find it. It was on the upper-left part of the GBA shelf.
Haven (PS2): $4.99 Needed one for the Sonic Heroes trade-in deal.
Gungriffon Blaze (PS2): $4.99 Had to dig through a bin of games to find it.
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter: $9.96 There was at least one more of these
I didn't bring the entire GBA or GCN list with me, and I didn't look hard at the GCN games. I think i saw some RE games, but didn't look into it. Oh, and GCN Tarzan was $7.99, but I would never pay more than $5 for that.
IF ANYONE CAN GET ME THE FOLLOWING:
1 copy of Shinobi
5-10 Jampacks that are 1 cent (I really need PS2 cases)
1 Xbox Exhibition 2
I WILL PAY $15 SHIPPED FOR IT ALL. MY CC WAS OUT OF THIS STUFF.

Clarification on Harvest Moon:
I called up my local circuit city with the UPC (which I got from half.com), and they said they had 1 in stock at $9.99. Upon searching the CC from top to bottom, it turns out they didn't have it.
So, I called all of the CC's within 50 miles (many of which I KNEW had at least 3 HM's), and all of them said that they had no record of the UPC. I decided to check it out anyway.
Within 1 minute of searching, I found 2 of them. Upon inspection of the game, it had new UPC stickers placed over the original ones, with a whole new set of numbers. Price checking it, it came up as $19.99, because it was labeled as a value bin game. I checked out a bunch of other games around it, like Escape from Monkey Island and Intellivision Lives!, and they all had the same stickers placed over their UPC's with the SAME bargain bin UPC. I asked the cashier if she would scan the barcode under the sticker, and she said she would if i peeled it off. I did, and the UPC wasn't in their system. Long story short, I got Harvest Moon and Intellivision Lives! for $30 total.
For anyone looking for a specific game, call your local Circuit city with the UPC number, and if they don't have a record of it, it's likely that you won't get the sale price (it doesn't necessarily mean that they don't have it in stock). Me thinks CC is getting wise to us...

I just got back from Circuit City. Went thru alot of games, and as I was having them scanned, some email or something was sent to the person doing the price checking.
He told me he couldnt sell the games that hasd been lowered already and then combined with the 50% off sale.
I did get 3 games,
Balders Gater: Dark Alliance
SNK
Crazy Taxi 3
all for $9.99 each. there were more $9.99 games but None that really interested me.
JSRF was $5.00, but i didnt want it.
WHATEVER THE CASE, GET TO CC and see what you can still get. I dont know how long any of its gonna last.

Many people seem to be under the impression that there is a 50% off on top of the prices given at the register. The 50% off is already taken into account.
Meeker
01-03-2004, 07:24 PM
So whats the use in that? Wouldn't you be embarrased to walk up to the front desk and say its worth 25 dollars even though the pric tag says 50? And what if the person across the register already marks the product and it comes out to 50?
