I haven't had Fallout 3 do anything crazy with me yet. I think I've seen at most one dancing corpse and even that was just a little twitch compared to TFN's CoD3 movie.

Morrowind 1.0 PC was super fucking buggy as all fuck. Bugs like "this quest is broken" or "it keeps crashing to desktop" or "the game forgot my quest path" or "this NPC is missing and I need to talk to them", for example. It was patched up to like 1.7 with the Bloodmoon expansion, and they fixed a lot of shit. That's like 6 patches later. So it had a ton of bugs that they mostly fixed. Still had some left though.

Oblivion was a lot less buggy, but it still had plenty. Most of the common bugs are graphical glitches, mainly due to the physics or people getting stuck in the walls. It still had some big ones like the dude who gives you money over and over, and some potential broken quest paths. It's only had 2 patches so far, and it was much less buggy than Morrowind from day one.

Fallout 3 is definitely their most technically well-crafted game (and their best game, but that's a different argument....) Practically no loading times on the PC version, very few freakouts. Man, I'm so slow. My co-worker picked up Fable II like a week after me and he's already way farther in the game. Of course, it doesn't help that all I did last night was run around Albion having sex with my 3 wives and redecorating our houses. >_<

Well, partial lie, I did buy more property and do a few more side quests/jobs.

Actually got in a lot of gaming last night. Started off with a long Fallout 3 session--very addicting game, like Oblivion was, but I like this better--because well, there's pew-pew in it. It is hard to be a good character when you have the freedom to shoot and kill pretty much whoever you want. :p Then I finished up with Fable II.

I hope for more of the same tonight! Unless Resistance 2 gets here.

I'd do things like that too. Sometimes the AI will make you go "WTF?" for sure.

In Morrowind, I'd run all around and get every living thing chasing me, including about 10 of those fucking stupid ass bird things that always had diseases, and I'd lead them into town and watch the guards go apeshit over the invasion.

Oblivion was full of funny shit too. I had Shadowmare, or whatever his name was, tine invincible horse, and I'd pick fights with guards and climb up on rocks where they couldn't get to me, and watch my horse and the guard duel to the death.

Also picking fights and letting the guards kill the NPC who "started it" is pure gold too.

Downloaded the ME demo last night. Went in with no expectations and was blown away. Definitely buying this day one next week. I played the 360 demo is there any difference between the two (360 and PS3)? Usually 360 versions end up better but wasn't sure if this was the same case when it came to the demos.

Just hit the sky dungeon on Zelda: TP. Pretty good game so far and this is it before the final dungeon I believe. Metroid Prime 3 is on its way from gamefly so not sure if I'll get a chance to play it much before Gears 2 arrives Friday.

Once I was on a mounted gun shooting over this valley and all of a sudden some allied soldier is running in the sky in slow motion and starts moving down to the ground diagonally all while in a running animation, and then dies when he hits the ground.

For what? They're okay if you buy them for under 5 bucks but even for stuff like Street Fighter Alpha, I'd rather use a regular PS2 controller. The only really, really good fighting game pads for the PS2 are the Sega Saturn PS2 pads from 2005ish and they're really pricy now.

The app has a very slick interface too.
Creates little lobbies or something for whatever PSP game.
You can even talk to the other player via bluetooth.

Kinda like that third party app, Xai Link except now official.

I got a decent night of gaming in.

Tried out the Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts demo as well as the Mirror's Edge demo. Neither were my cup of tea so there's two fall games off my list.

Then got in a couple hours of Oblivion. Still digging it. Probably going to stop closing Oblivion Gates, those are pretty big time sinks with seemingly little payoff. Otherwise mainly focusing on Dark Brotherhood Quests at the moment, as well as other side quests I run into along the way. Need to get back to the story quests as well.

Revisited Ninja Gaiden II tonight. As a sequel to Ninja Gaiden, it's an affront to everything I believe in. As a dumb action game, it's tops. Downloaded mission mode, which is much worse than Black's mission mode + it costs money. Still, the later missions are good.

So yeah, I hate it and like it at the same time. Also, I installed NXE and installed NGII...that about takes care of the 360's heat/noise/shitty interface problems. :)

Got to Chapter 3 in Valkyria Chronicles.

I really like it. Sound effects/voices are really nice, and the score is excellent.
And it moves pretty fast for an SRPG.
I hear Chapter 7 is where it really gets hard.

DMC has that mode, yeah. heaven or hell and hell or hell mode. Has nothing to do with scoring though, just survival. Master Ninja mode is kinda like that at the beginning of the game, but you get an extended life bar throughout the game. It's more about beating the timer and getting UTs in NG1 and getting quick kills, UTs, and OTs in NG2.

What does feel right is GEARS2!

I wasn't really hyped for it, but it's so good. I played some horde mode and a lot of single player last night. There are some really, really impressive scenes so far. It feels much larger and epic in scale, while keeping the tightly designed encounters from the first game. It also looks phenomenal. Too many people will gloss over it, saying it's too similar but the lighting and texture detail, and size of the environments are a huge step up.

I believe the GH:WT guitar is the best so far if not the xplorer cause the les paul sucks cause of the detachable neck. Mic is same on all I believe. Drums are Rock Band 2 currently until they get around and fix the GH:WT drums.

Yeah multi is really where it shines. It's a good game alone, a great, great game with friends. Especially Horde in the new game. I met up with a few people and we were working together, coming up with new tactics, helping each other out, and when we finally finished level 50 everyone was shouting! It was awesome.

Mirror's Edge should have come out in July. There's no room for it in November, honestly. All the good shit has already come out and with Fallout 3 demanding most likely 80+ hours for it's measly $60 price tag, why should I worry about the questionable Mirror's Edge?

Another game thriving on "PS3 lead platform" notoriety among that system's cheerleaders. It's not bad, but it's not going to be great either, and it's certainly not going to be a hit at retail.

See if you can find one of the 120GB hard drives used at gamestop. With Cellfire it should be like $70 I think, if it applies to accessories.. That's how I got mine.

I buy games that I enjoy, not games I convince myself I like because it's Sonic or It's on my favorite platform or because damnit i'm that stubborn and I don't care if it's broken and generic, I get a strictly scripted battle with a large beast that I have to shoot when the game gives me the opportunity!!

AAA or no play means I don't waste my time with crap like Sonic Unleashed or Legendary. Under any circumstances. Time is more valuable than money with all the flipping going on recently. Some people just like to waste theirs.

A lot of things go boom but they didn't go boom enough so you have to make them go boom again.

Whoknows has bad taste and I can say as many things are crappy as I want to. Just like how most of the PS3 lineup is kinda crappy. I'd probably be playing Motorstorm: Pacific Rift though if I had the system.

uh, you go get the car with dom, you drive back and pick up baird and cole. You end up in a warehouse place while it's raining, trying to get undergound, I think. you go underground, look at all the juice, take out a corpser. You continue to recon or something, trying to map the tunnels so they can figure out how/when to drop the light bomb. You end up coming up out of a power station or some shit and get on a train for some reason. RAAM is there. You kill RAAM, get picked up by baird/cole in a chopper, lightmass bomb goes off. Queen Locust has some conversation about how the humans will die. Queue Gears 2.

I did sell my PS3 before Resistance 2 came out but Shawn Elliot's meh-tastic previews and even Garnett Lee from 1up who was super hyped saying it's "mindbogglingly bad" prove it enough for me as I trust 1up's opinions on things pretty well.

Nobody's really been saying positive things about it except the PS3 nuts and NeoGAF, which are the same thing.

Well B+ isn't a bad review, but Garnett Lee has been hyping this thing for over a year and went on a rant about how disappointed he is in the whole thing..

Huh. It's metacritic score sits at 89 and 1up, who gave it an 83, is quoted as saying:


If you're really picky, you can quibble about certain aspects -- not as many cool visual effects as you'd hope for in a modern shooter (depth-of-field, motion blur, etc.) or occasional slowdown (mostly when respawning after an active firefight), to name two. But, overall, Resistance 2 is an extremely well-assembled FPS, with an improved campaign, fun competitive multiplayer, and a damn neat take on co-op. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is the definitive PS3 game, but it's certainly one of the best PS3 exclusives I've played.

I'm relieved the game didn't turn out to be anything I'm missing out on from selling my PS3.

I'm saying I listen to all the 1up podcasts and David Ellis, the reviewer has been saying all week how it's a bland kind of shooter, and Garnett in particular went on a fairly angry rant about the game on 1up yours today. They are my opinion makers on stuff like this that I probably won't play.

Of course it works both ways.. they introduce me to good things that I probably wouldn't have played otherwise. Garnett was a pretty big proponent of Yakuza and I picked it up on his reccomendation. Same with Fable 2 - 1up liked that a lot, I wasn't hyped, but i picked it up.
